I... This sums up what I see on these subjects anymore. All the time.
Is this what this site has become? The subject is about the teaser and though we're to give our thoughts, this is all I see: "I hate this." "I hate that." "This is dumb because of such and such." "I haven't seen it because I live under a rock."
Okay, maybe not that last one. But every time the subject is even mentioned, it's all hate. Without even seeing what's coming or remembering the fact that we always knew how things would go. If my words are hard for you to read, then it's long past time someone said them.
ZM and anyone else who is mad about the whole E. U. thing, it's not just Disney. I've made reminders so many times: The E. U. is FAN BASE. Like it or not. Previously Cannon or not. Lucas has always said that it is separate from the movie cannon. ALWAYS. It was ALWAYS going to be made non cannon when Episode VII and beyond are made. I'm sure Lucas MIGHT have said something vaguely to the contrary a few years ago, but that would have been because the chances of anything else being done was very small and unlikely. Stop whining about something that we were informed would happen.
I had hoped things would have turned around and there would have been some good encouraging posts made about it. But I was wrong. I feel like I'm in a room with angry people who don't like change, even when they know it's coming, and complain about it every chance they get, instead of just dealing with it and moving on finding the good things and talking about them.
You are entitled to your opinion no matter how flawed it is. I'm sure I've riled someone up too, and I know someone is saying that mine "opinion" is flawed. But you know what? That's not the point!
The point is I get tired of reading why someone hates something over and over and over again. I see these "discussion" threads and I should think, "Oh. I love that subject. I want to contribute what I like/liked. I wonder what others liked about it." Instead I think, "Oh no. Here we go again. I'm going to read, 'I hate Disney because thus and so.' 'They're completely ignoring the E. U. How shameful.' 'I think it's so stupid. Lucas should stop and die.' I don't want to even want to contribute my positive opinions because they will get buried in all the hate."
"Why don't you stop reading these threads if you don't like it?" - user. Because Mr. User, the mature thing is to have a positive and uplifting environment with healthy discussion. And the more mature thing is for you to change your attitude about this.
I can't even agree with some of the dislikes because it turns into outright hate. Then I feel silly because I don't hate it that much.
It's really depressing guys. Disliking something is one thing. Posting it EVERY time the subject is brought up, that's something else.
Regarding this thread, this is a teaser. Judging the movie off of it is like judging a book based off of one paragraph on 5 random pages. It's like trying to see the universe through a crack in a door. It's very limiting.
I'm going to leave you with a quote that many seem to have forgotten, and the younger generation doesn't know about: "If you're wondering how he eats or breathes, and other science facts. Just repeat to yourself 'It's just a show. I should really just relax.'"
/end rant
Contemplative: I'm wondering that about the speeder too. It's hard telling. And the Ar-too looking unit as well.
Observation: It looks like a soccer ball with a droid's head on it.
Theory: It could be a unique droid. Something that one character made. That I can see. Though for what purpose is beyond me.
Reminder: Don't forget that it is Science Fiction. They can do what they want. I love Star Wars because it was founded almost entirely on technologically feasible and at least at some level logical principals. But to be honest, they are allowed to do things that are science fiction. Even if it seems silly for that universe.
