K1 Endgame Cutscene Improvements
A Future Pilot replied to DarthParametric's topic in Work In Progress
This is looking great DP! I do have one request: When making the Sith Troopers, could you make some of them use their 03 appearance? It won't make any difference in the base game, but if someone were to use my Sith Trooper Texture Restoration it would make them elite (either all the regular would be silver, and them white, or vice-versa). I'm really excited about this! -
My personal favorite is: If you choose to use it though, be sure to grab the blue short hilt from the comments section

Require assistance on something

I would guess it's a trigger in that area that fires a script which spawns the sentry if he's not already there, and then initiates dialog. -
Qui-Don Jorn's Sabers 4.0 KotOR Conversion
A Future Pilot commented on Kainzorus Prime's file in Mods
The Bronze and Yellow double bladed sabers are actually just mislabeled in the screenshot. The hilts in-game match up with their icons, it's just that the screenshot incorrectly labeled the yellow as bronze, and vice-versa. Also the mod is missing the hilt for the short blue lightsaber. I've attached it to this post @Kainzorus Prime feel free to add it to the main mod archive if you'd like. w_shortsbr_001.mdl w_shortsbr_001.mdx- 15 comments

It looks like the thumbnails for mods have a white background set in the css. Could this be removed so that transparency in screenshots display correctly?

View File JC and AFP's Crystal Color Selection Hello again everyone! This is a fairly simple mod that allows you to select new colors for the Heart of the Guardian and Mantle of the Force crystals. In addition to changing the blade colors, this mod also gives you three options for the icon textures: 1. Use the default in-game icon for whichever color you choose 2. Use the original Heart of the Guardian/Mantle of the Force icon recolored to match the new color 3. Use a new icon that matches the new color Thanks go to JCarter426 for creating the icons! This mod is compatible with any mod unless they happen to use the same custom model variations as this one. (If you have any lightsaber hilt or blade mods, this will simply use the models/textures from that mod of whichever color you select). As usual you may do whatever you like with this mod (reupload it, edit it, whatever), however unlike most of my mods, you must give credit to JCarter426 if you do anything with this mod. Mellowtron was kind enough to give me permission for I'd like people's opinions on this being included in the K2CP?

I think it would be fine to leave it a Vibrosword...I'm not actually sure which is correct, so whichever the wiki says lol Also, did you see my edit to change a couple values? I should have made it a new post to give you a notification, but I didn't think about it. Finally, instead of adding the Energy damage vs droids, how would you feel about changing the +3 Slashing Damage to +3 Energy Damage? I'm glad you liked my changes!
-
Alrighty! I rewrote the descriptions (including a couple slight modifications...let me know what you think!). I also adjusted the properties to remove the upgradeable options, as well as adjust the power. The new stats are: Vibrosword: Damage 1-10 (default), Damage Bonus +3 Slashing, Attack Modifier +1. This makes it the best single-bladed weapon on Taris, while still being less powerful than the Echani Vibroblade and Sanasiki's Blade which you find later. Pistol: Damage 1-8 (default), Damage Bonus +1 Energy, Damage Bonus +1 Bludgeoning, Attack Modifier +3. This makes it the best pistol on Taris, but it does less damage than the Zybrak Tystel Mark 3 (although it does have +1 more attack modifier), and not as good as the Mandalorian Heavy Pistol, or Cassus Fett's Heavy Pistol. I hope it's to your liking (but if it's not, it's all good! lol) EDIT: I realized I was using the non-upgraded versions of the Taris weapons as a comparison. After checking the upgraded versions, I would change the attack modifier of the vibrosword to +3 instead of +1, and the Energy Damage Bonus of the pistol to +2 instead of +1. sl7_rapidblaster.uti sl7_vibrosword.uti

I just tried out the mod and I really like it! I do have a few suggestions though: 1. I think the blade is somewhat overpowered as an item for the player. The stats are fine when she fights you, but as a receivable item it’s significantly stronger than anything else on Taris. I don’t think that’s necessarily a problem, as fighting her will probably be one of the last things you do now that she’s stronger, but I think it’s too strong. I’d recommend making it not upgradable, and possibly reducing the base damage as well. The blaster may need to be reduced as well, but I haven’t really checked it out much yet. 2. I think the blade and sword should be renamed to “Selven’s Vibroblade” and “Selven’s blaster pistol” to make it fit in better with vanilla item names. 3. There are some misspellings in the descriptions of the items. I’d be happy to rewrite them for you if you’d like 4. There are a couple lines in her dialog that sound kind of artificial because of the effects you applied. I want you to know I think overall you did a fantastic job (I LOVE the new look and difficulty!!), and these critiques are just my opinions, and not to put down what you did at all

Recreating The Sith Trooper Voice Effect
A Future Pilot replied to A Future Pilot's topic in Tutorials
Well DarthParametric is to thank for the .bat file. The header.bin is just the first 58 bytes of one of the basegame .wav files- 4 replies

At some point soon I'll be creating a patch that gives the Sith Assassins lightsabers on Peragus/Ebon Hawk. When I do that, I can include a fix for this as a standalone option.
-
I was thinking I would give him his Jedi robe in his inventory, so there's no change to what he has available, it would just let you see his custom clothing like you can everybody else's. Since someone objected though, I'll let some other people weigh in before adding it.

Recreating The Sith Trooper Voice Effect
A Future Pilot replied to A Future Pilot's topic in Tutorials
Lol I actually hadn't seen it. But that is the Stormtrooper sound, which is different from the Sith Trooper sound in KOTOR, so I think it's fine to have them both exist- 4 replies

In order to make my recent addition to my Sith Trooper Texture Restoration mod, I had to convert a standard Sith voice to a Sith Trooper voice. After a lot of trial and error, I've managed to make it sound pretty spot on. (If any of you audiophiles out there have any suggestions for improvements, let me know!) Also thanks to DarthParametric for a couple of batch scripts that we'll be using in this tutorial. Tools you'll need: Audacity (The audio editing software we'll be using) dd (This is a direct download link. dd is a Unix tool for reading/writing files/disks) The batch files attached to this post Setup: Create two folders, one for the input (original) files, and one for the output (new) files Save dd from the link above, and the convert.bat file attached to this post in the input folder Save the addheader.bat, and header.bin files attached to this post to the output folder First, you need the audio file(s) you want to apply the effect to. In this tutorial we're going to be using a Sith voice file from the Korriban Acadamy, but this should work with any voice file (even ones you record yourself). Drag the .wav files from the streamwaves folder of KOTOR into the input folder (The files I'm using are in streamwaves/m35aa/sith13). The audio files that KOTOR uses are mp3 files with a wav header, so before we can do anything with them, we need to convert them to plain mp3 files. To do this, just double-click on convert.bat and let it run. When it finishes, you'll have .mp3 versions of each sound file. Now we're going to apply the Sith Trooper effect. We're going to automate some of it to make it easier, but sadly, we can't automate all of it. To automate it we will create a chain of effects which we can then easily apply to each file. Steps 1-6 creates the chain, and only need to be done once. Steps 7-12 need to be done for every audio file you wish to apply the effect to. 1. Open up one of the .mp3 files in Audacity, then go to File -> Chains -> Edit Chains: A new window will appear. In the bottom left click "add" then give the chain a title like "Sith Trooper Voice Effect". 2. Next click on Insert, and select "Repeat". Click "Edit Parameters" and change the number of repeats to 2: 3. Hit OK on both windows, and you should see it added to the chain. Next we're going to add Equalization. Select Insert again, then select Equalization, end edit Parameters. In the Select Curve dropdown, select AM Radio: Make sure the other settings are as in the screenshot, then hit OK. 4. Select Insert again, and select High Pass Filter. Edit Parameters and set frequency to 750Hz and rolloff to 48db: 5. Hit OK, hit Insert again, select Bass and Treble, and hit Edit Parameters. Set bass to 20, treble to 1, Volume to 0, and make sure "Link volume and tone" is unchecked: 6. Now, (this is the last effect!) hit OK, select Insert, select Compressor, and hit Edit Parameters. We'll use the defaults, but make sure they match the screenshot: Now, we've finished creating the chain, we need to apply it to the audio file. 7. Select File -> Chains -> Apply Chains, select the chain you just made, and select "Apply to Current Project": This will apply the effect, and cause the audio to be repeated three times. We do this because the Compressor effect can cause issues at the start and end of the audio, so we're just going to use the one in the middle that hasn't been affected. You may want to zoom out for the following steps. To do so, hold down Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel. By default the entire audio file is selected, so click in the blank space to deselect, before selecting sections to delete. 8. Mouse over the end of the audio, and you will see a yellow line to indicate that you're at the very tip: Now click and drag to the left until you see another yellow line, then let go (You will now have the third repeat selected): 9. Hit the delete key on your keyboard to remove the third repeat. Now we're going to do the same with the first repeat. Mouse over the beginning till you see the yellow line: Click and drag till you see the other yellow line: Let go of the mouse button and hit delete. You'll now have your finished audio file: Now we're going to export the file. We'll export it as MP3, and then add a WAV header just like the original files (I've seen reports that plain uncompressed WAV files will work, but I wasn't able to get it working, so I had to do it this way). 10. Select File -> Export -> Export as MP3: 11. Now set Bitrate to Preset, Quality to standard, variable speed to standard, and check "Force export to mono": 12. Save the file to the output folder. Then repeat steps 7-12 for every file you want to apply the effect to. 13. Once you have all of the files you want to add the effect to in the output folder, run the addheader.bat file. This will output .wav files that can be put into the game! You can either put them in the Override folder, or back into the streamwave folder you got them from! Let me know if you have any questions or comments! convert.bat addheader.bat header.bin
