  1. @ebmar, I just released this video. I would like to see how this one goes before I discuss follow ups.
  2. The other mod was not the Yavin IV mod . . . but that might be worth a look down the road.
  3. I typed this as I waited for my video to upload to YouTube . . . Today, I ramble about . . . mod overview videos. After my recent video on the (now ancient) Lonna Vash mod, I decided to keep up my output by working on another mod overview video. I would strike while the irons were still red hot and reach into the archive for some forgotten work not available on Deadly Stream. This time it would be on the "Ord Mandell" mod by RedHawke. I'd use mods to freshen it up. I'd (attempt to) add my (disputed) trademark wit to it. I'd make (allegedly) hilarious comments on the numerous spelling and grammar errors. I'd toss off sarcastic asides on the reused maps. All would be joyous. After recording a bunch of footage, I realized that I hadn't checked out YouTube to see what other videos had already covered this topic. Not that another video would stop me from finishing - I was too far in to give up - but I did have to "scope out the competition." The first video I saw was a general overview. It wasn't bad but it wasn't going as deep. I was about to "x" out the tab for YouTube and then - I saw it. Off to the right of the screen, I saw another video - nay, 4 videos as it was a series. It beckoned me. It called out as if to say "You know you want to look." And then I did. Oh no. It was a good series. It covered the materials in ways I couldn't. For starters, it had the novelty of being on Android system, and I hadn't seen a mod covered that way before. Unlike my planned take, it covered the material not with a haughty disdain but actual unvarnished joy. It didn't rail against the errors but for what it brought to the table. And it was worth watching. So I'll just say this: go check out Negative Zero's "Ord Mandell" series. Part 0 is a modding tutorial to install the mod to Android devices but that's not your cuppa tea, start off with Episode 1 and see a modding / Let's Play video done right. TL;DR: This is a good video to watch. And this one . . . is mine. (Be kind . . . even if I wasn't.) P.S.: Negative Zero, where's a review of the Steam version of M4-78 EP? (As I don't think he's a member, maybe someone could ask him?) Post-P.S.: This is now also a thread on the KotOR Subreddit.
  4. Hey guys, if there's a mod to improve the textures of the "random" trios of dark Jedi that meet you in K1, could you list a link below?  Much obliged...

I've wound using Prime's skins for this.  (It was for my ORD Mandell video.)

  5. I sent Tyvokka a PM a few hours ago. He was probably asleep when I sent it. so give it some time @N-DReW25
  6. Trying editing the initial post.
  7. Young enough for Carth to call her a kid.
  8. @Fair Strides Is the ORD Mandell mod compatible with K1R?
  9. Thank goodness I wasn't the only one thinking this. (Mission is 14 years old, if you've forgotten.)

      Hmm, those are nice posters!

      Edit: And hilarious! 🤣

  10. I haven't heard of any that do that but I suppose you could always change your character appearance with KSE. (It would take less time than downloading and installing mod.)
  11. This blog post is actually for my own reference so I don't have to seek out which of the many posts I've mentioned it in. When folks mention their "big modding project" or their "huge overhaul" of either KotOR1 or KotOR2, here's what I used to quote... If you actually wish to see if a large scale project will make it to release, see if they follow this advice. If they don't, that project likely won't make it. You may use the above quote to remind folks when "the next big thing" rolls around.
  12. So this one . . . with the hood down . . . rather than this one?
  13. I treat them as "dislikes" now. They are especially useful to apply to the impatient.
  14. New video on my channel:

Leave comments and rates on the YT page, please?

Should I do another overview mod in this fashion?  It would have to be mod that's finished and not in beta (open or otherwise.)

Looks like I have two mod choices to consider.  What are they?  You'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

  15. Maybe you shouldn't rush in to a decision . . . and perhaps listen to them first? IMHO, Selkath should sound like Selkath. They aren't generic, they are fishies! (And considering what M4-78 originally looked like, I would know.;)) Selkath.7z PS: If you folks out here like what I've attached and think these versions should be used instead, you should probably let @N-DReW25 know you feel. Of course, it's his project so don't be pushy.
  16. You probably should make new thread for each request? Just a suggestion.
  17. Upvoted your thread on Reddit. (Help Constar out and help spread the word!)
  18. Selven . . . Honey. . . Get a restraining order because ebmar is stalking you.
  19. Whatever is easiest for you!
  20. I lean towards replacing the in-game BIKs completely rather than merely extending them. As you pointed out, it enables to avoid the issues of assets you don't have access to and using any sound design and music that you wish to use. Seeing as you would be making a higher resolution (and larger) movie, not reusing any of the original materials to artificially extend the preexisting video is actually a bonus. I would cheer for new versions that make use of your current talents and the latest available tools.
