A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Author: N-DReW25 0.3.0 Beta Release Date: 31.03.2023 Installation: Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod! If you plan on using it, install the Unofficial K1CP Tweak Pack mod SECOND (This mod is optional and is NOT required for this mod to work)! Simply click on this mod's TSLPatcher.exe, you'll see 4 installation options... if you'd like the full content of what this mod has to offer you'll have to install the mod 4 times. I recommend you install Diverse Galaxy 1st, Fashion of the Old Republic 2nd, Lite of my Life 3rd and Sounds O' Plenty 4th. If you have any questions regarding these 4 installs and what they add, feel free to ask me! Description: As with many modders, I have a vision for a comprehensive NPC Overhaul. This mod is currently in a BETA stage, whilst I don't expect bugs, I do expect player criticism/feedback alongside reports of possible mod conflicts with certain mods... updates will be released to fix any possible bugs, popular player suggestions and possible hotfixes for incompatible mods. What does this mod do? This mod is a compilation of 4 mods: Diverse Galaxy, Fashion of the Old Republic, Lite of my Life and Sounds O' Plenty. These 4 mods can be used together to create an immersive NPC Overhaul which is compatible with the K1 Community Patch, or for whatever reason, you can choose to install only 3, 2 or even 1 of these mods. What are these 4 mods? Diverse Galaxy: This mod switches the heads of many NPCs in the game to prevent the 'clone' effect where you'd see the same generic head over and over in the same area, I also try to prioritize generic heads which aren't commonly seen. As Kotor only has 8 male and female generic heads this mod won't totally eliminate the clone effect though it'll be a GREAT improvement from the vanilla game! Fashion of the Old Republic: This mod switches out the clothing and armors of many of the NPCs throughout the Kotor galaxy, no longer will a bunch of NPCs wear the exact same outfit in a Cantina and no longer will every thug in the galaxy wear a standard Combat Suit. Whilst many NPCs, and even some enemies, might wear new armor they won't drop this new armor as loot meaning this mod won't affect the game's balance through overpowered loot as is the case with older NPC Overhaul type mods. Lite of my Life: Lite of my Life does exactly what Diverse Galaxy and Fashion of the Old Republic does but for the 'Lite' NPCs, the low resolution generic NPCs who act as filler NPCs to make areas feel more lived in. These Lite NPCs will wear diverse clothing and will have a range of generic heads so that they fit in with their standard NPC counterparts. Sounds O' Plenty: Sounds O' Plenty does something not many mods have done in the past, in the vanilla game the soundset (combat grunts and death moan sounds) of an NPC is based upon their appearance so Jedi have a Jedi soundset, Czerka Guards have a Czerka Soundset, Dark Jedi have a Dark Jedi soundset etc. This mod ignores that Kotor "rule" and gives random soundsets for over 200 NPCs in the game, that means you'll only hear the Republic Soldier death moan ONCE on the Endar Spire as each NPC now has their own unique sound. With these 4 mods together, over 200 NPCs will be affected (including NPCs which are commonly affected by other mods). This is why it is HIGHLY advised to install this mod (after the K1CP mod) before you install any new appearance mods. If you do this, your new NPC appearance mods will overwrite the NDP-K1 mod's changes thus allowing you to have other people's mods installed with my NDP-K1 mod still impacting 75% of the generic NPCs found in the game. Known Bugs: This mod shouldn't have bugs, but if there is Just PM me on Deadlystream. There is a bug in the TSLPatcher which happens when you install Fashion of the Old Republic where it will state there was an error in the installation. From what I can observe, this error is FALSE as the NPC that allegedly had an error was fully patched as intended. Thus far, I can see no method of fixing this bug but I am certain this bug will NOT break your game in any way. If you are a modder and believe you can fix this bug, I would welcome your fix! Incompatibilities: Please report any incompatibilities! Permissions: Do NOT claim credit for this mod and do not use assets from this mod without my permission. Thanks to: ebmar: For his attempt at debuging a problem with the TSLPatcher! SpaceAlex: For fixing the old clothing bug in his K1 Enhancement Project for which his fix was carried over to this mod! Bioware: For such an amazing game! Fred Tetra: For Kotor Tool! Stoffee: For TSLPatcher! Everyone who downloads the mod! Legal: THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT SUPPORTED BY BIOWARE/OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT, LUCASARTS, DISNEY OR ANY LICENSERS/SPONSORS OF THE MENTIONED COMPANIES. View File Smuggler's Deluxe [K1] A Mod for Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Author: N-DReW25 1.0.0 Release Date: 06.03.2023 Installation: Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod! If you plan on using it, install the Unofficial K1CP Tweak Pack mod SECOND (This mod is optional and is NOT required for this mod to work)! It is HIGHLY recommended you install the NPC Diversity Pack mod BEFORE this mod. This mod will change the appearances of over 100 NPCs in Kotor, with Smuggler's Deluxe these two mods together will further enhance the NPCs of Kotor! Once you're ready to install Smuggler's Deluxe simply click on this mod's TSLPatcher.exe, click install, sit back and watch the TSLPatcher do its magic. Description: Smuggler NPCs are generic NPCs who wear an iconic jacket, for a better description of a Kotor "smuggler" just picture Tanis Venn and his orange jacket... that jacket model/texture is referred to as "smuggler" in the game files. In the vanilla game you'll see only 3 Smuggler NPC variants using the White Commoner 01, Black Commoner 01 and Asian Commoner 01 heads. What does this mod do? It adds Smuggler variants for all 14 male generic commoner heads inserting them randomly into the Kotor galaxy! Do be aware that whilst the game files refer to this model/texture as "Smuggler" the NPCs given these new smuggler jackets are not actually smugglers. As far as this mod is concerned these smuggler jackets are simply normal jackets. As this mod is intended to be an Addon for the NPC Diversity Pack mod, if you use both mods together this mod will further diversify the NPCs you encounter in the Kotor galaxy! Known Bugs: This mod shouldn't have bugs, but if there is Just PM me on Deadlystream. Incompatibilities: Incompatible with any mods which modify the textures "N_Smuggler01.tga", "N_Smuggler02.tga" and "N_Smuggler04.tga". The reason why I modified these 3 textures is because the vanilla Smuggler outfit textures show Caucasian flesh at the hands (creating a bug where black NPCs would have Caucasian hands). Whilst the K1CP mod attempted to add skin tones for Asian and Black Smugglers, I chose to replace these 'skinned' areas with gloves for the time being. Please report any further incompatibilities! Permissions: Do NOT claim credit for this mod and do not use assets from this mod without my permission. Thanks to: Bioware: For such an amazing game! Fred Tetra: For Kotor Tool! Hi I wanted to have talks about the Generic Heads like Batu Rem and Ergeron and also Gerlon Two-Fingers also etc other character I'd name and also used 1000 times over and also the Kel Algwinn and Kadir we also have Garouk and Sunry and often we see Zelka Forn and Niklos and Dia and also Kelba Yurt Generic Heads and you know we see a number of them throughout KOTOR used a thousand times like @N-DReW25 did actually tell me about before I know a lot of you for example well I'd say see these heads they used 1000 times over and over again I'd been thinking would it ever be possible if we actually created new character heads as replacements for most Generic Heads we didn't like seeing over a thousand times over twice in a row, I know I might say the most silliest answers here but I do have this one brillent idea what if in the KOTOR games we did make half a bunch of characters with newish heads created either based on real life actors or etc in paticular that would be cool to model of course I mean you got to take my word for it I am being respectful in my words over characters that could use new heads for the future in KOTOR Mod community so half a bunch of characters if you didn't like generic heads can have newly created ones made up themselfs even for the game and it can be for anybody who is not a fond of generic heads that get seen 1000 times over in KOTOR I and II, Well been thinking perhaps we can create new heads for the future in this modding community perhaps based on actors from films we are fond of or not or of course classic actors etc, for example I have discribed in KOTOR II that Mandalorian Xarga is based off Steve McQueen a classic actor and oneday will make a mod of him maybe helmetless and show his face to the game audience of his Steve McQueen head gosh I bet Steve in heaven be so proud of his character I only wish Steve McQueen been in Star Wars he would have been a good actor. Back to what I am saying so yeah with generic heads I think it would be a good idea for some since many or some people do get complaintes lately from what I hear about generic that goes around, dont' get me wrong it's okay I mean I still love the game but I decided to say somethings about this topic because I felt it would be a brillent idea to actually make good heads for characters to replace often mostly random generics in the game itself and we would start that in future. I have left several images to show you what I am talking about. You do have to give me credit that I am suggesting ideas that could sound like a brillent idea for many in future anyway leave your thaught in the comment section below and tell me what you think should happen. Regards Colby. 🙂
