Good afternoon. I was impressed with @JCarter426's "JC's Slave Bastila for K1 1.3". I could not resist, and I made a new texture in HD. Resolution 2048X2048. Increasing the resolution allowed to improve the quality of the texture and add detailed ornaments. The archive contains only textures. Installed on top of JC's Slave Bastila for K1 1.3 https://deadlystream.com/files/file/1299-jcs-slave-bastila-for-k1/?tab=comments

Judging by that video, what they've created so far looks absolutely beautiful. I don't have much confidence in them making an actual game out of it before getting DMCA'd, but I do hope that at some point the assets they've created are released as a "walking simulator" game so that I can just kind of look around at the worlds they've built.

I was wondering: does the music from KotOR1 and KotOR2 that is included in SWTOR have a higher bit rate in SWTOR than in their original games? If so, perhaps someone should consider making a mod to to take advantage of that.

JC2 PRESENTS KILL MARLENA On Tatooine, Marlena decides it is O.K. to murder her husband. While the PC is either oblivious to this, or acknowledges it, yet still does nothing about it. This is wrong. Being ignorant or merely not understanding a psychotic woman is understandable, but for those who chose the dialogue option "it sounds like you are going to kill him!" Then, it becomes apparently obvious that a mod is needed to fix this lame interaction into a character developing moment. You can either bring justice to the outer rim by killing her, as a Jedi. Or you can cut her down, because she assumed you to be a low life thug. Or even, simply because she reminds you of your ex-girlfriend who broke your heart and you need compensation from a video game to express the full extent of your "feelings." You poor thing. Nevertheless, there are 6 total response the PC can have to this situation. 5 Darkside responses leading to death. 3 Lightside responses/outcomes Added an additional force persuasion option, it'll make you laugh! Therefore, if you are not sure if you'll go darkside or lightside, you will still benefit from downloading this mod! Also, you can inform Tanis (her husband) of his wife's condition. Either alive, dead, or gone, etc... See readme for full disclosure on the mod, including how to get the most out of it. ------------------------------------ I hope you enjoy! Please give any feedback, even negative! I need it to improve. Recommend downloading Ebmar's Marlena Venn Legends reskin to improve the experience. ------------------------------------ Credits: Fred Tetra for KT and Stoffe for his tslpatcher Deadlystream.com for hosting this mod. 1. MOD OBJECTIVE: To make Star Wars: The Sith Lords a whole new and challenging epic adventure from the beginning until the end. 2. WHAT IS THIS MOD? This mod basically changes all classes (mostly non-jedis) to be a little tougher and balanced. It also increases the difficult of the game, your enemies have higher lvl (more XP), to hit, damage, etc. There are many changes in this mod based upon the Star Wars Saga (the latest D20 system Pen&Paper RPG); Mira is now a true Bounty Hunter. Classes 2da: I've reworked all recommended stats for most classes, clicking it while creating your character will give you a little boost. Also, reworked your allies starting stats related to the changes. All non-jedi classes: have 2/4 extra VP, base jedi classes (JS/JG/JC): have the same VP gain (10), FP gain (3), feat gain, power gain and skills. In SW Saga, it's only one class with little differences. Reduced the FP gain for each other force user class, but now they all have the force sensitive feat (40 extra FP). featgain.2da: all base jedi classes now gain feats as a Jedi Guardian and i gave 1, 2 or 3 extra feats to every non-jedi class. acbonus.2da: scout and tech specialist gained armor bonus per level; +16 ac by lvl 50. k_sp1_generic.ncs: most BUFF force powers have a extended duration (60 seconds); to compensate the lower FP each class has. The Whole speed and fury tree of powers doesn't give extra atacks/armor anymore, rebalanced force valor/force shield related powers (weaker, but they full stack now). Baseitems.2da/ItemCreate.2da: Improved all blasters (they are REAL blasters now) and some swords damage, tweaked saber-staff damage to be the same as normal lightsaber, i.e. rebalanced everything to look like Sw Saga. Tweaked skill requirements and upgrade bonus for lightsabers, a small compensation to the lost of damage/extra atacks. Saving Throws: Jedi Master/Sith Lord have the same progression as Jedi Consular, increased droid classes ST. Scoundrel and Soldier now have a better progression, Stronger Fortitude+Reflex. DifficultyOption.2da/diffsettings.2da: I recommend you to remove the difficultyoption.2da because it may make enemies 1-shot you, it was making all the balancing harder to accomplish. ClassPowerGain.2da: I gave a progression of 2 powers at lvl 1, more 1 per level, except in lvls multiple of 3 (+1). This is a very slow progression compared to the default ones, but you wont end the game with ALL powers in the list (also you will need to think better before choosing) forceadjust.2da: increased overall Force Power cost for LS/DS characters; the objective is to reduce force power spam and give some benefits to neutral characters. Autobalance.2da: increases your enemies level, hit points, armor, to-hit, SThrows and damage. Skills.2da: All classes (except Prestige Jedi classes) have more class skills, droid combatent have more skill points and base jedi classes have the following class skills: persuade and awareness, 2 SP per level (the Exile starts with Security & Repair as extra skills). Spells.2da: Normal version; increases the FP cost of Force Crush, and other abusive force powers. HLFP version: same as before but also increases all high level powers cost, spamming these powers makes the game pretty easy, specially on bosses. I hope this will fix it. Feat.2da: All jedi's can have weapon specialization. Droid expert have way more avaiable feats, reworked skill-related feats for everyone (so it matches its new skills). I am recovering the old implants feats from kotor 1, since everyone have a increased feat gain and you level up faster, no need to waste points in constitution anymore. ForceShields.2da: merely cosmetic, all shields but the droids doesn't have animations anymore; in the last version all shields have been nerfed. ChemicalCreate.2da: Now you can build all implants if you have the required skill. 3. HOW DO I USE IT? Just dump everything in your Override folder. I recommend doing so after you have installed HLFP 2.1 (or not) and before any other mod that uses the TSL patcher.exe. 4. MOD COMPATIBILITY: This mod is fully compatible with TSLRCM and ImprovedAI/High level F. Powers by stoffe (2.1 version). It can be fully compatible with any mods that dont mess with the same files. There's a english dialog.tlk file which must be placed in the game folder before any mod that mess with this file, in order to see the ingame changes (make backups). 5. UNINSTALL: Remove all the files. 6. Bugs & Issues: I dont think theres anything wrong here, if you find anything strange, report to me at http://www.deadlystream.com/forum/ or email me max_mms@hotmail.com if its not a problem to you. 7. CREDITS: Created by HaVoKeR. You may use this mod at will, i just ask that my name stick with it. =) Inspiration and sources (script related): Beancounter, Stoffe, Achilles and Envida.

Uploaded by permission o the author. "Anyone else remember this mod of deathdisco's? A while ago it was posted on pcgamemods, and like all the others that were it was lost during the crash. Until now, at least! He's (obviously, or you wouldn't be reading this) been kind enough to re-submit it here. What it adds is, as the name rather implies, Exar Kun's tomb to the game. It's a bit outdated compared to some of today's new area mods, (in that it re-uses an area) but it's still worth exploring. Most of it is a hackfest through the various Dark Jedi guardians (hurrah for more XP), but at the end your character will be confronted by Exar Kun's ghost and have the opportunity for an alignment shift as well as some good loot. To reach the tomb visit the Yavin space station, and then go back to the Hawk. At that point you'll be presented with an option to travel to Yavin IV, though if you don't have a savegame handy you can always warp to the module directly. (The name being 'ekun'.) Well, that's that. Enjoy! -Emperor Devon" (Original KotORFiles review.) This Mod Lets you visit Exar Kun's Tomb on Yavin IV, where The ghost of Exar Kun will try to seduce you to the darkside. Installation Extract all the files in the override folder to your 'Override' directory. Extract all the files in the modules folder to your 'modules' directory. All source scripts are included in the nss folder. How-to Travel to the Yavin spacestation. Upon returning to the Ebon Hawk you will be presented with the option to travel to the ruins on Yavin IV. or Open console by pressing '~' and type "warp ekun". Notes To uninstall simply delete all the files extracted to your Override/modules directory.

Are you trying to prove you can do better than my coveted Hue/Saturation method?! Because you've succeeded. Only thing I would suggest is maybe toning down the shadows around the necklace and instead go for a bump map to give it depth. I didn't set the model to have a bump map, but I could do that for the next update.

@Snigaroo : It still seems like that the upload is a violation Rule 1. You might have to rewrite the rule.

We didn't handle the situation as well as we should have and we definitely had an unacceptable delay in communicating our reasoning, and we'll own up to that. But the threads weren't locked to prevent discussion, and we're not hosting cracks just for the fun of it. The Steam version of the game still experiences what I call the fullscreen bug, which forces an auto-minimization whenever two cutscenes are played back-to-back. Usually this bug results in the window being unrecoverable, which means that the game can't even be properly booted into--intro cutscenes are, after all, still cutscenes. This is a major problem and the #1 piece of tech support which /r/kotor deals with on a daily basis, and widescreen guides (such as Xuul's) are an integral part not only of our tech support on the matter, but also of the mod builds' recommended procedures, precisely to prevent this bug from ever happening. If you guessed that widescreen patching requires an unencrypted executable on Steam, you would be right, and that's why we're here. Even Xuul links to these executables directly in his videos. They aren't optional stuff for people on Steam who want to be able to play the game normally; even I have to utilize these .exes every single time I mod the game. We're not hosting these lightly, and that's precisely why we're not calling them cracks: they're named "editable" so people directed here to download them might not think about it too hard, and the threads in question are locked to prevent users from pointing out that they're cracked, just in the hopes that there's even less chance people who would use them for malicious purposes would notice. Realistically there are much easier ways to pirate KOTOR and KOTOR 2, especially since the GoG executables are fully unencrypted as-is, but we still took precautions just in case. As I said before, this wasn't a matter taken lightly. But the main concern is that the sites on which these .exes are currently hosted are positively infested with viruses, malware and pervasive ads, as you would expect. It isn't safe for users to get them from there, and yet in order to play these games properly many users positively require these executables. The staff have discussed the matter now at some length, and we've agreed that it's not justifiable to continue asking users whose only crime is owning the Steam version of the game to go to unsafe sites in order to download necessary materials just in the name of principles. We don't advocate piracy, but collectively the staff has (thus far) unanimously agreed that these are beneficial as tools, and that their potential uses for piracy (which their usage for, so far as we can police it, is still fully banned) are outweighed by their benefits.

Many thanks eNoodles, everything turned out, everything works, successes to you in modding, all thanks) As they say in Russia: "without departing from the ticket office," let me ask, perhaps in the context of another topic, because the solution with your help is found, again thanks: 1) I noticed a long time ago that Canderous Ordo (in kotor 1) does not react to the change of the heavy armor model (seen in the screenshot), what do you think is caused by this? 2) I have reviewed everything, but I can not find a solution to why instead of the Mandalorian assault armor (white shade that normally works in kotor 2), when dressing, the whole model of the Mandalorian (blue) is obtained, how to eliminate it? Thank you very much!)))

You must have s_female02.mdl/mdx in the same folder as p_mandalorebd.mdlx/mdx. the Use MDLedit, set the mode to Kotor 2. Load p_mandalorebd.mdl. Then save it as ASCII. Set the mode to Kotor 1, then load that ASCII model. Then save it as a binary and it will be ready for K1.
  16. 1 point
You need to decompile the model, then recompile the ASCII against the K1 S_Female02 binary supermodel. It's no different to compiling any other model. It uses the same rig as K1, so there's nothing special required in this case. You'd also need to add/change appearance.2da rows as appropriate. As @todevuch alluded to, TSL includes a body-only model, P_MandaloreBD.

I can take a sledgehammer and smash two metal objects together until they sort of fit. That doesn't mean I'd be advising other people to do the same. New users should be taught how to do things properly. One reason why that wiki sure would be handy....
  18. 1 point
You only want to be using the supermodel for the game you are compiling for. If you are compiling for K1, use K1's supermodel. It should also go without saying that the model must share the same rig as the supermodel. You can't use TSL robes with K1's supermodel, as they have different rigs (all the extra bones Obsidian added for the flappy bits).

This is the orignal tool made by bioware to create a kotor-compatible dds, please see the .doc for instructions. (it wasn't mentioned there but the TGA must be square, and a power of 2 (256x256,512x512,1024x1024,2048x2048 etc.) in resolution) NOTE: this tool is one way only, tga>dds it doesn't do the reverse.
