A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Author: N-DReW25 0.3.0 Beta Release Date: 31.03.2023 Installation: Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod! If you plan on using it, install the Unofficial K1CP Tweak Pack mod SECOND (This mod is optional and is NOT required for this mod to work)! Simply click on this mod's TSLPatcher.exe, you'll see 4 installation options... if you'd like the full content of what this mod has to offer you'll have to install the mod 4 times. I recommend you install Diverse Galaxy 1st, Fashion of the Old Republic 2nd, Lite of my Life 3rd and Sounds O' Plenty 4th. If you have any questions regarding these 4 installs and what they add, feel free to ask me! Description: As with many modders, I have a vision for a comprehensive NPC Overhaul. This mod is currently in a BETA stage, whilst I don't expect bugs, I do expect player criticism/feedback alongside reports of possible mod conflicts with certain mods... updates will be released to fix any possible bugs, popular player suggestions and possible hotfixes for incompatible mods. What does this mod do? This mod is a compilation of 4 mods: Diverse Galaxy, Fashion of the Old Republic, Lite of my Life and Sounds O' Plenty. These 4 mods can be used together to create an immersive NPC Overhaul which is compatible with the K1 Community Patch, or for whatever reason, you can choose to install only 3, 2 or even 1 of these mods. What are these 4 mods? Diverse Galaxy: This mod switches the heads of many NPCs in the game to prevent the 'clone' effect where you'd see the same generic head over and over in the same area, I also try to prioritize generic heads which aren't commonly seen. As Kotor only has 8 male and female generic heads this mod won't totally eliminate the clone effect though it'll be a GREAT improvement from the vanilla game! Fashion of the Old Republic: This mod switches out the clothing and armors of many of the NPCs throughout the Kotor galaxy, no longer will a bunch of NPCs wear the exact same outfit in a Cantina and no longer will every thug in the galaxy wear a standard Combat Suit. Whilst many NPCs, and even some enemies, might wear new armor they won't drop this new armor as loot meaning this mod won't affect the game's balance through overpowered loot as is the case with older NPC Overhaul type mods. Lite of my Life: Lite of my Life does exactly what Diverse Galaxy and Fashion of the Old Republic does but for the 'Lite' NPCs, the low resolution generic NPCs who act as filler NPCs to make areas feel more lived in. These Lite NPCs will wear diverse clothing and will have a range of generic heads so that they fit in with their standard NPC counterparts. Sounds O' Plenty: Sounds O' Plenty does something not many mods have done in the past, in the vanilla game the soundset (combat grunts and death moan sounds) of an NPC is based upon their appearance so Jedi have a Jedi soundset, Czerka Guards have a Czerka Soundset, Dark Jedi have a Dark Jedi soundset etc. This mod ignores that Kotor "rule" and gives random soundsets for over 200 NPCs in the game, that means you'll only hear the Republic Soldier death moan ONCE on the Endar Spire as each NPC now has their own unique sound. With these 4 mods together, over 200 NPCs will be affected (including NPCs which are commonly affected by other mods). This is why it is HIGHLY advised to install this mod (after the K1CP mod) before you install any new appearance mods. If you do this, your new NPC appearance mods will overwrite the NDP-K1 mod's changes thus allowing you to have other people's mods installed with my NDP-K1 mod still impacting 75% of the generic NPCs found in the game. Known Bugs: This mod shouldn't have bugs, but if there is Just PM me on Deadlystream. There is a bug in the TSLPatcher which happens when you install Fashion of the Old Republic where it will state there was an error in the installation. From what I can observe, this error is FALSE as the NPC that allegedly had an error was fully patched as intended. Thus far, I can see no method of fixing this bug but I am certain this bug will NOT break your game in any way. If you are a modder and believe you can fix this bug, I would welcome your fix! Incompatibilities: Please report any incompatibilities! Permissions: Do NOT claim credit for this mod and do not use assets from this mod without my permission. Thanks to: ebmar: For his attempt at debuging a problem with the TSLPatcher! SpaceAlex: For fixing the old clothing bug in his K1 Enhancement Project for which his fix was carried over to this mod! Bioware: For such an amazing game! Fred Tetra: For Kotor Tool! Stoffee: For TSLPatcher! Everyone who downloads the mod! This is a mod by Silveredge9 which I received permission to reupload due to filefront's collapse. I have marked it as incompatible with K1R, but the truth is I'm not certain whether it is or not. So long as this mod is installed prior to K1R they're likely to work together, but I am not the original author and am unwilling to make a definitive statement to this effect. The contents of this file, and its readme, have not been altered in any way from the original which Silveredge9 uploaded; the unmodified readme follows: ---------------------------------------- Knights of the Old Republic - Ajunta Pall Unique Appearance Mod v1.1 ---------------------------------------- AUTHOR: Silveredge9 EMAIL: silveredge9@hotmail.com NAME: Ajunta Pall Unique Appearance Mod V1.1 DATE RELEASED: 07/9/07 DESCRIPTION: A unique appearence for the spirit of Ajunta Pall to replace the default Dark Jedi one. Includes an option to make Ajunta semi transparent. ---------------------------------------- File Index ---------------------------------------- N_DeadeyeH01d.tga x 4 N_JediMemM08.tga x 2 kor37_freedon.utc kor37_freedonnad.dlg clear_effects.ncs heads.2DA Appearance.2DA ---------------------------------------- Comments ---------------------------------------- I always though the default Ajunta Pall character was a little uninteresting and generic, looking the same as the enemies you fight in the game. So here, at last is an cool appearance to match his cool voice. Firstly, choose if or not you want a solid Ajunta Pall, or a Semi Transparent "Ghost-Like" Ajunta Pall. And open the associated folder, either Non-Transparent, or Transparent. Then are 2 variations of the head to choose from, with ghostly eyes or with sith eyes. To use the Sith Eyes version, copy the file from the Sith Eyes folder into the override folder after the installation. Also the horrible shield effect has been removed. Should you want to retain the shield effect on Ajunta Pall, don't move 'clear_effects.ncs' or 'kor37_freedonnad.dlg' in the Override folder. ---------------------------------------- Version Updates ---------------------------------------- - Transparent Ajunta Pall option added. ---------------------------------------- How to Install This Mod ---------------------------------------- - Choose whether you want Solid or Transparent Ajunta Pall, and move the TGA files into the Override directory. - Unzip all the rest of the Zips contents into your Override directory, located in your LucasArts/SWKotOR folder. ---------------------------------------- How to UnInstall This Mod ---------------------------------------- - Remove all the listed files above from your Override folder. ---------------------------------------- Contact Info ---------------------------------------- - Email all questions or comments to: silveredge9@hotmail.com
  4. This is a ridiculously basic question from someone with no modding experience. The closest thing I found in the tutorial section was JC's ripping heads tutorial, but what I want should be far simpler than that. If this has been explained elsewhere, feel free to redirect me to the post. I'm fully expecting you all to eat me alive here. So I recently read in a mod description that by renaming the mod's clothing texture/skin (.tga) and then placing it in the Override folder, it will automatically replace the clothing texture that shares that name, regardless of the purpose the texture was made for. Does that mean you could make a copy of any existing vanilla .tga and rename it to replace any clothing texture? Say for example you want Juhani to make her entrance in her underwear to make her appear more liberated. Or say you want to replace Bastila's default underwear permanently with the slave outfit. Would you simply have to make a copy of the slave .tga and then rename it to the default underwear and just dump it in Override? How would you go about pinpointing the file you want and the file you want to replace? Does this work with any character that's not poorly rendered or that isn't an alien? Will the head stay the same, or does it have to be a texture for the same character? I've never screwed with files that much, so I wouldn't know what I'm doing without asking first. I just need confirmation that this is doable by myself without any modding tools. It's something I've always been interested in so I'm eager to hear your answers. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the kotor modders out there, from the head honchos to the one-hit wonders. I've been collecting your work for years and never really bothered to thank you. Now that I have an account, I'll be throwing 5 stars around and about.
  5. Hey guys, I'm very new here, just got a few quick questions so would appreciate any help, thanks. I'm interested in playing as an Ithorian for my next play through, so I went ahead and used the KoToR savegame editor to change my appearance to an Ithorian (Alien_Ithorian_02) but was let down to find that there were no combat animations for him. Is there a way to make a mod that uses combat animations from the default human appearance but keep the look of the Ithorian? Thanks again. TL;DR want to play Ithorian, no combat animations. Any way to fix this?
  6. Midst playthrough I decided to work on something for Loremaster Gjarshi, at least to make him somehow bit of distinctive compared to the other [Black] Rakatans inside the Black Rakatans Settlement. I might release it as one of the Legends installment. The One will also have his appearance altered. The main reason to have them wearing white clothing is no other than for variation. As black in Black Rakatan refers to their skin color, as the Loremaster himself told us - - Appears also in the screenshot is DeadMan's Quarterstaff Replacement Pack.
  7. Is it possible to alter the appearance of "the infamous assassin" Selven, to have her much-more unique looks? As we all know she was a high-profile criminal who became infamous for her extermination of the Ulgo family on Taris, and in my opinion- she could have much more "mean-evil-bad-ass" demeanor looks than she is right now. If it is possible, then can someone tell it how? I really, really wanted to change her looks 😂 Thanks!
