  1. Just a simple information to share to save ones from getting burnt-out, lol. Why we don't want to use TPC format for lightmaps? It broke the maps When put into a module/MOD file, it crashes your game upon reloading and/or exiting the game Stick only with the TGA for that one...
  2. View File Larger Text Fonts for KOTOR WARNING: 11/29/22 - It appears that the "big" font size category is causing crashes for people attempting to open certain lockboxes in the Taris Undercity. Other sizes, such as "verybig", are unaffected. I will be working to recreate and fix this issue over the weekend. For now, I recommend players either choose a size that isn't "big" or uninstall this mod until the issue is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience! Have you tried playing KOTOR 1 at high resolution? Then you may have noticed the text does not scale properly. As a result, text can look embarassingly small. Fortunately, this mod contains an assortment of font files that the game can use. They are organized by various sizes with the 3 kinds of text the game uses; they are also interchangeable! Using these files should give players an easier time when playing in high resolutions, customizable to everyone's needs. Hopefully everyone who wishes to play KOTOR 1 in high resolution will have a more enjoyable experience, and that one of the more common problems facing the community has been properly addressed. The attached file is a compressed archive that contains a ReadMe file, and a folder containing each set of fonts. READ THE README FILE BEFORE INSTALLING! The ReadMe contains an important explanation of what each font folder is, and instructions as to how to properly install the mod. Improper installation could lead to very unreadable text! DISCLAIMERS: You will NOT be able to see small numbers, the count of grenades for example, via the HUD. This is a problem with the game itself & how it handles larger text inside smaller HUD elements; I am unable to fix this. The game is simply too old and we don't have access to its source code (yet). This mod is NOT compatible with KOTOR 2 TSL. This mod only exclusively works with KOTOR 1. If you are using the Steam or Mobile versions of KOTOR 2, you shouldn't be experiencing this problem anyways. As far as I know, there are no compatibility issues with other mods. However, if you come across any problems or something not working as intended, please let me know here or via my Discord: Xela#6419 If you are only playing the game at 1080p or less, this mod may not be necessary. Text only stops scaling up to 1080p resolution (as far as I know). It's possible this mod will only cause issues if you play the game at less than 1080p resolution. These fonts were NOT my creation! They were found and extracted from the Russian 🇷🇺 version of KOTOR which inexplicably has larger fonts with a variety of sizes, on top of being able to work in English as well. I was also not the first person to discover these files, that credit belongs to user Drazgar! https://deadlystream.com/profile/44945-drazgar/ I do not claim these files to be my own, I simply uploaded them here to share with the community after not finding them anywhere else. 3. Would someone be interested in making a mod that gives Admiral Dodonna the PFHC02 head from the game? Whether or not she can still have her hat on is of no difference to me although it would ideally be cool to have options for both if the face and hair could be combined with Dodonna's hat. Just thought it'd be interesting to see Dodonna with this head since that particular one has a stern "military" look about it which is perfect for her position
  4. View File Party Leveler K1 By Request of an anonymous /r kotor discord user, seconded by 134340Goat. JC2 Presents: Party Leveler K1 Allows the player to fully upgrade each companion from level one, keeping their original class intact as well. If you auto level up your companions, then this might not be the mod for you. However, if you enjoy strategically improving each companion to their full potential, then this is your mod. Jolee and Juhani join the party at level one, letting the PC have more control over their force power progression by five levels (default for both is level 6). Note: Does not affect Juhani in the Grove, nor Jolee before he becomes party member on Kashyyyk. Installation: Unzip and run TSLPATCHER. Uses tslpatcher, should be compatible with nearly everything, be sure to install your mods in the correct order. Any mod you think might use the same files, install that mod, then install mine using the tslpatcher everything should be compatible. Otherwise, you risk incompatibility issues. Incompatible with Shem's Force Power Gain, without removing some of the Force Powers Juhani and Jolee have at the start to prevent level up soft locking. This can be done with the KSE. The reason this is incompatible is that Shem's mod allows classes to gain more force powers per level up, which causes the player to run out of selectable powers soft locking during leveling up. I hope you enjoy! As always, any feedback regardless of its nature is appreciated. Submitter jc2 Submitted 11/08/2017 Category Mods K1R Compatible Yes

    Muur Talisman

    Version 1.0.0

    347 downloads

Description Designed by Karness Muur, the Talisman is a dark side artifact that is capable of turning other beings into mindless rakghouls. A few things to note: This item is going to spawn somewhere on Korriban and is hard to miss (in case you do miss it, the cheat code is g_i_frarmbnds25). It does not work on other Force sensitive beings (as stated in the lore). Transformed rakghouls receives bonus to their STR, CON, and receives significant penalties to their WIS, CHA, INT. Their tough hide grants resistance to physical and ion attacks. The rest is for you to discover. Welcome to the dark side, my children... your one chance at true greatness lies here. 6. Whenever I extract dialogue to edit for my recruit mod, the text disappears when I attempt to go to the dialogue and edit. This occurred in 2015 and this has occurred when I attempt to check dialogue from other recruit mods. I have pre-recruit/recruit dialogue planned, but my tools fail when I attempt to save dialogue. Can someone help?

  8. View File [K1] Marlena Venn "Legends" This mod made readjustments to Marlena Venn, both her appearance and positioning on the Dune Sea - to further improve the gameplay aspects from encountering her, and bring a fresh-new experience with her new looks and some other stuffs! # Background # When I met Marlena the first time I know that she's special - in a mysterious way, lol. Yeah, I catch her mysterious side so I did a makeover of her - appearance wise. About the positioning - it bugged me where she was placed so I moved her. Particularly when the conversation was initiated, so with her new placement it looks like she did make the conversation first. And that's how I see the encounter should start. # About this Mod # This modification makes unique appearance for Marlena Venn of Dune Sea [Tatooine], also reposition her to a new spot and replace her recorded voice with the filtered version so it sounded like an actual playback straight from a droid. GIT positioning preview: Encounter quick-preview [Outdated - v1.0.0]: Ah-ha! It also makes Marlena equip a Blaster Pistol, some Credits, and a Repair Kit. Here's a breakdown of why's: Blaster Pistol: because she was "through planning", she wants to make sure of everything Credits: well, she planned on going shuttle somewhere - it just makes sense for her to carry some Repair Kit: some leftover from earlier tinkering with the droids Those new content was made to connect with jc2's "Kill Marlena". I have tested them together on my playthrough and they work like a charm! A truly-fun content worth installing for you - Dark Siders! Just make sure to install this mod last of them. Without it there'll be no change of plot whatsoever and those additional stuff wouldn't have effects. # Final Remarks # There's always room for an improvements - critiques, comments, suggestions, questions and feedbacks for the next update are much appreciated - PM, write them on my feed or leave any on the mod's page as you please. And thank you! for downloading, and playing this mod. Hope you enjoy the mod as much as I do! Installation: run the installer [TSLPatcher.exe] and then hit the [Install Mod ->] button. Uninstallation: replace the installed files with what was stored inside the generated 'Backup' folder. Particularly tat_m18aa.mod; put that file back to 'modules' folder manually and overwrite when prompted. To uninstall the Voice Over simply put back its backup to streamwaves \ m18ab \ 10wi06 folder - overwrite when prompted. Compatibility: will be compatible with mostly anything, including jc2's "Kill Marlena" - just make sure to install this mod after every mods has. Though haven't being tested with Kainzorus Prime's "[KotOR] NPC Overhaul Mod" and N-DReW25's "K1 Gameplay Improvement" installed, presumably they'll be compatible. But be advised that compatibility issue of this mod working along with them is not yet confirmed. Will not be compatible with any mods that force-overrides tat_m18aa.mod or messing with this mod 2DA entries. For this mod to be effective you should at least load a saved game before entering the Dune Sea - Tatooine [tat_m18aa] module This mod is play-tested with KotOR 1 Restoration/K1R installed and is compatible with them Redistribution: I'm asking you not to redistribute this mod - I'd like to stay in touch with them so I know where to provide support. If you are to re-use an assets to a project you will be releasing, you don't have to ask for permission - but your generous intention is very much welcome. I'd love to know what others are up too, particularly if my work are included. And then, make sure to give credits to SpaceAlex, BioWare & LucasArts with the release - particularly with the inclusion of this mod assets. 9. View File Dual Wield Stun Batons - Diatium-Charged Escrima Hello! This is my first very first, and very basic, mod. Nothing in here that anyone else couldn't do with Kotor Tool, but I thought I would share it all the same. I am releasing this as a modder's resource because I am actually planning on including it in a larger mod I have planned later on. As such, to access this you will need to use the cheat "~giveitem dualstun_mas". Installation: Drop the files into your override folder and use the giveitem cheat to acquire them in game. Background: I always liked the idea of stun batons in KOTOR 1. They seem custom fit for scoundrels and should line up really nice opportunities for sneak attack. However, in the course of KOTOR's development it seems like the original combat devs could not get a handle on how to implement them. Opportunities for sneak attack are great, but you rarely fight alone with a non-jedi in KOTOR... With two turns of stun, if you land a stun effect the enemy is massacred. Lower the rate the stun can occur, you almost never see it happen. Dual wield stun batons and suddenly a jedi character can land 5 hits in a turn and the stun effect still hits too often. Only allow one stun baton at a time? With the other tweaks, it no longer makes sense to equip it on anyone. This all feels like a solvable problem that just wasn't worth the developer's time...the perfect opportunity for modders. This mod attempts to rectify the problem of stun batons by tweaking their stats and allowing for the much cooler implementation of dual wielding (I am thinking about you Nightwing). To do this, I reskinned a shortsword and added a bevy of stats and effects. These tweaks should make these stun batons useful for most of the game by allowing your scoundrel character to rely on their sneak attack to deal most of the damage. Since sneak attacks scale with you as you level, these should always be useful. Description: These stun batons are meant to be dual-wielded. They deal very little damage on their own and only have a 25% chance of even attempting to stun. They deal electrical damage, deal extra against droids to compensate for stun immunity, and have a small chance to deal some extra critical damage. Fully upgraded, these stun batons will pale in comparison to even mid-game weapons on their own. The DC is set to 18 so that there is a chance, however small, that even boss level enemies could fail their saves and provide an opening. These "Diatium-Charged Escrima" are meant to set up sneak attack. As such, I have restricted these to scoundrels by requiring the Scoundrel's luck feat. As this is a modder's resource, it is your choice how you'd want to implement them. In an unmodded game, these batons will primarily get use from Mission. Potentially some early use from the PC, but they will quickly be outpaced by lightsabers. A fully specced out Misson could dominate with these weapons, but she would need several different feats and/or use stealth to make full use. Future updates/Requests: Reskinning! The current texture/model is from the Bothan Stun Stick. I would love to recolor these black, but I have no knowledge/tools needed to change textures. Stretching out the model. Right now these are the stock model for stun batons, to fit as escrima they should be longer. Same as above, I have none of the tools or experience to make that happen right now. Permissions: Anyone can feel free to use this for anything you'd like! It is meant to be a very self contained way of implementing dual Stun Batons, so it should work with anything else. Credits/Thanks: Fred Tetra for their amazing KOTOR Tool @Thor110 for their general help and modding tutorials! Submitter Masamune753 Submitted 04/30/2021 Category Modder's Resources
  10. I have been trying to create a mod that would give the party a new soldier after Bastila is captured aboard the Leviathan, but Bastila can be brought back with cheats or the spawn armband after her capture. Is it necessary to add the function to remove her from the available party members prior to recruiting a replacement?
  11. General scripting question as I am giving myself a crash course...I am trying to get a feel for how functions work together since I don't have any previous experience. Would something like the following be possible... Could you use "GetSkillRank" to dynamically alter the "nBonusMarkup" and "nBonusMarkDown" values within the OpenStore function? If you could, could it be as direct as just taking the value and using a formula like [Persuade/20]=X*100=nBonusMarkUp? Or would you need to set up a conditional to fire specific instances of "nBonusMarkUp" based on certain "greater than" values for persuade? If so, that feels like it would be a really cool mod! I'd be happy to give a stab at doing it, though it feels so easy I have to assume it wouldn't work or else someone would have done it by now 😅 I was inspired to ask based on this thread.

A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic II The Sith Lords Author: N-DReW25 Release Date: 19.03.2017 Release Date 1.1: 7.09.2017 Installation: Double Click the TSLPatcher.exe and let it do its magic Uninstallation: Remove or Delete all the files with the "e_imp1_01.uti" all the way to "e_imp4_10.uti" (There are at least 30 of those so they aren't listed here) When the TSLPatcher installs the mod correctly it generates a backups folder within the Implant Feat Restoration folder that contains the TSLPatcher. Open the backups folder and copy the "baseitems.2da" and "feat.2da" to the override folder overriding the Implant Feat Restoration files If you have any problems be sure to contact me for support Description: Kotor 2 is known for a ton of cut content. The TSLRCM restores most of that content but there were some they left behind due to it being not restorable or not necessary. However if you have sharp eyes you might notice the Implant Feat is unavailable. This is likely intentional by Obsidian as the Implants in game require a certain level of constitution in order to use them. This is all well and good until you realize you will have to abandon other stats completely for constitution in order to get good implants. This mod changes it so that you now require a certain implant feat to wear certain implants. There are three tiers of implants so 3 to 5 level ups should be enough to get max implants whereas before you'd need at least 6 to 11 to get max implants Currently, only Hanhar and Mira have the feats. If you want your main character to have the feats you must give it to them on the level up screen (Since you cannot play as a scout you cannot get implants for free) Also, ALL implants will require this new feat instead of the constitution. This means there is a low chance of an NPC having no implant since it doesn't have the new feat and cannot use it's implant. This is mostly a good thing as it will make the enemy slightly easier Known Bugs: this mod shouldn't have bugs but if there is Just PM me on Deadlystream. Incompatibilities: The TSLPatcher will make it compatible with nearly any mod...but if you do find an incompatible mod please alert me so I can put it in the readme Incompatible with Sireyn's Kotor 2 Implant Rebalance Permissions: Do NOT claim credit for this mod and do not use it in your own mods without my permission Thanks: Bioware for such an amazing game, Stoffee for TSLPatcher, Fred Tetra for Kotor Tool, Fair Strides for helping me get the Feat to appear on the character creation screen and everyone who downloads the mod. Legal: THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT SUPPORTED BY BIOWARE/OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT, LUCASARTS, DISNEY OR ANY LICENSERS/SPONSORS OF THE MENTIONED COMPANIES. USE OF THIS FILE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THE ABOVE MENTIONED COMPANIES OR THE AUTHOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR COMPUTER FOR THE USAGE OF THIS FILE.
  13. Hello! I am extremely new to modding, but I have an idea I want to pursue that I would appreciate any guidance on. The rough outline is to bring a version of TSL’s richer companion interactions to K1. The method would be to equip a custom “hide” item into your companion’s hidden inventory slot when you finish a companion’s relevant optional quest as a buff/reward. This is the same way that HK-47 receives all their buffs from your relevant repair attempts. The goal is to boost the weaker non-jedi characters, while providing some incentive/satisfaction for pursuing their individual storylines. In my own attempt to research this, I have the following basics mapped out: I would need to create new .uti files for the items containing the buffs. I would need to create a script that equips the item in the “hide” slot (or replace an item already there) I need to then attach(?) that script to the dialog or journal event associated with completing the relevant quest I would also need to change/add text to the last dialog entry associated with that quest to explain to players the nature of the boost [ala HK-47’s repair boosts] The relevant characters and quests are: Carth → Finding Dustil Mission → Mission’s brother Canderous → Jagi’s Challenge Zaalbar → Chieftain in Need The boosts would attempt to make each character closer to the utility of jedi in a way that is consistent with the narrative: I am not posting this in the mod requests section because I would like to figure this out on my own. Looking through the mod tools and tutorial sections, there are a few different tools I could use? Which ones are the best for this kind of task? I have tried to get JRLedit and dlg editor, but I can’t seem to get them working on my computer. Am I on the right track? Is any part of this just not going to work? Any guidance or redirect to the right resources would be amazing.
  14. View File K1 HD Legal Screen This mod replaces the KOTOR legal screen with a high-resolution version that stays faithful to the original. The two options for installation are the Classic (4x3 with black borders) and Widescreen (16x9) editions. If you don't see your resolution listed as a download, I may add additional options in the future if requested. Installation & Widescreen Patching To install this mod, simply drop legal.bik into the Movies folder in your game's directory. Make a backup copy of the original if you might uninstall this mod later. In order for this mod to work properly, your game must be patched to run in widescreen. 19. Hi guys Following this thread by @LDR https://web.archive.org/web/20121204063333/http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=209937 and using its linked download of a mapnote.utw file I've been able to add different Map Notes in the map of a custom module of K1. The dots are there and works fine but I can't make that the name of the points appear in the map. The place where should appear the custom name(s) of the zone(s) in the map (do not confuse with the name of the Module) remains in black with any name. The thread says "Under MapNote, type you want the Mapnote to say" but in the .git file all the fields that could be written a text in the square area are in grey. Unable to type in. Opening the .utw file with K-GFF I can add text to some fields but still no success. Any tip/help?

The perceived lack of uniqueness between the classes in TSL formed the basis of this project. I also hope it addresses the notion of being granted feats that the player would not necessarily use or be able to master throughout the game depending on class feat progression. Jedi Guardian = Soldier Jedi Sentinel = Scout Jedi Consular = Scoundrel Changes 1. Protagonist Jedi Guardian is granted Armor Proficiency Light, Medium & Heavy, Power Attack, Power Blast, Weapon Proficiency Blaster Pistol, Blaster Rifle, Melee Weapons & Lightsaber, Force Jump, Jedi Sense, Jedi Defense, and War Veteran at Character Generation. 2. Protagonist Jedi Sentinel is granted Armor Proficiency Light & Medium, Flurry, Rapid Shot, Weapon Proficiency Blaster Pistol, Blaster Rifle, Melee Weapons & Lightsaber, Force Immunity Fear, Jedi Sense, Jedi Defense, and War Veteran at Character Generation. 3. Protagonist Jedi Consular is granted Armor Proficiency Light, Critical Strike, Sniper Shot, Weapon Proficiency Blaster Pistol, Melee Weapons & Lightsaber, Force Focus, Jedi Sense, Jedi Defense, and War Veteran at Character Generation.
  23. View File Czerka Armor and Appearance Fix Czerka Corp is one of the biggest business entities in the galaxy, employing billions of sentients on who knows how many planets. Yet in the vanilla version of K1, the developers made some weird (to my mind) decisions on how to depict the employees of this vast corporate empire. JC's Korriban: Back in Black mod recognized and corrected the odd decision the developers made to have Czerka employees wearing Sith military uniforms, but this weirdness regarding Czerka is not just limited to Korriban. On Tatooine, there are personnel identified as Czerka employees who are dressed as commoners. On both Tatooine and Kashyyyk there are Czerka guards patrolling their areas unarmed. It could be argued that these might be local contracted labor who therefore don't get uniforms, but I don't really picture this for security personnel, who serve as the only type of law enforcement in places like Anchorhead, or for the crews of the sandcrawlers, who operate specialized equipment that was imported to the planet. On Kashyyyk, a particularly dangerous planet, you would expect to have every security person armed and wearing armor to protect them from the wildlife and to deal with potential rebellion by the people they are enslaving. That's not to say there's absolutely no place for independent contractors, but I think those characters would be mostly people operating small businesses under license, like the bartenders in Dreshdae and Anchorhead, the weapons dealer in Dreshdae, or the Ithorians running the hunting club or the droid shop in Anchorhead. I also didn't like that only human and Twi'lek employees got uniforms, especially when the Ithorian on Kashyyyk held what seemed to be a very important position there. This mod seeks to address these issues by appropriately clothing all Czerka personnel and providing armor for those employees who should have it. Version: 1.0 completed 10/17/20 Description: This mod makes several changes to the appearances and capabilities of characters employed by Czerka Corp: 1. All human and Twi'lek non-paramilitary Czerka personnel on every planet where Czerka operates wear Czerka uniforms. Czerka employees on Korriban wear standard Czerka uniforms instead of Sith military uniforms. The Czerka miners on Tatooine and Mission's brother Griff also wear Czerka uniforms. 2. The Rodians Greeta and Fodo and the Ithorian Janos wear varients of the Czerka uniform that are fitted for their respective species. 3. All Czerka personnel working in the paramilitary departments of the company such as security, slaving or hunting are appropriately armed for their jobs and also wear custom Czerka armor which displays an employee's rank by the number of stat bars on the chest (for men) or sleeves (for women). There are six ranks (loosely based on police ranks) in all. Rank determines the type of armor worn by the employee: Stat Bars Rank Armor 0 Guard Czerka Light Armor 1 Constable Czerka Light Armor 2 Officer Czerka Mod I Armor 3 Sergeant Czerka Mod II Armor 4 Lieutenant Czerka Mod III Armor Special Captain or higher Czerka Medium Armor This armor can be obtained in game and worn by PCs. It comes in five varieties: --------------------------------- Czerka Light Armor Base Class: 4 Note: Basically just a standard combat suit bearing the Czerka colors and logo. No special features. --------------------------------- Czerka Mod I Armor Base Class: 4, Upgradable Armor Reinforcement: +1 Defense Bonus Mesh Underlay: Resist 5/- vs. Energy --------------------------------- Czerka Mod II Armor Base Class: 4, Upgradable Armor Reinforcement: +2 Defense Bonus Resist 10/- vs. Slashing Mesh Underlay: Resist 10/- vs. Energy Resist 5/- vs. Fire ---------------------------------- Czerka Mod III Armor Base Class 4, Upgradable Armor Reinforcement: +3 Defense Bonus Resist 10/- vs. Slashing Resist 10/- vs. Piercing Mesh Underlay: Resist 15/- vs. Energy Resist 10/- vs. Fire ----------------------------------- Czerka Medium Armor Base Class: 6, Upgradable Attribute Bonus: +1 Dexterity Armor Reinforcement: +2 Defense Bonus Mesh Underlay: Resist 20/- vs. Universal For everyone concerned that this mod will cause the all-green Czerka commander's uniform to disappear from the game (since only Captain Dehno and Commander Dern wear it in the original game), don't worry. That uniform has been reassigned to non-paramilitary personnel who work in supervisory positions like the mining team leader on Tatooine, the guy who manages the Czerka general store on Korriban, or Carth's friend Jordo who is apparently a cargo ship's captain. Installation: Double-click on the installer icon and when prompted direct it to your game folder (“swkotor”, in most cases). After selecting the folder, the mod will install automatically. Uninstallation: Delete the files in your Override folder that have the same names as the files found in the mod’s tslpatchdata folder. Replace the .2da files in the Override folder with the ones from the mod’s backup folder if you have previously-installed mods you want to keep that altered these .2da files. Compatibility: This mod is compatible with any other mod that does not share the same .utc, .uti, .utp and .tga, file names as those found in this mod’s tslpatchdata folder. If any such files are present in your Override folder, this mod will not install properly. There may be incompatibilities of this mod's Korriban .utc files with JC's Korriban: Back in Black mod, but I am not certain, since JC's mod installs content at the module level and I do not know if that mod adds files into the Override folder or not. That's a level of modding I haven't yet learned. Note on Screenshots Displayed for this Mod: This mod does not reskin weapons, it only gives weapons to personnel who should have them equipped. The blasters featured in the screenshots for this mod are not mine, but are from Sithspecter's excellent High Quality Blasters v 1.1 mod, which I have installed in my version of K1. Also, the Screenshots folder that comes with the download includes some bonus content for your amusement. Enjoy! 24. First things first: yes, this is star map related. 😉 I created new arms I'd like to try out but have no idea how to get those into the current star map model. (plc_starmap.mdl) I created them separately. So question would be, how do I replace what's in the old model with what I have created, and then how do I retain the animations?
  25. Whenever I clean out my inventory (mainly on Yavin), I have to click through this prompt sooooo many times. I'd like an option remove this prompt or at least adjust how many credits to be notified about.
