  1. SEM - Super Enhanced Mod

Main Mod's Original Review on Filefront:

Also you will need the Ultimate Sound Mod for this to work properly. Make sure that is installed first before you install this mod and let the baseitems.2da file from this mod overwrite the one from the Ultimate Sound Mod. If you're not interested in that mod, you will still need to download it and get the cb_ls_powerup.wav, cb_ls_powerup1.wav, cb_ls_powerup2.wav, cb_ls_powerdown.wav, cb_ls_powerdown1.wav, and cb_ls_powerdown2.wav files. That way the double-bladed and short lightsabers make a on/off sound.

  2. Enhanced Merchants

    Original Review on Filefront:

Well now this is a site for sore eyes, Shem the manager of this wonderful site has submitted to me a great looking mod that he should be very proud of. So have any of you guys lately ever though that maybe kotor was getting a little boring? Well this one will fix that, what is does is it makes 90% of the stores in Kotor 1 better. What I mean by that is they will now give you more useful items for your journey. This mod was inspired by Shem's thought of people who have mastered this game, they know how to get butt loads of credits but they really have nothing to spend them on. So this is where this one comes in.

My personal opinion of this mod is it is great, the idea is really a winner. Making more useful merchants in the game allows for more poeple to actually have what they need when they get stuck between a Dark Jedi and a hard place. So all in all I say this is on of the most well crafted mods that I have seen in a while. So to you Shem great job I think you did a wonderful job! Now to all of the people I have to say download this mod if you want to have an overall better game...and as always...Enjoy!

  3. Zaalbar's Items

    Original Review on Filefront:

If you absolulty love Zaalbar, you will get these weapons. This is a nice little touch to give Zaalbar more of a kick.

    KillaJedi

    Info from the author:
These items are for Zaalbar, and only Zaalbar can use
them. We are familiar with his Bowcaster, as it can still
be upgraded and it's more powerful. Zaalbar now has his own
Wookiee Warblade and Implant. Zaalbar's Warblade is very
powerful and upgradeable, and his Implant regenerates his
health, plus it gives Zaalbar the master two-handed weapon
feat so that he doesn't get a penalty for using his Warblade.
These items can be found in the footlocker where you would
originally find Zaalbar's Bowcaster, which is near where you
    rescue Zaalbar.

  4. Jolee Turns Into a Yoda Species

    Original Review on Filefront:

Ever since Yoda's introduction in The Empire Strikes Back the tiny green muppet has inspired thousands. His appearances in the prequel films solidified his fan following which spawned various spin offs, such as Yaddle or, as are probably more familiar with, Master Vandar.

We were blessed to be given a Yoda-inspired model with Knights of the Old Republic, and your friendly neighborhood manager Shem was not about to give up an opportunity to expand this model's role within the game. This mod will change Jolee Bindo's appearance to that of Master Vandar, but with some modifications so it's not a direct copy of the pint-sized Jedi master. Only the appearance is changed, so you don't have to worry about losing Jolee's unique sense of humor and his wit.

Shem was kind in the way he designed this mod so that if you want to uninstall it at any point, you won't need to do any fancy 2da editing to get good ol' Jolee back. Just delete the UTC files and you're set! It also makes use of the TSL Patcher for easy installation. This mod includes a very nicely made custom icon, a new color scheme for the Yoda model, and some differently-colored robes. It's a fun mod, so if you don't mind Jolee looking a little green I'd definitely recommend giving it a try!

  6. Sherruk - Attacks With Lightsabers

    Original Review on Filefront:

Remember Sherruk? He was that Mandalorian on Dantooine with all the trophy sabers he bragged about. Yet when you had to fight him he used blasters/swords. I know "civilians" aren't trained to use lightsabers, but that never stopped anybody before! So why didn't Sherruk use those sabers, huh?! UGH!

If you reacted in the above manner when you first played KotOR then you're in luck. Shem brings us a lovely mod that, while simple in concept, adds a new dimension to that part of Dantooine. Sherruk will now attack you with those trophy sabers, just like a good arrogant fool would. Apaprently Shem also didn't think a lightsaber collector would be caught dead with only two lightsabers. Where Grievous had four, Sherruk shows his prowess by having a whopping seven on his mangled body when you're done with him! Check his body for some other surprises that have been included!

  7. Robes for Korriban Sith Students

    Original Review on Filefront:

Our benevolent overlord returns with an interesting addition to the planet Korriban. Remember the Sith Academy? Of course you do; it was in both games. Well, it's only in the first Knights of the Old Republic game that you get to become a student of the academy, and more importantly (at least for this mod), meet other students. Currently, all of the students of the academy wear those uniforms that Sith officers wear. It's a little odd, because they're not supposed to be just normal Sith officers, but Dark Jedi. Even the two masters of the academy, Uthar Wyn and Yuthura Ban, wear regular uniforms.

So Shem has decided to give all of the students Dark Jedi robes. It's a nice addition, I think, and it means you might get a few extra robes for your party, and a few other nice items. But I'll explain that later. In addition to having robes, some of the NPCs' appearances have been altered, to avoid repetition. Also, Master Uthar and his former master, Jorak Uln, each wear special armor.

Now, as if that wasn't enough, there are a few surprises here and there. But if you haven't played the game yet, you might want to stop reading.

The main objective for Korriban is to find the Star Map in the Tomb of Naga Sadow. To get to that tomb, you have to gain enough prestige to be chosen to take the final trials. As I alluded to above, you'll be able to take some those Dark Jedi robes from for yourself; that's because you'll have the opportunity to terminate hostilities with some of your competition before you enter the tomb, and again afterwards.

There are several different endings for Korriban, depending on your choices in the Tomb of Naga Sadow. For best results (i.e. to get the most items) you should kill both Uthar and Yuthura. This will throw the Sith academy into a rebellion, and all of the students and teachers will become hostile. This is both a light side and dark side option, so you don't have to worry about that. But if you want some extra LS points, befriending Yuthura and helping her kill Uthar, then bringing her back to the light will get the same results, though you won't get any of Yuthura's items.

OK, you can keep reading now if you stopped before.

This mod utilizes the TSL patcher to make the necessary appearance.2da changes, and there is an extra file included that will make the mod compatible with T7nowehere's Weapons of the Old Republic, for those of you who have that mod. The mod is also compatible with Prime's Jedi Model mod, so no worries if you have that as well. Enjoy the new Sith academy!

  8. Helena - Bastila's Mother Changes

    Original Review on Filefront:

Here we have a mod idea that no-one has done before. Have you ever wondered why Bastilla's mother was wearing a Jedi Robe instead of common peoples clothing, I mean considering she's in a place like a tatooine bar you'd think she'd be wearing common clothing. The second part to this mod also changers the messenger Malare's clothing to more common ones as well. To be honest that part didn't really phase me when I saw her in a dancers outfit, maybe because I'm not so picky Very simple mod that corrects mistakes in the game, and also very well done.

  9. Invisible Headgear

    Original Review on Filefront:

Star Wars if you look through all of the movies, games, fan media, ect. always had one thing in common, masks, and not your normal run of the mill costume masks that you could by at your local convenient store. They have these great elaborate masks that give them special abilities or give them some extra bounus that they need to do what they are doing. The only thing that is bad about those masks is that they are UUUUUUUUUUGLY (excluding a few choice ones of course.) Now you ask "SithRevan what can we do about these ugly masks that make our characters look stupid?".

Well my friends I have the solution. Actually Shem our Site Manager and all around cool guy has come up with the solution... I am just reviewing it.

Anyway though I am proud to announce that the solution to making the ugly masks go away is to simply make them invisible and that is exactly what Shem did. What this mod does is makes all of the default masks in the game completely invisible so that you can get the bonuses with out having to make a fashion statement in the process.

So I say awesome work Shem. I am glad to see you have a couple cool mods left in ya. Now to all of the other out there waiting to get you greedy little hands on this treasure... Enjoy.

  11. Revan's Robes

For the mod linked below, go HERE for the info.

    Original Review on Filefront:

There have been many Revan's Robes mods over the years, but this is the first one to grace FileFront. Each mod that gives the player Revan's robes is slightly different, usually in the placement of the robes within the game. Generally I tended to believe there was a reason they were stashed on the Star Forge in the first place, although the whole backstory of the Star Forge actually making the robes never made sense to me since Revan was clearly wearing them in the Dantooine vision with Malak before he ever found the Star Forge. Oh well!

Anyway, my point was there is a reason you shouldn't have the robes right at the beginning of the game, which this mod does. It gives you the robes right at the beginning, on the Endar Spire, before you're ever able to set foot out of that first room. There's a good side to this and a bad side. Good side: You have Revan's robes! Yay! Bad side: You can't use them yet, and you won't be able to for quite some time (unless of course you cheat). As always, they are limited to dark side only, meaning of course you must be a Jedi, and then manage to get yourself over to the dark side of the Force. That takes a bit of time -- you at least have to wait until Dantooine. Personally I would have found it more believable to have the robes stashed away on Dantooine. It doesn't seem to me like the Jedi council would have just given you Revan's robes.

But regardless of the details, this mod does exactly as it promises -- it gives you Darth Revan's robes, both the robes and the mask, in case you want to see your pretty little face in that hood. It does exactly what it's meant to do, and that's the most important point. Give it a download now if by some chance you don't yet have a Revan's robes mod and you want to run around the galaxy pretending to be the Dark Lord.

((Psst, don't include any spoilers in the comments, please. Believe or not, not everyone in the galaxy has played through the entire game yet! Thanks!))

February 24, 2007: Go HERE to get Kristy Kistic's fixed Darth Revan model to use with this mod.

Then with the male unmasked model files, make three copies of each N_DarthRevanM.mdl and N_DarthRevanM.mdx files. Name one copy pmbjl.mdl, pmbjl.mdx, the next one pmbjm.mdl, pmbjm.mdx, and the last one pmbjs.mdl, pmbjs.mdx.

For the female ones, either pick out the original look or the more feminine look. The file names are N_DarthRevanF.mdl and N_DarthRevanF.mdx and make three copies of each. Name one copy pfbjl.mdl, pfbjl.mdx, the next one pfbjm.mdl, pfbjm.mdx, and the last one pfbjs.mdl, pfbjs.mdx. Then put them in the override folder. Make sure when you rename them that you don't rename the extensions (the .mdl and .mdx).

With the masked version, just dump Kristy's version in the override folder. No renaming is needed.

  12. Prequel-Style Robes

    Original Review on Filefront:

Well everybody the wait is officially OVER I just got this mod from Shem and I have to say I think you all will be really excited about it. These robes are the robes Shem uses in most of his pictures for PotD's of Kotor. These robes are all made to Custom specifiations of all of your party members, or at least the ones that are Jedi anyway. Here is a little quote from Shem's readme on how these robes are made for specific players...

Now as you can see from the quote Shem put a lot of effort into these robes but not all of the effort was his. Prime made the base of the robes that are being used here. Shem also has made all of the PC's robes race related, which means that if you are playing as an African American PC the body texture will show the skin on the body as the color of the PC's head. These robes will also replace all of the original bioware robes to give you a good looking aresenal of cool robes. As a bonus Shem has also added a couple of really cool things to the game, but you are going to have to work to get them as they are being sold at Crattis Yurkal's shop on dantooine. If you don't know where that is just refer to the readme. So all I have to say is nice job Shem on the mod, it is always good to see one of my fellow modders make an awesome mod. Also Shem and I want to give personal thanks to the creator of the base of mod Prime for allowing Shem to add on such an awesome mod. I hope everybody loves this mod as much as I think you guys will, enjoy!

Check out Prime's website for more of his awesome mods.

  13. Carth's Republic Uniform Plus

    Original Review on Filefront:

Our glorious leader Shem returns, with a mod that--as usual--you'll all enjoy. I know this because so many of you have already requested that he release this mod, after seeing it in some of his YouTube videos. Yes, Shem has finally released Carth's Republic Uniform--and then some.

As you can tell from the screenshot, Carth will now wear the Republic soldier variant armor during his brief appearance on the Endar Spire. He will also be wearing this armor when you first wake up on Taris. Carth is a Republic soldier, so it's only natural that he wear the armor of one. However, he wouldn't make it ten feet out of the apartment parading around in that thing without being captured by Sith. So as soon as Carth leaves the apartment, you should switch to his classic Orange Jacket of Doom so the Sith won't know who he is. I guess it's supposed to be a flight suit, seeing as Carth's a pilot.

In any case, once Carth joins the party, he will have two sets of armor in his inventory: first, as I said before, the flight jacket, and second, his set of Republic armor that he was wearing earlier. They have identical properties, so you're free to pick which one you think is appropriate. Personally, I think it makes more sense for Carth to wear his jacket, for reasons already mentioned. Anyway, as I said, they have identical properties, properties good enough that you'll want Carth to wear them. While the defense bonus for each set of armor is moderate, they give a whopping +5 to Carth's regeneration rate. And they can only be worn by Carth of course; how Shem managed to do this may be of interest to some of you modders out there. Carth also comes with a few extra items, some credits, medpacks, an extra blaster, and such, but it will be more fun for you to be surprised.

The mod uses the TSL patcher, of course; however, the Republic armor uses the J slot in appearance.2da, so it won't be compatible with mods that allow Carth to wear Revan's robes. Well, it should be compatible, but Carth won't be able to wear the armor after you install this mod. And you'll need WinRAR/7zip to extract the files. Enjoy!

  14. Ultimate Sound Mod

    Original Review on Filefront:

The ear is impressively good at distinguishing the most minute of differences between sounds, however without a context or direct comparison it can do an amazingly poor job at just that. This is why judging a sound mod just from listening to the sounds won't give you a clear picture of how good (or bad) the mod really is. From listening to the sound files from this mod out of game, they didn't sound all that impressive. However from experience I know these findings are generally inaccurate. Testing this mod in-game proved just that.

Just from the saber ignite sounds I knew this was going to be a very popular sound mod. Try it out and you'll see what I mean. Shem has taken some of the sound effects from the recent (as well as older) films and put them into KotOR and KotOR2. This not only adds a wider variety of sound variation, since the styles between the two trilogies are actually quite distinct, but it also simply improves the sounds, making them all the more impressive. Of course not only the saber ignition sounds have been changed. All the saber sounds, basically, have been enhanced, as well as several of the blaster sounds, using familiar sounds such as those from Han Solo's DL-44 pistol. Several Force sounds have also been changed, and luckily changing the Force saber throw sound to something that actually sounds like a saber has been a key change!

This is definitely a mod to look into if you're either disappointed with KotOR or KotOR2's original sounds, or if you just enjoy hearing new sound variations added to the game. I'd certainly recommend it.

Note: If I didn't make it clear in the review, this mod is compatible with both KotOR1 and KotOR2, so you can use it with either. Simply make sure to read the read-me before installing.

  15. Increased Skills and Attributes

    Original Review on Filefront:

If you're looking for a mod to give you a foot up on your game, check this one out. It is designed to help you start off stronger and become stronger at each level. How, you might ask? It will start your character off at 18 for each skill, and 4 for each attribute. This'll make your player character a little more self-sufficient at the beginning of the game! In order to take advantage of these starting stats you must either click "recommended" for skills and attributes when creating your character, or alternatively you can just use quick character creation and they will already be set.

This mod also has a secondary function. It will also change skill bonuses to only cost one skill point, regardless of what it is. This is helpful if you're thinking twice about spending those precious skill points on a skill that costs more than one, because that's no longer an issue! This mod should be especially helpful for new players just getting into the game, or veteran players who just want a relaxed game with a bit less hassle. Keep it up Shem!

  16. Force Power Gain

    Original Review on Filefront:

Here we have a mod by our newest staff member JediShemL. This mod changes the way each Jedi Class gains their Force Powers per level. Every now and then your jedi will get two powers, then next level he will get one. It is pretty much random the way he has set it up. As for balance, I would have to say this mod is as balanced as it could be. The noticable difference that this mod has to other feat/force power gain mods is that it changes the rate at which your specific class gains powers.

  17. Feat Progression

Update: Sorry for those that downloaded this prior to 4/2/2016. The issue with the installer was thought to have been fixed and in reality fell through the cracks to be completely forgotten...

    Original Review on Filefront:

KotOR I is indeed a great game as it allows you to customize your characters with new armor, abilities, and powers not to mention it's great storyline. You can definitely tell that this game cheats you a little bit on feats and powers though because it only will give you 1-2 of them each time you level up. I think, and obviously Shem thought, that is a little less then you should actually be getting. So anyway that is why I am happy to announce this mod that will take care of that pesky little factor.

You know Shem... he makes some of the coolest mods, in my opinion some of the best. So you all know that this one will be no different. What this mod does is sort of unique. You have seen it done with force powers but this differs a bit. This mod actually changes the amount of feats that you get during a regular level up period. This will give you more of an advantage to actually get all of the feats in the game before you cannot level up anymore.

Well I really have to hand it to you Shem this definitely looks awesome. I personally will have a space in my override waiting for it after this review. Now to all of you itching to get you hands on this little trinket... Enjoy.

  18. Realistic Visual Effects

    Original Review on FIlefront:

Ever get annoyed by some of the visual effects in Knights of the Old Republic? I know I have. Also, for some reason I'm talking like Andy Rooney. Anyway, I guess there's some unwritten rule in LucasArt's development bible that says there have to be shiny special effects even if they don't make sense. Take the Force Protection green bubble from the Jedi Knight games, or the glowing purple hands of the flurry animation in KotOR. Just about every Star Wars game--the ones that have Force powers, at least--are riddled with these weird special effects that make no sense in real life. They don't even make sense in the Star Wars universe, and they're not even consistent from one game to the next! So, our glorious leader Shem decided to fix all that.

Shem has gone through the visualeffects.2da file and has eliminated just about every visual oddity. There are so many that I can't even list them all, and it's probably better that you test the mod out and see for yourself. But I'll go over the basics:

*No more crazy glowing hands with any of the melee special attacks (Critical Strike, Flurry, Power Attack).
*No more weird white circles surrounding your player when you use Force Cure/Heal.
*No more blurry vision with Force Speed.
*And lots more Force visuals have been removed.

So, if you're looking for a more realistic visual experience, one that is closer to the movies, than this is the mod for you. Also, for those of you making fan films with the games, this come in handy. Oh, and this version is for the first Knights of the Old Republic game; the KotOR II version will be up shortly. Enjoy!

Since this is a major .2da edit, Shem has used the TSL patcher to ensure that it will be compatible with other mods. You will, however, need WinRAR or 7Zip to extract the files.

NOTE: Please leave comments/feedback for the author, especially if you download and use this mod; usually it's the only reward modders receive for their efforts.

  19. Jedi Fix

This is a little fix that keeps the style of jedi robes consistent throughout the game.
For example when your inside the enclave the jedi are wearing the style of robe you wear
and then when you go to the court yard the jedi were wearing a completely different robe
model. So now every jedi in the game will be wearing the model you wear.

    Installation
    Drop files in override.

    Uninstallation
    Remove files from override.

Thanks to every one that downloads this mod; I love you all.

You can use this mod with any of your mods but just give me some credit for what it's worth.

Compatibility: This mod is compatible with any robe mod you just need to change the file names of the robes tga, mdx, and mdl files to the ones in this mod and they will show up in game. (I can make a video per request by a user to show you how to make the change, if anybody needs a visual representation.)

    Inyri's Birthday Surprise!

This is my birthday present to you!

This mod is a surprise. If you're downloading it and installing it, for some reason you trust me when I say it's worth downloading and installing. In reality, this mod has no practical purpose. You are installing it for no reason. Except your curiosity. Which is a good reason, in my opinion. Anyway, go ahead and follow the installation instructions. And don't look at the files. No seriously, don't. Just spawn your item and talk to Carth. Trust me! Oh, but you probably will want to do it in a large area. When you're not being shot at.

    To use this mod:
Either with the console or with the KotOR Save Game Editor (KSE) give yourself the item that comes with this mod (giveitem inyri_gift). Once you have my birthday gift you can talk to Carth.

    V1.0:
"I am proud to present the greatest recruitment mod to ever be made for the 2003 game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic. This mod is a year and half in the making and its finally here just in time for Christmas. So Merry Christmas everybody! Inyri Forges mod gets my vote as the best mod to ever be released in the year 2007. If there was a voting poll available, I would cast my ballot for this mod.
Im betting a lot of people that have been waiting patiently are excited that its finally here and probably arent taking the time to read the review because they already have decided they want this mod after seeing a teaser trailer or two and are hitting the download button as soon as they click the link to the mod; of course that means there are others who still arent in on this recruitment mod and wonder why Im calling it the best recruitment mod to ever be made and want to know if its worth downloading a 19.8 megabyte file. If you want to know why that is, just keep reading on and youll find out why its the best. Im going to *WARN* you that spoilers will be mentioned in this review so if you havent had the chance to play Knights of the Old Republic all the way through and dont want to be spoiled, then stop reading now or suffer the consequences!

Inyri Forge created a female character named Kay. She is a Jedi Sentinel that you find on the planet of Tatooine on a mission to investigate Czerka Corporation or at least that is what she will tell you. Remember the trio of Dark Jedi that confront you on Tatooine telling you that Lord Malak was most displeased that your PC left Taris alive? Right after that event you will see a female Jedi walking towards you with a golden lightsaber hilt (made by the author too) that will emit a yellow blade when activated. You will also notice her brown hair, blue eyes, and a red Jedi robe (assuming there isnt a mod changing its look in your override folder) as shown in the screenshot. Go and talk to her so shell join your party in your quest to find the Star Forge.

There are many reasons why this character is special. She has audio dialogue which is provided by Inyri Forge herself. All the other recruitment mods have mute dialogue, so this part alone sets this recruitment mod leaps and bounds above any other recruitment mod out there. You can also have conversations with her as you level up and eventually you will trigger a side quest that starts on Tatooine. You will have to talk to Kay at least five times before her side quest starts. So talk to her as soon as she joins you and wait till you have to level up to talk to her again and do that five times and her quest will be ready to start. When the quest is ready to start, go back to Dantooine and talk to the Jedi near the Ebon Hawk. After you start the quest, youll have to go back to the Dantooine where the Mandalorian there will finally talk to you and eventually have to go to Manaan to get something, and back to Dantooine to return an item to complete the quest to the female Twilek Jedi in the training room. It is best to play your game when leaving Dantooine by going to Tatooine, then Kashyyyk, then Manaan, and Korriban last while finding the Star Maps in order to have time to complete Kays quest and pretty much get the most out of this mod because if you need to do it before you get captured by the Leviathan.

There are three other new characters with recorded audio just like Kay. One of the new voiced characters is a Jedi on Dantooine which you will see as you get off the Ebon Hawk. You cant miss him. The other two are Mandalorians. One of the Mandalorians is on Tatooine and the other is on Manaan. The Mandalorian on Tatooine can be found near the exit out of Anchorhead on the far left side. Hell be wearing the blue Mandalorian colored armor. The Mandalorian on Manaan that you will speak to wears red colored Mandalorian armor and can be found at the end of the module which is near where the Sith Shuttle is that can get you into the Sith Base.

For those who are familiar with how the game engine on Knights of the Old Republic works, you will know that if you add a recruit to your party, you will have to replace another party member. In the case of this recruitment mod the ousted party member is Juhani. Because Juhani is out and you never had the heart to kill her in your duel with her on Dantooine, or you wanted extra Jedi help from your party; now is the time to do it since shes not going to be in your group. Well, thats not entirely true since she will join your group still if you spare her and help will your PC out until you recruit Kay on Tatooine and that is when Kay will override Juhani and shell be out for the rest of the game.

Theres a specific reason why Juhani was chosen to be replaced. There are two party members you can complete the game with that arent necessary for the storyline and that is Juhani and HK-47. These two are optional party members while the rest of them will join you no matter what. Its easy to pick Juhani because she is the less popular of the two party members and youre replacing one female Jedi with another. It was also the easiest way to go for the author to do so that is why she was chosen.

Since it is Juhani that is replaced, the author did a lot of work in replacing situations where Juhani would chime in on certain events and has Kay speak instead. I believe this was the most time consuming part of constructing this mod. This adds a dimension that recruitment mods have never had before because recruitment mods in the past would have the party member you replace speak their dialogue instead of the new recruit and you get audio from Kay to make her seem alive which makes this really special.

Again since Juhani is replaced, Kay will go with Revan into the Rakatan Temple with Jolee. This means there is that confrontation on top of the temple with Bastila and Kay will have a role in it. Revans choice to stay on the light path or go to the dark side will have an effect on Kays fate. Kay also has a reaction to your PC being Revan so play with this mod to find out what she thinks of the whole thing.

I feel I should give you all a word of warning about this mod that you should know. Just because Kay is recruited on Tatooine doesnt mean its best to find a saved game where you havent been to Tatooine yet. Yes, you can recruit her that way, but you will not be able to complete the side quest that comes with her character because two new Jedi need to spawn on Dantooine and in order for those Jedi to show up, you must have a saved game where you never have been on Dantooine before. This would mean you must have a saved game that is on Taris in order for you get the full effect of this mod. As mentioned earlier that one of the Jedi you can find on Dantooine can be seen as you exit the Ebon Hawk who is a voiced character. There is a female Twilek Jedi in the training room where the workbench is that uses the Huttese language that is provided by the BioWare.

So lets do a short review about what you will get just in case I lost you:

    - A new recruit who has audio dialogue
    - She is an in depth character
    - She has a side quest that spans three planets
    - She has her own custom head
    - She has her own custom lightsaber hilt

To prevent crying among the community, the author uses the TSL Patcher to install the mod. So just sit back and let the Patcher do its job and get ready to play your game. Enjoy this wonderful recruitment mod.

Here is the trailer to this mod in case that helps instead of reading through my lengthy review.

    V1.1:
"Recruitable Kay has been an instant success since it made its public debut on Christmas Eve 2007. The download counts keep climbing higher and higher at an incredible rate as each day passes. As like most large mods that have been released in the past, there are some bugs that come with it. To me its not about the amount of bugs your mod gets in a situation like this; its how the author of the mod responds to it. Inyri Forge is one of those people who care enough about her work and your enjoyment that she will fix anything that needs to be fixing. Some authors choose not to care about it, so props to Inyri for her diligence.
The biggest issue with this recruitment mod is that amount of dialogue files that will use Juhanis audio; a game like Knights of the Old Republic has so many dialogue choices that it depends on someones playing style to encounter certain situations that other people wouldnt think of. This mod mostly will patch up areas of where Juhanis audio will speak instead of Kay.

There are other little fixes included in this mod as some of the broken dialogue files have been fixed that have stopped some of the plot quests to be completed. Inyri has also recorded new audio for Kay to add or help replace some of the dialogue replacements for Juhani.

The TSL Patcher will install this patch. Make sure you go over Inyris readme file or youll regret it. Ive noticed that many people didnt heed my warning from my last review and were complaining about things that wouldnt have been an issue if they had just took the time to read the instructions. Lets see who is patient and who isnt. Enjoy the patch!

    V1.1a:
"Its been a while since Inyri Forges Recruitable Kay hit the public, hasnt it? That mod made it to the public on Christmas Eve last year and was a very successful mod. Unfortunately like every huge mod ever made in the history of Knights of the Old Republic modding, there were bugs that needed to be addressed that werent taken care of in the original release.
Inyri even released a patch on January 29, of this year that addressed many different issues. This is what shes calling a Hot Fix in this release. It just fixes two bugs. One was the new female Twilek Jedi that was spawned on Dantooine and the other is with the female Czerka officer on Tatooine that gives you the hunting license so you can leave the city of Anchorhead; both of the fixes are dialogue files.

What specific parts these fixes do is beyond me since Inyri didnt explain specifically what is fixed about the two new files and right now I dont have the mod installed so I have no clue what the trouble was there. If you were experience trouble with those two parts, then download this fix; if not, then dont worry about it.

    Sound Patch:
"For the second time (or third depending on how you look at it) this week, Inyri Forge is back with a new mod. This one is actually a little bit of an update to her massively popular Recruitable Kay mod, which she released in 2007.
While this update doesn't add any new content to the mod, it does update the voice overs, using higher quality mp3's than the originals. This increased quality should be a very welcome to anyone who has already played the mod, pretty much giving them an excuse to play it again.

When installing this mod, you should let it overwrite ALL the mp3 files and use the NEW localization.mod file, else the lipsynching won't match up to the VO's, which will look a bit strange.

To use this file, you will also need the original mod, the patch and the hotfix, which can be found at the links below:

    Original Review on Filefront:

"Tis the season as I always right before Christmas, this Christmas is special though it is more Christmasy somehow... Oh I know why because the Kotor 1 Characters are wearing Santa Hats! Thats right everybody our resident Network Admin Inyri Forge has made the first ever Santa Hat for Kotor and I must say she did an awesome job. I am personally in LOVE with Christmas and everything about it so this mod is definatly on my "Nice" list this year. Anyway though I think this is a totally awesome job and something that I would definatly recommend everybody to download.

  24. M-98 Widow Replacement

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Inyri's run of Mass Effect 2 weapon replicas for the KotOR games continues with a duplicate of the M-98 Widow weapon. The model replaces that of the "Sith Snipe Rifle" in the game, which can be bought from Kebla Yurt, in the Upper City, on Taris. The mod is a straightforward model replacement, and as such should be compatible with most mods, with the exception of those that affect the "Sith sniper rifle" weapon model.

The mod is produced with Inyri's usual, high level of polish and execution, with both model an texture of exemplary quality. As can be seen in the screenshots, this mod replicates the appearence of the original weapon with a high degree of accuracy. The ease of acquiring the weapon in the game is similarly welcome. In all, this is a masterclass in mod-making, as well as a remarkably fine piece of modelling and texturing. Ultimately, whether or not to download is a matter of taste, but it's hard to deny that this weapon looks fantastic.

    Mod Rating: Advanced

NB: Please leave constructive criticism, particularly if you download and use this mod, as the download-counter isn't very informative.

    Installation Instructions:
Copy the contents of the archive to your SWKOTOR Override directory.

    Included files:
    -widow-if.tga
    -window-if.txi
    -iw_blstrrfl_002.tga
    -w_blstrrfl_002.mdl
    -w_blstrrfl_002.mdx
    -This Read-me file

    Uninstall Instructions:
Remove the above named files from your override folder.

    Description:
This model is a replica of the m-98 Widow sniper rifle as seen in the game Mass Effect 2 (this is the sniper rifle that Legion upgrades to, although an infiltrator Shepard can use it as well). This is simply a blaster rifle replacement, so all of the weapons that use the w_blstrrfl_002 model will now show up as this gun, leaving it compatible with other custom blaster mods... except other replacement mods, naturally. It is specifically designed to overwrite the Sith Sniper Rifle (g_w_blstrrfl002.uti) which I felt was particularly appropriate.

  25. Tatooine Spice Dealer

Uploaded by permission of the author.

    Original KotORFiles review:
"Aren't drug mods popular of late. This time InyriForge makes her first KotOR debut in a while by turning Tatooine's worst pazaak player into a dealer of them. Gotta give him Kudos for finding another way to make credits. (Oh look, I made a pun )

The drug/spice effects are amusingly realistic (reminds me of how anorexia was included in Dungeons & Dragons). After taking them your PC will have his/her high and receive a bonus to their stats according to the drug, but not without a price. After that high s/he'll crash and burn in the form of taking those bonuses as penalties for a short while, so be sure not to snort any of these drugs before every fight.

Since this mod uses the TSLPatcher, remember to run the installer instead of putting the files into override. Enjoy!

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

    - Emperor Devon"

    Installation Instructions:
Run Install.exe from the Spice_IF folder (you can copy this folder anywhere on your hard drive). If you have a clean override folder and do not want to mess with the installer, just copy all contents of the tslpatchdata folder into your override folder. Using the installer is only necessary if you have an existing spells.2da file which needs to be patched. Please do not patch this file by hand! If you patch spells.2da by hand and do not update the UTI files, the mod will not work!

    Description:
Spice has always been an integral part of the criminal society of the galaxy. Where would the big-name criminals be now if they hadn't dabbled in a little spice trade to get them started? Well, Kudos, our friendly neighborhood Tatooine pazaak player is also aiming for the big leagues. If you dare to ask him, he'll dare to sell you a bit of spice... for a nominal fee. The better the spice, the more expensive it is! And remember, if a bargain seems too good to be true... it probably is.
    Spice Information:
Drugs are not free, nor are they good for you. They provide a temporary high... but in the end, they'll do you more harm than good. This mod includes 17 varieties of spice, each with varying prices based on their stat benefits. Each lasts from 3 to 5 minutes, but eventually results in a 20 to 40 second 'downer' where your stat benefits are transformed into penalties.

    Dealer Location:
Tatooine, as they always say, is a hive of scum and villainy. If you didn't expect to find spice here, you must not be a Star Wars fan! A spice dealer in the cantina would be quite the cliche, so our resident Tatooine spice dealer is located in the hunter's club. Remember Kudos, the Rodian pazaak player? Being so bad at the game, he has to do something to keep the credits coming in...

    Bugs:
Occasionally the downers seem not to take effect. Consider this a gift from God if it happens. You can also not stack two of the same kind of spice on top of each other. You can stack two different spices, however.

    Comments:
Don't get addicted. Spices are bad for you, mmkay? And be careful when you take the spice... I'd hate to think you got slaughtered in battle because you hit your downer just when you were most vulnerable!
