2 pointsNot an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but in my experience (and based on what several others have reported), the Steam version has many issues like this with graphical mods. In fact, mods that modify lightsaber models and textures do not work, and using the Holowan Duplisaber Beta will crash your game in some modules. Not only that, but the Steam version is generally unstable and plagued with performance bugs anyway, but using large mod-builds, even at it's most stable, causes constant loading and crashing errors, often seemingly out of nowhere. It also becomes more unstable the longer you play it. My most recent build, while fully functional up until an issue rose up with the Dustil Restoration and M4-78 that made Dustil never appear and then removed the dialog option with T3 that unlocks M4-78, the game would crash so often and with so little reason or warning that I started saving after almost every encounter and interaction, as well as restarting the game at least every hour. Even with only RCM installed, Steam has a funny habit of going for anywhere between 2-4 hours of gameplay before it skips over all voice lines in a dialog, and sometimes crashes. The Steam version is absolutely inferior, and I would recommend sticking with GoG, or even going to a Disk version (if you have one, can find one, or even use one). I recently purchased the GoG version, and I'm going to be switching over to it now after this latest experience. It simply is not worth the aneurysms it's bound to strat causing me if I continue to try and mess with it. The Steam version is responsible for having made it impossible for me to finish the game or even reach the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave scene for years, and this is my all-time favorite game. In the words of Darth Sion: I am glad to leave this place... at last.

1 pointCopying the outline of Stoney's old list of content outlined in his "What's Restored In TSLRCM" thread on DeadlyStream: [R] - Restored [PR] - Partially Restored [RM] - Restored but Moved to another area [NR] - Not Restored [O] - Optimized (As-in, not really a restoration, but an alteration to make sense or keep with the game's text...) [iF] - Inconsistency Fix (As-in, not really a restoration, but a alteration to keep the game consistent with itself...) General [R] - Impossible Difficulty [R] - You can now ask Juhani why she is so hostile towards Canderous. [R] - Juhani will now speak of the evils of Korriban. [R] - You can now ask Juhani about the planets you are on. [R] - Juhani now properly shows up for the Post-Leviathan cutscene. [R] - Restored .BIK movies [NR] - Sleheyron (Basically like M4-78... Most of the content would be fan-made) [NR] - Tatooine Temple (Too much work to restore and no content to put there) [NR] - Carth's warning about the Katarn. (No Carth VOs) [NR] - Sand People Messiah (No HK VOs) Endar Spire [R/O] - Trask had an incomplete/broken soundset. Taris [R] - Carth's initial dialogue when you're tossing and turning in your bed. [R] - Bribing Sarna or Yun Genda if you're a girl or guy, respectively. You have to pay them to get to the party with them to acquire a suit of Sith Armor. [O] - Sith Guard at the Elevator checks that everyone in the party is wearing a set of Sith Armor [R] - A cut out PC response to Niklos. [R] - A serving droid in the Taris Upper City Cantina. [R] - You can now speak to the Duel Announcer outside of the arena. [R] - Lower City citizens and Hidden Beks wandering the streets, similar to the Vulkars already present. [R] - Able to access the Swoop Platform separately from The Race. [R] - Gadon takes both Sith Armors instead of just one. [R] - Glow Rod in Taris Sewers [R] - Cut Vulkar Base Sublevel - This is an in-between section for the Vulkar Base, where the first level could be called "A", this restored level "B", and the Vulkar Garage "C". [R] - Various Droid Items including the infamous Oil Slick. [NR] - Buying a Sith Base Passcard off of Yun Genda or Sarna - This would allow one to completely skip T3, who is considered integral to the plot/canon. [NR] - Able to buy T3 without Canderous's Permission - Again, for plot purposes, as this would also allow one to enter the base incredibly early... Dantooine [R] - Crattis Yukal offering/demanding to buy crystals you harvest from the Crystal Caves. [R] - Shuma the Hutt can now be talked to on Dantooine. [R] - An arguing master and apprentice can now be found on Dantooine (Garrum and Tar'leek). [R] - Items have been restored to the Jedi Enclave Footlockers. [R] - Carth commenting about the Kath Hounds before you enter the plains. [R] - Republic Security telling the PC to be careful of Kath Hounds on the plains. [R] - Iriaz now roam the plains and are the prey of the Kath Hounds. [R] - Bastila now comments on the crystals in the cave. [R] - Carth now comments on the droids in the Sandral Estate. [R] - Able to make an indecent proposal to Rahasia or Shen, depending on gender. [R] - Sharina Fizzark now appears on Dantooine depending on your choices. [iF] - References to Sleheyron have now been removed from the Star Map room as you cannot go to Sleheyron. [iF] - Juhani now starts out with her default outfit instead of Jedi robes. Tatooine [R] - Wandering bands of Jawas in the Dune Sea [R] - Bastila has extra dialog about her mother. [R] - A second guy helping guard the gates to the Dune Sea. [NR] - Cut Tatooine Temple - Not enough content [NR] - Fight with the Krayt Dragon - Lack of/weird animations. FS Note: I will at the very least look into the model and the difficulties with realistically animating it... [NR] - Sand People Messiah/Free Tatooine of Czerka - Not restored due to lack of HK-47 VO that would be needed. [iF] - You can no longer ask Niko where to buy swoop upgrades as you cannot upgrade your swoop. [iF] - The dialog of the droid merchant on Tatooine has been altered to make it clear he does not sell swoop upgrades. Kashyyyk [NR] - Carth's Warning before heading into the Shadowlands - No VO to support the line... [R] - Fighting alongside Jolee [R] - Alternate line for Jolee when asking him to bring down the force field. [R] - Rulan Prolik shape-shifting into your party members [R] - Rough-Cut Wookie Amulet added back into the game as a reward from the Wookie Hunter. [iF] - Jolee now starts out with his default outfit instead of Jedi robes. Manaan [R] - Duan\Viglo getting drunk - This allows you to get a Sith Base Passcard to enter the Sith Base through the front door... [R] - Deadeye Duncan now appears on Manaan. [R] - The Echani Mercenary. [R] - There is now a busy waitress in the same module as Duan/Viglo. [O] - A video-playback of the Republic's hidden camera on Sunry's meeting with Elassa. [R] - Taking certain party members with you under the Sea Floor. [R] - Pazaak Tournament on Manaan - Talk to the Swoop Organizer [iF] - The dialog of the junk merchant on Manaan has been altered to make it clear he does not sell swoop upgrades. Leviathan [R] - Major Hurka - An injured officer who might help you get to Admiral Karath... [R] - The Dead Body of Crattis Yurkal can now be found on the Leviathan. Korriban [R] - Lots of bartender dialogue [NR] - Party in Naga Sadow's Tomb [NR] - Bastila on Korriban [iF] - Yuthura and Uthar's clothing is now consistent throughout Korriban. Unknown World [R] - Rancor Grenades to help clear out the area [R] - Wraids and Wraid Handler in the Temple. [R] - Injured Sith Apprentice [R] - Cold Serum and "Cold atmosphere" in the Catacombs. A KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC MODIFICATION Crossguard Lightsabers 2.0 By Sithspecter Description: You've probably seen The Force Awakens at this point, and Kylo Ren's unique lightsaber as well. The saber features crossguard blades that serve a defensive purpose as well as venting extra heat. Now, you can play through Knights of the Old Republic wielding crossguard lightsabers as your own! This mod adds crossguard lightsabers complete with animations to Knights of the Old Republic. Each of the regular crossguard lightsabers is completely upgradeable. You also have the choice to install crossguard lightsabers with the default blade textures OR crossguard lightsabers with an animated jagged blade texture. Installation: 1. Copy all the files in the Override folder of this .zip into your Knights of the Old Republic Override folder 2. If you would rather have default blade textures, also copy the files from the Default Blades folder of this .zip into your Override folder 3. If you want to go back to animated blade textures, copy the files from the Animated Blades folder of this .zip into your Override folder Use: Due to the unique way that Knights of the Old Republic handles lightsabers, to make the lightsabers upgradeable this mod adds an emitter item which can be bonded with any of the default lightsaber color crystals in the game. Once you have an emitter and a lightsaber color crystal, talk to T3-M4 who can bond them together to give you the new crystal bonded to the emitter. Simply install the new bonded crystal in a single-bladed regular lightsaber, and you now have a Crossguard Lightsaber! The bonded crystals can also be installed in double-bladed or short lightsabers, however, they will still be the default double-bladed and short bladed lightsabers. If you want to remove a crystal from an emitter, talk to T3 once more and he will separate the two items. You can find crossguard lightsaber items in the following locations: Dantooine: Blue crossguard lightsaber on Nemo's body Kashyyyk: Jolee now comes equipped with a violet crossguard lightsaber Korriban: Sith lightsaber located in Naga Sadow's tomb has been changed to a crossguard lightsaber Tatooine: Emitter in Kraayt Dragon cave Unknown World: Emitter on The One's body Yavin Station: Suvam Tam will sell you 2 emitters Cheats: g_i_crossguard - Emitter which can be bonded with any color crystal in the default game g_w_lghtsbr09 - Blue crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g_w_lghtsbr10 - Red crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g_w_lghtsbr11 - Green crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g_w_lghtsbr12 - Yellow crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g_w_lghtsbr13 - Violet crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g1_w_lghtsbr03 - Heart of the Guardian crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) g1_w_lghtsbr04 - Mantle of the Force crossguard lightsaber (upgradeable) INCOMPATIBILITY: DUE TO THE UNIQUE WAY THAT THIS MOD IS SET UP, IT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH OTHER MODS THAT HAVE A UPCRYSTALS.2DA OR MODIFY UPCRYSTALS.2DA. THIS MEANS THAT MOST LIGHTSABER MODS WILL BE INCOMPATIBLE. IF YOU USE THIS MOD WITH OTHER LIGHTSABER MODS AND HAVE PROBLEMS, UNINSTALL BOTH MODS AND CHOOSE ONE TO RE-INSTALL Bugs: The lightsaber extension bug has been fixed thanks to newly developed tools! No known bugs exist, please contacte me with bug reports. Summary Almost everybody on Korriban wears the standard bland Sith officer uniform. This mod alters the look of almost everybody on the planet so they're dressed more appropriately. Czerka workers wear Czerka uniforms, Sith troopers wear Sith armor, Dark Jedi wear Dark Jedi robes. While I was going through all the files I noticed some other oddities and corrected them – things like missing items or misplaced files. See the change log for a full list of changes. Installation Note: It is recommended that you uninstall any previous versions of this mod before installing a new version. Extract files from the downloaded archive. Run Korriban_Back_in_Black_K1.exe. Select which version to install. If you have the KOTOR Community Patch installed, choose the KOTOR Community Patch-Compatible Installation option. Otherwise, choose the Basic Installation option. Click "Install Mod" and select your game directory (default name SWKOTOR). There are additional options for Uthar, Yuthura, and Tariga that you may install after the rest of the mod is installed. Uninstallation Remove the installed files or replace from backups if necessary. Compatibility This mod may be compatible with but will overwrite other mods that alter the appearance or equipment of characters on Korriban. It's safest not to use it with any other mod that alters the same characters. Some of the changes will take effect immediately, but for best results you should install this mod before visiting Korriban for the first time in your game. 1 pointOk so I had a look at it in game and the model actually references both the custom lightsaber texture and the stock blue texture. I've replaced the stock references with references to the custom texture. Here's the fixed model and textures. fixedforgreen.7z

1 pointSo I tested Kotor 2 with the Restored Content Mod and K2 Community Patch installed on another computer using a Nvidia 1660 and after modifying the apperance.2da file the Vogga model looked correct. If anyone has issues with this or models in K1 looking odd it could be that you are using an ATI card that doesn't handle envmaps properly.

1 pointAny news on the Sleheyron Planet, Work-In-Progress mod for KotOR?
-
1 pointTop notch work, kudos in making this truly feel like it belongs in vanilla.

1 pointEither one of the load screens can be desaturated. I was planning on doing desaturated versions for the default mod, but I’m so in love with the colored versions that it makes it hard. I am not sure why people think the first one matches the style better. They are both just screenshots of the area like everywhere else in the game 🤷♂️ But maybe it does match better. The first screenshot is very similar to one angle from an original screenshot. The second is from a section of the street that I created from scratch with no real template to base it on. I’ll post up desaturated versions of both and maybe that will help decide. Here's both desaturated: I agree that the Option 1 looks much better than Option 2 when desaturated. I'm thinking the best course is, as others have suggested, Option 1 for default loadscreen, and Option 2 for Loadscreens With Color Add-on.

Some bug from either High Quality Blasters by Sithspectre or it could be one of my blaster addon mods, more likely. -
1 pointI'm very excited to see this in action! I recently played with Hassat's 'Choose Handmaiden or Disciple' mod but because, in my head at least, Exile is always Female and therefore Disciple is always there, it bugged me for that playthrough that he wasn't. Picky, I know. Regardless, the chance to have them both available is wonderful! I do wish we could add them both to the Party Selection screen and kick out someone who I hardly use, like say, G0-T0. I mean, he can hang out on the ship during missions so we still get his story arc. Despite this, I've already included this in my written Mod List I keep to track mods and incompatibilities and I've not even tried it yet. So I'll definitely be using it. All the time. Thanks friend.

1 pointThis seems pretty level-headed to me Took a screenshot because I'm sure the comment will be deleted

1 pointI posted the following, which he repeatedly removed: with a link to the original file included. I'm really wondering what exactly his deal is.

1 pointIt's all stated there... workshop got enough issues as is, and a one-file in override mod doesn't need a workshop entry. Just get it here or moddb and place it in TSLRCM's override, done. If they can't do that they're in for much worse for H4F (TSLPatcher). Not that I'm in an updating modd at the moment. Also seems he deleted FS's comment aswell as another friend of me replying. What is his problem? Thanks for reporting everyone!
-
1 pointGotta love that attitude. I reported it as well, for whatever it is worth. There are plenty of potential reasons, not least of which is the Workshop is a poorly implemented repository for mods. But it's irrelevant. The wishes of the author should be respected, regardless of the motivation/reason.

1 pointYeah... but doesn't that kind of character decision pro/con thing happen in RPGs all the time? Besides one or two points in a few attributes and five extra Force Points, there's no bonus to having Hanharr; conversely, besides being weak in Demolitions and thus can't pick up a mine, there is no way Mira could be any more useful. Regardless of the character's physical usefulness, Darth Tyren already laid down good in-game reasons why the two can't be in the same group. Not only would you have to make a Mira version of Kreia's Hanharr cutscene in Visguis' base, Hanharr thinks she's dead. Throwing the two of them together in the same ship, knowing that one wants to kill the other, is just a recipe for disaster and chaos, breaking the mood in some cases, and most likely requiring cutscenes involving the two of them. I don't know about you, but I don't have Mira's VA on speeddial...

1 pointNot in a way that the game can make sense of it. FS tried to talk me into considering making one or the other a puppet of the Exile. I was able to write down why I didn't want to do that. First, the game itself would recognize one of them as a Party Puppet rather than a Party Member. There is a difference between the two in the scripts. The game checks for the availability of only one Puppet, Bao-Dur's remote. Which means at the points of the game where it checks available Party Members to spawn, if one of them isn't a Member but a Puppet, they won't spawn. Second, since the game wouldn't recognize that NPC as "in your party", the banter dialogs and other lines given to specific companions in other dialogs won't be fired properly. Third, I don't want to change the way the game works when it comes to companions. I want them to be their own entity, not a piece of each other, the Exile, or anyone else. Besides, the armband actually works.

This mod changes Admiral Saul Karath's uniform to that of a Grand Admiral Uniform; seeing as he was Malak's top Admiral, I felt he should get something extra. This mod also includes a Chiss reskin of Saul Karath. The mod itself has 6 skins total- 2 for Chiss, 2 for Standard 2 for Both Chiss and Standard Saul. As a bonus, seeing as this is my first mod- I've decided to make the uniform the default clothes, and also included a chiss head- (roughly done sorry.) -
0 pointsBasically in the whole game - every planet. The tricky thing is, in vanilla game you dont realize the difference, but it becomes obvious, when you are using quality texture Overhauls. For example, as you know, im using very high res Textures for rocks, floors etc - all the super crisp details on the surfaces are gone/blurry, also subtle shiny metallic textures are completely matte & dull looking. Lastly, bright lights in dark areas for high contrast are not displayed/ pitch black.

0 pointsThanks for the feedback. To ensure there are no mod intererences etc. i tested the features mentioned above with a clean installation. And the issues are definitely due to Steam Version - with a clean install of my GOG K2 everything worked as intended. Funny, but when i first started Steam K2, i thought - wow, its even supporting 3440x1440 resolution, and the new UI looks so nice and the game's running really smooth... Its just deception - like a beautiful fruit infested with maggots... For s.o. who wants to play vanilla TSL without any cosmetic mods, then its fine to use it, but it will break any sophisticated visual mod and blur out all high resolution textures to look much worse. Since i own both versions now, i have the direct comparison and i only can encourage you to stay away from Steam & switch over to GOG -> its a night and day difference.

0 pointsI haven't read all of the posts yet, so I don't know if TSL's development history was addressed. It wasn't Obsidian's fault, it was LucasArts'. LucasArts requested BioWare make a sequel before KoTOR was finished, transferred development to Obsidian after BioWare refused, kept Obsidian from speaking with BioWare, and gave Obsidian a year and a half to make the game when KoTOR took three years. The first Obsidian learned about KoTOR came from playing the game after it was released, and the company had to scrap damn near everything it had and start over. Out of 18 months, 3 were lost to learning about KoTOR, and then story and game development proceeded. This is the reason why you barely see anything from KoTOR in TSL other than the game engine and a few character and object models. Even worse, TSL was supposed to be a bigger game and the Exile was supposed to get to level 50. That was no longer possible with only 15 months of development and testing. Much of what has been restored in TSLRCM is undeveloped content that was scrapped due to time constraints. The game we're playing is less than a year's worth of work. It's amazing it's as good as it is.

0 pointsStraight from heaven? Then you know who to really thank for it, huh? As for Mira and Hanharr, I've gotten multiple requests. Sadly, I have to shoot every last one of them down. To include both Mira and Hanharr is not only potentially game-breaking, but it also doesn't make any sense to the story of the game. Hanharr and Mira were always meant to be arch rivals, so one follows you, while the other goes to Malachor. I will not be changing that any time soon.
