I, for one, will welcome HH's modification. And I am sure we are a good number wanting that.
-
Out of curiosity, how many people are involved in the VO?
-
I think this is a very good idea and a modification I would happily use. Any plans for making also a version for the original SW:KotOR?
-
I've been wondering the same myself.
-
I like this idea. In KotOR I was bothered also by the ridiculous time difference between one tier and the other. I don't remember whether or not TSL has this problem as well but if it does, I would strongly suggest to modify them to allow for more beliavable tier records.

A wholly deserved praise, in my opinion.

This sounds interesting. Good luck with it!

Well, it seems there is a bunch of us (myself, Karmanaut, Darth Paulus, Kerk, Hegirae) who agree about the HK-50 and HK-51 having way too many hit points, making those long battles very tedious and, in my opinion, too difficult as well. The argument "I think nerfing the game would weaken it, instead of making people realise how to more efficiently play." does not really apply, because if it was the player's strategy at fault, we'd be complaining about other tough sections of the game. But we are not. We are indicating one specific part, meaning we were up to the other challenges before. Please will you consider lowering the droids' HP with a 25% the next time you release an update to TSLRCM 1.8? I think it'd be a good compromise and I am sure it won't make the HK factory a cakewalk. If not, could you please tell us what files we should manually modify in order to accomplish that? Thanks. P.S. I am extending my support to the music Darth Paulus suggested...
-
I would definitely use it. I guess it's just a matter of making the droids' HP considerably lower (-25%, at least).

It was me who reported version 1.0 of that mod to be game breaking together with TSLRCM. VP was kind enough to whip up a new version just some days after, this time completely compatible with TSLRCM. It was 1.7 at that time though.

In Nar Shaddaa or the Dxun tomb I don't have to rely on one specific item worn by one specific character in order to survive. In the HK factory, I do. Also, the fact that you yourself wrote that there is "finally" difficulty would mean that untill that part the game is not difficult (including Nar Shaddaa and Dxun tomb). However, I think TSLRCM is simply brilliant and this is just minor nitpicking. I don't mean to sound ungrateful or aggressive so sorry if I give that impression.
-
In bold lies the problem. TSL (just like KotOR) is a game of very moderate challenge at normal level. People who want a normal challenge want it all through the game. The "There's finally difficulty" is wrong because either the game is hard from beginning to end (there is a reason why there are difficulty choices at game start) or it is moderate/easy from beginning to end. I can allow a small exception for the so called "bosses" that became a "trademark" level design somehow. I still don't like it but it has its internal logic. But the HK factory's difficulty is disproportioned and it's not a boss fight. It's a whole part of the game. The challenge rises abruptly and it is not in harmony with the game itself.
-
I find myself very symphatetic with Hegirae: the HK factory's challenge is excessive and should be nerfed to make the difficulty of the game more even. I always hated when games set an even challenge level and then raise it to unreasonable heights by the end. It's cheap level design. I am symphatetic with GalinKinlin as well with his concerns about items that should be very rare appearing in lots of 3 or 4 by the end of the game. It breaks immersion.

Well, HH has been going through the game with such precision that I expected the bugs to be really few. Will there be a small update fix soon?
-
Epic day, this one! Congratulations and thanks to all of you: zbyl2, Hassat Hunter (now you deserve to load your batteries), DarthStoney and in particular VarsityPuppet for finding the motivation to see this completed. Thanks to those modders that let TSLRCM incorporate some of their work to make it even better! And thanks to all those who contributed ideas and suggestions on this very forum! I am really happy!

I begin to see the light...
-
Being myself a modest music composer, I would have to agree with Darth Paulus here. The original theme sounds to me more appropriate too.

How many planets are there again?
-
Like everybody else, I am saddened by your decision, VP. But as you said, it's better to come out clean and avoid deluding those people that'd postpone playing TSL again untill Malachol VI was out (me, to say one...). I certainly hope that this (temporary, hopefully) retirement of yours from the modding scene won't have huge impact on the TSLRCM 1.8 modification though as it'd feel extremely unfair, after its delay. Said that, I wish you the best and want to thank you for your great contributions and for the support you gave to us all.
-
I would not want to see this restored, even if it was possible.
-
Really good job, HH! I like the way it all becomes more seamless now!
-
As I said, Version 1 better than Version 2 but Version 3 way better than Version 1.
-
Okay, the way the two options are now, I would definitely go for version 1. But version 2 has more potential for becoming a better cutscene, if the necessary adjustments (suggested above) are implemented.

While I regret of not being in a position to beta test this very interesting mod, I am still wondering if good quality feedback is being provided by actual beta testers. Are you guys satisfied with how this is progressing? Thanks!
