Star Wars Episode VII - No Spoilers, Please!
VarsityPuppet replied to Eauxps I. Fourgott's topic in Star Wars
Maybe we can coordinate with Sith Holocron and Tyvokka for maximum spoiler protection? -
Whew, been awhile since an update. I've started work on Duplisaber again. Getting close to where we were before I tore the installer apart. This time around I have a much more robust framework to work with, something I'll be carrying over into future projects and future versions of this mod. Probably a little while until I have something I can release. But soon Sith with green lightsabers will be an issue of the past.

Star Wars Episode VII - No Spoilers, Please!
VarsityPuppet replied to Eauxps I. Fourgott's topic in Star Wars
Fortunately, most people here are reasonable and won't intentionally spoil things, unlike Game of Thrones book fans, who used to spoil everything. We should maybe have all of our Episode VII discussions in one thread. -
Ugh, this is exactly the type of Star Wars nerd I despise. Not you, Quanon, the writer of that article you linked. The pretentious context of the article is nothing short of annoying. That said, some comments: Firstly, don't do his Machete cut. Instead of Episode II and III, watch A Phantom Edit. Since he's so concerned with relevancy, why not take it to the next level and cut out irrelevant plot lines from 2 and 3, and include relevant content from Episode I? Secondly, beware of Harmy's Despecialized Editions. Many cite the selling point of Harmy's cuts are that they are "original theatrical cuts" of the movies. This is a blatant lie. While they do remove many of the Special Edition CGI and restore many scenes to their original state, they are NOT the "original theatrical cuts". I've watched the VHS version enough times, and there are several aspects that Harmy does not restore. Lastly, just watch Star Wars in whatever order you want, probably something closer to chronological release.

I'm wondering, with Ep VII a week away, if there are any mods in the works that reflect content from the movie? New Storm Trooper helmet? Rey/Finn/Poe heads?

Reshade for KOTOR/TSL -
I don't have a problem with the hype train, necessarily, just certain aspects. I realize that not everything is going to actually appeal to me, specifically, nor is it designed to.

Star Wars Episode VII is about a week away, and I'm sure you've encountered some sort of Star Wars content in the past few months. On one hand, it's nice to see so much attention on a beloved franchise once again. People seem far more excited for this than Episode III, though again that was 10 years ago and I don't remember much from then. Anyways, not all of this attention is good. I've seen some really cringe-worthy and poorly informed content recently. It's inevitable as everyone is trying to cash in, but I'm wondering... What terrible Star Wars content have you seen recently? Here's my submissions: Under Cringe-Worthy: Reasons: - Wasted opportunity to use "Aren't you a little short for a Storm Trooper?" - Kids in disguise as Storm Troopers trying to fool Storm Troopers? Under Poorly Informed: Biggest Star Wars Facts That Even Fans Get Wrong Reasons: - Pretty much only casual fans would get any of these wrong Star Wars 7 Will Not Have a Post-Credits Scene Reasons: - There is no precedent for post-credits scenes for Star Wars films.

Batman v. Superman or Civil War?
VarsityPuppet replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in General Discussion
Speaking of which I would absolutely love to see a Green Arrow movie, with or without Stephen Amell (from Arrow). -
It currently looks a bit too dark though. I would suggest lightening it up so we can see some detail in the hair. Keep the dark highlights, though. Unrelated, but does it bother anyone else when lightning is spelled "lightening"? Ugh, it's the worst.

In a few days, I'll have a free couple of weeks to work on le ol Duplisaber!

If you're traveling, definitely look into noise canceling.

I am a fan of an old mac game called Escape Velocity. Star Citizen looks to be a next-gen successor to that type of gameplay.

I kid! I kid! Beats headphones have a reputation of being overpriced among the social circles I frequent. I have Bose Quiet Comfort 25 headphones and they've been pretty good. Noise cancelling. Though the right ear is starting to go out...

Batman v. Superman or Civil War?
VarsityPuppet replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in General Discussion
That's a fair assessment, Doctor Evil. Marvel is starting to become repetitive. Half of phase 2 was great, the other half not so much. I'm excited to see what they do with the new properties such as Doctor Strange, Black Panther, GotG 2 and Ant-Man & The Wasp. They really need to step up their game though so each of these can actual stand apart from the rest. Part of me is worried that Civil War might just be The Winter Soldiet again, but less good :/ I still don't really know how Batman v Superman will turn out. I feel like it will be mixed, just like Man of Steel. But let me reiterate: I do want to see Batman v Superman. I like Henry Cavill and Ben Afleck and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman totally works IMO I'm worried about Lex Luthor and Doomsday though... -
Batman v. Superman or Civil War?
VarsityPuppet replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in General Discussion
Civil War has the same team behind it as Winter Soldier. Same directors and same screenplay writers. That doesn't necessarily guarantee that it'll be a good movie, but keep in mind Avengers characters were included in that as well, yet the focus stayed on Captain America, mainly -
Batman v. Superman or Civil War?
VarsityPuppet replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in General Discussion
I honestly don't know. He's been great in movies that he's done recently. And yes, while Daredevil was not great, Ben Afleck was not the bad part, IMO. It was all the early 2000's nu metal :/ I've honestly thought since it was announced that he'd do great as Batman. I like Henry Cavill as an actor. The solution is get someone other than Zak Snyder to direct... well, have someone else write the screenplay. -

The least of this movie's problems, I feel. -
I don't know how many here follow such things, but in addition to Star Wars I am psyched for two upcoming movies. Both of their trailers have been released close to one another and it seems like they've been competing ever since they were first announced. So which do you think will be the better movie? Batman v. Superman? http://youtu.be/yViIi3gie2c Or Civil War? (My vote is for Civil War)
