You mean you didn't know? lol Seriously, though, I was just meaning the next release, whatever it was, because it would just happen that I finally decide to make the next version of PartySwap and then two days later there's a new RCM with changed files and back to work. It has happened before. After all, there's a reason I'm sure (I'm not asking why) for RCM and M4-78 to not be back up here yet...

Actually, progress has been halted until the release of TSLRCM 1.8.6. Sorry, I should have said something a lot sooner.

Oh, so the functions are there, they're just not called. That was the bit of info I was missing from our last communication on the script. Now it makes much more sense. Sorry there. That seems almost too easy. And crmod I'm guessing was meant to modify challenge rating, which is what actually assigns the amount of XP on death, as far as I'm aware. But all testing that I've done with it tells me it doesn't work. However, there are clearly more calculations involved in some of these steps. For example, with hit points I know that: rounddown(28*0.80) - 1 ≠ 630(base) or 1050(max), which are the values I see after opening up the save file GIT.

As I said, deciphering it is a pain, and Fair Strides and I sat down and went through a few hours of trial and error, and after all of it the only explanation I could come up with is that it doesn't follow the rules of the game. None of the values it puts out make any sense. It's the problem that started the idea for this mod.

I know I've stated before that the randomness in how enemies 'level' as a result of this script could potentially break the difficulty of the game, due to the fact that they only truly rely on certain stats. So if all those stats/modifiers are randomly zero, which is possible, then a fight that's supposed to be challenging could end up being way too easy for some, and an absolute nightmare for others. And it takes away some of the power of mod designers, something I'm not a huge fan of. But it's way better than trying to decipher the autobalance.2da (honestly, Obsidian, what were you thinking making this gibberish?!?)

Happy Birthday, KotOR! Here's a little something special to celebrate. Be warned, it's quite long:

Really, my voice isn't as deep as it sounds, that's mostly just proximity effect working in my favor.

Oh, where to begin? First of all, Happy 40th Birthday Star Wars. And what better way to celebrate than by finishing my current KotOR playthrough today. I've been recording this current playthrough(with obvious, redundant gaps and no movies), and all in all I have about 46 hours (256 GB) to sift through. Why? Because I'm actually going to be using my YouTube Channel for something that'll keep my post-production skills sharp: Reviews and Analysis videos. Now, there may be those of you asking "Why review a game that is so old like KotOR? Wouldn't it make sense to review newer games that are coming out?" I have two reasons for doing things this way. The first is because my laptop's hardware isn't up to par to run newer games that are coming out today. If you must know, here are my specs: Model: ASUS G46VW OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit CPU: Intel i5 3230M @ 2.6GHz HDD: 750GB 5400RPM SATA RAM: 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR3 1600MHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2GB Most modern games I barely meet the minimum required hardware in at least one of these fields. Some games (I'm looking at you, Witcher 3) would never be able to run on this laptop. The second reason is because I've found that there are in fact gamers who've never heard of many of the older titles that have helped define what a video game should be. I feel sad whenever I mention KotOR in an environment of people who have never played it, and I know I'm not the only one. And KotOR is just one example. With all that said, now to the reason why I've decided to do two different videos. I originally just wanted to do simple reviews. However, I believe that reviews should give away as little information as possible and yet still be informative enough to help a potential customer decide whether a work of fiction is for them or not. When it comes to games, there's usually a lot more to talk about regarding certain spoiler-ish topics, and I want to be able to share my thoughts as well. That's where the spoiler-filled in-depth analysis comes in. One other thing that needs mentioning: No, I will not be leaving modding behind, it just has to make room for this other new activity. I will make sure the community here knows when they can watch my review of KotOR. Until then... DarthTyren has spoken.

I never knew KotOR had so much content that I continually skipped over. 42 hours and I still have one more Star Map to get to.

Here's something I glossed over each of my playthroughs, return to the Rakata after you've finished the temple. ^^

Update: Progress has slowed down due to medical issues

I feel for you man, medical issues suck. So does job hunting, for that matter. Best wishes. -
[KOTOR II] Force Cage problem
DarthTyren replied to Ravao's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
That's actually a pretty poor processor, as well as integrated graphics? *shiver* Since it's a framerate issue, I can't see anything else being the problem. I forget off the top of my head if there are any settings for effects quality that you might turn down. -
I'm looking at purchasing a screen capture software. Anyone have any suggestions? I keep going back and forth between Bandicam and Fraps.
-
I like FRAPS. OBS Studio is good. For screenshots when there is no key for a game, or I need one out of games, I use Greenshot.
-
From what I've seen of OBS, it's better suited for Broadcasting, which isn't really what I'm looking for. And the only things FRAPS can do I've found Bandicam can do better, and NVIDIA Share beats all out for game capture.

[Request] PartySwap holorec.dlg without Coruscant scene Overlay?
DarthTyren replied to superSzym's topic in Mod Requests
No need to make your own TSLPatcher, if the video effect really bugs you all that much, you can just extract the holorec.dlg from 950COR.mod and tediously remove all of them yourself. The only thing I changed in that file is removed all the gender checks. -
Does anyone know how to shrink hitboxes on different characters? I'm trying to make two kids fight each other in a cutscene, but they're pretty far apart from each other.

Have you considered changing the camera angle? You could have it so that the camera could not see that they were not touching. I know there is a way to add a custom camera, I just don't know how.

Star Wars Battlefront II (Battlefront 2017 threads merged)
DarthTyren replied to N-DReW25's topic in Star Wars
What would be hilarious is if, for whatever reason, DICE crashes and burns before Battlefront 3 is released. Even better: leaked footage of the game it could have been. BONUS: Rinse & repeat. -
Well, in the time that I chose to use GMax, I've never tried to actually export anything, I just wanted to find my way around 3D enough to upgrade to 3DS. That said, I know for 3DS, for whatever reason, I have to launch in Admin mode in order to export (I constantly forget that I have this disabled by default), so you might try that? Also, where are you extracting to, because you may not have permissions for that folder, or it may be a 'hidden' or 'compatibility' file.
