Either one of the load screens can be desaturated. I was planning on doing desaturated versions for the default mod, but I’m so in love with the colored versions that it makes it hard. I am not sure why people think the first one matches the style better. They are both just screenshots of the area like everywhere else in the game 🤷‍♂️ But maybe it does match better. The first screenshot is very similar to one angle from an original screenshot. The second is from a section of the street that I created from scratch with no real template to base it on. I’ll post up desaturated versions of both and maybe that will help decide. Here's both desaturated: I agree that the Option 1 looks much better than Option 2 when desaturated. I'm thinking the best course is, as others have suggested, Option 1 for default loadscreen, and Option 2 for Loadscreens With Color Add-on.

Hey everyone! I have exciting news! A Crashed Republic Cruiser On A Nameless World is now open for beta testing! If you're interested, please send me a PM! In addition, I'm also looking for 1-2 voice actors (psst @Zhaboka ) as well as someone who's strong in dialogue writing/editing to peruse my dialogues and help clean them up and make them sound better.

Yes, I do believe Option 1 for the loading screen should be used by default for the modification. And the color should match that of the original loading screens as well, just like N-DReW25 pointed out. Option 2 can be colored and made part of the Loadscreens in Color mod just like SH suggested.

Just to clarify, you can’t use two load screens for the same module. These are both options for the same module. It wouldn’t make sense to use one in another area that isn’t the street. Thank you everyone for your thoughts. If anyone else wants to chime in, I am still undecided.

Getting back in the swing of things after being gone a week on vacation. The street module is all walkmeshed, blocks cameras, has aurora lights, and a minimap. All that's left is the path file, which are still proving a bit finnicky. Most of those are dynamic things that are difficult to see in a screenshot, so I'll try to do a video in the next few weeks to showcase some of the improvements. Also I will try to add in NPCs and such before then. Next I will be switching gears, working on the Arena Hall/entrance area and attempting to setup some gladiator fights.

The K1 Community Patch (K1CP) is a compilation of previous bugfix mods and a multitude of new original fixes put together with the intention of resolving the many and various issues that KOTOR has. This includes some well-known game breaking bugs/softlocks, broken quests, inaccessible content, as well as lesser issues such as problems in conversations, visual inconsistencies, player annoyances, etc. The intention is for the changes to be as seamless as possible, fixing and improving things whilst still retaining the original developer intent. A huge thanks to all of the mod authors who created these mods, and allowed them to be included in this patch! Unfortunately, the individual list of changes has grown far too long to be included in this post. However, you can view a detailed breakdown of each author's individual contributions in the included readme file and a summary of the changes the current version has made since the previous release in the changelog file. List of Contributing Authors (alphabetical): A Future Pilot blennus danil-ch darthbdaman DarthParametric Ebmar Frykas Gimmick5000 jc2 JCarter426 Kainzorus Prime Kexikus KOTOR 1 Restoration Team Leilukin Markus Ramikin N-DReW25 ndix UR R2-X2 Red Hessian Salk th3w1zard1 Thrak Farelle WildKarrde Installation: Run INSTALL.exe and navigate to your K1 install folder. Generally speaking, this mod should be installed before anything else, except mods that do hard edits/overwrites of 2DA, TLK or MOD (module) files. Warning: Never run the installer from inside the archive! Always extract the archive onto your hard drive first. N.B.: With the advent of version 1.10.0, K1CP has migrated away from the use of TSLPatcher and switched to HoloPatcher. This allows for additional patching functionality and resolves some bugs encountered with TSLPatcher. HoloPatcher is also multi-platform. The bundled installer is the Windows version, but Mac and Linux users can download the appropriate installer for their system here. It is highly recommended that you do not install the game on your system's C drive, especially in Program Files. Windows can have permissions issues when trying to install the mod to a C drive destination. If you are using the Steam version of the game and have installed Steam in its default Program Files location, we advise creating a new Steam Library on a different drive and moving the game there via the game's Properties pop-up in Steam. Translation: The mod now has translations in French and Russian, available as separate patches. To use, first download the base K1CP v1.10.0 archive and extract it to your harddrive. Download your translation patch of choice and extract its contents into K1CP's tslpatchdata folder. Proceed to install the mod as normal. Compatibility/Known Issues: K1CP uses module injection in an attempt to remain as compatible as possible with other mods. This may result in issues with mods that simply put files in the Override folder. It is recommended that you consult the individual authors of any large scale mods, particularly those that edit DLGs and scripts, as to whether their work is compatible with K1CP. Some mods will likely require updates, some may need to be installed in a specific order, whilst others may be fundamentally incompatible. K1CP currently only supports the English language version of the game, and makes a number of edits to the TLK file in English. If anyone is able to provide translations of these changes to other languages, please let us know. The KOTOR 1 Restoration (K1R) mod is incompatible with K1CP, however there is ongoing work to re-create the K1R mod for K1CP: https://deadlystream.com/files/file/2345-restored-content-for-k1cp-demo/ These are the currently known bugs/issues with KOTOR or the mod that the K1CP is looking to resolve: https://github.com/KOTORCommunityPatches/K1_Community_Patch/issues If you find any others, especially with changes/additions K1CP makes, please report them on the Github issue page or here on Deadly Stream so they can be addressed. Be sure to include as much information as possible, including a list of all the other mods you have installed, the order you installed them in, steps to reproduce the problem, along with screenshots and save files, if appropriate. You may also be directed to provide the install log file, a list of the contents of your Override folder, and specific MOD files from your modules folder. Uninstallation: Given the complexity of this mod, a clean install of KOTOR is the recommended approach for uninstalling K1CP. However, HoloPatcher does provide uninstall Shell (Bash) and PowerShell scripts which will work as long as K1CP was the most recent mod installed. A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Author: N-DReW25 1.3.0 Release Date: 25.02.2023 Installation: Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod! If you intend to play with DarthParametric's Dark Jedi Wear Robes then you'll have to install that mod BEFORE Sith Stalkers [K1]. To install Sith Stalkers [K1], simply click on this mod's TSLPatcher.exe, click install, sit back and watch the TSLPatcher do its magic. Description: In 2012, on a modding forum not so far away, the modder "reapper" made a mod that added the Sith Stalker Armor from the 2008 video game "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". Not long after this, a modder by the name of "DeadMan" ported reapper's mod to K1. In 2014, another modder named "Constar" made a mod called "proper Sith Assassins" that essentially converted the Sith Assassins in TSL into Sith Stalkers from TFU. In 2017, a modder called "N-DReW25" made a parody of Constar's "Proper Sith Assassins" by replacing the Dark Jedi NPCs with DeadMan's Sith Stalkers. Now, in 2022, 10 years after reapper's original Sith Stalker release and 5 years after the release of the K1 Proper Sith Assassin's mod, N-DReW25 has reorganized the Proper Sith Assassin's mod into the FIRST GALACTIC- *Cough*- into the Sith Stalkers [K1] mod. This mod will no longer replace ALL of the Dark Jedi NPCs as the old mod did, instead, you will now find Sith Stalkers alongside the Dark Jedi NPCs across the galaxy in places such as: * Tatooine * Kashyyyk * Manaan * Korriban * Lehon * The Leviathan * The Star Forge The only difference between the Sith Stalker NPCs and the usual Dark Jedi NPCs is that their names are now "Sith Stalker" and their soundsets have been switched to the Sith Soldier soundset. As of version 1.2.0, the Sith Stalkers are exactly the same as their vanilla counterparts in terms of difficulty. Perhaps in future updates I may choose to make the Sith Stalker NPCs a tad harder then the Dark Jedi NPCs. Known Bugs: This mod shouldn't have bugs but if there is Just PM me on Deadlystream.com Incompatibilities: Will be compatible with Dark Jedi mods if you install them BEFORE Sith Stalkers [K1]. If your mod modifies the Dark Jedi NPCs modified in my mod, feel free to leave a comment and I will tell you if that mod is compatible or not. DarthParametric's Dark Jedi Wear Robes mod, for example, is compatible with my mod as I only replace a small handful of Dark Jedi with Sith Stalkers, thus meaning if you install DP's mod first and mine second then you'll see Dark Jedi in Robes alongside Sith Stalkers. Report any unknown incompatibilities to me on Deadlystream.com Permissions: Do NOT claim credit for this mod and do not use assets from this mod without my permission. Special Thanks to: Reapper: For rigging the Sith Stalker model for TSL. Shiftee: For making the original Sith Stalker model. Deadman: For porting the Sith Stalker to K1 and helping with the original TSL mod. UberBlack: For creating the texture. Bioware: For such an amazing game! Fred Tetra: For Kotor Tool Stoffee: For TSLPatcher! And everyone who downloads the mod. Saber&Melee Weapon Sound Mod Author: DeadMan 1. What is this? This mod will change sounds of lightsabers and other melee weapons. Lightsaber sounds are replaced with more movie-like versions. The mod will not only replace ingame sounds, but also will add some variety. For example, all lightsaber types (normal, doublebladed and short) now have unique set of sounds (not only on/off and ‘hum’ sounds, but also swing, parry and hit sounds). Vibroblades, vibroswords, long swords, doublebladed swords and quarterstaffs also have updated soundsets. Vanilla game had only 2 (!) swing sounds for ALL melee weapons. With my mod it’s 3-4 unique sounds for a weapon type. 2. Why should I install it? Why not? 3. How to install? Just run TSL Patcher, it will do everything for you. 4. Compatibility. The mod is not compatible with other mods which alter saber sounds. 5. Credits. Shem – I used some sound files from his Ultimate Sound Mod. Conditions of Use: Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES ANY OF MY MODS TO BE UPLOADED TO STEAM WORKSHOP. Anything else - be my guest, use like you want, just give credit to me.

This is a variation of my Electromesh Robes as requested by Akerro421 (on Steam), for a more dark sided look. This mod is not compatible with that original mod, you have to pick one. Not compatible with other mods that change the inventories of the same merchants. The 2 robes are based on robes so they allow Force Powers and cannot be worn by Bao-Dur. For the merchants to work, the area where the merchant is located should not have been loaded yet. Much thanks for the heads-up! I re-downloaded the mod [not the attached script above - regardless of that, thank you for attaching one though] and replace the former with the new one - and it works like a charm! The blur effects does working, and all there is matches with what's in the description. If there's one area that needs to be improved [at least for me] is the description format. Perhaps you may want them to be like this - to match with the rest of them K1's style. Nevertheless, a neat update there - and many thanks for considering this.
  17. 1 point
Agreed. Dantooine wouldn't be a bad place in Star Wars to live, farm and camp. Minus the Sith bombardments, Exchange mercenary camps, and looters on that planet.
  18. 1 point
Option 1 all the way. IMO it's better to keep the style of the rest of the game.
  19. 1 point
Thank you! That did the trick. I misunderstood and thought you had to rename the texture files to match the filename of the model (which I renamed). Reverting the name of the tga files back to the original name fixed it for me and everything is working perfectly. Many thanks!

@Sithspecter, why not add screen 1 to the Sleheyron mod, and add screen 2 to your Loadscreens in Color mod? That way, everyone is happy.

(Oh, there's more info here, I also replied on Steam) p_attonbb is for the body. The head needs P_AttnH1, P_AttnH1D1 and P_AttnH1D2. But.. in kotor 2 the "D2" is max dark side, in K1 just "D" is max dark side. In K1 the order is: no D, D1, D2, D3, D. So in K1 there's 2 more states. In an image editor you can make textures for those in between states by doing a 50% opacity mix of a layer above another layer.
  22. 1 point
I find that's an accurate description. K1's Sentinel is the hardest to play. However it does have advantages in the final battle with Malak, such as the immunity to mind affecting effects..

Thanks for the suggestion! And yeah additional targets won't be affected. My excuse: the momentum of a saber throw should diminish after the first hit to an extent that it can't knock down a target anymore. The main reason, however, is that `EffectForcePushed()` seems to only knock down targets away from the PC, which makes sense for the first target but not for the additional ones (in most situations). Should there be a way to control the direction that a target is knocked down, I would certainly consider implementing the what you mentioned. Best.

Throughout both of the games, you'll find crates in several versions. These cubes have different versions - one for each planetary location. (Excepting Taris with has three versions.) I'll list them all, provide the file names, and put a link where you can download them all. Why this may be important to you? 1) You're making a movie and you want to show different crates for different areas. This way you can swap the different textures in and out. 2) You're making a mod for a brand new area. Instead of looking through the KotOR Tool, you can use this blog page. 3) You want to make sure all of the boxes use the highest quality version of the texture. I'll be grouping these by planet, but not in game order nor alphabetical order. TARIS There are three different textures for crates on Taris. I believe the third more colorful version is in Davik's base. File name: LTS_locrat01.tga Size: 512 by 512 File name: LTS_locrat03.tga Size: 512 by 512 File name: LTS_crate.TGA Size: 512 by 512 HARBINGER File name: HAR_Cr01.tga Size: 128 X 128 Suggestion: Use my pack at the bottom of the page as both crates will now use this larger sized, clearer texture. This is the version I have included in the current pack. This texture is sized at 512 X 512 instead of the original texture. No renaming required. ENDAR SPIRE File name: LHR_crate01.tga Size: 128 X 128 Suggestion: Use my pack at the bottom of the page as both crates will now use this larger sized, clearer texture. This is the version I have included in the current pack. This texture is sized at 512 X 512 instead of the original texture. No renaming required. DXUN File name: DXN_Crt.TGA Size: 512 by 512 Note: This texture is also used in altered versions for Tatooine (LTA_trim02.tga, LTA_trim02_00a.tga, and LTA_trim02_01a.tga)and maybe have also expected to be used for Sleheyron (LSL_crate00.tga). Tatooine will be covered below as it's unique. Onderon (OND_t01a.tga) uses a slightly different version which reorders the boxes, and is also covered below. ONDERON File name: OND_t01a.tga Size: 512 by 512 Note: Onderon (OND_t01a.tga) uses a slightly different version of Dxun's texture which reorders the boxes. TELOS File name: TEL_CBx.tga Size: 128 X 128 Recommendation: Use sELFiNDUCEDcOMA's version instead (shown below) from his mod. This texture is not included in the package at the bottom of the page. TATOOINE This version not only covers the crates but also windows and a rusty wall File name: LTA_trim02.tga, LTA_trim02_00a.tga, and LTA_trim02_01a.tga Size: 512 by 512 Suggestion: Use my new upsized version instead (shown below) available in the pack at the bottom of the page. (You'll have to rename it to from "1024 - LTA_trim02 (New Version)" to the file names listed above.) My version (sized at 1024 X 1024) uses a new seamless rusty wall texture and uses the larger size of the box texture from Dxun so you don't lose as much crispness. MANAAN File name: LMA_crate01.tga Size: 256 x 256 Recommendation: Consider using my replacement instead? You'll have to rename this file from "" to "LMA_crate01.tga" (or to whatever name of crate you're replacing it with) before placing it in the Override. This texture is sized at 512 X 512. Included in package below. NAR SHADDAA File name: NAR_cr8.tga, NAR_cr8s.tga Size: 256 X 256, 64 X 64 Suggestion: Use my new version instead (shown below) available in the pack at the bottom of the page. (You'll have to rename it to from "NAR_cr8 (upsized)" to the file names above.) My version - sized at 512 x 512 - uses a recolored version of a different texture. PERAGUS File name: PER_locrat03.tga Size: 512 x 512 Note: Identical to one of the Taris crates but I included it anyway. DRESHDAE (thanks to @Sithspecter for finding it) File name: LZA_crate01.tga, LZA_crate01S.tga Size: 128 X 128, 512 by 512 Suggestion: Use my pack at the bottom of the page as both crates will now use the larger sized, clearer texture. TARIS (SITH BASE), also possibly Manaan Sith Base and Leviathan) Thanks again to @Sithspecter File name: LSI_box01.tga Size: 256 by 256 Pros: Unique box design Cons: Lower texture size. NEW CRATE Since I was spending all of my time looking at these darn things, I decided to make my own. File name: DRO_crate01.tga (rename it to whatever you need) Size: 512 X 512 I used wall panels from the game to make a M4-78 version of a crate. (They had to be shipping their medical supplies in something!) This texture is mostly a goof but if you can find a use for it, more power to you. If you use any of the above in a movie or in a mod and you've found it useful, please list in your credits/read-me as "Set Direction Assistant: Sith Holocron" SH_Set Decoration Crates.7z

I made a very similar mod to this a long time ago, but it seems it disappeared with PCGM and I no longer seem to have a copy. What it does is swap around the default flourish/stances used for melée weapons - the single blade flourish is replaced with the stun baton flourish and vice versa, the Echani-style flourish replaces the two melée weapon flourish and vice versa, and the double-blade flourish is replaced by the "Natural Attack" (or "Rocky Mode" ) flourish...Just look at the screenshot for details.

The source code is right there, enter that into Kotor Tool (which can be found on this website) and compile the script given, then place it in the override. Modding does exist within the grey area of the internet, and even on more filtered sites like nexusmods.com, there is always a threat of malware. You can find Kotor Tool on deadlystream, kotorfiles.com, nexusmods.com, and several other places (even the recently resurrected gamefront.) Edited*

Back in 2006 Darth InSidious was making this "Rhen Var" mod which consisted of reskinned M4-78 & HK Factory modules, I know he has uploaded some pics of the old mod on his gallery somewhere here but whether or not he's actually making it is unknown. Here is a fAnTaStIc 2006 trailer of the mod in its 2006 quality:
