    The goal of the Weapon Model Overhaul Texture Rework is to make use of wonderfully made weapon models, created by Toasty Fresh, in order to replace the vanilla weapons models and textures with high quality, high resolution ones, that still look and feel like the original game's weapons. NOTE: THIS MOD NEEDS TOASTY FRESH'S WEAPON MODEL OVERHAUL IN ORDER TO WORK PROPERLY! INSTALL IT FIRST! DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=213484
  2. [Updated: April 26, 2020] Greetings, fellow Jedi! Hope you all doing fine. This will be an archive-thread-miniwiki to accommodate my curiousness in some aspects from either KotOR/TSL; either with placeables, textures , models, anything- which is too valuable to lost for just a status update but is too exclusive for each of them to have a single thread, in my perspective. I have archived some past random questions with its essential responses, should their information would be useful and will be easy enough to have access to: [August 14, 2018] PlasticCrate_cylinder [August 16, 2018] LTS_Rwall01 [August 19, 2018] PLC_Statue2 [August 24, 2018] Taris' Upper City Cantina Entrance Wall Panel [August 28, 2018] Taris' Upper City South Fountains [M02ac_02b_02e] [August 30, 2018] Ebon Hawk's Unique Cubemaps [CM_eh] [September 12, 2018] Locate Area Model [September 12, 2018] Sith Soldier Bump Map Restoration [September 17, 2018] Bump-map Breaks Level Geometry Animation? [December 10, 2018] Jedi Enclave's "Unused" Bump-map [November 08, 2019] Trigger's ScriptOnEnter x GetEnteringObject [November 24, 2019] ActionJumpToLocation >= ActionJumpToObject [December 08, 2019] Rakatan "SWAG" Idle Animation VS ANIMATION_LOOPING_TALK_NORMAL [December 11, 2019] [Success] VS [Failure] [December 14, 2019] GetNearestCreature > GetPartyMemberByIndex [April 26, 2020] TSL's Hologram ____________________________________________ That was some questions-responses that I thought would need a proper archiving should they delivered any useful information for future modding attempt. Also, I'm taking this opportunity to ask to the forums too. Will it be possible to change that grey area in the center of Taris' city-walk to some kind of a mini-pool with water model/textures in it? One example in mind that could be used as a reference is this mini-pool inside Davik's estate: Many thanks for considering this!

    Update: - I fixed some of the geometry on the hilts so they look a bit cleaner - Also threw in Malak's lightsaber hilt for good measure Well, on March 16, 2011 a veteran modder known as Varsity Puppet released a mod called VP's Hi Poly Tin Cans. Now this mod took the bad lightsaber models that were for the sabers in the vanilla game and made them high quality and good looking. The only problem with this mod though, was that there was no KotOR I version. And so, approximately two years later (I really did not plan this), with VP's permission, I went ahead and made a KotOR I version. Hope you guys enjoy.
  4. As most of you know, Bao-Dur can't equip robes and heavy armor. This is because all of his appearance.2da entries use a personal customized entries to account for his arm. Ergo, they use the same textures as regular versions of the armors, but the model itself is custom and includes Bao's mechanical arm. Obsidian didn't bother giving him the custom bodies beyond type F, which is the medium armor, which is also why he doesn't have heavy armor feat selectable in the game - it would simply crash because of the missing appearance.2da entries. So, my request would be to take the remaining armor models (body types G, H, K, M), and attach Bao's Arm to them, while retaining the UV maps to accomodate the textures, just like the stock bodies he uses now. While there are some concerns about there being a space between the head and body for the robes (body types I, N), using a custom mesh such as the following - http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/413-tsl-prequel-robe-replacement/ http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/64-movie-style-jedi-master-robes/ - should prove to be adequate, as very few people use stock robe models these days. Regardless, robe addition is secondary to the request of the missing armor types.
  5. View File Ultimate Ebon Hawk Repairs for K1 When dealing with crime lords, beware. Davik Kang's prize ship has a state-of-the-art security system -- it is filled with hulls gaps to suffocate the lungs and texturing errors to boggle the mind. If we want to get the Ebon Hawk flying safely, we ought to patch things up. The goal of this mod was to provide all of the same fixes provided by Ultimate Ebon Hawk Repairs For TSL to your K1 game. This mod patches the same issues as Ebon Hawk K1 Fixes 2.0 by ndix UR, as well as many of the others I worked on for TSL. The latest version includes some big improvements to the alignment of the ship's geometry and animations to the monitor textures it uses. I have included in the download a folder labelled "Animated Monitors"; these files serve provide significantly higher-quality alignments to those using either "Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (not including Galaxy Map)" or "More Subtle Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (still not including Galaxy Map)" by Sith Holocron, Dark Hope, and Xarwarz. I personally recommend using those texture mods for the monitors, and installing the contents of the included "Animated Monitors" folder to your override folder after installing the rest. See the Installation section for more details. If you would like to simply remove the blinking animations entirely, you can find an alternate version of the mod for download in PapaZinos' Alternates to do just that. Installation: Download the 7z file and extract the contents of the "To Override" folder to your game's override folder, found in the same directory as your main game executable. For Steam installations, this would be "Steam\steamapps\common\swkotor". 7z files can be extracted with Archive Utility on macOS, or with programs like PeaZip on Windows and Linux. For those using my monitor texture mods of choice, either "Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (not including Galaxy Map)" or "More Subtle Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (still not including Galaxy Map)" by Sith Holocron, Dark Hope, and Xarwarz, make sure to install the contents of the included "Animated Monitors" folder to your override. To install, simply copy the files included in the "Animation Fix Edition" subfolder to your override after copying the files from the "To Override" folder. Select "replace" when prompted. Uninstallation: Remove the files in the Included Files list below from your override. Included Files: Compatibility: Users should expect full compatibility with any other mods, so long as they do not modify/replace the above files. For compatibility with the KotOR 1 Community Patch and Darth Parametric's Taris Escape Sequence Adjustments, simply install this mod after those ones. Looking to introduce some much-improved ship animations that are made for their textures? Sith Holocron, Dark Hope, and Xarwarz have authored both "Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (not including Galaxy Map)" and "More Subtle Animated Ebon Hawk Monitors (still not including Galaxy Map)", both of which do the job well. I recommend using either alongside the files in the "Animated Monitors" subfolder aforementioned in the Installation section. Acknowledgments: I would like to thank Symmetric, Purifier, Ndix UR, and seedhartha for making importing to Blender simple using KotORBlender, and Cortisol for making file extraction easy with the Holocron Toolset. I also want to give a shout-out to muitafruita for suggesting including the medbay walkmesh fix from TSL to K1 as a way to improve PC spawning. This modification is not supported by Bioware, Lucasarts, Disney or any licensers/sponsors thereof. 7. Hello I'm looking for people who have experience with model editing. I'm trying to figure this one out now. I download the latest blender. Then KOTORblender add-on. Installing both. I can important KOTOR's models. For now my issue is with exporting. As after importing & exporting models (no changes, just a test) and putting them into the game I have issues. In game I can equip edited outfit and after one second it just crashes. So I probably messed up some settings. To me it's weird as it seems to work and be fine, but when my character starts running there is this crash (standing or a bit of walking is fine). I couldn't find any tutorials for KOTORblender. So I'm looking for people with experience. Other programs could be good also. As long as it's possible to convert low poly models into higher poly ones / edit them a bit. I wanted to make some edges appear smoother (general shapes looking less low poly), and also maybe edit width & dimensions a bit.
  8. View File TSL Turrets Models Repair There are two kinds of turrets in the Star Wars galaxy: the up turrets and the down turrets. The up turrets have all the nice geometry a turret needs, while the down turrets eschew their lower geometry in favor of nice shadows, since their undersides are not actually visible to people. A harmonious balance -- or so we all thought. It turns out that there are many opportunities to see the bottoms of the down turrets, exposing their empty underbellies for everyone to see. Their shadows are also incomplete and janky-looking. Let's restore balance to this galaxy! If you have not checked out Khoonda Turrets Model Repair, I suggest you do that as well. That will set the turrets around Khoonda to the up models instead of the down models, as they were meant to be. That will mean that they have all the geometry they need without the extra model shadows, which look no good on the higher-up turrets. Installation: Download the 7z file and extract to your override folder, found in the same directory as your main game executable. For Steam installations, this would be "Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II\override". 7z files can be extracted with Archive Utility on macOS, or with programs like PeaZip on Windows and Linux. Uninstallation: Remove the folder "TSL_Turrets_Models_Repair_v1.0" from your override. Included Files: Compatibility: Users should expect full compatibility with any other mods, so long as they do not modify/replace the above files. I highly recommend using this mod in conjunction with Khoonda Turrets Model Repair, of you have not checked that out already. This mod will fix the lack of geometry issue there as well, but that one will remove the nasty-looking shadow it has. Acknowledgments: Big thank-you to seedartha, Symmetric, Purifier, and Ndix UR for making importing to Blender simple using KotORBlender, and Cortisol for making file extraction convenient with the Holocron Toolset. 10. I always wanted to import KOTOR ships like Leviathan, Endar Spider, Ebon Hawk or other fighter into Blender and I found a way I found a page in moddb which contains those ships. Those were .max files but I converted them into .fbx format and managed to import them into blender I also used Holocron Toolset to extract ebon hawk or other ships to use them in Blender as well. With space backgrounds I managed to render some good images with those ships
  11. Hello. Does anyone happen to know of any mods out there for K2 that edit the way your character moves with weapons equipped? Specifically the double bladed swords/lightsabers. I love using double blades and love the combat, but absolutely hate the way your character runs with the weapon. It always bothered me because it's so unnatural the way they move and it really kills my desire to use a double blade. I know this is a stupid small technical thing, but I was wondering if anyone felt the same way and if there was a mod out there to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.
  12. Hi all, Ive been trying to troubleshoot modelling a lightsaber in kotor for a fair while now and I cant get the blade to be visible when in game. I have the model linked to all its parents and children in the correct order and the lightsaber itself appears in game, but the blade is invisible. I have tried linking and exporting with both the kotormax interface and the inbuilt 3dsmax interface to no avail. Needless to say im stumped. Ive attatched a screenshot of a standard lightsaber and my design (with blade problem & no texture) in-game. Thanks in advance. Using: 3dsmax 2019, kotormax v0.4.1, kotortool (most recent), MDLOps 1.0.0, kotor steam version
  13. Hi everyone, hope were all having a good day I'm super new to modding and modeling in kotor, let alone any game and im trying to make and import a custom lightsaber model into kotor 1. Ive followed a number of youtube tutorials but come up stuck. Ive made my model and saved it as an mdl file, put into kotor etc, then when I whip out the lightsaber it is invisible in game. Im using 3ds max to create a model and kotor tool + mdlops to convert it all to something kotor can read. The main info im going off is in (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPeUit0j5yY&ab_channel=TutorialTim). Please forgive me if im doing something blindly wrong, I have essentially no idea what i'm doing, Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It looks like the Exchange is getting desperate to keep refugees from leaving the Refugee Sector. Their new bag of tricks includes: removing pieces of architecture from the landing pad, creating over a half-dozen wall and floor gaps, causing crates and railings to pop in and out of existence before your very eyes, and installing a railing inside of the airspeeder. 16. View File Poison weapons and upgrades "Poison weapons and upgrades" mod for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords VERSION: 1.0 RELEASE DATE: October 11, 2021 AUTHOR: LoneWanderer --------------------- 1.Description --------------------- Adds 3 poison weapons (2 with new models) and 6 melee upgrades with custom icons. KOTOR I had several poisoned weapons, which were quite fun to use, but in TSL poison damage type was limited to mostly useless or rarely used grenades, mines and droid special weapons. The goal of this mod is to make gameplay more varied and interesting by adding new obtainable poison weapons and upgrades. Weapons: Naga Sadow's Poison Blade - inside Korriban's Academy Poison Short Sword - can be bought from Samhan Dobo on Telos Sith Poison Double-Bladed Spear - from Dark Jedi Apprentice inside Freedon Nadd's tomb Upgrades (can be created using a workbench): Mild Poisonious Edge - Poison, Mild Damage DC 15 (requres skill: Stealth 6) Average Poisonious Edge - Poison, Average Damage DC 25 (requres skill: Stealth 14) Severe Poisonious Edge - Poison, Virulent Damage DC 30 (requres skill: Stealth 22) Deadly Poisonious Edge - Poison, Deadly Damage DC 50 (requres skill: Stealth 32) Average Weakening Edge - Poison, Average Weakness DC 20 (requres skill: Awareness 10) Deadly Weakening Edge - Poison, Deadly Weakness DC 40 (requres skill: Awareness 28) Since level cap was raised from 20 to 50 in TSL and autobalance system increases the level of enemies to match the level of Main Character, this means that in the latter half of the game most enemies will have very high resistance to poison, which makes it ineffective. To counter this imbalance, 2 additional levels of poison damage were added: Deadly Damage and Deadly Weakness. Also, to increase the chance of poisoning enemies, you can try lowering their Fortitude using, for example, Force Scream. As a bonus Poison Short Sword and Sith Poison Double-Bladed Spear have new models (see License information in section 6.Credits). The correct shadow models were kindly created by DarthParametric. Copy the files (except dialog.tlk) within the generated "backup" folder and place them in the Override folder, place dialog.tlk in your TSL folder. If you installed other mods after this one that modify dialog.tlk, iprp_onhitdc.2da, itemcreate.2da, itemcreatemira.2da, poison.2da, upgrade.2da, then you should uninstall those mods first. ----------------------- 4.Compatibilty ----------------------- This mod is compatible with TSLRCM. New weapons use model variation 20 of short sword and double-bladed sword. New upgrades use item icon slots ip_pltuseitm_113 - ip_pltuseitm_118. If items from other mods use these model variations or slots, then they will overwrite each other appearance. ----------------------- 5.Permissions ---------------------- This mod may not be modified or distributed without the explicit permission of the author. COUNCIL ROBES BASIC RESKIN Description: This mod adds the council robes, a variant normally only worn by NPCs, and makes them available alongside the vanilla game robes in KotOR 1. The robes are added to 3 merchants in the game: the basic, lowest level variety is available at Crattis’ general store on Dantooine with 3 texture variants, although the variants for this robe all look pretty similar. They are also available with better stats as Knight robes at the Czerka Representative’s store on Korriban in Dreshdae, and as Master Robes at Mic’tunan’jus’ store on Tatooine in front of the Ebon Hawk. This mod should be compatible with other mods that modify these merchants, but this mod is not at all compatible with other mods that modify the base robe models OR add new textures. The idea behind this mod is to have the option to wear both council robes and base game robes at the same time, being compatible with base game items but not other similar mods. This mod will also not place the robes properly if you have been to Dantooine, Tatooine, or Korriban before installing the mod. Installation: Start the Council Robes Basic Reskin Installer executable. It should prompt you for the location of your KotOR 1 directory and move all the necessary files itself. With the exception of the merchant files, the installer will fully replace any files of the same name as the ones in the ‘tslpatchdata’ folder, so won’t be compatible with other mods modifying those files or using the same names, since they are not standard game resources. Uninstallation: To uninstall, remove all the files listed in the ‘tslpatchdata’ folder from the Override folder. Acknowledgements: Of course, without use of Fred Tetra’s KotOR Tool, MDLOps by Chuck Chargin, KotOR Blender by Symmetric, Purifier, and Ndix UR, k-gff from tk102, and TSL Patcher by stoffe, this would not be possible. Thanks to all of you. NOTE: This is really the first mod I have made, and I have only tested the new models and textures so much. If there are issues you come across that I did not foresee, or perhaps simply any quality-of-life things that may be added, let me know, either by sending a message on deadlystream.com or sending an email to flooggoog@gmail.com. -cubis182 readme.rtf

  20. It would be so so cool if someone could make a mod where the player could choose to play as a Kel'Dor like Plo Koon. There is already a model resource for a Kel'Dor model (link below) but it is applied to an npc rather than the player character. I would do it myself (in fact I tried) but with the zero knowledge that I have with modding I wasn’t able to achieve anything haha.
  21. File Name: Weapon Model Overhaul Texture Rework File Submitter: Fallen Guardian File Submitted: 18 Feb 2014 File Category: Mods Toasty Fresh recently released his Weapon Model Overhaul, which replaced nearly all the low poly weapons with pristine new models and textures. However, I liked the idea of the textures for the weapons matching the game's original icons more closely than they did (or, in some cases, weapons being more varied than they were) so I set about editing Toasty Fresh's textures to make them look more like the original game's icons. And, with Toasty Fresh's permission, I am now releasing my work. ReadMe (NOTE: In order for this mod to work properly you must download Toasty Fresh's Weapon Model Overhaul and install it first.) 22. I am working with SpaceAlex's K1 Enhancement Pack and while I like how some of the armors look, there are others that I don't like. Particularly his version of the Bronzium Light Battle Armor and the Enviromental Bastion Armor. Inside my override folder are several textures and .mdl and .mdx files. How do I know which files are associated with which armor sets?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Traditional Mandalorian Blades ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ for Knights of the Old Republic This modification adds traditional Mandalorian beskar iron melee weapons, the Beskad and the Kal. The weapons can be found and purchased in-game. If you prefer different bonuses for the weapons, you can use your favorite GFF editor to modify the UTI files that the installer places in your Override folder. I made the models and textures. The textures are 1K and relatively simplistic. The original uncompressed textures, along with UV and AO map overlays, can be found in the Modder's Resource package (it is the same as K2:TSL version's Modder's Resource package). Thanks to JDub96 for requesting this, and also to Kexikus for his folder priorities tutorial that helped me realize that .mod takes precedence over .rim ... which was making me go a little insane . Re-distribute or re-use this mod as you like, in full or in part. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ COMPATIBILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The modification is designed for use with K1R. Whether it works without it is unknown. The modification uses model variation 41 of vibroblade and vibrosword. It will not work with other mods that provide w_vbroshort_041 or w_vbroswrd_041. The modification MAY be incompatible with other mods that affect Igear in Taris undercity (module tar_m04aa), the Mandalorian encounter on Dantooine (module danm14ac), or the Mandalorian commander on Kashyyyk. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SPOILERS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can find the objects in-game at...     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Traditional Mandalorian Blades ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ for KotOR 2: The Sith Lords This modification adds traditional Mandalorian beskar iron melee weapons, the Beskad and the Kal. The weapons can be found and purchased in-game. The weapons have upgradeable Grip and Edge (because I couldn't figure out how to get just Grip upgradeable, which is what would have made sense to me), but they don't mention upgradeability in the description. If you prefer different bonuses for the weapons, you can use your favorite GFF editor to modify the UTI files that the installer places in your Override folder. I made the models and textures. The textures are 1K in size and relatively simplistic in version 1.
