  1. Only if enough people request it. It seems that would be a lot of work for something so minor.
  2. Anyone else having problems uploading to Photobucket today?

  3. It is ONLY the texture that you see before you click on the map. It is not the map where you choose the actual planets you go to. If you look closely, it was actually made up of screen captures of the full sized KotOR2 Galaxy Map - cropped and resized. So folks looking closely for Manaan and Kashyyyk won't find them. And since I didn't have M4-78 installed - as I did this in 1.8.1, you can't see M4-78 on there either. Darth Paulus: The positions of the planets follow the vanilla set up. I don't use that Galaxy Map fix mod so my screen captures wouldn't have used that line-up. I don't buy the positions that were used in that mod because the planets obviously aren't to scale, for one. Secondly, there are several different maps and who's to say that one is more "canon" than the other.
  4. The pictures above are actually "Pictures of the Day" that were posted over at KOTOR Filefront. I can't get permission for some of them and besides, I'll need more than one for an animation of each planet. They are nice though . . . I want to learn a few more things about the TXI files before I try and make a tutorial for doing this. I'd like to compile a list of what some of the commands actually do. 1. Landscape pictures are what I'm going for. 2. The skyboxes can changed out. I'd like to keep the rest of the textures as intact as possible. Feel free to PM suggestions you might have though! 3. Let's say 1024 x 768. 4. I'm not particularly in a rush so let's just say a month for now. (If it takes longer, I'll update this entry.) If I get all the submissions I need, I'll alter the original post so there's not a request in it anymore. A note: just try one planet at a time. That way, when you PM with the planet you're thinking of doing, I can tell you if that planet is already being worked on. (BTW, if you have my home e-mail address, you can forgo the PM and just e-mail the home email)
  5. Yeah . . . that would be porting. So that's out. Holocrons would most likely be for Jedi (or Sith) masters that are long dead. Consult wikipedia for examples. Then you can cast anyone you want to do voices for them - if that's the way you're going.
  6. Some of you may have seen my very first mod posted today - my Animated Galaxy Map - right here on Deadly Stream. After playing this game for several years, it's been interesting seeing it from a different point of view, of someone that's posted a mod. It's been pretty exciting. However, it's time to start up my next project. I'm going to stay on familiar ground and continue animating monitors. The monitors I'm specifically talking about right now are the ones that surround the Galaxy Map on the bulkheads of the cockpit. (There are also other places those animated maps can turn up as well, including the Ebon Hawk and even behind Admiral Onasi when he's talking to Grenn via holo-commumicator.) It's my intention to have at least one of the screens to display views of the planets you could possibly land on in the game. I plan to create a few different animated monitor packs - one to cover each planet. The reason for doing this is to assist folks making "machinima" of either game to have a little more vibrant Ebon Hawk "set" to "shoot their movie" in. Of course, other folks may find an interest in using such a thing . . . so much the better! Here's where the request part comes in . . . I need to get "beauty shots" of the various planets from an aerial view for both games. Interior shots won't be helpful. They would also have to have no characters on visible figures in the frames. Some examples below - which won't be excluded in this mod - are the type of thing I'm looking for. This would exclude the Unknown World (as it is unknown before you crash on it) and Taris (as you can't return there after you get the Ebon Hawk.) Since you can't return to Peragus II with the Ebon Hawk for the same reasons as Taris, I also won't need pictures on that one either. I think I've got the Star Forge covered, as well. Of course, anyone whose pictures get used in the mod would get a mention in the credits and you'd have my personal thanks. If you think you've got a good idea for such a thing, drop me a PM and mention which planet you'd like to try out on. Thanks for listening.
  7. I don't recommend that Revan's holocron should be able to be located. Seeing as it was already written that it is located on Lehon (or Rakata Prime or the Unknown World, if you prefer) and you can't get to that planet in KotOR2 without recreating that planet, I'd skip that one. The others certainly seem like good ideas though!
  8. View File TSL Animated Galaxy Map It had to be updated eventually . . . Here's my first very small mod. Updated. Yet again. AUTHOR: Sith Holocron ORIGINAL RELEASE: 13 SEP 2012 UPDATED RELEASE: 24 DEC 2012 CATHALAN RELEASE: 28 MAR 2016 COMBINED RELEASE: 08 APR 2016 GAMES: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords Description: ============ The Galaxy Map texture of the Ebon Hawk was originally sized at 128x128. The texture is now sized to 512x512. In addition to the resolution bump, the actual texture is now animated. As the texture file is named the same in both KotOR games, the mod should be usable in both games. However: I don't suggest using this with Knights of the Old Republic 1, if seeing planets only seen in Knights of the Old Republic 2 causes any measure of distress. (Use the KOTOR version instead found here. (http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/724-kotor1-animated-galaxy-map/) There are now FOUR different versions that you can use! Version 1: The original planets as laid out in the original un-modded game but animated and at higher resolution. Version 2: In addition to the original planets, I've added Coruscant and M4-78 to the map. Version 3: Mostly like Version 2 but with Cathalan added to the planet roster. Version 4: This is the "April Fool's Version" of the Galaxy Map as described in this post. (http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/4304-april-fools-an-exciting-mod-to-appear-on-deadly-stream-soon/?do=findComment&comment=44585) Condensed Description for Version 4 as follows: =============================================== April Fools! I still think the orange people in the Cathalan mod are ridiculous. My mockery for the Cathalan mod is on full display in this Galaxy Map. (See the News announcement for April 1st, 2016 for screenshots.) 11. "Communication" and "between" appear to be spelled incorrectly.
  12. I thought Exile007 was very close to release though.
  13. Since Varsity Puppet retired and isn't working on Malachor VI anymore, does that mean you'll never use TSLRCM 1.8?
  14. I believe both Bead-V and Varsity Puppet both took a shot at it. You might want to ask Bead-V how far he got with it.
  15. Headed to Hssiss now

  16. Uh oh . . . SH made a wall of text post in the "Is TSLRCM 'canon'?" thread. And I did it when very very tired.

I am scared to click the link ;P

  17. Oh boy . . . the canon discussion again. Let me take a crack at this even though it's late over here right now. Let's try looking at this from a different viewpoint. Prepare for a wall of text. a) The game is released in 2004. It was created by Obsidian which according to many reports didn't have the time to give the game the final polish it apparently needed before release. They were denied to opportunity to do a content patch which pretty hosed their attempts to fix the plot issues and many of the bugs that were there on release. Yes, there were official patches but those were mostly minor bug-fixes. Hopefully we can all agree at least on this much. The formation of canon: Many of the those on the canon bandwagon like to site the "Knights of Old Republic Campaign Guide" that came out in 2008 as the be-all and end-all as the canon source. It's a nice book. I own it. But made the authors of this book the arbiters of canon-hood.? Chris Avellone (with Ferret Baudoin) wrote Knights of the Old Republic II. The authors of this book were Rodney Thompson, Sterling Hershey, John Jackson Miller, and Abel G. Peña. I would think that canon would come from the authors of the game not from the authors of the book. But you cry out: Lucas authorized the sale of the book? I'm getting to that argument presently. We can also agree that it doesn't quite get everything right either. It states that the Handmaiden was supposed to accompany the Exile on her journey. You trying doing that in an un-modded game. c) SWTOR Canon: Meetra Surik is what they call the Exile in the "The Old Republic" game which came out last year. (I'll not debate the merits or disappointments of that game here as this is a TSL thread. There are other threads here on this site for that already.) That game too is an official product. Well, there's all this stuff in the game about that character and none of that was written by Chris Avellone. Doesn't that make it not canon? Before anyone pounces on me for being a TOR hater, I own that too. . . d) Continuing on canon: According to Desmond's definition of canon, it could be argued that the entire un-modded game of TSL as-is deviates from the established canon of the first game. Let's be honest here: there was a lot of retroactive tinkering with the Revan character in TSL. I'd argue this but I think that Scorchy explained that very eloquently in his walkthrough of TSL. It's a very long read but well worth the time. e) There's also debate on what "Star Wars canon" is as well. Have you ever seen the Wikipedia page on it? It's a product of a maddened mind. The general gist of seems to to boil down to "only the Star Wars feature films are canon." Who is to say your concept of canon is superior to anyone else's. Desmond, you didn't start this off by asking if it's canon but you continued the conversation on it so I'm directing this at you. Which canon? What is your own defintion of canon? There's too many variables here at work for any project - even if it was released by LucasArts - for it to fall into all areas of canon. It's impossible. Instead of this thread getting derailed further - and making me split the thread into an excruciating discussion on canon and the original line of thinking - I make you a proposal. Play TSL through according to your nebulous definition of canon and then try out the mod. And finally: Just remember . . . it's just a game.
  18. It won't let me do it. You might have to do an text update and put in the same mod file. I'll approve as soon as I see it.

  19. Scorchy's guide has been been my own guideline on how to pester the team to include as much cut content as possible.
  20. It is non canon but many elements do come from game material. If you're purely obsessed with canon, don't download M4-78. That's the reason it wasn't included in TSLRCM: added content. Oh, you want someone from Obisidian to give you some advice? Here goes: A) I'm not the one asking the question. By no means should anyone infer that I'm not for the M4-78 Enhancement Project. Those on the team already know that for certain.
  21. I'll propose the idea that one person very important person with TSL approves of TSLRCM and that would be Chris Avellone, lead writer of TSL. He even helped notify folks of the TSLRCM 1.8 existence when he tweeted. If the lead writer approves of the mod, suggests playing the game with the mod, and gives kudos to the team . . . well doesn't that speak for itself? Mostly through diving through all of the data on the game discs. However, references to some of the cut content can be found in interviews with the creators. Keep in mind that some of the cut content was only cut due to spelling errors in the code. However, is it really fair to say what would've happened in that perfect world where Obsidian had the time to finish making the game according to their original conception? Have you played the original un-modded game all the way through to the end? Have you played it with TSLRCM 1.8 all the way through? After you play both through entirely, I'd be interested in your opinion. Keep in mind that in order to play by YOUR rules, you wouldn't be able to touch any other mod besides TSLRCM as it wouldn't be canon.
  22. My original entry has now been updated. BTW, this thread should NOT be used for requests. I suggest using the General Kotor/TSL Modding section for that. I hope some day it is finished too. I voiced a few lines in that mod too. (And IIRC, they were pretty funny.)
  23. Is anyone interested in Drewton releasing his mods?

    1. Vriff

      Vriff

I found him on twitter and youtube. I've asked for him to release his work, and last time he came onto Holowan, resumed for 3 days and left. Last I checked, he hadn't been on twitter/youtube in months.

    2. Sith Holocron

      Sith Holocron

He was last on Lucasforum near the beginning of last month. He last posted on Twitter (https://twitter.com/ABDrewton) on August 25th. I leave it to you to choose the method of how to contact him. The last I read from him on Twitter was that his main hold up was a need for a UV mapper.

    3. Darth Hayze

      Darth Hayze

So is there any possibility of getting in contact with him, seeing if he'll release the TSLMIM in Beta form, or somesuch?
