I like the idea of porting the modules between the games for further expansion. I would agree with what has been said, porting the entire story between either game would not be allowed with out specific permission from the publishers/developers/Disney. With that said, I am against blocking of all discussion on the matter, as I think that even if it is only for educational and research purposes it is a great subject to discuss and collaborate on.

PC Replacement Voices (Kira, DS Jaesa, LS Jaesa) AUTHOR: Sith Holocron ORIGINAL RELEASE: 25 DEC 2018 GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1. [This mod will not work in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2. See Description for more details.] RECOMMENDED ADDITIONAL MODS: "TOR Ports: Kira Carsen  Female Player Head for K1", "TOR Ports: Jaesa Willsaam Female Player Head for K1" - both by @DarthParametric Description: ------------------ This mod's creation was in response to a request by @Untold Prophecy so give him a shout on his request thread if you liked his idea. A few notes: Not all of the lines will play as that's how the game is set up. However, I've filled out as many of the options that I showed in the female PC voice lines document that I could. This also enables you - the player - to go through the lines and decide which is the best one to use. Options, people! Who doesn't like options? Some more notes: There are no Jaesa or Kira lines for some of the mine lines that I could find so I included blank files so you won't hear the original PC character's voice. I didn't replace the injury sounds either as it won't make a noticeable difference. (One scream is much like another, IMHO.) There were also a few where all three options use the same lines but as only one of those three play in game, you won't notice a difference. (It was easier copying one line to all three options than figuring out which one plays in game - which I can't do because my computer isn't working.) Hopefully, I've found suitable lines for the PC various scenarios. You'll have to let me know in the review section below. (Details are better than just leaving stars, you see.) Feel free to link videos of the lines in use if your review. I would've done it myself but my computer has not been brought to repair shop yet. This mod is only for Knights of the Old Republic 1. Knights of the Old Republic 2 - although it has the voice files for the male and female PC - that game doesn't have them activated, rendering the Exile mute. In order to use this mod in Knights of the Old Republic 2, you must install JC's Player Soundset Restoration for K2 in KotOR2 before this mod. That being said: As this mod is strictly designed for KotOR1 and not for KotOR2, any sounds that do not end of playing what you expected should not be reported to me. Installation: ----------------- There are three folders in the package: one for Kira Carsen, one for light side Jaesa Willsaam, and one for dark side Jaesa Willsaam. Choose one (and only one) of these soundsets and you can't use multiple soundsets for one character. Once you've made your choice, follow these instructions. 1) Move the original KotOR1 files that share the file names in this mod to a place you can find them. (I recommend a folder on your desktop.) Those files will be located in the "Streamsounds" folder where you have KotOR1 installed. 2) Extract the files from the 7z folder. Grab the new files from that extracted folder and put them in Streamsounds folder. Note: If you're using the mod on Steam, this quote may prove helpful. Uninstall: -------------- Remove the aforementioned contents from your Override folder. "I'm haunting you!!!" --Ghost Nappa Hey! Long time no see! So some of you folks might recognize me from Lucasforums. Yes it is I, and I am he; He who promotes hawt dumpster sechs, he who set the roof on fire, he who tried to fusion star wars with car robberies...and failed...the one with terrible taste. It's (formerly) Darth_Avlectus/GTA:SWcity. Now just...Avlectus. And if nobody recognizes me, that's cool. If you're pretending not to remember but are lurking in passive-aggressive fashion because you can't stand not to read just everything: HI STALKERS!!! I definitely recognize some of you. To any of you I don't know...I'd like to say you whippersnappers were missing out. But I couldn't tell ya just what us slightly older jackasses were up to, posting on LF. The hilarity that ensued from drunk or blazed posts. So how you folks been doing? I know I took my sweet fat time coming down here and registering. Been like 3 years since LF bit the dust. I talked to Purifier (or whatever he's now called here) via email. I hear some of you are messing with Blender Cycles. That's awesome. Just been busy with life in general myself. Playing GTA Online and some other not SW games when I get the time.

View File K1 Ported Alien VO Replacements This mod replaces the voice overs used for Nikto, Aqualish, Gran, and Quarren NPCs in KOTOR. In KOTOR I, Nikto, Aqualish, Gran, and Quarren NPCs use VOs that are meant for and shared by several other species. KOTOR II fixes this by adding VOs specific to these four species, so I figured hey, why not incorporate them back into the original game? The intention of this mod is to provide a stronger sense of immersion and consistency between the two games, while keeping the affected dialogue true to its intended "feel." A bonus side effect is that the aggressive Nikto VOs make the Black Vulkars seem like an actual threat instead of comic relief. Installation & Uninstallation To install this mod, run Installer.exe, select the option(s) you want, and proceed with the installation. To uninstall this mod, run the installer again, select the same option(s), and click Tools -> Uninstall Mod / Restore Backup. Compatibility Compatibility patches are included for K1CP (Queedle Fix) , KOTOR 1 Restoration, and Kainzorus Prime's K1 NPC Overhaul mod. K1R has a Nikto NPC in the Vulkar Base sublevel with Basic (English) VOs. I decided to leave this unaltered since it's restored content. Known Issues Some of the Nikto and Gran VOs don't have perfectly matching mouth animations, which is because KOTOR II is missing some LIP files. The placeholders I'm using are as close as I could find. These may be replaced in a later version. Redros's mouth doesn't move for a couple of lines of dialogue. This bug happens regardless of this mod and only if his appearance is Nikto, so I felt the bug is beyond this mod's scope. Please let me know of any other issues you find, or if you come across anything I missed! In addition, it doesn't work well with k1 files either, best bet is to use the dlg_editor found here.

That's great I'm glad you were able to enjoy it. I tried to keep the flow as much as possible. Though I am curious what I've done that would make it unable to be transfered across, leave it to me to find someway to break something...

KOTOR Tool doesn't support K2 dialogue files. My guess is trying to edit it at all with KOTOR Tool corrupted the file.

If you look at todays/modern games, they have a lot of variety in their textures + a ton of clutter to create a lively scenery. Often there are so many details that your eyes cant keep up, but they always seem to use different color schemes - you never will see a scenery just in grey like the vanilla Citadel. In V2 i tried to emulate that at least a bit, and while i agree that V1 looks more conform colorwise, i feel that V2 makes things a bit more lively. (keep in mind that V2 walls are reflecting, while V1 walls are not..) However, when, lets say, switching back from Deus Ex MD to K2, it still looks way to dull - i tried my best to get more details to them, but probably we would need to place some clutter here and there for a adequate effect.

Isn't that just a fade to black in the vanilla game? I thought the kiss was a mod. Edit: Yeah, here's the scene There's a mod that adds in a different animation for Bastila and the PC (ANIMATION_LOOPING_TALK_PLEADING it would seem) and changes the camera angle in order to fake the kiss.

I guess you could adress the issue with the K1 to K2 port in a legal friendly way either by creating an easy to follow tutorial that uses your released K1 to K2 modder's resources so a user would have to gather all your modder's resources you ported from K1 to K2 and manually batch copy them to the override, mods, etc folders to have the full port, either a more advanced method (you would need some programming skills for this), by creating an automated installer that runs on the user's PC and that just rips and converts the files from the genuine installations of K1 and K2. Actually, a team of dedicated modders managed to make an utility that legally ports Fallout 3 into the Fallout New Vegas engine (which is newer and more optimised, like the case with K1 and K2). They did this by releasing no actual game files, just an installer that takes the files from Fallout 3 and converts them as a Total Conversion mod for Fallout NW, thus allowing players to wander on the maps of both Fallout 3 and Fallout NW and complete both storyes in a single game (using Fallout NW only to play both games), and players can also transition in-game from the Fallout 3 and Fallout NV maps! This looks exactly like what you are planning with KOTOR... Check out their project for reference: https://taleoftwowastelands.com/ Quote from the Q&A section of their site:

Just finished playing this. Awesome mod, really well done and i enjoyed playing it very much! Feels so much like a part of the original game rather then a mod, it fits in perfectly! Just so You know, I encountered no major bugs whatsoever when playing your mod, it was a very smooth and polished experience! I also tried to install it to the IOS version of KOTOR 1 Mobile, unfortunately it does not seem to work with this version, as the game will hang when loading the new Mandalorian Base area. When i bypassed this by loading a save made directly in the Mandalorian Base, it loaded it fine, but the Dialogue triggers don't appear to work and i cannot exit the base I will try to see if it works with the Android version, since it is more flexible... Off-topic, i managed to get the Yavin IV mod to work perfectly with KOTOR 1 Mobile and KOTOR 1 Restoration to work partially on IOS, as well as Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge to work on Android, so it's a mystery why Mandalorian Lehon Expansion does not work...maybe it will work fine on Android as BoS:SR only works on Android as well.

At one point I was having this theory- Seems I was wrong. K1 did actually had a BGM implemented as ambient sound/SFX. We could hear it in the Upper City - North Apartment module [tar_m02ad] particularly with the Yun Genda/Sarna's quest. The relevant SFX is al_en_emptybar located in the 'streamsounds' folder. Though, the execution is not as smooth as TSL's Ent. Promenade which having that virtual surround feeling but still- it is something that can be explore.

That is good news Tyvokka, we thank you and the Admins / Moderators for clearing this out! Acknowledged, full game ports will be attempted ONLY for personal / research use, with NO releases or uploads of any kind! It would be cool if someone would make a K2 port in private and only send Disney / EA / Obsidian the only copy of the project (and then destroying all his / her copies), and write them: "Dear Disney / EA / Obsidian, since You had no interest in making a mobile K2, here you are, I made all the work for You! Now, if you please, would you kindly consider officially publishing the app to IOS and Android? You are now in possesion of the only copy of the build, I deleted my files and never aimed to publish anything since only you have this right and it is Your property, now it is only up to you to publish the game!" and sending the letter to the gaming press as well I'm really curious what their reaction would be! Thor110, I am making progress using your tutorial... actually the module porting procedure was not so complicatede after all, after i managed to wrap my head around it i managed to port the Ebon Hawk, Peragus and Harbringer from K2 to K1 in less than 2 hours (I didn't get to test them out yet but i followed the exact stept outlined by you, so it should work!). Your tutorial is very comprehensive and practical, very well made and i thank you for it! After porting the first module now i started porting a planet at a time, works great! My goal is to port at least a planet a day and see how that works out. I also managed to batch convert all the model files (.mdl) from K2 to K1, but with some errors. I'm doing this for personal use only...I don't aim to release anything, considering that You are handling the module porting process and creating the modders resources, and it was Your idea after all! I'm sure that you are doing the better job anyway, having more experience in the matter! By the way, when you did the batch converting of all the K2 models to K1 (.mdl files to ASCII and then to Binary again), did you get so many errors (about 100 of them or more) when converting the ASCII files back to Binary? I used the correct procedure, and definately didn't forget to set the game to K2 mode when batch converting the Binary files to ASCII and then to K1 mode as I converted the ASCII files back to Binary! I also encountered some errors, less this time (about 40 of them), when first batch converting the K2 Binary files to ASCII... Is this normal? Did you also get so many errors?

Very fun to play through. Writing and voice overs are well done, and the new battles are always welcome. Only Issue I ran into was some of the new Sith troopers dropping everything they had equipped on the star forge, stuff we aren't supposed to see like level 3 droid shields and heavy armor.

No idea, never installed that before. I can imagine, that you'd install that first, then install mine and everything should function.

As per recommendations from @ebmar in a PM, I have amended the directions for use of the Beta files in my post above. Don't forget that I especially need line suggestions to replace the following original lines. One nasty surprise coming up." "Mine laid and ready" "This should make for a nice surprise" . . . So don't forget to start watching some Forged Alliances, Shadow of Revan, KOTFE, and KOTET videos on YouTube so you can help me. Link to the video and give me a time stamp of the line that you're suggesting!

Let me stop you there. Do not port the entire game from one engine to the other. They will notice, and they will shut you down, and they could shut down Deadlystream.com. Do you remember Aperion? They too wanted to port the game of k1 into a different engine. Deadlystream has allowed ported between games, but that does not mean it allows the entire game to be transfered from one to the other. @Tyvokka @Fair Strides @Snigaroo @Hassat Hunter What is the official word on this mods/admins?
