Remember, I have to nothing to gain from this so I'm not going to do research on a "not-a-mod" that I'm not going to play. However, as you are actively interested in this, you have more to lose. Hey, if this thing gets made - the whole thing - and it doesn't get C and D'd to oblivion, good for you! In the mean time, it would help your argument to have something specific to point on how exactly the legal issues will be addressed. Jumping into these threads can't be terribly fun for you without some sort of back up. (The kind of back up that should be clearly on their FAQ page.) BTW - to other folks perusing this post: Is Apeiron's FAQ page still littered with multiple spelling and grammar issues? Mildly curious but not enough to head over to their site.

You're a fan of this. I get this. I really do. As you've seen this argument about using the game to unlock the "not-a-mod" come up again and again, don't you think - as a fan - that they should be more forthcoming about how that might be implemented? I personally don't see how they'll be able to do it. How will they make it so KOTOR legal copies activate this "not a mod" and prevent cracked versions from also doing so? If you have faith in these developers, it seems like that's a question you or others should be asking. I have no skin in this game and you have more to lose. If you're active in their bases of operation, perhaps you'll get a concrete answer. I hope you do get a satisfactory answer! Until they're more transparent however, I remain skeptical.

The Apeiron developer admitted that was a lie. Reread the initial post and read the conversation in the pictures.

A free version of KotOR is taking money out of the license holder's pockets. Had that not occurred to you?

I am surprised that more folks from here haven't commented about this on the Reddit thread about this topic. Even more surprised that the Apeiron sycophants haven't been down rated more.

A background with more light - like Tatooine - might be better to show off this skin.

If you've played the game using a female KotOR1 PC and have also consulted this Word Document (updated), you'll realize that only one of each line usually plays in the game. (Not counting combat reaction sounds, of course.) If you care to help out the cause, you could do the following: print out the linked document and the next time you play KotOR1, make a check next to a line of that document when you hear the female player character say it in the game. Let's figure out which ones never play and which ones do. When you've finished your complete play-through with this process, post which lines never played in this thread. That'll help me out if I need to decide which lines need to be recorded and which ones don't. Once that's done, I may have some ideas about alternate versions of the lines but first things first. (No side quests until we finish the main quest. )

Perhaps we should listen to the originals? That might be a good plan.

A reminder: this thread only deals with the female main player characters. I have my reasons for this.

For those that wish discuss the voice actor for the Male Player Character, go to this thread instead. When reading the dialogue in either of the two games, what kind of voice do you hear in your head for a male main character (either the Mysterious Stranger or the Exile) when you read those lines? Here are some thoughts to consider before replying. What's the age of the voice? What's the accent? (Specify the country and region.) Is it a particular actor that you had in mind for voicing the role? (Provide a YouTube sample of his voice, if that's the case.) Are the voices the same for the main male player character in both games? (If not, list the information separately for each game's main PC.) The results may or may not affect a project I may or may not do way down the line - but I make no promises.

I'd just like someone to work on this texture from KotOR1 and KotOR2. I'm no good at cloth textures but I'm sure someone could knock it out of the park. It would be nice to complete the Czerka theme.

I thought @ndix URwas working on a phoneme project of his own before the porting situation was changed to allow stuff to be used between KotOR1, KotOR2, and SWTOR. (I think the theory was to add the existing sound files into a database so you could create new dialogue using everyone's voices.) Perhaps his material might be of assistance?

I guess I'll have to post a picture of it myself. If you want the mod package update, either like this post or leave light side points. If you don't think I should bother, dark side points will do.

How does one do lip syncing now with tools that work? A current tutorial would be most appreciated. Seeing that neither Ndix UR or I will be doing this aspect of the update project for the Korriban Expansion mod means someone else is going to have do that. The main reason I'm asking about this is because I've received two PM's this week about this. (Apparently the notice that I'm not on the Staff anymore hasn't taken root.)

@ebmar: That's a completely different texture, by the way. I didn't say I'd consider this . . . but . . . drop the attached file in your Override and let me know if shows up. (Pictures would help if it does.) If it works and if people want it, give the first person that posts pictures of this new texture in the game likes or light side points. That's how I'll determine if I need to update the package or not - your like will be vote. (Because the way the site works, this attachment won't last forever.) I'd test it myself but I have my own Ord Mantell textures replacing these. (Those Ord Mantell textures were for this video, which could use some comments and likes on YouTube by the way.)
