KotOR 1: Solari crystal not restricted
Salk replied to Salk's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
Well, it seems that all works as intended. I don't know what kind of glitch I've been experiencing or if I just got confused in the process but the lightsaber with the Solari crystal in is correctly flagged as non equippable for Dark Side characters. My bad. -
KotOR 1: Solari crystal not restricted

No, I did not. I am using a simple violet crystal. -
Naga Sadow - Freedon Nadd Entombment Inconsistency
Salk replied to a topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
Of course it is used ingame. That's how I noticed it. -
Hello! I noticed that the description for the Solari crystal expressly specifies that it should be restricted to Light Side use. The game is not consistent with this though as it can be happily assembled into the lightsaber of my very dark protagonist. There are two solution: either we amend the description or we really restrict it to Light Side. My preference would be for the latter, even for lore reasons.

Naga Sadow - Freedon Nadd Entombment Inconsistency
Salk replied to a topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
Yes, Hassat Hunter. I was talking about KotOR 1. Sorry for not having pointed it out. The four tombs in Korriban are named as follow: Tomb of Naga Sadow, Tomb of Tulak Hord, Tomb of Mark Ragnos and Tomb of Ajunta Pall. Only in that one line is the Tomb of Ajunta Pall called Tomb of Freedon Nadd. There are hints about the developers having changed the name from Freedon Nadd to Ajunta Pall at a later stage. In fact Ajunta Pall's sword tag is "k37_itm_freedont" and Ajunta Pall himself's is "kor37_freedon". My guess is that they forgot to change that line. -
Naga Sadow - Freedon Nadd Entombment Inconsistency
Salk replied to a topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I am reviving this thread to report that there is one PC line in KotOR which makes me perplexed (Str 14287): "I've heard there's an artifact sword in the tomb of Freedon Nadd." I think it should be correct to change "Freedon Nadd" with "Ajunta Pall". Since I am maintaining an updated dialog.tlk I'd like to make sure we all agree. -
[KotOR] Tentative Fixes in Manaan - Tester needed
Salk replied to Salk's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Nice to know all seems to be fine. About possible releases, I am not sure whether I should make any modification made by me "officially" public because I think I might mess things up any time. I'd rather have the K1 Restoration team take a look at it when time comes and decide if it's worth their time proof reading this stuff and make it part of their project. -
[KotOR] Tentative Fixes in Manaan - Tester needed
Salk replied to Salk's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Very well! Would you mind downloading these files, place them in the Override and tell me if the problems are gone? Here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9_1X7K5KtOcelZoM1V1Vm5yazg/edit?usp=sharing For the always-open-door issue please follow these steps: 1) Fly to any planet other than Manaan (it doesn't matter whether or not you paid the docking fee in Manaan already) 2) Go back to Manaan and go to Atho City entrance 3) (you should find the door there closed) Pay the fee 4) Enter Atho City and go wherever you like 5) Leave the City 6) Fly to any planet 7) Go back to Manaan and go to Atho City entrance (you should find the gate closed again, as they should be) Thanks! -
[KotOR] Tentative Fixes in Manaan - Tester needed
Salk replied to Salk's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
I tested my fixes on my local install and I am successful but I need to have confirmation that I am not fixing issues that only happen to me. If you Fair Strides and/or somebody else could take a few minutes to check that these bugs belong to the original game, I'd be happy to let you test the fixes for them. Thanks! -
Hello! I would like to try only the restored cutscene with Zaerdra, the extra dialog with Carth after landing on Taris and the restored dialog for the Sith at the base. Could someone tell me which files I need to manually copy over from the K1R folder? Thanks!

[KotOR] Tentative Fixes in Manaan - Tester needed
Salk replied to Salk's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
I am really grateful, Fair Strides. Please tell me if you can do the following: 1) Go to Manaan 2) Go to the Mercenary Enclave 3) Speak to Shaelas and accept to investigate the issue of the missing young Selkath 4) Speak to the Iridorian Mercenary and ask about the missing young Selkath choosing the option "How many credits would it take to make my business your business?" At this point the game dialogue should break, making it impossible to continue with the game. At least, that's what's happening to me. Can you confirm it? Also please tell me if you could do the following: 1) Go to Manaan 2) Pay the fee to enter Atho City 3) Leave Manaan for any other planet 4) Return to Manaan In my experience, you'll find the door to Atho City still open, despite the Selkath Port guard telling you before that a fee is due for each time you leave the planet and then come back. Thanks! -
Hello! I need one volunteer able to test a few possible fixes for the Manaan section of the game. Please reply here if you are available. A non-modded game is required.

Hello! Is there some file I can edit in order to change the record times for the swoop races? Thanks for your help.

KotOR: Inventory Icon always blinking
Salk replied to Salk's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I guess ignoring it is the way to go... And yes, I think Fair Strides might be right about it not working properly if you change modules with it still blinking... -
KotOR: Inventory Icon always blinking
Salk replied to Salk's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
Well, I don't think so. You see, I enter the Inventory menu and, just to make sure, I click on everything possible there... -
Hello! I thought to ask here if anyone else is experiencing the same. I played the game 3-4 times in my life with and without modifications and as long as I can remember I have always had this kind of issue with the Inventory icon. It should blink when new items are added to the Inventory but in my case it blinks even after I have looked at them and all items are thus examined. Am I being dense and there is another reason why it still blinks? Thanks!

It feels like I have rubbed the genie's lamp. Thanks, HH!

Hassat Hunter, would you be so kind as to provide us with a 1.8.3 change log like you did before for the other versions you've been working on? Thanks!
-
Darth Hayze, I (and I am sure many others) would be grateful if you could give us even a small update on this. Thanks!
-
Agreed. It should be part of 1.8.3!
-
It seems there are actually many countries in the world cut off from Gamefront's idiotic policy. Never before have I had such an issue anywhere else on the Internet. It's a disgrace (I had a couple of my own mods there too once upon a time and pulled them down immediately).
-
I meant the third movie. Sorry about being unclear.
-
I like the modified second version too...

The only thing I personally am not really fond of is the choice of a much darker tone for many textures. In some cases (http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/2062-tsl-textures-remastered/?p=21172 and http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/2062-tsl-textures-remastered/?p=21173) it is really so much that it ends up thwarting the commendable intention to remain faithful to the original game visuals, delivering a much different atmosphere to the environments. For the rest, great work.

I guess there can always be a 1.8.3 which takes care of the small things left to polish?
