2 pointsHello everyone! I am original author of this mod. I would like to inform that the final version was released. I agree that Kotor is ageing game and probably even four times upscaled vanilla textures may be not enough, but keep in mind that it has around 2300 textures (GUI, effects and etc excluded) and it is very huge amount even when making wth the help of AI, not to mention making those from scratch (figuring UV mapping, creating new textures, testing and etc) And yes, alphas are intact, as I did not upscale those with AI (AI does not upscale those correctly even if you tweak it to do so). And I did not use any automatic transfering of alphas (there are already problems in some mods using this method when alpha must be 100% black, but somehow during this transfer it becomes 98% black and then transparent models occur in-game). I upscaled alphas using bicubic filter and transfered to upscaled textures, all by hand, texture by texture. On the bright side with this mod keeps game's original look with way more sharper textures. Regarding before and after pictures, well due to jpg compression most people won't even see the difference in those pictures (as not everyone has monitors precise enough in color reproduction and etc.), but I may add some as I finally finished the mod. Take care! And Merry Christmas! Selphadur P.S. Thank you Salk for sharing this here! P.P.S. Regarding TXI info. I just discarded .tpc format as it was giving too many issues (problems with mipmaps, seams, transparency; don't know if it was just a problem of a tool, but took too much time to transfer .txi info anyway). When making .tga you don't need any .txi info as game provides it by itself.

The K1 Community Patch (K1CP) is a compilation of previous bugfix mods and a multitude of new original fixes put together with the intention of resolving the many and various issues that KOTOR has. This includes some well-known game breaking bugs/softlocks, broken quests, inaccessible content, as well as lesser issues such as problems in conversations, visual inconsistencies, player annoyances, etc. The intention is for the changes to be as seamless as possible, fixing and improving things whilst still retaining the original developer intent. A huge thanks to all of the mod authors who created these mods, and allowed them to be included in this patch! Unfortunately, the individual list of changes has grown far too long to be included in this post. However, you can view a detailed breakdown of each author's individual contributions in the included readme file and a summary of the changes the current version has made since the previous release in the changelog file. List of Contributing Authors (alphabetical): A Future Pilot blennus danil-ch darthbdaman DarthParametric Ebmar Frykas Gimmick5000 jc2 JCarter426 Kainzorus Prime Kexikus KOTOR 1 Restoration Team Leilukin Markus Ramikin N-DReW25 ndix UR R2-X2 Red Hessian Salk th3w1zard1 Thrak Farelle WildKarrde Installation: Run INSTALL.exe and navigate to your K1 install folder. Generally speaking, this mod should be installed before anything else, except mods that do hard edits/overwrites of 2DA, TLK or MOD (module) files. Warning: Never run the installer from inside the archive! Always extract the archive onto your hard drive first. N.B.: With the advent of version 1.10.0, K1CP has migrated away from the use of TSLPatcher and switched to HoloPatcher. This allows for additional patching functionality and resolves some bugs encountered with TSLPatcher. HoloPatcher is also multi-platform. The bundled installer is the Windows version, but Mac and Linux users can download the appropriate installer for their system here. It is highly recommended that you do not install the game on your system's C drive, especially in Program Files. Windows can have permissions issues when trying to install the mod to a C drive destination. If you are using the Steam version of the game and have installed Steam in its default Program Files location, we advise creating a new Steam Library on a different drive and moving the game there via the game's Properties pop-up in Steam. Translation: The mod now has translations in French and Russian, available as separate patches. To use, first download the base K1CP v1.10.0 archive and extract it to your harddrive. Download your translation patch of choice and extract its contents into K1CP's tslpatchdata folder. Proceed to install the mod as normal. Compatibility/Known Issues: K1CP uses module injection in an attempt to remain as compatible as possible with other mods. This may result in issues with mods that simply put files in the Override folder. It is recommended that you consult the individual authors of any large scale mods, particularly those that edit DLGs and scripts, as to whether their work is compatible with K1CP. Some mods will likely require updates, some may need to be installed in a specific order, whilst others may be fundamentally incompatible. K1CP currently only supports the English language version of the game, and makes a number of edits to the TLK file in English. If anyone is able to provide translations of these changes to other languages, please let us know. The KOTOR 1 Restoration (K1R) mod is incompatible with K1CP, however there is ongoing work to re-create the K1R mod for K1CP: https://deadlystream.com/files/file/2345-restored-content-for-k1cp-demo/ These are the currently known bugs/issues with KOTOR or the mod that the K1CP is looking to resolve: https://github.com/KOTORCommunityPatches/K1_Community_Patch/issues If you find any others, especially with changes/additions K1CP makes, please report them on the Github issue page or here on Deadly Stream so they can be addressed. Be sure to include as much information as possible, including a list of all the other mods you have installed, the order you installed them in, steps to reproduce the problem, along with screenshots and save files, if appropriate. You may also be directed to provide the install log file, a list of the contents of your Override folder, and specific MOD files from your modules folder. Uninstallation: Given the complexity of this mod, a clean install of KOTOR is the recommended approach for uninstalling K1CP. However, HoloPatcher does provide uninstall Shell (Bash) and PowerShell scripts which will work as long as K1CP was the most recent mod installed. Permissions: Due to this mod being a compilation from many different authors, please do not distribute/rehost it. In an attempt to salvage some material from the now defunct SW:KotOR Upgrade project, I have decided to share this modification with the community. This file is meant to replace the original dialog.tlk that comes with the original game. It is meant to be used exclusively with the English version of the game. It is technically compatible with every other modification that alter this same file by patching it, provided this is installed first. Two versions are offered: one that includes only corrections and a revised one that includes most of the changes found in the PC Response Moderation modification by Kainzorus Prime. Enjoy! -
1 pointHello! I just thought about informing the local denizens of Deadlystream about a great modification that has recently been released which upscales through ESRGAN a huge number of in-game textures. A new version, according to the author is in the works and will add 750 more, making the upscaling practically apply to each single texture used in the game. I have tested the results myself and it's impressive. Cheers!

1 pointGreat news about the final release! Barring completely new textures created from scratch I believe this project is the best visual enhancement that could be brought to KotOR. Once more, thanks Selphadur, and Merry Xmas!

1 pointI read the Dark Empire comic after watching the first six canonical films, and thought it cheapened Anakin's sacrifice. So I did not like that comic at all.

1 pointAt the moment, this mod affects a single scene on Peragus and a single scene on Onderon with potentially more scenes/content to be restored in the future. Considering PS, EE, GL and M4-78 don't touch Peragus that'll be clean, EE, GL and M4-78 don't touch Onderon so that'll be clean and considering niether Disciple or Handmaiden have a role in the Bounty Hunter ambush I'm willing to bet that'll be compatible as well. In short, everything is safe to use with the Mod Collection.

1 pointYes, it's one of the ANIMLOOP anims, only usable with placeable sitters, unless you make a stunt anim or do the name hijack trick (i.e. put a copy on the model renamed to dance or some other scriptable anim). Edit: animloop01 = sitting still, hands on knees/thighs. animloop02 = sitting with drink in left hand, takes two sips. animloop03 = sitting holding cards, plays a single card. You should be able to see them in action in most cantinas. The Taris Upper City one has at least both animloop02 and 03, although I'm not sure about 01.

1 pointApparently Rey healed it when she healed his stab wound. To be fair, it kinda makes sense (and by "makes sense" I mean "it makes sense in a trilogy where nothing makes sense".)

1 pointHere's a vid on Rotten Tomatoes fixing audience scores. Not surprising everyone knows that Fandango the owners of RT get on there knees before the mouse overlord.

1 pointShall we have a laugh on Christmas Eve Eve? I think we all could use one. (Keep your eyes open for the Santa cameo!) BTW, more on topic: is it possible that we don't have to quote the entire quote by @dg1995 every time it's cited? Perhaps some selective quoting is in order if it is going to be referred to constantly. Just my two cents. Happy holidays!

1 pointI liked it. I think it did the best it could with the time it had to make up for the flaws with TLJ, answer the questions opened in TFA, keep a similar tone and style to the other movies, and close the entire series out. With how much it had to deal with going in, I think it turned out nearly as good as it could have. I really wish they had had a coherent plan from the start. This trilogy really suffered from the improv.

1 pointThis was one the word that I came to when trying to encapsulate what I just saw when leaving the theater for 930 AM showing. (As predicted, my wife dragged me there.) So . . . rushed. Rather than dwell on the avalanche of deserved ire that this movie will earn, I'd rather be thankful that this community here exists so we can remember what we like about all of this. KOTOR. KOTOR now. KOTOR forever.

1 pointI'm not even going to watch it. Learned enough of the spoilers that I don't want to. If they had gone with Lucas' cut it had a chance, but not this. The Mandalorian, though, is getting really good, more than makes up for it.
-
1 pointHahaha it was terrible. So-bad-it's-funny though, so it's not all bad. Much worse than TLJ. I defended some stuff in TLJ, there's nothing really to defend in this one.

1 pointWhile I like the idea to preserve the original look by remastering the visuals it's - at least in my eyes - not enough anymore. Kotor is getting pretty old by today's standards and remaking textures is the only real option when you look at how detailed Dark Hope did those.
-
1 pointIn the absence of higher-resolution textures, these are pretty good. They are a particular improvement for the random NPCs who seldom have any recent texture mods done for them.
