Maybe you could create a thinktank of modders to improve your original mods and then delete the older versions?
-
Wow. I legitimately thought you took footage from Swtor and overlayed it onto an Anchorhead backdrop. If I may say that model looks impeccable.

Well ain't that something. The guy/company behind ModDB bought the site. https://www.dbolical.com

So this has been puzzling me for some time. Is Dantooine's natural sky color purple, and if so why is it that way? (different sun color or perhaps a native flora in the atmosphere?)
-
The explanation could be the height of the atmosphere. A sunset is red because the light has to travel further through the atmosphere, resulting in the lower wavelengths (blue) to be scattered so much that they no longer reach us. So in a thinner atmosphere, we'd see more of the shorter wavelengths, i.e. if Dantooines atmosphere were thinner, it might cause a purple hue in the sky.
-
Or the most likely explanation: Something purple makes up a significant part of the atmosphere, just like you suggested.

Can someone please make some Clone Wars or Rebels mods
Malkior replied to knitewingtherevanchist's topic in Mod Requests
Cool! It turns out that the filename .ascii was screwing with my importer. The files work now. (In case you missed my PM update, OP, here's what it looks like right now. I have to go to bed now with maybe some time to work on it a bit tomorrow or at least Thursday) -

So the new download isn't in ASCII. Is the newest MDLEdit the way to convert it, or should I use a different utility? -
There was one mod that attempted to land on the surface, which I think is lost to the ethos, but personally I'd love to see a Yavin IV mod where you search the surface for hidden treasure or some sort of "pirate" themed quest where you bump into more from the group that attacks the Station in Vanilla. However, Yavin IV itself is an interesting location, so it's cool either way.

I really like how you set the camera to pause on her extremely ineffective attempt to grab her lightsaber and how even Sion just stands there. It perfectly highlights his arrogance and further punctuates his beating of a fully defenseless opponent.

I wasn't aware that Odyssey supported Ambient Occlusion.. Does the implementation work similarly to TXIs? Also, I notice that the UVW seems to be missing some parts of the model (particularly the top rear of the helmet) Is this fixed in the updated model? -
Well, that would be true except a majority of the current new Star Wars fans are the slightly older crowd. Most of my friends in their twenties and thirties love it for their reasons. This could be because the new movies are targeted at teenagers and young adults (what with the character banter and the fact that most of the main characters are roughly that age), but who really knows. Whether by hype or some sort of coincidental mass group taste leaning toward a very specific type of movie, all of the adults who do know any better love or at least enjoy them. I guess there is also technically a difference between "old school" Star Wars fans and older people who like Star Wars..

Wow. You enhanced her features perfectly! She looks so similar to Bastila yet I could see her as a completely different person if the two were separated.

:\ Kotor was made wayyy before Republic Commando (And the like novels). I think you mean suffering through mediocre prequel games. (which weren't terrible) The most accurate comparison would be when the Expanded Universe started with the Dark Horse Comics and Timothy Zahn's novels after the terrible Christmas Special and glorified toy commercials that followed Return of the Jedi.. And those were different media... I don't think Star Wars has ever been that horrible in quite some time.

So, I've hated everything that came out for Star Wars following TOR's release. I watched TFA out of curiosity as to whether I was simply missing out on something good due to my own bias.... Okay, so I really hated TFA as well, but my point is that there are a multitude of reasons and Youtube videos that justify my opinion on the matter, but it simply is an opinion regardless. If you loved TFA; cool, glad you enjoyed it, but to this day I despise literally every single scene, every single character, every single screenwriting choice. I think it's unfair to say that TLJ is the biggest step back and a mark against the series when I have a massive disdain for the entire Disney line yet some people think it's "The greatest version of Star Wars yet". Every film has flaws, so if you focus on each individual one, then you can justify your opinion of them being terrible for literally any of them. The trick is to let people love whatever cinema they love. If you don't like the direction Star Wars is going, then welcome to the club; Star Wars is no longer designed for me and my interests, maybe it's the same for you now.

That and stick with the old Star Wars stuff that is still quite good. (Like a certain RPG series I have *heard of.. )

As overreaching as this idea is, why can't we have both options with a conversation trigger/variable that chooses whether the Kaevee or Jorran dialogue tree is activated? I've seen such a concept done with mods for Mass Effect, and since the quest design is similar, perhaps we could implement it something along that vein?

Well, Kotor 1 has the Klatuu Barada and Nikto as the Racer thugs, a (Presumably) Iridonian, Tusken Raiders, Aqualish, Hutt, Ithorian, Duros, Weequay, Jawa, Gamorrean, Wookiee, Whatever species Vandar is, Bith, Selkath, Rakata, Rodian, and Ja-Gatcha. TSL added the Gran, Toydarian, Devaronian, Zeltron, Quarren, Gand, Chadra-Fan, and Sullustan. Altogether, that's fair amount of alien species. I think the biggest issue is that the games simply didn't utilize a lot of this variety in anywhere but the Cantina locations. Plus TSL was more or less a sparse population in general. (possibly to deal with the limitations of the consoles, or because they ran out of time to implement more space for NPCs) In TSL, you see a Zeltron, Toydarian, Chadra-Fan, and Devaronian only once in the entire game; and the Quarren, Sullustan, and Gran twice. I'm all for adding more varieties of aliens, but I don't see where you would put them.

Funny. You spoiled the April 1st surprise but I still want to see it.

Fixed Hologram Models and Admiralty Redux for TSLRCM
Malkior commented on DarthParametric's file in Mods

Personally, I think this is one of the most sorely needed fixes in TSL. Obsidian had a particular talent for reusing assets almost to the point it made the game look repetitive, and it severely cripples the potential to update any textures as they unintentionally affect numerous other parts of the game. To install these texture fixes, do we have to put all new area models to the game? That's the biggest limitation I encountered when I tried working on Telos.

This is very interesting news. I've seen the Dark Forces II mod since its infancy, and since the Dark Forces I mod was so suddenly abandoned after releasing its demo, I'd love to see at least one of these to finally be complete. The fact that they're making their own engine tells me that they're serious and reminds me of the one successful conversion mod, Black Mesa. I've always been a fan of the entire Dark Forces series as it feels like a slightly more mature version of Star Wars with its constant gunplay and fairly robust story. Thanks for the info.

Game of Thrones ShowRunners to produce Star Wars Trilogy
Malkior replied to VarsityPuppet's topic in Star Wars
How are they going to hold back the excessive elements though? I'm not sure the world is ready for an NC-17 Star Wars yet. (That said, as an adult, I don't mind that kind of stuff and it could make for some very interesting takes on existing Star Wars themes.) -
I'm also not a fan of the space pickup truck. I wish the designers of the new movies had a more creative approach to the worldbuilding, which aside from how I feel about the plot/acting/casting is my biggest complaint.
-
To be fair, I would watch anything with that title.

That looks amazing! I especially like the Stormtrooper outfit for Kyle (Which makes more sense to me if he really wanted to "infiltrate" the Remnant base in the beginning) and the various sliders for 3rd person camera. I really hope this comes out soon.
