Summary This mod replaces the Jedi robes worn by the player and many NPCs with a more iconic, cloaked one based on a model from K2. I've made some fixes to the model and made new textures both to improve the quality and fit into the game more smoothly. There are three texture options: 100% Brown, Brown-Red-Blue, and Brown-Red-Blue Alternative. The Brown-Red-Blue textures maintain the color scheme of the K1 Jedi Robes. The 100% Brown textures look more like K2 textures, with different (brown) designs for the Jedi robes instead of different colors. The Brown-Red- Blue Alternative is a mix of these styles. It retains the color scheme of the Brown-Red-Blue option while keeping the variety of the 100% Brown option. Dark Jedi robes, of course, are always black. All styles come with or without gloves for your player character and some non- player characters. If you choose a gloveless option, your hands will be bare and match your usual skin tone. Installation Extract files from the downloaded archive. Run Install.exe. Select one of the six install options: a) 100% Brown b) 100% Brown (No Gloves) c) Brown-Red-Blue d) Brown-Red-Blue (No Gloves) e) Brown-Red-Blue Alternative f) Brown-Red-Blue Alternative (No Gloves) Click "Install Mod" and select your game directory (default name SWKotOR). Manual Installation Extract files from the downloaded archive. If you do not have an override folder, make one in your game directory (default name SWKotOR). Select one of the three folders in tslpatchdata: k_bbb – 100% Brown k_brb – Brown-Red-Blue k_brb-a – Brown-Red-Blue Alternative Copy all files from the selected folder to your override folder except appearance.2da and the .ini and .rtf files. The gloveless options require patching appearance.2da and are not supported by the manual installation. Uninstallation Remove the installed files or replace from backups if necessary. Compatibility & Other Notes This mod is not compatible with my Cloaked Hybrid Robes mod; you have to pick one or the other. This mod is compatible with my Cloaked Party Robes mod, if you install it after installing this mod. This mod is likely not compatible with other mods that alter the Jedi robes. This mod uses my Supermodel Port for K1. This makes it super cripplingly incompatible with any other mods that alter the game's supermodels (the S_Female and S_Male files) unless the other mods utilize my Supermodel Port assets. These edits are necessary to give the player supermodels the bones required for the cloaks to animate. This mod's supermodels include my Supermodel Fixes for K1. So you don't have to worry about using that, or if these files are overwriting those. Use this mod's files. These supermodel edits somewhat alter some animations in the game. These adjustments were necessary to prevent the old stuff from clipping with the new stuff. It's essentially what Obsidian did when they added the new bones to the supermodel, but I've reversed the changes a bit to bring the animations closer to the original K1 style. Some models aren't so happy with the new rig. I've made some hotfixes for such cases where I can, but they won't be compatible with other mods that alter these models. I've instructed TSLPatcher not to overwrite these. P_JuhaniBB.mdl and P_JuhaniBB.mdx are two such files that will be skipped. If you use the Juhani Catlike Head Mod, I suggest that you use my version because I happened to fix the same thing that mod fixes anyway. You can copy those two files manually from tslpatchdata to Override. The gloveless options only support appearances from the original game release. If you use a modded player appearance, they'll still wear gloves. While this mod adds skirt bones to the player supermodels, at this time it does not add the bones or the necessary animations to the cutscene models. So the skirt flaps may appear stiff in scenes that use those. Credits KOTOR Tool – Fred Tetra TSLPatcher – stoffe, Fair Strides NWMax – Joco KOTORMax & MDLEdit – bead-v waifu2x – nagadomi This mod contains assets ported from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords by Obsidian Entertainment. Permissions I hereby grant nobody except myself permission to upload some or all of this mod anywhere for any reason. For any reason. I have uploaded a separate mod resource with essentially all of these assets free for anyone who wants to use them. But I want to keep them separate for simplicity's sake, so this release here is strictly a mod. Disclaimers OBSIDIAN IS THE NEW BLACK. DON'T WEAR BIOWARE AFTER LABOR DAY. For various legal and ethical reasons, this is entirely optional and is not a requirement to downloading or using any of my mods. I also do not create specific mods for hire. I make mods as a hobby and will most likely do so regardless of any donations or lack thereof, but modding does take up a lot of my time and every bit helps. -
2 pointsIt's more bizarre to me that supporters and detractors alike are calling it a mod. How is stripping the guts out of something and rearranging it a modification?
-
2 pointsYes, that's their plan. That's why they allowed Aspyr to add Steam Workshop support for mods.
-
2 pointsIn K1, there are only 9 body slots for the player: A - Underwear B - Clothing C - Light Armor (Class 4) D - Light Armor (Class 5) E - Medium Armor (Class 6) F - Medium Armor (Class 7) G - Heavy Armor (Class 8) H - Heavy Armor (Class 9) I - Jedi Robes J - Revan Armor The only practical way to add more Jedi robes for the player would be to replace one of those. If it's just NPCs you want, though, there are three existing Jedi robe variants already. Player robes (PFBI/PMBI) and these two NPC outfits (N_JediMemF/N_JediMemM & N_JediCounF/JediCounM) I'm planning to have an option to replace those as well, once all the models for them are done.
-
2 pointsI thought about doing different textures for the robe tiers, but I'm not going to for the time being anyway. I'll still be busy with making models for a while, so I'll leave the texturing to everyone else for now. Force Fashion had a few textures in the K1 style on K2 robes: That was with a slightly different model, but it probably could be done again. However, I have plans to do a hybrid K1/K2 model that retains the original texture mapping for a future update - essentially, the K1 model with a K2 cloak. My end goal is to have a few install options so you can choose which robe model you want for the player.
-
2 pointsI use both the HQ skyboxes (using the no cloud sky option) and helena shan improvement mods that Ebmar has listed. I also use Tatooine OTE.

This mod adds the head model of the Jedi Knight companion Kira Carsen from The Old Republic MMO, ported to TSL as a selectable player head for female characters. TOR uses the same base head mesh for Kira and Meetra Surik, so this was basically a two-for-one deal since the most difficult part is reskinning the face. A few notes: While aligned as closely as possible, the neckline probably won't match perfectly. Expect some visible gaps on body models that don't hide the join. The TOR head models use separate textures for the face, eyes, and hair. In order to allow for DS transitions, these had to be merged together (and the UVs adjusted to match). The eyes are the big loser in this. They went from having their own dedicated 256x256 texture to being shrunk down to a corner where they could be squeezed in. An additional consequence of the texture merge is no normal maps, due to the hair requiring alpha masking. TOR heavily relies on tint mapping textures for variation - skin tone, hair colour, eye colour, etc. Unfortunately, while the tint colours are available in the material files, the specifics of their shaders are currently unknown to me, so the best I can do is experiment with various blend modes to approximate the look. It may require some further experimentation and kludging. Not even having specularity, much less the advanced (by comparison) graphical features of TOR, expect textures to look pretty flat by comparison to the originals. KOTOR has a maximum bone limit per mesh of 16. This creates a problem for TOR meshes, as adding the eyelids to the face bone array pushes that to 18. I had to drop 2 bones to make it work. I chose the two nose corner bones, as they seemed the least important. I don't know what effect this may have on various facial animations though. The hair meshes are currently completely rigid. Possibly I may add a danglymesh version in a future update. Dark Side transitions are included, but they are relatively mild. I'm not a big fan of the zombie look. Installation If you are using TSLRCM or the hybrid TSLRCM + M4-78 from the Steam Workshop, make sure to choose its Workshop folder as the installation location, not the main game folder. CZERKA SIGN AND DESK ENHANCEMENT (version 1.2) ============================================== MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron ORIGINAL RELEASE: 13 MAY 2017 UPDATED RELEASE 1.1: 25 MAR 2017 (added desk and loading screen) UPDATED RELEASE 1.2: 16 OCT 2018 (adds new version of desk and removes the loading screen) GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. Description: This texture replaces all instances of the low resolution Czerka sign seen in the game. In addition, the desk seen in the Czerka office (and many other places throughout the game) has been cleaned up and even has an animated screen! Notes: A small update: I've made some minor updates to the green buttons on the desk texture. If you'd rather use the original ones instead, they are still available in the package. (See Installation instructions.) The loading screen has been removed from the package as it's now included in my "Replacement Loading Screens for KotOR2: Original Pack (with or without TSLRCM) - Part 1" mod. Why have multiple identical versions. right? Installation: If using TSL: Choose whether you wish to use the original or new versions of the textures. Grab all files from one of those folders and put them in your Override folder. If using KotOR1: Choose whether you wish to use the original or new versions of the textures. Grab all files from one of those folders and put them in your Override folder. Uninstall: Remove the textures from the Override folder. It is to be distributed as-is without alteration, unless by permission of me. This mod is not to be distributed for profit, either. I hereby state that I specifically do NOT wish this mod to be uploaded to Steam Workshop. I may release this on NexusMods at a later date but I don't wish others to do so. Usage in other mods must be requested and approved by me before your use. Pictures: Before and after of the Czerka sign. Note the animation of the desk monitor. This GIF is a bit janky looking. I assure you that the animation runs much smoother in the actual game. From Update 1.2 Before After Special Thanks: To JCarter426 for his wonderful Loadscreen Template for K2 (1.1) - which enabled me to include this loadscreen for you all. Even though I now have removed the loading screen from this mod package, he still deserves the credit. -
1 pointHey Deadlystream, What I'm looking for is a port of, or a way to port, the head of Brianna/Handmaiden from Kotor 2 and making it playable in Kotor 1. I've done some modding in other games before so I'm willing to give it a shot of my own, I just fear that I'll start only to realize that a) it can't be done, or b) it's already been done, I just didn't look hard enough. Edit: So far I've extracted all the .tga, the .mdl and the .mdx file for Handmaiden (one less dark side variant than I expected). Currently I'm working on figuring out the conversion process in MDLedit. Final edit: I actually managed to get it done myself. Turns out there's a lot of really helpful reading material on this site if you look close enough!

1 pointIt gets stupider when they go "Pre-Disney this wouldn't happen" Memory is a terrible, terrible thing ain't it. Don't even have to go back that far... Battlefront 3's project comes to mind. And it's far from the only one.

1 pointFor 15 years Lucas Arts was content to turn a blind eye to modding and even tacitly endorsed it as far as giving the go ahead for Aspyr to add in Steam Workshop support for the TSL remaster. It was incredibly reckless and short-sighted to draw the attention of their legal arm by advertising that they were trying to port the entire game. Anyone with any amount of common sense knew how this was going to go down and this drew exactly the wrong type of attention to the modding scene. The sheer amount of hurr-durr "Screw you Disney!" in the YouTube comments is cringeworthy, when the whole thing was a dumb idea from go.

1 pointYou just don't have the correct baseitems.2da row that the mod adds for the female robes. What @djh269 suggested is perfectly possible, it's just laborious to set up.
-
1 pointIt's not really an alternative way, it's still just a disguise. The only difference vs the typical use of a disguise is that each instance is unique, as it references a player/companion head. That makes it both a pain in the ass to implement, and incompatible with any custom head mod.
-
1 pointBy duplicating the appearance lines DP found an alternative way to have different robes I believe in this mod: But yeah SpaceAlex replaced one of the vanilla armour classes to get his Jedi Master Robes implemented. Sucks there's only really PMBJ / PMBI to use in K1.

1 pointI've been using for a long time The Jedi Robe Reskins Council Style (revisited) by Darth Jaden (released many years ago now) and I think she did a very good job with it so I would like to salvage some of her work even in the name of diversity, which is a great way to make the KotOR world more believable and charming. In this sense, SpaceAlex had the right idea: we need variation (good quality, of course) to breathe new life into the game. Customization is also very desirable because different players may like different styles. Thanks to you two both for your great job on making this vision become reality with your own work! Cheers!

1 pointStill, an awesome attempt though! And many thanks; for having it shared with us in the end. Cool, I have seen the result and it was sleek. 😁 Dang, I'm still thinking how to get around the model restriction I mean; is there one type of model that is not used in the game, which it can be replaced by a new type of model? For example- we can replace it with the cloaked model so the original model is not replaced and then we can have this sort of variation between cloak and the uncloak. Even when going with the extreme way which is using the disguise feature, it wouldn't be a success because we had no option with the Base Item value inside its UTI. 🤔 Update: It's not too difficult for the NPCs, as seen in the screenshot: -as they can use custom model assigned to their 2DA, but I'm thinking about the player or maybe some variation with custom items like at some points we can acquire a custom robe which its base using the cloaked model, while the player is using the original model.
-
1 pointNah, the released one is the standard K2 Jedi robe. I had finished the model fixes for those even before that, but it took me this long to get around to finishing the textures for K1. I had sort of put it off while I was busy debugging all the animation problems with the supermodel. So the one I released now is just a standard K2 robe with some patchwork. The hybrid model, on the other hand, is a new one, merged from both games' PFBIM/PMBIM models. It's essentially the K1 body (legs, torso) with the K2 cloak over it (cape, sleeves) and with the hands replaced for the option to remove gloves. It uses a double-wide texture, with a K1 texture on one side and a K2 texture on the other. The male model is done, but I still have to repeat the entire process for the female model. That's next on the list, but I'm working on some other robe ideas in the interim.

1 pointHi all again, 18 days ago a lot of you remember when I left a request of Dak Benkins Recruitment mod idea to be taken for considerdation and also for possible future use, well I am to discuss the topic regarding him about why he is so important for KOTOR mod community, So here I go, I introduced Dak Benkins back in 2016 onto the Star Wars fan fic wikia as what my thaughts where if KOTOR was ever declared Canon, the story focuses on Dak Benkins as a Corporal First Class in the Galactic Republic and would become a Major Character for my universe fandom story, I chose Corellia as I felt it would be a perfect homeworld for my character, and I had to help build him to be more of a acknowledged squad-leader of the Republic, in a position he attained due to his reliable nature, and he was believing to do his duty by the book, and also being a kind and preferred indivisual calling his friends last names and first names sometimes, and something I felt like creating when he looses his best friend Corporal First Class Aidus Denlin from the Endar Spire, and like I probably mentioned in that story which it's unlikely to be in my universe of it Benkins, Gurragann, Lancoln, where the only survivors of 2nd Battalion Alpha to survive though in my universe of it, 2nd Battlation Alpha Was based towards that of it's counterpart from Aliens the Colonial Marines unit 2nd Battalion Bravo Team, in which the characters where all commonly based of, Lieutenant Scott Gorman (became a composite for First Lieutenant Lathe Maggnar) Gunnery Sergeant Al Apone (became a composite for Master Sergeant Rych Halley) Corporal Cyntia Dietrich (became a composite for Corpsman Ellen Lo) Corporal Colette Ferro (became a close composite for Corporal First Class Aidus Denlin although Aidus isn't a women and the death is not the same as Ferro's in Aliens at all) Corporal Dwayne Hicks (became a composite for Corporal First Class Dak Benkins) Private First Class William Hudson (became a composite for Private J'aahn Lancoln) Private First Class Daniel Spunkmeyer (became a close composite for Private Jakk Sambrizi but it's not as same as Spunkmeyer's in Aliens) Private First Class Jenette Vasquez (became a composite for Specialist Xenda Billĭ ) Private Tim Crowe (became the composite for Sergeant Zab-Nagelsa Manadd) Private Mark Drake (became the composite for the character Staff Sergeant Makassk Donnovich) Private Ricco Frost (became the composite for Private Salitt Okee) Private Trevor Wierzbowski (became a composite for Private Dineas Kampenberger) where all composites I based them off though technically I too all the idea upon them for each an everyone of them what happens on the Endar Spuire, the characrter Kampenberger is the only Republic Soldier whom is mentioned as MIA roumer has it he was captured by the Sith being the only prisoner of war taken alive from Endar Spire as I thaught it would gladly fit right on in, each and all the others die with only Benkins and Lancoln surviving and Captain Hugo Gurragann not based on anybody from Aliens survives, As I told origins of Dak Benkins I mentioned after the war he still serves for at least many years roumer has it from KOTOR II he still remained for 10 years until retirement of a Major General, I am also currently writing a story about his mission with his two other friends in 3955 BBY after the war went on a secret mission on the Dynamic Class Freighter a sister of Ebon Hawk being the New Controller, with his friends Arod "Arrow" Renning and Vyrr Wezz, and of course Dak has a commando unit he takes care of called Squad Three, and also they're is Rennings' own crew members, before Dak wedding for Ellabelle Blenlin they have to complete a mission on Ord Mantell of a supposed Sith Threat at stake somewhere on the Island of Avilatan, more adventures are set to be told of Dak Benkins in my universe and what he did after KOTOR II for example, perhaps since it's risen with 200 and something views I decided to write up more tails he would of course be close as popular towards Legends Character heros and Canon Character heros like Poe Dameron, or for example but Dak has been marked a penulitmate for Star Wars Old Republic era in my universe, he is the most sucessor to Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, Jacen Solo, Darth Bane, Asajj Ventress, Anakin Solo, Ben Skywalker, and mostly many more Legends and Canon universe characters in paticular so I think it's fair to say he has become so popular with many views, since more views are set to come soon for them I expect that I can write more paragraph stories about him what he did after KOTOR and a possible likelyhood if they're even was a KOTOR III to know what he did after KOTOR II where he goes, but I have high hopes in mentioning he retires a Major General in future, originally Dak was meant for being a Supportive Character but since he has grown a bit popular I have decided to make many more stories what our Republic Soldier hero does and possibly with his friends the Rodian Arod "Arrow" Renning, the Captain of New Controller and also the Chadra-Fan Vyrr Wezz the co-pilot of New Controller, and Dak's wife Ellabelle Blenlin, and also many more characters the crew of the New Controller, the known crew of New Controller include, a Mandalorian Neo-Crusader War Veteran named Rokis Zuhl of Clan Zuhl and knows very well of Captain Hugo Gurragann during the war Dak Benkins's traitorous Commander, Zuhl is the gunner of the New Controller, we have the Trandoshan named Tshossork Augri a friendly foe and also the gunner of the New Controller, we have the Nikto named Salsose Vec whom is a navigator of New Controller, we have a Kel Dor named Tol Ban whom is a crewman, and the Cerean named Ny-Mudurr-No Mosil whom is also a crewman, we have the Ugnaught mechanic named Montru, and four humans, a Female Crewmember named Yasmyn Starr, and Ships Medical Officer, Lea Stryder, we have a Communications Officer named Silus Riou, and an ex-Jedi Knight named Beltok Koren, we also have a Rodian Female named Hii Zsa whom is romantically involved with Renning and her position is gunner, and a Twi'lek named Fawzijoz whom is a crewmember, in later life it's mentioned Dak becomes a member in that group possibly after retirement, and he would meet his surviving foes from the end of the Jedi Civil War alive, of course the story will be a larger one to tell but if I run out of ideas that's not a problem, The main reason I introduced Dak i loved the character and I think it would be a brillent idea for all viewers alike the reason for his mod being introduced and put onto Mod Requests I have plans that someday he will be our new penulitmate mod for all viewers alike I am being respectful to all people on the deadlystream and I do show everyone who loves Star Wars with respect, and also to let everyone know I am okay if it's not made and it's okay and I don't freak out over things if they're not done I just what's called try not to let stuff get the better of me and that's okay, I am okay though and I respect if non of you wish or want to make it, but I would love to see the mod created sometime for KOTOR, and since it was my request for all people I will also be voice actor for Dak in the mod at somestage but many scripts have to be written and also we have numerous of problems how can we get Carth Onasi, and Bastila Shan and also Mission Vao, Jolee Bindo to speak to Dak, plus we don't have actors who sound like Jennifer Hale, or Raphael Sbarge, or Kevin Michael Richardson, and Catherine Taber as well, though to say it would be the most hardest thing to find in all our lives but I wish we had voice actors in KOTOR Mod community who sound similar to them most likely, You probably will be wondering what does Ellabelle Blenlin sound like in my opinion she would sound similar to voice actor Liliana Mumy if we can find one who sounds just similar to her, So with all respect to our main followers of KOTOR mod community I will respect the rules and also I will be paitent and wait and see what happens only time will tell that's all I ever wish to say to everyone and also please do give this topic and me a little bit of respect too thank you. 🙂

1 pointHello again! Yes, I understand about the difficulty to make them work together. I would really welcome the variation between the Jedi and the Dark Jedi clothes though. I think it'd be an ideal representation so I am hoping that something could be done about it since I'd really hate to leave one of the two mods out. It'd be a real shame, especially considering how well both turned out to be! Cheers!

1 pointHello, Salk! Hahah yeah I have figured it out since JCarter426 provides the mod resource, at some point I could start working on a compatibility because there's no chance for both of these mods to have them paired at its current state [they both share the uses of the same model which is PFBIx - PMBIx]. The most realistic way is for the original Jedi robe [K1] to adapt to the new cloaked model [TSL] and not the other way around. Actually I'm not sure if that is going to end-well when both robes are combined/blended since they are so different in their basis but- we'll see. 😁

1 pointHello ebmar! Since you are already planning a new update for this nice modification of yours I was wondering if you could consider including a version compatible with the essential JC's Fashion Line I: Cloaked Jedi Robes for K1 since I would really like to use them both together.

1 pointWith my past modded-playthrough [currently I'm running an 80% vanilla texture PT particularly with Tatooine's decorations], I have been using the fan favorite's- multiple's "Old Republic Skin Overhaul - Tatooine v1.0" for both the interior and the exterior of this [the way I see it] amazing planet. Apologize that for now I can't provide an actual in-game screenshots from my end, as I don't have the mod installed currently but I have some which I have grabbed from the host: Images are hosted here For the skyboxes; I can't think of anything more fitting than Kexikus's "High Quality Skyboxes". Pure sheer quality For content related stuff you just can't miss VarsityPuppet's "Helena Shan Improvement", or you'll just ends-up mistaken her with another lady in the bar I think that's all I can think of regarding Tatooine's essential contents for now. 🤔 Hoping more references are coming your way! Edit: I'll let you know with an update if I manage to found some other stuffs on the way.

1 pointThe rambling BS he goes on with for 3/4 of the video really illustrates why the average slob has no understanding of copyright law, nor wants to.

1 pointThat's a noble gesture, Sithspecter. Folks, if you do use this in your mods please do credit Sithspecter. One kind gesture deserves another . . . Finally, this long abandoned logo makes more sense to display.

0 pointsAfter seeing them make a post saying "oh well we actually have this other game we've secretly been developing this whole time stay tuned for that teehee" it's looking like this was basically just a big marketing ploy to garner attention that they had no serious intention of releasing so I can't say I feel as bad for them as I did.

0 pointsLooks like SidAlpha has gotten a few of the salient points wrong. I dropped my own thoughts in the comment section on the video's page but feel free to add your own.

0 pointsI fail to even understand the underlying reason as to why this remake is necessary. There is *nothing* wrong with the original games, they're perfectly fine to play as is, thanks in no small part to the work of many a modder who have made them even more enjoyable. Leave Knights of the Old Republic alone.
