  1. View File tpcview View and export Odyssey Engine proprietary texture formats. A lightweight, somewhat quick viewer for textures in TPC format, or the proprietary header DDS format used in Aurora and its descendants. Also provides a capability to export to TGA, which is useful when you find images that won't convert via any other tool. The viewer aspect is a bit of an afterthought, as for the longest time this was just where I tested my TPC=>TGA conversion code. However, over time, I found myself wanting a simple viewer that could preview a lot of images at once, so this happened. The application is cross-platform, available for macOS and Windows. The app is written in javascript, built on Electron using three.js. ============================================================ How do I set it up? Windows: Download the '-installer' file, unzip the 7z package, run tgaview Setup <version>.exe Mac: unzip the package, move tpcview.app to /Applications, run it * This is not a signed application, so you have to do whatever is required to run non-MAS applications on your MacOS version. The application provides file associations for TPC & DDS files. Hopefully the DDS association will not override any you may already have for non-proprietary DDS files. ============================================================ How do I use it? Viewing Drag files in. They should show up. The files you drag in fill the window in a list that generally resembles the file input order. They all show at once, so there's a moderate memory requirement around loading many files at once. For example, loading the 5210 TPC files from TSL takes 2.25G memory on my machine, your mileage will vary. Mouse over images to get info about them in the window's title bar. Click images to toggle scaling the image to fit the window and viewing the information about them in the info panel at the bottom of the window. Double click the background of the window to clear all loaded images. Exporting Use modifier keys while dragging in order to get Export as TGA functionality. A description of the export activity you are requesting shows up in the info panel at the bottom while you are dragging. Export will occur while the file is being loaded. You cannot export already open images without dragging them in again. Files are exported into same directory as original TPC files being dragged, THEY WILL OVERWRITE EXISTING TGA FILES WITHOUT WARNING. When a TPC file is exported to TGA, a TXI file will also be generated if the original TPC file contained such information. When adding alpha blending value to TXI output, only non-1.0 values will be added (as 1.0 is considered default). ============================================================ Features View TPC format 32bpp, 24bpp, and 8bpp compressed and uncompressed images View Aurora proprietary DDS format 32bpp and 24bpp compressed images Export to TGA Export TXI files containing the texture extension information from TPC files Export all detail levels (mipmaps) present in original image file (can help debugging image compressors) Add an alpha blending value from the TPC header into exported TXI file outputs, i.e. '# alphablending 0.67' File association for TPC and DDS formats with provided file type icons Submitter ndix UR Submitted 01/30/2020 Category Modding Tools

This is a fairly simple reskin of Bastila, to make her textures look a bit better quality. There are lots of great people that make amazing HD reskins of KOTOR models, but Bastila hasn't been done yet, so I figured I'd make a temporary skin for people to use until someone makes a better one. This isn't really "HD" in my opinion. It's not perfect, at all. Maybe I'll work on it more in the future. Credits: Bioware, Fred, etc etc etc. Installation: Put in the Override folder of your KOTOR install folder

View File HD BoS:SR Portraits HD Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge (BoS:SR) Portraits for Knights of the Old Republic v1.0 - 20200119 by ndix UR (DeadlyStream user) This modification adds high resolution (1K) portrait images for the characters in the Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge modification. The portraits are rendered to match the poses, colors, and lighting of the original images as closely as possible given the following constraints: Only vanilla textures (and my own additional maps based on same) are used Because the playable characters can constitute a spoiler for the BoS:SR mod, I've put the list of characters and a combined preview image in the following Spoiler: Thanks to Silveredge9 for the blanket approval to use assets from his mods, without which I could not have released this package. If you are not using Silveredge9's Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge modification, this modification will not change your game in any way. You should though, because it's really rather good. tga2tpc ============================================================ Author: ndix UR Release: January 2020 Version: 2.1.0 ============================================================ Convert TGA images to TPC format for use in KotOR and TSL. TPC files contain the information from a TXI file (so the TXI file is no longer needed when a TPC file is used), and can be uncompressed or compressed with either DXT1 or DXT5. Advanced features like animation and cubemap layering are initiated by the presence of specific TXI directives like cube 1 and proceduretype cycle. For some reason, the game really wants normal maps to be in TPC format. This will let you create and use full 32-bit color normal maps without having to make them into simple height maps by using indexed color. The tool is free, open source, and cross-platform. Code is available at https://github.com/ndixUR/tga2tpc The app is written in javascript, built on Electron using three.js, jquery, bootstrap. ============================================================ How do I set it up? Windows: unzip the package, run tga2tpc.exe Mac: unzip the package, move tga2tpc.app to /Applications, run it * This is not a signed application, so you have to do whatever is required to run non-MAS applications on your MacOS version. ============================================================ How do I use it? Drag files in and hit start. There shouldn't be much more to it than that. Using square and/or power of 2 sized textures is a good idea (sometimes required), TXI information is optional, and the settings are pretty much self-explanatory. The nature of TPC alpha blending is not necessarily intuitive so you may need to seek information to use it properly. How Automatic encoding mode selects encoding for each texture in the queue: 24bpp TGA = DXT1 32bpp TGA = DXT5 8bpp TGA = 8bpp uncompressed isbumpmap1 or compresstexture 0 in TXI data = 24 or 32bpp uncompressed ============================================================ Features Create cubemaps Create animated textures Automatic compression selection based on trends from the vanilla game DXT1/5 Compression available (requires 2^n texture size) Horizontal/Vertical flip, for those pesky wrongly oriented TGA files Bicubic downsampling for mipmaps (precomputed lower detail versions of the texture, part of the TPC format) Control texture alpha blending setting (part of TPC format), can be loaded from TXI file comments of the form: "# alphablending 0.67" Known Issues Cannot create uncompressed animated textures. Using 4:1 and wider size ratios for individual frames of animated textures seem to crash the game. 2:1 is fine, 1:4 is fine, etc. Only for converting from TGA to TPC. For TPC to TGA, use Kotor Tool, xoreos-tools, etc. Progress bar doesn't update as often as you might want. Bicubic downsample is not fast. The package size is large. This is the cost of easy cross-platform GUI support. All electron applications are large like this. You are likely to have problems trying to read TGAs from folders containing markup entities/encoded characters (like ') ============================================================ Thanks DarthParametric for inciting the creation of this tool, and doing the testing. DrMcCoy and all the contributors to xoreos, whose TPC decoding implementation provided the basis for the TPC library herein. bead-v for moral support.

All 30 male and female vanilla player characters are provided, with all 5 light-dark variants, for a total of 150 new portraits. The 1K portraits have 256x the resolution of the 64x64 originals. The portraits are rendered to match the poses, colors, facial expressions, and lighting of the original images as closely as possible given the following constraints: Only vanilla textures (and my own additional maps based on same) are used A couple face textures had the eye in the wrong place and had to be fixed I reduced the number of background gradients to a set of 4 standards. The originals are all over the place in terms of the gradients and I didn't have time to replicate every one. An effort was made to match each individual set of portraits to its appropriate set of background gradients. While the textures are mostly crap, most of the work was in material setup using a modern rendering engine, so even the vanilla textures still wind up looking much better than they have any right to. This is because of real lights, shading, and materials, of which the original diffuse textures are only a part. I didn't really redo geometry, beyond appropriate use of subdivision surface modifiers. See the included images in preview/ for an idea of how the portraits look. The portraits are rendered to match the poses, expressions, colors, and lighting of the vanilla portraits as closely as possible given the following constraints: Only vanilla textures (and my own additional maps based on same) are used While the textures are quite low-res, most of the work was in material setup using a modern rendering engine, so even the vanilla textures still wind up looking much better than they have any right to. This is because of real lights, shading, and material properties, of which the original diffuse textures are only a part. I didn't really redo geometry, beyond appropriate use of edge split and subdivision surface modifiers. It also includes 1K versions of the darkened placeholder portraits before you meet characters in-game. BONUS There's a portrait for Trask Ulgo, because why not. Also I've included additional alternative non-vanilla expressions for Mission & Jolee because I don't care for their vanilla expressions. While working on the K1CP I discovered that there are actually three different Sith soldier textures. There's the red and the silver that we're all used to, but there's also a white one that is unused. This restores the white texture into the game. You have the option to either make the standard troopers white and the elite/command troopers silver, or vice-versa. INSTALL: Run the installer and select either Main OR Alternate. I recommend installing this AFTER the KOTOR 1 Community Patch and JC's Korriban: Back in Black if you use them. PERMISSION: I give anyone permission to do whatever the heck they want with this, whether or not they give me credit. (Although credit is always nice, y'know?)

This is achieved by a cylindrical texture. Since the vanilla textures were low res, inaccurate, and desaturated, I recreated the platforms in Maya and rendered them to look as they do in-game. The main planets, including M4-78, are all remastered in 4096x1024. I also include a version of the Nar Shaddaa cockpit texture that utilizes the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod by Sharen Thrawn. Additionally, I've upscaled and retouched the outer hull of the ship as seen from the cockpit. If you need downscaled versions, the Medium Resolution option provides 2048x512 resolution skyboxes while the Low Resolution option provides 1024x256 resolution skyboxes (the size from the vanilla game). I'm also offering these textures in TPC format, which tends to be 1/4th the size and download time of the uncompressed files. INSTALLATION -Drop all of the files from the main mod folder into your override folder. -If you want the cockpit texture that uses the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod, replace the EBO_Sky01.tga file with the one from the folder labeled With Nar Shaddaa Realistic Skybox. UNINSTALLATION -Delete the aforementioned files from your override folder. THANX Thanks to Photoshop, Maya, MDLOps, Gmax, KotORmax, GIMP, Blender, KotORBlender, and ESRGAN. Special Thanks to Sharen Thrawn for making the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod. Please don't repost this on other sites unless as part of a mod pack (with proper credit to me)
  17. So I'm having this issue in game where some of the textures, usually metal (which I believe should look shiny) looks very glossy. I understand that it is supposed to be shiny, but in my opinion, it looks glossy, almost as if it's wet. I'm not sure if this is a texture issue or a shader issue (or if it's something else altogether). Does anyone know what file is the source of this? I'd like to tone it down a bit if possible. If it's not possible, I'll probably try removing it from override and see how it without it. I'm using the GOG version of TSL, if that matters. I've attached screenshots to show an example of what I mean. It's most noticeable on droids. Thanks.

  20. Midst playthrough I decided to work on something for Loremaster Gjarshi, at least to make him somehow bit of distinctive compared to the other [Black] Rakatans inside the Black Rakatans Settlement. I might release it as one of the Legends installment. The One will also have his appearance altered. The main reason to have them wearing white clothing is no other than for variation. As black in Black Rakatan refers to their skin color, as the Loremaster himself told us - - Appears also in the screenshot is DeadMan's Quarterstaff Replacement Pack.

It's the console from M4-78. A high-res, animated take on the vanilla version. Includes an updated model for illuminated surfaces, non-mirrored screens, and restoration of two surfaces that were maybe originally intended to be screens but ended up as flat metallic surfaces. Also includes non-animated options. Knights of the Old Republic 2: TSL only.

This mod is a retexture of a majority of the effects for both Kotor 1 and Kotor 2. It basically started when I changed the spark texture, and then just kept on going. The mod assets are pretty simple to use, you just pick which texture you want to add to your game, and put them into your Override folder. The lightning has an alternate file in case you are interested in force lightning more akin to the movies (where it has no conjure animation) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pasted from Readme: {..) Description: This is a retexture of all of the effects in both Kotor games. It's simple in design, but has a huge impact on the look and feel of gameplay. Included are changes to the Sparks thrown when weapons impact enemies or walls, the lightning and drain effects, the fireball and ion explosion textures, the rain and snow textures in K2, the shape and size of the explosion particles, and an alternative texture to the mine detection overlay which makes them less like a bright red ball. {..>To Install: Drop all applicable files into the Override Folder. If you don't currently have an override folder, then you'll have to create one. I have separated the textures into corresponding folders for easier choice of what you would like to install The files are also separated by game, since Kotor 2 has rain and snow, while Kotor 1 does not. {..<To Uninstall, either remove or delete the files contained in this download from your Override folder. {..<Compatibility: This mod uses a few model .mdl and .mdx files in order to fully change the spark retexture. If you have any of them already in your override, they may conflict. {..>Possible Future Changes or Additions: I am considering changing the explosion animation file and if possible, the very structure of explosions. However, that will probably be a bit later after I have read more into the effects files. {..<Credits: Stevo and Rece for testing my Spark retexture to ensure compatibility, TriggerGod for his permission to use his lightning texture as a base Adobe for their Photoshop, Lucasarts as both Bioware and Obsidian for making the Kotor games, The very special community on DeadlyStream for their constant feedback and assistance, And lastly, George Lucas, for creating the Star Wars movies which has since spawned its ever expanding universe...
  24. I'm not extremely knowledgeable about this stuff and haven't seen anyone talk about it but I was hoping someone here knows something. The bump maps for the water textures are not showing up in vanilla TSL for Mac (from the App store). The texture is there and transparent but there is no "bumpyshinytexture" effect. I've attached a picture of this. The pictured texture is DAN_water03N, but it seems to be a problem with all water in the game. Also, I can override the texture file but I tried putting a new .txi with different effects or values to see if I could change anything like the transparency but it didn't seem to do anything. AFAIK this isn't just a problem with my computer; you can see it in this Youtube video at 20:26. It looks like he is using the Aspyr version, though I don't know if it is on Mac. I'm running macOS Mojave with Intel graphics. I know KOTOR is notoriously weird with these Intel cards but the water bump maps work fine in KOTOR 1 on the same computer so I'm hesitant to blame it on that. I was just wondering if anyone had insight into why this is happening? I doubt it would be a problem if there was an easy fix, but I'm just interested if anybody knows anything, or can confirm whether they've ever seen this with the Aspyr version on either Mac or Windows.

First of all: THIS IS TSLRCM/M4-78 COMPATIBLE (That's great news of course) Be sure to download every single file in the downloads! You don't want to miss out on all of the files! Hello there everyone! Guess what? I have another mod, third one this week. Now, then again these took a long time to do. Except since my internet was down for 4-5 days this week, I had a lot of time to work on this mod. What this mod does is replace the vanilla armors with new, HQ textures. This mod also (just like my K1 mod) replaces the stats to make you want to use the lighter armors. All of the armors and clothing replace the core games files. I adjusted the stats of every item (Except for clothing). I made it so that people would want to use the lighter armor, so be aware of the heavy armor. I'm really proud to say that I'm starting to work on more projects along with this one. The fact that I'm making these on a Mac make me want to keep making them, to "prove" to people that you can still mod on a Mac haha. The codes for all of the armors are the same as the vanilla codes, so look them up. I didn’t replace the games core game robes. I placed them randomly through the game. The codes for the robes (Although I'd prefer that you find them in their places inside of the game, are as follows: giveitem a_robe_50 (through) 60 Installation: Unzip all of the separate 7z files, and then place all of the files into the override. I really hope you guys enjoy this mod, be sure to make a review so that I can improve on anything!
