  1. I guess I could but I honestly don't think I can do any better than the one already available.
  2. I'm bumping this thread because I've run into this issue before and thought it was just changing to an AMD graphics card that did it. I'm running into this issue again trying to play a mod build of KOTOR2 and can't make it past the title crawl.
  3. My download gets blocked because a virus is detected in the file.
  4. View File "CineMalak" - HD Malak Retexture As a staunch "vanilla" purist, I've been dismayed at the selection of HD retextures for Malak made available, so I decided to finally make one myself. For years, I've been using an older 1k upscale of the stock in-game texture for Malak and it just wasn't fitting with the other HD mods I have installed over the years. I still wanted to keep the 1k upscale, as it just "pops" in-game really well. I wanted to approach this as if a film costumer had to interpret the original designs. I wanted to stay as close to the original design as possible but use real-world fabrics and materials present today to reinterpret the original artwork into something more in line with the simple and robust OT aesthetics. I publish this with the express permission by @Dark Hope whose HD Malak texture served as the base for the alterations I made. I kept her neck collar untouched and recolored and added a few more textures on top of the chest piece to make it feel like a real costume material, like a rubber or foam piece. I then combined the upscaled vanilla texture for the accessories and hands and further painted and textured on top of them. The more exhaustive texturing work are the soft parts, adding my own custom textures to reinterpret what was there. I made the arm wraps by scanning double-pleated cotton gauze, backlaid with heavy textured watercolor paper for some depth and thickness, and used a crushed cotton, pleated crepe fabric for the rest of his compression coveralls, taking inspiration from vintage high-altitude jumpsuits. I added piping for where seams would be to join the different fabrics, and have pleated nylon stretch fabric for the pits and back of the knees for mobility; the cape and tabards are simple black wool drapery, ala Darth Vader, but given slightly different hues to read better on screen, much like components of Darth Maul's costume. I gave him ribbed, padded kneepads, as seen on some Jon Mollo costume sketches, and some back detailing to fill some empty space but keeping true to existing design elements. I added little quirks like hidden stitching, and folds and pleats that would visually "explain" why his cape never folds over his shoulders or how the wrappings on his arms don't bunch up at the shoulders. Little touches that just make it seem more like a real-world costume. Paired with the 'red eyes' option for Malak's head, also by Dark Hope, now there is a Malak texture option I think most can be proud of. INSTALLATION: Just drop the file into your game's "Override" folder. REMOVAL: Remove file from the "Override" folder. 6. Hate to be a bugaboo about this but I think I ran into another bug with this (or K1CP-RC or the Thor11 room mod recommended with this) possibly conflicting with the "Sunry Recording" Mod. Upon downloading the video from the Republic embassy on Manaan for this to play, the game "black-screen's". This modifies the module that I think the recommended installs do too and that's where a conflict comes up. I take the back-up module file before the install(s) and replace it, and the game goes back to normal but I think there's another conflicting thing where opening Firith Me's locker in the room crashes the game. Dunno what that is about. I'm currently looking into it for other things that may be causing this with my mod build. Just a heads up.
  7. I installed your mods as recommended in your "read me's", compatibility patch included; yes, I install the dialogue fix first before installing the K1CP and HD Menu Mods. Those are the three at the top of my "MODS" folder that I install. Then, it's "Improved AI" and after that, "Thematic Companions" and a slew of model fixes and HD cosmetic options. Yours were the last mods I recently installed well after I installed the other mods I have. I never got far enough to the actual game before I fixed the menu issues.
  8. I originally installed all the mods you offered and when I noticed the issue, I whittled it down the to the "Alignment" one and it resolved the matter. I didn't include any K2 abilities to this; I'm a bit of a K1 purist. I have a list of mods, mostly cosmetic and few that alter gameplay (beyond K1CP) like "Dialogue Fixes", "Improved AI", "Thematic Party Abilities", and "Repeating Blaster Bonus". I install the Community Patch first, then the HD mods, then further gameplay and cosmetic mods like that afterwards. I have an ordered list to install all the important ones first and in what order so none conflict.
  9. @The_Chaser_One Mod link for the Alien Ported VO mod:
Makes the game feel more complete and a lot more stable than the K1R version. Modder is also very helpful and responsive!
  10. I only just noticed that I have a specularity issue on the armor for the "new shader" option, where the armor looks transparent rather than shiny on some of them. Is there a fix for this, or what should I be looking out for in my override folder?
  11. Has he? It's been awhile since I've played KOTOR so I've completely forgotten but the line he said he was "a traveller from Duro" made me think he was a Duros, too. I guess I'm jumpy from Jolan being a Rodian now.
  12. Hmm, it must be with the K1CP-RC or NPC Diversity mod that's futzing with something then. I'm on Manaan and Hulas the Duros from the Genoharadan quest is now also a Rodian.
