Switch KotOR Modding romFS Dummy Folder with 1.0.3 dialog.tlk This is a set of files and folders designed to make modding the Switch version of KotOR easier and more accessible to a novice user. Read to the end before using. You will need a hackable, or modchipped Switch to use this, and custom firmware must be installed, I use Atmosphere, but anything that supports romFS should be fine. This should work just fine with the digital or physical version (when it is released) without issue. I have only tested this on the most up-to-date build at this time, 1.0.3. It may work on 1.0.2 or 1.0.1, but it is not guaranteed, and I'm not concerned with supporting them. Extract the zip file, and install any mods you want to use, pointing TSLPatcher at the romfs folder containing the dialog.tlk file. For mods that don't use TSLPatcher, copy files as directed, "romfs" is equivalent to the directory on PC containing the executable. NOTE: You may need to move files that TSLPatcher is expecting to the folder to be able to patch them. You can access them by dumping your game with nxdumptool, using romfs. Make sure you include updates when doing so. Feel free to comment with what you needed, and what mod it was for, and if there is popular demand, I will add the files to this pack. The easiest way I found, was just to try installing a mod, and then check the log for errors to see what files were missing. NOTE: Long filenames cause issues with TSLPatcher, this is exacerbated by the length of the filepath for romFS modding. I recommend moving the "romfs" folder to the root of the drive and patching there, moving the folder back afterwards. Make sure to check your error log, you may manually need to copy .lip files over to override afterwards. Move textures (.tga, .txi and .tpc) to override/Textures or they won't apply. NOTE: Aspyr included upscaled textures with this version that are not in other releases of the game. As far as I can tell, they are all in the format the original textures were in, by and large, that means they are in .tpc format, which trumps .tga and .txi files of the same name. If you have issues with a mod's textures not applying, try converting them to .tpc with Xoreos-Tools. You can download my texture reversion mods for K1 and K2 on Switch if you want to see what files are in what format. At this point, copy the atmosphere folder to the root of your SD card, and you should be done. Please feel free to mention any issues you run into, or workarounds you needed, and I'll update this post. I tested a run of K1CP with no major issues. Mods that involve UI likely won't work. Everything is at your own risk, you may end up with a broken save, etc. Worst case scenario, you can uninstall all mods by deleting the `0100854015868000` folder from `/atmosphere/contents/` Big thanks to JC for helping me pin this all down. 7-22-2022 Update: Just a change to the readme regarding potential texture issues.
  2. Copying the outline of Stoney's old list of content outlined in his "What's Restored In TSLRCM" thread on DeadlyStream: [R] - Restored [PR] - Partially Restored [RM] - Restored but Moved to another area [NR] - Not Restored [O] - Optimized (As-in, not really a restoration, but an alteration to make sense or keep with the game's text...) [iF] - Inconsistency Fix (As-in, not really a restoration, but a alteration to keep the game consistent with itself...) General [R] - Impossible Difficulty [R] - You can now ask Juhani why she is so hostile towards Canderous. [R] - Juhani will now speak of the evils of Korriban. [R] - You can now ask Juhani about the planets you are on. [R] - Juhani now properly shows up for the Post-Leviathan cutscene. [R] - Restored .BIK movies [NR] - Sleheyron (Basically like M4-78... Most of the content would be fan-made) [NR] - Tatooine Temple (Too much work to restore and no content to put there) [NR] - Carth's warning about the Katarn. (No Carth VOs) [NR] - Sand People Messiah (No HK VOs) Endar Spire [R/O] - Trask had an incomplete/broken soundset. Taris [R] - Carth's initial dialogue when you're tossing and turning in your bed. [R] - Bribing Sarna or Yun Genda if you're a girl or guy, respectively. You have to pay them to get to the party with them to acquire a suit of Sith Armor. [O] - Sith Guard at the Elevator checks that everyone in the party is wearing a set of Sith Armor [R] - A cut out PC response to Niklos. [R] - A serving droid in the Taris Upper City Cantina. [R] - You can now speak to the Duel Announcer outside of the arena. [R] - Lower City citizens and Hidden Beks wandering the streets, similar to the Vulkars already present. [R] - Able to access the Swoop Platform separately from The Race. [R] - Gadon takes both Sith Armors instead of just one. [R] - Glow Rod in Taris Sewers [R] - Cut Vulkar Base Sublevel - This is an in-between section for the Vulkar Base, where the first level could be called "A", this restored level "B", and the Vulkar Garage "C". [R] - Various Droid Items including the infamous Oil Slick. [NR] - Buying a Sith Base Passcard off of Yun Genda or Sarna - This would allow one to completely skip T3, who is considered integral to the plot/canon. [NR] - Able to buy T3 without Canderous's Permission - Again, for plot purposes, as this would also allow one to enter the base incredibly early... Dantooine [R] - Crattis Yukal offering/demanding to buy crystals you harvest from the Crystal Caves. [R] - Shuma the Hutt can now be talked to on Dantooine. [R] - An arguing master and apprentice can now be found on Dantooine (Garrum and Tar'leek). [R] - Items have been restored to the Jedi Enclave Footlockers. [R] - Carth commenting about the Kath Hounds before you enter the plains. [R] - Republic Security telling the PC to be careful of Kath Hounds on the plains. [R] - Iriaz now roam the plains and are the prey of the Kath Hounds. [R] - Bastila now comments on the crystals in the cave. [R] - Carth now comments on the droids in the Sandral Estate. [R] - Able to make an indecent proposal to Rahasia or Shen, depending on gender. [R] - Sharina Fizzark now appears on Dantooine depending on your choices. [iF] - References to Sleheyron have now been removed from the Star Map room as you cannot go to Sleheyron. [iF] - Juhani now starts out with her default outfit instead of Jedi robes. Tatooine [R] - Wandering bands of Jawas in the Dune Sea [R] - Bastila has extra dialog about her mother. [R] - A second guy helping guard the gates to the Dune Sea. [NR] - Cut Tatooine Temple - Not enough content [NR] - Fight with the Krayt Dragon - Lack of/weird animations. FS Note: I will at the very least look into the model and the difficulties with realistically animating it... [NR] - Sand People Messiah/Free Tatooine of Czerka - Not restored due to lack of HK-47 VO that would be needed. [iF] - You can no longer ask Niko where to buy swoop upgrades as you cannot upgrade your swoop. [iF] - The dialog of the droid merchant on Tatooine has been altered to make it clear he does not sell swoop upgrades. Kashyyyk [NR] - Carth's Warning before heading into the Shadowlands - No VO to support the line... [R] - Fighting alongside Jolee [R] - Alternate line for Jolee when asking him to bring down the force field. [R] - Rulan Prolik shape-shifting into your party members [R] - Rough-Cut Wookie Amulet added back into the game as a reward from the Wookie Hunter. [iF] - Jolee now starts out with his default outfit instead of Jedi robes. Manaan [R] - Duan\Viglo getting drunk - This allows you to get a Sith Base Passcard to enter the Sith Base through the front door... [R] - Deadeye Duncan now appears on Manaan. [R] - The Echani Mercenary. [R] - There is now a busy waitress in the same module as Duan/Viglo. [O] - A video-playback of the Republic's hidden camera on Sunry's meeting with Elassa. [R] - Taking certain party members with you under the Sea Floor. [R] - Pazaak Tournament on Manaan - Talk to the Swoop Organizer [iF] - The dialog of the junk merchant on Manaan has been altered to make it clear he does not sell swoop upgrades. Leviathan [R] - Major Hurka - An injured officer who might help you get to Admiral Karath... [R] - The Dead Body of Crattis Yurkal can now be found on the Leviathan. Korriban [R] - Lots of bartender dialogue [NR] - Party in Naga Sadow's Tomb [NR] - Bastila on Korriban [iF] - Yuthura and Uthar's clothing is now consistent throughout Korriban. Unknown World [R] - Rancor Grenades to help clear out the area [R] - Wraids and Wraid Handler in the Temple. [R] - Injured Sith Apprentice [R] - Cold Serum and "Cold atmosphere" in the Catacombs. Star Forge [R] - Restored Dark Side Female ending with Carth

Don't you hate it when you get a cool looking item at the endgame but it has early game stats. Because i do. So i made the Wookiee Warblade a bit more useful. (If you already been to the Black Rakatan Settlement or you have the item in your inventory you need to use KotOR Savegame Editor to remove the original item then add the moded one to your inventory.)

  7. I have a tendency to collect Lightsabers, both in real life from SaberForge and Ultrasabers, and in my Kotor 2 (and sometimes 1) override folder. I have pretty much all of Jorn's hilts, Holowan designs, etc., but I really love the standalone hilt mods out there like the Valorous Knight's Lightsaber or the Kyle Katarn hilt. So would anyone be willing to drop any Saber Hilt mods in this thread that I might be able to add to my Override for either game? Really it can be anything, so long as it's something you made that you don't mind someone else using in their game. Thank you!

WARNING: 11/29/22 - It appears that the "big" font size category is causing crashes for people attempting to open certain lockboxes in the Taris Undercity. Other sizes, such as "verybig", are unaffected. I will be working to recreate and fix this issue over the weekend. For now, I recommend players either choose a size that isn't "big" or uninstall this mod until the issue is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience! Have you tried playing KOTOR 1 at high resolution? Then you may have noticed the text does not scale properly. As a result, text can look embarassingly small. Fortunately, this mod contains an assortment of font files that the game can use. They are organized by various sizes with the 3 kinds of text the game uses; they are also interchangeable! Using these files should give players an easier time when playing in high resolutions, customizable to everyone's needs. Hopefully everyone who wishes to play KOTOR 1 in high resolution will have a more enjoyable experience, and that one of the more common problems facing the community has been properly addressed. The attached file is a compressed archive that contains a ReadMe file, and a folder containing each set of fonts. READ THE README FILE BEFORE INSTALLING! The ReadMe contains an important explanation of what each font folder is, and instructions as to how to properly install the mod. Improper installation could lead to very unreadable text! DISCLAIMERS: You will NOT be able to see small numbers, the count of grenades for example, via the HUD. This is a problem with the game itself & how it handles larger text inside smaller HUD elements; I am unable to fix this. The game is simply too old and we don't have access to its source code (yet). This mod is NOT compatible with KOTOR 2 TSL. This mod only exclusively works with KOTOR 1. If you are using the Steam or Mobile versions of KOTOR 2, you shouldn't be experiencing this problem anyways. As far as I know, there are no compatibility issues with other mods. However, if you come across any problems or something not working as intended, please let me know here or via my Discord: Xela#6419 If you are only playing the game at 1080p or less, this mod may not be necessary. Text only stops scaling up to 1080p resolution (as far as I know). It's possible this mod will only cause issues if you play the game at less than 1080p resolution. These fonts were NOT my creation! They were found and extracted from the Russian 🇷🇺 version of KOTOR which inexplicably has larger fonts with a variety of sizes, on top of being able to work in English as well. I was also not the first person to discover these files, that credit belongs to user Drazgar! https://deadlystream.com/profile/44945-drazgar/ I do not claim these files to be my own, I simply uploaded them here to share with the community after not finding them anywhere else.

Description: As I've explored all the mods which adjust and improve the textures and models for various objects and people in the game, I've noticed that surprisingly little attention has been given to modifying the appearance or look of one NPC in particular: Davik Kang, the crime lord and leader of the Exchange crime syndicate on Taris. While he doesn't have much actual screen time, he is quite important to much of the Taris section of the game. Although the tastes and opinions of people will vary wildly on this, I always felt like his appearance was rather "clunky" as he always seemed to be wearing his armor. Despite the fact that this is understandable, it would seem more fitting for an important crime-lord and de-facto important "noble" of Taris to be dressed rather formal or fancy given how others of his profession and rank are typically dressed. It would not be far-fetched to assume one in his position could wear a robe or formal jacket with body armor underneath for protection while maintaining a more "polished" look on the outside. I've included a custom skin and ported model from Kotor II for Davik's outer vestments, as well as a sharper-textured tpc file for his head that is included in the K2 game files. Installation: Just run the TSLPatcher the direct it to your game file To Uninstall: Remove the files from your Override folder and add the backup .2da file to it Copyright: Anyone is welcome to use my models and textures, just please ask first and be sure to give me credit UPDATE: New version includes texture of his robe without the military medals, as requested Thanks to: Effix, N-DReW25, Thor110, and others for giving me the basics of porting models and assigning textures in the game Legal: THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT SUPPORTED BY BIOWARE/OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT, LUCASARTS, DISNEY OR ANY LICENSERS/SPONSORS OF THE MENTIONED COMPANIES. This mod corrects companion stats. Also makes dark side Bastila level 3. WARNING: This mod is made to be compatible with as many mods a possible. This means sometimes during the installation process you get error messages dou to the way the installer handles thing. Don't panic, this is normal, the mod will work just fine. If the companion already joined your party the changes will not apply. You need to start a new game or load an earlier save. List of changes: Bastila: - Awareness Skill 4 -> 6 - Treat Injury Skill 4 -> 6 - Fixed a bug that caused some of her textures to be transparent. - Her dark side version is level 3 now. Same stats but evil and has dark side powers (Stun -> Fear, Force Aura -> Wound). Juhani: - Stealth Skill 5 -> 4 - Awareness Skill 8 -> 7 - Treat Injury Skill 8 -> 7 T3-M4: - Demolitions Skill 1 -> 3 - Swapped Combat Droid and Expert Droid feat gain tables. (-3 feats for T3) Zaalbar: - Hit Points 52 -> 60 (This bug goes away if you level him up, but i fixed it anyway.) Jolee: - Awareness Skill 5 -> 7 - Treat Injury Skill 4 -> 6 HK-47: - Hit Points 66 -> 78 - Demolitions Skill 5 -> 7 - Awareness Skill 5 -> 7 - Repair Skill 6 -> 8 - He has Improved Power Blast now to match the number of feats Combat Droids gain on their first 6 levels. - Swapped Combat Droid and Expert Droid feat gain tables. Improves the AI of KotOR 1. Changes: - Companions and most other NPCs use blaster feats (except droids their animations are buggy) - Enemy forceusers now use Force Breach and Lightsaber Throw (previously the AI ignored these force powers completely) - Enemy forceusers now use force buffs more often (Force Speed, Force Armor ect...) - NPCs with the Force Jump feat actually do force jumps if they are further than 10m from the target - Enemys reactivate shields after 200s - Some minor bug fixes - Jedi Support AI reworked - NPCs use Master Rapid Shot or Master Flurry if available instead of the default attack - NPCs use the highest level of feats and force powers available to them - The AI now uses feats granted by items - Once the player reaches a high enough level, the Jedi Support AI no longer uses low level force buffs, because they became obsolete - Companions now heal every team member properly not just the one controlled by the player (injury check fix)

Tired of seeing the same five people everywhere on Taris? Struggling to tell the Vulkars and Beks apart? Want your named quest-givers to stand out in a crowd? Then this is your mod. Uses TSLPatcher to make the following changes: [Main Mod] The serving staff now has a uniform more or less: red for Upper City, green for Javyar's Cantina. (Note: I chose to leave Gerlon in his red clothes with the logic that he's actively trying to blend into the background given that he's, y'know. A scammer.) Kandon Ark is now orange, and his bodyguard is green. Zelkor and Gurney both wear green now. Like unofficial Tarisian scrubs. Davik's Agent uses an alternate Black Commoner model, as does Hudron. Throughout the Lower City: Various modifications to the Vulkars and Beks to a) give them a little more gender/species equality and b) to color-code the gangs/alien stock models. Now when Matrik says you aren't in Hidden Bek colors, it might actually make sense. Beks: Blue/aqua Vulkars: Orange/red (Note: I left Davik's Estate unchanged. Based on Canderous's intro scene, it seems like Davik has an arrangement with the swoop gangs--either officially or on an individual basis. Indentured servitude: the Exchange at its finest.) In the Undercity: Hester now uses the Black Female Dirty Commoner model so she's not identical to both vanilla!Shaleena and one of the rakghoul victims. The Gate Guard Trewin has his name back. Igear is now Asian, while both of the beggars use different Black Commoner models (because we already have Gurney fullfilling almost the same role and that's just unfairly lazy). The Republic Soldier is in uniform. [Unique Heads] Dia now has a unique head based off PFHA02. Matrik has Zhar's head and wears Cinnegar Weave Armor. Holdan now has a unique head based off Dustil's, giving him a scruffy beard as well as a scar from Dia's vibroblade. Unique heads for Ice, Gerlon, and Marl based off PFHC03, PMHC05, and Gendar respectively, and a unique jumpsuit for Twitch colored to match the combat suits of his fellow duelists. Rukil has whiter hair, blue eyes, and a few tattoos/brands marking him as an Outcast and believer in the Promised Land. On the Swoop Track: Phirk gets a teal-colored jumpsuit to make him stand out while still following the Bek color scheme, while Redros has greener skin than his fellow Nikto and Doba has a morph of a regular and lite Rodian. [Undercity Culture] Gives all the Undercity commoners tattoos that say "Outcast" in Aurebesh. They aren't too obvious, but they do exist. [Optional Asian Shaleena] Gives Shaleena a unique Asian head based primarily on PFHA05. [Davik's Gamorrean Guest] Changes Davik's Rodian guest into a Gamorrean. For the lols.
