    Author : RedHawke 08/19/04 ============================================================================ These are an array of Droid Upgrade items for our two little and understated pals in KOTOR, Hk-47 and T3-M4. It will turn them into 2 walking, or rolling, Terminators, give them the right Firepower and they will reign supreme! The new Cyberdyne Droid items come in 3 levels of power, except the droid weapons that only have two levels. These items can be found in game normally as they are on the 2 droids when they join your party or gotten by using the 'giveitem' cheat with the cheat console, the giveitem codes are listed at the bottom of the read-me. A small Warning, some of these items are quite powerful, but everyone has a different opinion of what a powerful or outrageous item is. These are more progressively powerful as the game progresses and your droids level up. This is fully compatible with my other mods. Though if you have my Blasters/Armor/Droid/Misc. Item Pack installed it will overwrite the 2 droid files (p_t3m4.utc and p_hk47.utc) and alter what the 2 droids have when they join your party, these droid items in this pack are not as immediately powerful as those in that pack so if you are happy with those droid items as they are then don't install this pack. This pack will not overwrite any of the droid items from my Blasters/Armor/Droid/Misc. Item Pack so they can still be aquired by cheat codes, or purchased (If possible). Also includes a .KMM file for installation by Cchargins Kotor Mod Manager program, if you have it. Installation Instructions: ----------------------------- Unzip all of the files in the .zip, except this read-me into your KOTOR override directory and start a new game.     This mod changes the requirements for droids to equip the Energized Armor set. You can find and equip these high level armors before you've levelled your droids, so this changes that so they need the Droid Upgrade Class 3 feat (level 13). Use it however you like, just mention me when doing so.

    The separate Droid Feat Gain Fix originally found in my Skills Rebalancing mod, meant to put this up separately for a while as surprisingly it doesn't seem to have been done as a separate mod already, finally got round to it. The feats of the 2 droid classes were the wrong way round in vanilla, with combat droids gaining less than expert droids, rather than more as was supposed to happen, this is now fixed. Please note, this is definitely a fix, I know the original way round wasn't intended because in the files, the droids were using each other's feat tables, which was the cause of the Expert droid incorrectly gaining the number of feats the Combat droid was supposed to have, and vice versa. P.S. Not really sure how to upload a screenshot for this mod, as things like droids gaining feats happens in the base game.......
  12. Quick question - I've been working on some VO recording for droid dialogue and I'm getting to the point now where I'd like to start testing VO volume and quality in-game. What kind of VO filters are generally used for droids? Protocol/sales droids specifically? I'm currently using Audacity to record VO's into MP3 format.
  13. Quick question: I am working on a VO for a specific droid. I have been able to find and extract the audio files (which was the EASY part)... I am unable to find the actual dialog entries anywhere. I am looking for the dialog entries for the Black Market Droid on M4-78. I went digging using the KOTOR toolset, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere, which tells me that I just don't know where and/or how to look. Also, to assuage any permissions concerns: I plan on submitting it to the M4-78EP modders first in order to obtain permission. If they do not like what they hear, then obviously they can deny permission to add to their already stellar mod. Any clarification and helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! I really want to be a part of all of this :-)
  14. Ice Eclipse power textures View File These textures attempt a more realistic style while also adding effects that I don't see altered very often such as Poison. There are several iterations of major textures such as fire and lightning. Lightning has been given multiple colors for those who that matters to. Several of the new textures are large, though nothing over 2k. I may release an alternate version with lower image sizes for lower end PCs and Laptops. Currently none of these textures are animated, but that could change in the future. --------------------------------------- Screens have been added for most textures. Just like my other party member reskins; the size has been increased to 2048x2048. Which allowed me to put in some extra details and give a decent update to the skin.   18. Hi everyone. I believe I have encountered a game-breaking glitch at the HK50 factory on Telos. In the large room full of enemy HK50s (the room full of windows showing HKs being built) I become trapped because all of the doors are locked (including the one you enter the room from). Attempting to open any of the doors suggests using a nearby terminal. When I use the only terminal in the room it lists two options: Security Cameras, and System Commands. Using either option boots me off the terminal and displays a Convesation Node Error leaving me with no way to escape this room. 1) During the game, when did the problem begin to occur? When I arrived at this point in the droid factory. 2) Did you install the latest version of the mod? (1.8.4 and 1.2 respectively) Yes. 3) What version of the game do you have? (Steam, GOG, 4CD, KotOR Collection?) What region is the game designed for if it's the 4 CD version? Steam. 4) Did you update your game as required by your game's region? (4-CD version ONLY) N/a. 5) Did you install this over the previous version(s), or did you perform a fresh installation as required by the TSLRCM's read-me file? Fresh. 6) What other mods have you installed? Please give an accurate list and provide links to each of these mods - even if they are found on this site. (We don't actually know them all!.) Content Pack: Feats and Powers, Canonical Jedi Exile 1.2, Invisible Headgear for TSL, Easy Swoop Racing TSL, Fixed Lightsaber Colors (with glow). All of these are installed through Steam workshop. 7) Can you be more specific about the error? At what point did it happen? When I arrived in that room. It's also worth noting that EVERY terminal in the factory gives me a Node error, not just the one required to open the doors. 8) Have you tried re-downloading/re-installing the mod? No. 9) Have you tried using a different save game? Yes, I reloaded a save during the Handmaiden battle on Telos shortly before the Droid Factory segment begins. Same problem occured. 10) Have you tried starting a new game? No, as this is very late in the game I've ruled it out as an option. 11) What Operating System do you use? (List Virtual Machines as well if you are using them.) 12) Can you confirm that you see the TSLRCM logo on the the main menu screen?

  22. Hey guys! I've got a bundle tutorial for you today. Although these two have nothing to do with each other, I wanted to bundle them together instead of just having two separate threads. Anyways, I'll be showing you two things for these tutorials: Creating a custom design with an armor plating for droids. Creating custom lightsabers that are also upgradeable. While everything is explained in these tutorials, I'll still try and put a little description for them here. For the first tutorial: In this video I'll be showing you how to put custom designs on droids via an armor plating, and appearance.2da. It's kind of hard for me to explain what exactly I mean, but have you ever wanted, say T3 to have a custom design when you equip a certain armor? Well, this will show you how. This applies to any droid, or well i guess any disguise. For the second tutorial: In this video I'm going to show you how to make custom Lightsabers for Kotor 1 and 2. Sorry if the tutorial kind of sucks at some points, I had to keep restarting certain parts because I messed up so much. Also, you don't have to listen to me about the whole "Don't use the same numbers that I use in my mod" I just say that so you can make yours compatible with mine. Anyways, hope this helps! Also, I follow the tutorial made by Achilles on how to create custom models for your lightsabers. I'll leave his text tutorial in case my video is too confusing (which it probably is). Achilles text tutorial: Resources that you will need to build your mod: • KotOR Tool – Used to locate and extract templates, models, and skins • GFF Editor – Program used to edit .uti (template) files. • Hex editor - used to modify .mdl (model) files. • Tpc2Tga.exe – Simple executable that will allow KT to automatically convert game images to convertible format • A file reference – used for identifying files in KT. I like to use http://www.goldensun-syndicate.net/kotor/codeFAQ.txt • Photoshop (optional) – used to modify game images such as saber color, robes, armor, etc. Files that you will need to extract using KT: *Note: xxx represents the model # Templates – Assign properties to the item(s). Use the file reference to determine what files you need. For instance g_w_sbrcrstl14 is the code for Blue Lightsaber Crystal. Knowing this information will help ensure that you extract the correct files. • g_w_sbrcrstlxx.uti <BIFs/templates.bif/g_w_sbrcrstxx.uti> • g_w_lghtsbrxx.uti <BIFs/templates.bif/g_w_lghtsbrxx.uti> Models – Used to render the image of your item in-game • w_lght_xxx.mdl <Bifs/items.bif/w_lght_xxx.mdl> • w_lght_xxx.mdx <Bifs/items.bif/w_lght_xxx.mdx> Images – used to skin the model in-game (ie they’re what make the blue lightsaber file appear as a blue lightsaber in your game) **Note: Rather than use the Extract button to save these files, you will double click them to open the Image Viewer window. Use the Write File button to extract the file to your save folder. ***Note: In KT open Tools<Options and set the program to automatically convert .tpc files to .tga format. Make sure that Tpc2tga.exe is in the same directory as KT for this to work. ****Note: If there are any “special instructions” in the Image Viewer window, you will need to copy them into a .txt file in your save folder. You will modify the format of this file later.

You will change this file later. *Optional* upcrsystals.2da <bifs/2da.bif/upcrystals> - This property table is used to make lightsabers upgradeable in-game. Although optional it is highly recommended that select this option. More details will be available later in this tutorial. How to build your lightsaber: Open GFF Editor and use File<Open to open g_w_sbrcrstlxx.uti. KT has it’s owned GFF Editor, but I’m used to using this one. Please note the following properties: • LocalizedName – this is the display name that the game uses when rendering your item in the gui (ie inventory screen). The # in STRREF box refers to the dialog.tlk file, but not to worry. Change this number to -1 and change Language to 0 and hit Enter. The box below should now be editable. Go ahead and enter a custom name for your crystal if you would like =) • ModelVariation - this number of the saber model. Referring back to our code resource, we see that the game already uses 01-19. You will need to pick a unique number between 20-99. *****Note: be sure that you do not use a number already taken by another mod that you plan on using. • Tag: change the number at the end of this name to the same number that you selected for ModelVariation • TemplateResRef: same steps as Tag
 • Save your file Open GFF Editor and use File<Open to open g_w_lghtsbrxx.uti • Follow the same process for LocalizedName, ModelVariation, Tag, and TemplateResRef as outlined above. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you create a custom name for your lightsaber. Not only does it help you identify it in your inventory, its fun! ##Note: It is very important that the unique number used for your crystal and the saber is the same (example 99) ####Note: This is also where you would modify the properties of your weapon, but that’s another tutorial. • Save your file Open your Hex editor and use File<Open to open w_lghtsbr_0XX.mdl. • BREATHE! • Use the Text Find function to locate the references to your w_lsabre<color>01 file. I usually look for “01” or the color (“blue, red, turq, etc) to ensure that I find it right away. • Very carefully change the 01 to 02 • There are 4 of these references. Find the other three and change them as well. ##Note: Double Bladed lightsabers will have 8 of these references. ###Note: changing only some of these references will result in a multi colored saber blade • Save your file Rename all of the files in your save folder, except w_lsaber<color>01.tga and w_lsaber<color>01.txt to reflect that model number that you selected.
