Well, it's not used because the model looks pretty ridiculous, frankly. I believe Obsidian decided not to use the model because she looked too much like the Disney villain Maleficent. Also, since the game deals a lot with moral ambiguity, such a transformation seems drastic and out of place for Atris. That said, there are still people who like it restored and I believe there exists a mod that does this.

Whatever the case, it's an issue with the build. It's possible it can be fixed some way (not sure what that would be) but Kai Don Jorn's sabers have been having the same issues.

Yeah, this is an issue with the most recent build of KOTOR II. Not sure what the cause is

Personally, I would not worry about the transparent portraits. As cool as it would be, I think getting the HD icons in play first would be better.
