  1. Modding seems to operate in stints with some months in between. Unfortunately, a lot of people are programmed to see progress every week, due possibly to how new television shows and videogames are constantly being produced. I have a feeling that we will see a report when Logan is less busy.
  2. While I agree that some storyline changes could have improved upon what the Prequels had to offer, I think that a few simple directing changes could have saved the movies, themselves. 1.) Avoiding creating dynamic and interesting villains simply to further the plot, only to have them die unceremoniously at the end of their movie. Darth Maul, Jango Fett, Zam Wessel, General Grievous, and even the battle droids were such cool looking antagonists, but each tended to get killed before we really got to know who they were. I mean, if Maul could have had some sort of conversation beyond "yes, Master", we could have gotten at least some idea of his tragic past that lead him to hunt Jedi, or maybe he could have actually served as some sort of connection between Obi Wan or Qui Gon, and the Sith currently hunting them. Maybe Qui Gon was actually right to be so impulsive, and the Council was ignoring evidence he found previously, believing inaction to be preferable to mistaking the will of the Force? (Additionally, I am aware that Zam gets killed basically at the very beginning, but that makes it all the more frustrating, since she also could have been a cool personality or visual element. Imagine if instead of attacking the two Jedi in a bar (which she was immensely stupid to do, since the Jedi weren't even her targets and a huge liability), she found or had some sort of backup as a distraction to escape, then rejoined Jango. Maybe we could have the fancy banter between her and Jango later; maybe something similar to what we got in Bounty Hunter ._. Contrast this with the villains in the Original Trilogy. Grand Moff Tarkin is killed off at the end of the movie, perhaps, but not until after several scenes where his personality is in the forefront. He turns out to be key to the split of the Imperial leadership, and almost a foil to Vader. He looks and acts pretty cool, but he actually serves a purpose to give detail regarding the other characters. Jabba the Hutt, honestly carrying much less importance, actually managed to stick around for all three movies. The same can be said of Boba Fett, who was really just cool looking, but then, he is also used to show the Imperial's desperation in using Bounty Hunters to ultimately play the part of capturing Solo. My point is, the villains in the Prequels were much more colorful and interesting looking, but were grossly underused in regards to the actual story and especially in interactions with the other characters, aside from action scenes. 2.) Allow the audience to figure out your plot instead of having main characters explain it to them. Personally, I think that besides a few rather odd lapses in logic, the Prequel movies actually had fairly decent plots. Trouble is, within the first thirty minutes of the first film, the Trade Federation's role to play and basically the spoilers from the entire Trilogy regarding Sidious are clumsily thrown as spoken dialogue. Did we have to know that the Trade Federation were secretly being manipulated by the clearly cape wielding younger Darth Sidious from the OT? As far as I'm concerned, it was a huge mistake. If instead we got a hint, somehow (writers call them Chekhov's guns) at the end of the movie that the Trade Federation wasn't "working alone", then that could be a cool leadup to the second and third movies. Palpatine could just be portrayed as a frustrated but clearly ambitious senator, who needs Padme to do him a favor to get some actual work done in the constantly stagnant senate. Of course, you could also use this quiet Senate time to explain how she has to be both a queen and senator, as well as show how well she and Palpatine get along. (Which would make his reveal all the more dramatic in the second movie where she starts to question his rapid reaches for power; AOTC becomes less of a " how stupid are the Jedi?" and becomes more of a "Who can you really trust?" kind of movie. Which could also give more credence to the forced romance, where Anakin and Padme are desperately looking for stability in the rapidly crumbling Republic, and turn to each other to hopefully find it. This could have built up some actual drama, and helped show how each character deals with the twists and sudden reveals to perhaps allow the audience to connect with them more. I'm sure there are more things I could think of, but that's the extent for now...

    Hey there.

Welcome to DeadlyStream, Drayx. I personally was raised on Star Wars games, starting with Galactic Battlegrounds, so it's nice to hear there are others of similar influence. BTW, have you played Bounty Hunter? It remains one of my favorites, and is still in my opinion one of the better games that basically no one has heard about. Anyway, if you need anything or are curious about how to mod anything, feel free to ask either via a PM or on the forums.
  4. I honestly was reserving judgement considering all of the contention from most folks here.. However, this was a well done joke! BTW, I like the new Avatar, SH.
  5. This is a fantastic idea, and I fully support it.
  6. Jorak, these are phenomenal, and I mean that! Incredibly excellent work, especially on the holograms and forcefield.
  7. It looks like the Monkey Island remaster was rather good, so I hope this continues that trend. Personally, I've only ever heard reviews for these games (as they were kind of off of my radar), but from the what I heard, they were fantastic games; artifacts of Lucasarts' bygone era when they took risks without relying on the Starwars license (And weren't killing studios just because they had to make Holiday sales or some sort of market figure)..
  8. For the sake of argument, with WOTOR, you are required to remove p_bastila02.UTC through p_bastila06.UTC. I tested an earlier version of K1R, and it did the trick for me.

    Kotor Apeiron

To be fair, converting Kotor to an FPS (Third Person or Otherwise) basically has a big chance of throwing away the story elements that we're emphatically saying make Kotor unique and great. It ceases to be Kotor at that point, and then it is literally "riding on the coattails of a popular game". Now, as far as scope, if you were to preserve the story that " Made Kotor so great", you would have to do exponentially more work to make those story encounters mesh with the shooter or tactical combat system. For games like XCom, which have a deep and complex tactical system, the story is limited to cutscenes and the Roleplaying aspects are minimal at best in dialogue. This system would theoretically work, but the dialogue would basically be gone, as would a majority of Star Wars' space opera story. For a game like, Fallout3 or its successors, which are a shooter/RPG hybrid, story could potentially work, except you would have to create an entire 3d playable world and fill it to the brim with NPCs who provide the story aspect. To achieve this without the original Kotor dialogue or decent writing would just make the task that much harder. However, I haven't heard of the quality of the writing for this project, so I can't say on that.
  10. I'm not too familiar with reshade, but could you add something like ambient occlusion?
  11. We've managed to remodel a few things, but remodelling all of the models would be significantly more difficult. We also have a way to smooth character models, but we don't know enough to consistently ensure it works. (As far as I can tell, anyway) As far as the weapons, we already have a mod that remodels basically all of them in both games to a much higher detail poly count.
  12. I couldn't help but snicker when I saw the "crocs" wearing Jedi, but this was a fantastically done fan film. It's surprising how accurate Maul's depiction and the very imaginative fighting techniques displayed were used. I'm curious, are there any others like it? I really dig the story and acting. Thanks for the find, SS.
  13. This is disturbingly intriguing.. ': /
  14. The circle is complete.... Also the trees there grow three hundred feet tall and breathe fire!
  15. Force Storm and Force Freeze are so OP, but so much fun to use. The Static Blast was also great against the HK factory..
  16. Well, considering Nintendo has taken down several Fan-Made Pokemon games, including remaking them in newer engines, I would say it is quite likely it would be considered infringement.. No idea how Disney would handle it, though.
  17. I followed the Team Gizka Project back when it was TSLRP, and it was several YEARS until I even knew DS existed, let alone had actually completed it. I had gotten minimal results from the established Lucas-themed forums, and so was effectively forced to "upload my mod and hope for some sort of result". I was invited here a "casual" who barely knew how to edit anything more complex than a .zip file. I can't abide this needless elitism, as it hurts many an aspiring modding career. I mean, TSLRCM has gotten so much exposure that it has actually started some people on the path of creating their own mods! Steam might be a faceless corporation, but its users deserve the same respect as any of us.. Perhaps they may seem lazy, but honestly, our particular hobby is incredibly esoteric and many people aren't able or perhaps willing to put the hours of learning and downloading extra tools to benefit from it as we are.
  18. Eh, at least they bothered to use the level layout and Aurekbesh.. That said, I wonder if this has any connection to that Jedi Knight remake which oddly enough was also in Unreal... Also, they might not get a copyright strike, but they'll definitely get a trademark strike for using the original level names. :/
  19. Well, there was actual nationwide news about TSLRCM being accessible through Steam, so I think leaving a chance to appeal your decision through something like Reddit might be beneficial, but I do agree with you. At the very least, people will stop utilizing mods from the workshop with TSLRCM, and causing untold problems with their installation. :/
  20. I think if you check out the tech from the Onderonian Wars you could make a similar shuttle that would blend in with the postwar populace of Iziz. Or...you could go an entirely different route and make it look like a typical freighter (dull colors, heavy plating) which I think was the design Obsidian was actually going for. Mandalorian ships actually seem to either be light brown or brushed metal in terms of coloration, btw.
  21. The basilisk was actually a giant robot dragon the Mandalorians rode on top of in the comics , but Chris Avellone thought that was stupid , so he used a Virago model (Xizor's personal snubfighters , so he used a Virago model (Xizor's personal snubfighters ) instead.
  22. Maybe if they had the more iconic Imperial theme.
