This mod is a retexture of a majority of the effects for both Kotor 1 and Kotor 2. It basically started when I changed the spark texture, and then just kept on going. The mod assets are pretty simple to use, you just pick which texture you want to add to your game, and put them into your Override folder. The lightning has an alternate file in case you are interested in force lightning more akin to the movies (where it has no conjure animation) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pasted from Readme: {..) Description: This is a retexture of all of the effects in both Kotor games. It's simple in design, but has a huge impact on the look and feel of gameplay. Included are changes to the Sparks thrown when weapons impact enemies or walls, the lightning and drain effects, the fireball and ion explosion textures, the rain and snow textures in K2, the shape and size of the explosion particles, and an alternative texture to the mine detection overlay which makes them less like a bright red ball. {..>To Install: Drop all applicable files into the Override Folder. If you don't currently have an override folder, then you'll have to create one. I have separated the textures into corresponding folders for easier choice of what you would like to install The files are also separated by game, since Kotor 2 has rain and snow, while Kotor 1 does not. {..<To Uninstall, either remove or delete the files contained in this download from your Override folder. {..<Compatibility: This mod uses a few model .mdl and .mdx files in order to fully change the spark retexture. If you have any of them already in your override, they may conflict. {..>Possible Future Changes or Additions: I am considering changing the explosion animation file and if possible, the very structure of explosions. However, that will probably be a bit later after I have read more into the effects files. {..<Credits: Stevo and Rece for testing my Spark retexture to ensure compatibility, TriggerGod for his permission to use his lightning texture as a base Adobe for their Photoshop, Lucasarts as both Bioware and Obsidian for making the Kotor games, The very special community on DeadlyStream for their constant feedback and assistance, And lastly, George Lucas, for creating the Star Wars movies which has since spawned its ever expanding universe...

DESCRIPTION When you land the Ebon Hawk on a planet, you are able to look out of the cockpit and view the landing platform. This is achieved by a cylindrical texture. Since the vanilla textures were low res, inaccurate, and desaturated, I recreated the platforms in Maya and rendered them to look as they do in-game. The main planets, including M4-78, are all remastered in 4096x1024. I also include a version of the Nar Shaddaa cockpit texture that utilizes the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod by Sharen Thrawn. If you need downscaled versions, the medium option provides 2048x512 resolution skyboxes while the low option provides 1024x256 resolution skyboxes (the size from the vanilla game). INSTALLATION -Drop the files from the main mod folder into your override folder. -If you want the cockpit texture that uses the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod, replace the EBO_Sky01.tga file with the one from the folder labeled "With Nar Shaddaa Realistic Skybox." UNINSTALLATION -Delete the aforementioned files from your override folder. THANX Thanks to Adobe Photoshop, Gmax, MDLOps, and Autodesk Maya Student Version. Special Thanks to Sharen Thrawn for making the Realistic Nar Shaddaa Skybox mod.
  4. I'm not extremely knowledgeable about this stuff and haven't seen anyone talk about it but I was hoping someone here knows something. The bump maps for the water textures are not showing up in vanilla TSL for Mac (from the App store). The texture is there and transparent but there is no "bumpyshinytexture" effect. I've attached a picture of this. The pictured texture is DAN_water03N, but it seems to be a problem with all water in the game. Also, I can override the texture file but I tried putting a new .txi with different effects or values to see if I could change anything like the transparency but it didn't seem to do anything. AFAIK this isn't just a problem with my computer; you can see it in this Youtube video at 20:26. It looks like he is using the Aspyr version, though I don't know if it is on Mac. I'm running macOS Mojave with Intel graphics. I know KOTOR is notoriously weird with these Intel cards but the water bump maps work fine in KOTOR 1 on the same computer so I'm hesitant to blame it on that. I was just wondering if anyone had insight into why this is happening? I doubt it would be a problem if there was an easy fix, but I'm just interested if anybody knows anything, or can confirm whether they've ever seen this with the Aspyr version on either Mac or Windows.

First of all: THIS IS TSLRCM/M4-78 COMPATIBLE (That's great news of course) Be sure to download every single file in the downloads! You don't want to miss out on all of the files! Hello there everyone! Guess what? I have another mod, third one this week. Now, then again these took a long time to do. Except since my internet was down for 4-5 days this week, I had a lot of time to work on this mod. What this mod does is replace the vanilla armors with new, HQ textures. This mod also (just like my K1 mod) replaces the stats to make you want to use the lighter armors. All of the armors and clothing replace the core games files. I adjusted the stats of every item (Except for clothing). I made it so that people would want to use the lighter armor, so be aware of the heavy armor. I'm really proud to say that I'm starting to work on more projects along with this one. The fact that I'm making these on a Mac make me want to keep making them, to "prove" to people that you can still mod on a Mac haha. The codes for all of the armors are the same as the vanilla codes, so look them up. I didn’t replace the games core game robes. I placed them randomly through the game. The codes for the robes (Although I'd prefer that you find them in their places inside of the game, are as follows: giveitem a_robe_50 (through) 60 Installation: Unzip all of the separate 7z files, and then place all of the files into the override. I really hope you guys enjoy this mod, be sure to make a review so that I can improve on anything!

    HD UI Menu Pack

    Version 1.1

    3,595 downloads

HD UI Menu Pack for Knights of the Old Republic v1.1 - 20180318 by ndix UR (DeadlyStream user) This modification adds high resolution UI menu textures. 2K is the base resolution. The content is redrawn vector art, no modified scale-ups here. It is focused on menu backgrounds, and includes some of the overlay components for the menus. Pure Vanilla (PV) Edition aims to provide the closest match to the original menu texture assets. This mod doesn't touch a lot of the 'extra' menu-like GUI elements yet, such as the galaxy screen, computer interfaces, pazaak, etc. It also doesn't mess with the main menu at all yet. Requirements You must be running menus at a high resolution for this to really work. At the default menu size, this mod will probably look bad. You must have KotOR High Resolution Menus or an equivalent mod installed for good results. Known Issues The original textures were for 640x480 menus. The 4x sized textures in this package would look best at 2560x1920, which nobody really uses. If your display is less than 2560px width, you may experience seams where different textures are intended to meet seamlessly. The game just isn't that good at scaling UI textures with alpha channels used for transparency. There's nothing I can really do about it. There are some sprites in the menu processes that haven't made it into the package yet. They may sometime. I've added x/y clamping to some textures that should have transparent edges over 3D backgrounds. It makes the transparent edges work well, but the diffuse edges work less well. It seems you can't have it both ways, and this is the trade off. Install / Uninstall To install, copy the files from the package Override/ folder to the Override/ folder for your KOTOR game installation. To uninstall, remove the TPC files for this package from your KOTOR game Override/ folder. 11. Greetings, fellow Jedi! Have a good day y'all. I have a question - just like the title says; What is clamp -in KotOR implementation- that were oftenly used with most player heads? I asked of this because earlier I fiddle around with LSP_planettari01* by using this parameter - blending punchthrough clamp 3 on the TXI and then the planet's gone. The alpha were applied appropriately, because later when I used only this - blending punchthrough the planet's there. Many thanks for considering this, and may the Force be with you! _____ __ _____ * Taris planet texture that were used in the turret mini-game backdrop
  12. Just a simple information to share to save ones from getting burnt-out, lol. Why we don't want to use TPC format for lightmaps? It broke the maps When put into a module/MOD file, it crashes your game upon reloading and/or exiting the game Stick only with the TGA for that one...
  13. File Name: HD NPC Portraits File Submitter: ndix UR File Submitted: 03 Mar 2018 File Category: Skins K1R Compatible: Yes HD NPC Portraits for Knights of the Old Republic v1.1 - 20180306 by ndix UR (DeadlyStream user) This modification adds high resolution rendered portrait images for NPCs. The 1K portraits have 256x the resolution of the 64x64 originals. The portraits are rendered to match the poses, colors, and lighting of the vanilla portraits as closely as possible given the following constraints: Unable to adjust facial expressions via skin deformation Only vanilla textures (and my own additional maps based on same) are used While the textures are quite low-res, most of the work was in material setup using a modern rendering engine, so even the vanilla textures still wind up looking much better than they have any right to. This is because of real lights, shading, and material properties, of which the original diffuse textures are only a part. That said, only materials that could be divided along existing geometry were separated, which prevented me from being able to do some things I would have liked to, especially for HK & T3. I didn't really redo geometry, beyond appropriate use of edge split and subdivision surface modifiers. It also includes 1K versions of the darkened placeholder portraits before you meet characters in-game. BONUS There's a portrait for Trask Ulgo, because why not. This package includes a portrait for Shadow, from Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge. If you are not using that mod, you don't need the included PO_channa.tpc. BOS:SR includes many portraits, maybe I will do a separate package for them. Thanks to Silveredge9 for the blanket approval to use assets from his mods, without which I would not have released Shadow. INSTALL / UNINSTALL To install, copy the TPC files from the package Override/ folder to the Override/ folder for your KOTOR game installation. To uninstall, remove the TPC files for this package from your KOTOR game Override/ folder. This is a fairly simple reskin of Bastila, to make her textures look a bit better quality. There are lots of great people that make amazing HD reskins of KOTOR models, but Bastila hasn't been done yet, so I figured I'd make a temporary skin for people to use until someone makes a better one. This isn't really "HD" in my opinion. It's not perfect, at all. Maybe I'll work on it more in the future. Credits: Bioware, Fred, etc etc etc. Installation: Put in the Override folder of your KOTOR install folder

Have you ever noticed that Mira's poofy hair looks like a split top dinner roll? Her hairstyle in the concept art is wonderful and I always felt that her head model just kind of missed the mark. So I made some seriously heavy edits to the model and texture of PFHC05 until I came up with something a little more fitting for our friendly neighborhood bounty hunter. Her clothes have new colors to match the new vibe she's got going on also, and I reworked the neckline of her shirt a little. No .2da files in this so it's just a drag and drop installation. --corpsecotillion
  16. Greetings, fellow Jedi! May the Force be with you all. I need help with guessing; what texture is used with the windows inside the Ent. Promenade: Pazaak Den and Cantina? Here's a screenshot of it for details: As seen in the screenshot there is indeed a texture which blends with the windows. I have found a promising instance tagged as NAR_Wn02, but it seems it wasn't the texture; as any change made with the said tag, no change matters. I hope someone that had experience with the said texture can chime in and help me point to it; either to the room model or straight to the texture itself. Many thanks for considering this. Update: Welp, of all the possibilities- the texture tagged as DAN_Wn02. Using the whereami band I can finally locate the module's name and pointing the particular mesh by opening the room model [306_NAR variant]. Thank you for all considered been made! 🙏
  17. Like many in the community I was excited by the allowance of TOR content in KOTOR, I eagerly downloaded the headmeshes released for both games and sat while twiddiling my thumbs waiting for more content. Quickly realizing that those people in question had lives and were busy, I decided to take the initiative and create my own icon port for KOTOR 1 and KOtor 2. Keep in mind I am tired of seeing so many people say that they are going to post content and never do, so I swear to post some of this tonight. I hope to have different icon sets themed around whatever the player wants to play as (neutra, jedi sith) but lets be realistic. Ambitious projects die and go, but I hope to post a few snippits of this mod later this evening for download for the general public in case my vodka fueled modding spree peters out later tonight.

It is a truth universally yadda yadda: the lady Scoundrel's starting gear looks uncomfortable. Put bluntly, F!Scoundrel has a stupendous wedgie. Her butt crack is alarmingly defined through her leggings AND underwear--which should not be happening unless those leggings are, like, industrial-vacuum-sealed. Which would be painful. And impractical. And also painful. Overall, not conducive to running around an exploding starship while fighting Sith troopers. So I fixed it. I gave the female Scoundrel basic clothing a bit of a tune-up, making the butt crack less egregious and tweaking the texture to match. May these new and improved trousers bear your Scoundrels to a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing victory! Effusive burbling gratitude to forgetcanon, for extracting those pesky .mdl and .mdx files and for being a source of endless support and patience during my first foray into modding.

tga2tpc ============================================================ Author: ndix UR Release: August 2018 Version: 1.5.1 ============================================================ Convert TGA images to TPC format for use in KotOR and TSL. TPC files contain the information from a TXI file (so the TXI file is no longer needed when a TPC file is used), and can be uncompressed or compressed with either DXT1 or DXT5. Advanced features like animation and cubemap layering are initiated by the presence of specific TXI directives like cube 1 and proceduretype cycle. For some reason, the game really wants normal maps to be in TPC format. This will let you create and use full 32-bit color normal maps without having to make them into simple height maps by using indexed color. The tool is free, open source, and cross-platform. Code is available at https://github.com/ndixUR/tga2tpc The app is written in javascript, built on Electron using three.js, jquery, bootstrap. ============================================================ How do I set it up? Windows: unzip the package, run tga2tpc.exe Mac: unzip the package, move tga2tpc.app to /Applications, run it * This is not a signed application, so you have to do whatever is required to run non-MAS applications on your MacOS version. ============================================================ How do I use it? Drag files in and hit start. There shouldn't be much more to it than that. Using square and/or power of 2 sized textures is a good idea (sometimes required), TXI information is optional, and the settings are pretty much self-explanatory. The nature of TPC alpha blending is not necessarily intuitive so you may need to seek information to use it properly. ============================================================ Features Create cubemaps Create animated textures DXT1/5 Compression available (requires 2^n texture size) Horizontal/Vertical flip, for those pesky wrongly oriented TGA files Bicubic downsampling for mipmaps (precomputed small versions of the texture, part of the TPC format) Control texture alpha blending setting Known Issues Cannot create uncompressed animated textures. Only for converting from TGA to TPC. For TPC to TGA, use Kotor Tool, xoreos-tools, etc. Progress bar doesn't update as often as you might want. Bicubic downsample is slow. I recommend only using it for final conversions, not testing. The package size is large. This is the cost of easy cross-platform GUI support. All electron applications are large like this. You are likely to have problems trying to read TGAs from folders containing markup entities/encoded characters (like ') ============================================================ Thanks DarthParametric for inciting the creation of this tool, and doing the testing. DrMcCoy and all the contributors to xoreos, whose TPC decoding implementation provided the basis for the TPC library herein. bead-v for moral support.

HD NPC Portraits for Knights of the Old Republic v1.1 - 20180306 by ndix UR (DeadlyStream user) This modification adds high resolution rendered portrait images for NPCs.
