Just a heads-up. If you try running the installer after getting the unhandled exception error and DON'T uninstall to the point before starting it, (IE before you ran the installer), then it may create duplicate entries in the 2da and JRL files. I ran it twice after getting the error the first time, and had to go through manually and delete the extra entries. Easily remedied by replacing the 2da files with those in the TLSPatchData Unless you have installed K1R already. Also, since the installer crashed, it had no time to make a backup folder, and thus my original files were gone or altered.

Kotor modding is a bit different where all mods are tested in order to see if they are compatible with the bigger mods, like TSLRCM. As far as I know, NPC Overhaul and Dustil Restoration work fine together. (However, GO-TO Overhaul is currently conflicting with TSLRCM, but a team is hard at work in getting it fixed. Until further notice, GO-TO Overhaul is not compatible and might be better to avoid using with TSLRCM) Every single mod on the site is tested to ensure that it is compatible with TSLRCM, and if it's not listed explicitly on the download page, there is almost always an explanation in its comments or Readme. Even then, TSLPatcher creates a Backup folder during installation, so you can revert to the older files if a mod turns out to be causing problems. The weapon model Overhaul has caused me no problems, since it gets installed directly into the Override; and if by Telos Overhaul, you mean Jorak's texture pack http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/759-tsl-origins-telos-overhaul/ , then it should be a simple Override installation, and should be fully compatible. For the record, I regularly use 20+ mods (60 mods in my last playthrough) including up to 3 gigs of textures and models taking space in my Override.

I must first say that is is an essential mod in my Override. Your writing is both measured and definitely speaks well of The PC as an actual character rather than a rambling moron. ( ) As a personal request, could you maybe fix/change the "Force, what's that?" or "The Star Forge, what's that?" or, "Sith Empire, what's that?" statements that make me cringe every time I read them?....

Welcome to the community. Kotor is based extensively in the Tales of the Jedi comic https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Jedi starting with The Golden Age of the Sith https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Jedi:_Golden_Age_of_the_Sith For Korriban's history Since Star Wars canon is soon changing, I can't say if it will remain valid.

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion (MASSIVE SPOILERS)

From what I remember, you have to edit the model .mdl or .mdx file to enable bumpmaps, first, or the .TXI can't work.
-
Regarding TXI files. The process is incredibly simple. Just create a notepad file (.txt) and rename the extension to .TXI The code for a cubemap (typed in after opening the TXI with notepad) is, "EnvmapTexture" followed by whatever the name of your cubemap is. For starters, "EnvmapTexture CM_Baremetal" is the code for the standard metal reflect map you see on vibroblades and a lot of armor.

This issue has happened to me since I first started playing the Kotor games. Technically enabling VSync *should fix it, However, I can't be certain, since I always use VSync now, and it could be a coincedence that I haven't seen the issue happen very recently.

Issue is fixed. Please let me know if there are any problems with the new files.

Indeed. On the flip side, I heard that TFA actually used practical effects, and the creative teams for the originals were brought in to do things like the (trying out adding spoiler tags in a comment in case people haven't seen the movie) Ironically I personally haven't seen it, but I also heard the people working on it had a lot of fun making it. So, I still am deeply annoyed with what Disney did to the EU, but as far as a Star Wars movie, it almost seemed to rekindle the creative magic of the original films.

At the behest of SH, I decided to post the entire quote and my own thoughts on a new blog post.

First, I will start this post to say that I was aghast at the sudden termination of the Expanded Universe. Like it or not, I personally grew up reading everything I could find on Wookiepedia (the ultimate compendium of all Star Wars brand literature and entertainment properties) From a fairly young age I was thrilled that such a thing as the Star Wars Universe could exist and that somehow every new product could be connected to this rich Lore previously established. However, as I continue to collect new experience, I can at least partially understand the reasons for its departure. For one, each new product would be required to follow every single plot point and established character before it. This becomes difficult for a writer, much less a scriptwriter for a big budget movie, since well, reading the ten to fifteen years of existing events is unbelievably unrealistic especially if they hope to make said movie in any timely manner. Additionally, to write even a semi-realistic story with the likes of a three-eyed Mutant Clone of Darth Sidious, talking Lizard People bent on putting human minds into robot drones, and giant telepathic space spiders or Kilikiks (who are giant telepathic space insects of some sort) is frankly asking for skill that few scriptwriters posess, and no movie studio in its right mind would fund. So I can at least understand the logic behind the decision. However, my concern from the start was for the talented writers of the Expanded Universe who toiled for years to fit their own magnum opus into the wacky and unbelievable web of stories that comprised the Star Wars Canon. Well, believe it or not, some authors such as (like it or not) the founder of the Expanded Universe as we know it, Timothy Zahn was undeterred by this news. ]TimothyZahnAuthor 543 points 1 year ago I wasn't going to address this topic. But since so many of you have asked: What the "non-canon" announcement by LFL means is that they aren't going to be bound by the Expanded Universe books, comics, and games as they plan their new movies. Realistically, that's something they had to do -- the EU is just too big, complicated, and occasionally contradictory for them to have to deal with. However, I'm guessing that EU stories that aren't referenced (or contradicted) by the sequel movies will still be considered sort-of alive, in the same way that most Clone Wars-era stories (like Outbound Flight) were mostly unaffected, with the exception being all of the previous material on Boba Fett's backstory. Alternatively, if the new movies do contradict my books in some way, I can probably come up with some hand-waving story that will explain the apparent discrepancy. If there's one thing we authors are good at, it's hand-waving. So perhaps the long train of authors who toiled away for years will have a shot at this new Universe being birthed after the tragic death/exile of our own galaxy. I find it difficult to see, but it is interesting that some are taking this much better than I had previously anticipated, and that maybe we will have in our possession something as good or better than we had. --If you are so inclined, feel free to comment on my own perspective on the matter, perhaps you view the ignoring of the EU as less of a death and more as a clarification of dubious facts. Perhaps you've hated the Expanded Universe for providing details where there should be more imagination.. If such discussion requires more space, I would be happy to speak further on an Expanded Universe topic..

I kind of noticed after the character limit garbled it.. I just am not sure if it counts as a blog post so much as a
discussion piece, though..

Star Wars Episode VII Discussion (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
Malkior replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in Star Wars
While I agree with your point, we may be getting off-track a bit.. The EU has a vast array of information and many examples of good and bad writing. However, it is so incredibly dense that perhaps we should open a civil discussion thread of why the EU deserved to be retained and whether recreating the entire Star Wars storyline was a good or bad idea. That said, personally, I am quite interested in people's opinions on the new movie and maybe other future projects in this new canon, and I believe this thread is a great place for discussions such as that. -
Star Wars Episode VII Discussion (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
Malkior replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in Star Wars
It's cool guys. Honestly I will reserve judgement for when I actually see this "sequel" (I know, a bit shocking to be on a spoiler thread..) I hear great things from some people about the quality, and if the movie can stand on its own, then I applaud that. However, I am going to be honest with you guys, at this point prior to watching this, as a direct sequel, I think this movie honestly shouldn't exist in my opinion. If it reuses the plot of the first breakout Star Wars film but has to hold onto what made the films so popular, (lightsabers, X-Wings, certain doom by galaxy killing weapon), then all of those are to its detraction. (Lest we forget what happened to the Terminator storyline..) I would much prefer a "spiritual successor" to Star Wars, where everything from the theme to the characters are drastically different, yet it takes key events from the previous films and gives them a new or fresh prespective. However, my opinion is simply my expectations for my idea of an appropriate film. It would be far more reasonable, as far as I'm concerned that others don't assume just because people disagree with decisions of the movie that automatically they are blinded by nostalgia. -

Hmm.. The Suncrusher, a weapon that fires hypernuclear warheads into a star and destroys everything nearby with the supernova it causes? (Actually, in retrospect, kind of cool.. but still ridiculous/silly..) -
To the best of my knowledge, there is a mover object (also called a dummy object) that the Harbinger model basically attaches to in order to move, and it appears to me that the model isn't attaching. No idea why a movement is affected by the disguise effect on the suit, but the On-Enter script is quite likely to blame, since replacing it fixes the issue, so they are both connected to it.

Alright. I'm looking into it. Thanks for the heads-up. Could be something with how the spacesuit model or texture is replaced. It might be easier to switch the Jekk jekk tar spacesuit instead, since it doesn't use a mover object. However, I don't know how changing an entirely unrelated module would gel with everyone.

Preety sure the OP edited a significant amount of his actual post. I remember there being an entire diatribe about incompetence and certain people needing to know how to mod if they were so good at their job, but now HH just sounds like a jerk with the omission. Ironic, no? Edit- (because people can do that to their posts ) I wouldnt be surprised if this individual is actually the OP sowing seeds of dissent after editing their aforementioned post... Or that could be just a weird coincidence..

1. PLC_SwpMon01 thru PLC_SwpMon03 for the back panel, PLC_SwScreen for the static podracer/Swoop, and PLC_SwScrn01 thru PLC_SwScrn03 for the animated Swoop footage. 2. I believe is TEL_Force_Wall_1 and TEL_Force_Wall_2 for the forcefield and TEL_Wn03 for the big blue window. TEL_Wn01 and TEL_Wn02 may also be involved. Hope these help.

Why "The Old Republic" wasn't very good, in my opinion.
