I'm still surprised that I just now heard this. It's completely fits the bill to be considered restored content.

I also have more Kotor 1 mods that fits the bill to be considered restored content.

If you're referring to this mod compilation by A Future Pilot, it says it's unfortunately incompatible, though I haven't played with both to test how problematic it'd be

I posted it as incompatible because I haven't been able to test it (and probably won't be able to for some time due to IRL stuff), however they SHOULD be compatible. If someone wants to test it out for me, I'll definitely update the Unofficial Patch's page to reflect that it's compatible.

I've already have done that. Check out the mods I've made, there is plenty in their that I find would go perfectly with K1R.

I have searched everywhere but i still haven't found a solution.

Im on Windows 7 with the GoG version of the game, have taken ownership of the game's installation folder, made sure read only is off, run the installer as administrator, uninstalled and installed the game clean several times and the installation still breaks with this message.

 

• Error: Unhandled exception: Cannot create file "C:\Users\Myname\Desktop\KotOR 1 Restoration-54-1-2\K1R_1.2\k1r_paztourney_tmp\enter_paz.ncs". Access is denied (0)

 

Im honestly at my wits end with this thing, which is a shame cause i really wanted to try out this mod.

Not sure if it has something to do with it but i figured out my computer is a 32 bit machine so i tried moving the installation folder on my windows 10 64 bit laptop and it installed completely fine, i'm in the process of moving the modded folder back to my other computer.

So maybe the installer has issues with 32 bits systems? Who knows.
Either that or the installer just dislikes Windows 7.

Get 7-Zip, because it's a .7z file (that program's own format) instead of a .zip file.

For some reason I can not install the mod. If I start the installer I can choose from the varions mod options. If I pick the main mod an hit select the window closes but nothing happens. The installer image is still in my taskbar but I cant reopen the programm. Any idea what I could do?

As I am having the same problem with BOSSR it seems like I am having a general problem with TSL Patcher.

EDIT1: Found a solution. WIll leave it here in case somebody runs into the same problem. Hover over the taskbar icon with your mouse. Hit ALT+SPACE. Then click maximize.

EDIT2: Is there any female Bastila Romance Mod that works with K1R and BOSSR?

Do you have GOG? I've had minimal problems modding Kotor on there (Steam isn't 100% mod friendly for older games from my experience)

Nope. And I bought Steam version because at that time (likely 2017) both KoTOR Steam versions had newest patch.

I don't think the version of the base game matters for this particular issue, because TSLpatcher is trying to create the temporary folder and file in the K1R directory, not KOTOR's own directory. I've had the same issue trying to install for the Best of PC version. It's some sort of stupid conflict with Windows' security arbitrarily treating the directory K1R was extracted to as Read Only in the middle of installation. The solution seems to be "Run as admin and hope for the best"

So... The last time I tried installing K1R, it broke the ability to load save files. This time around it didn't happen. I don't know if I just got unlucky during the previous try, or if there was something corrupted in the swkotor.exe that installing K1R broke even worse (in between, I overwrote the swkotor.exe installed from the CD with the editable version because after installing Kainzorus' Clone Armors mod I was having an annoying bug - the main character getting stuck in place after ending combat or examining a container - that I hadn't run into before installing that and kept having to save and reload to fix, and hadn't run into the bug again yet after the executable replacement).

I'm not sure how to go about reporting a bug. But after I have successfully destroyed all 8x Sith Interceptors upon escaping the Leviathan, the game crashes completely. and I am caught in an endless loop of I restart at my save, fight off the interceptors, receveive the vicotirous Ebon Hawk theme and video and just before the jump to hyperspace it crashes - rinse and repeat.  Has this been resolved somehow?

I'm running the Steam version of KOTOR 1 with:

K1R,

EZ-Swoop (never given me issues before0

D1 Floating Lightsabers (never given me issues before)

I don't remember what other mods I'm running.

K1R is basically a dead mod at this point with no active support. But your problem is unlikely to have anything to do with it anyway, so this is the wrong place to post about it. You can use a script edit to skip the fighter minigame. Download this archive, extract k_ren_levescape.ncs and put it in your Override folder.

I install the mod.

I've never installed a Kotor mod. So, I don't know what to do exactly.

I installed the KotOR 1 Restoration 1.2 mod.

I did what it says in the in the tutorial. I used "K1R_1.2_Installer.exe".

I loaded a saved game in the Black Vulkar Base. There is no way to go to Level 2. There is still a small room that has boxes, etc...

Why is that?

If you can help me anyway, I'll really appreciate.

You’ll need to start a new game, or at least load a save from before you entered the base, as the changes made to the module files won’t be read with the save you’re using.

Personally, I’d start a new game entirely, so as to make sure everything else works as it should and to ensure you don’t miss out on other content that’s been restored to areas you’ve already been to.

It didn't work.

I have 4 CDs Version. Does it matter? Or I have to use Steam or GOG version?

I've already installed 1.03 Update.

Did you extract everything from the downloaded archive before running the installer? As long as you've started a new game, you should be fine, as long as you've installed the mod properly. Shouldn't matter which version of the game you're using, either.

As for the sword in the video, yes it's a mod. I don't know which one.

There was a folder named "K1R_1.2".

In that folder, I ran "K1R_1.2_Installer.exe".

I installed "Main K1R 1.2 Installation" first.

Then,  Iriaz, Party on the Sea Floor, Vulkar Base,  Juhani and Jolee Original Clothes.

Nothing changed.

PS: I'll try to start the game before sewers. Let's see, what happen...

I noticed something.

Mission Vao is totally missing. There is no more Mission Vao.

I started the game before getting the quest Black Vulkar.

Edit: After trying several times and by using different swtor.exe file, Mission came back.

I don't know how.

I noticed that I have two different 1.03 version of swtor.exe

One of them has 3,948 KB, the other one has 5,648 KB size.

Edit 2:

Knights of the Old Republic v1.03 [ENGLISH] Fixed EXE is one of the 1.03 update that 3,948 KB size.

SWKotOR1_03.exe file has 5,648 KB size.

Which one is the correct one? I don't know. Which one has Mission, which one hasn't her? I don't know.

I have a crash issue in the Vulkar Base.

When the PC, Mission, and the Wookie enter in the cell that has spice (I think, it's the Lab...) the video starts. Then, the game becomes inaccessible.

And, I can't see Lab label on map.

Can you help me anyway?

I have 1.3 update, and Restoration 1.2.

I started the game before getting any Vulkar missions/quests.
