  1. Oh hey That was my first mod. If you're having trouble finding it, I can search my vast archives and upload it here to DeadlyStream. Or just remake it I suppose. I'll try to have something shortly. God bless.
  2. I haven't found that the effects are too distracting, in fact some are so minor I'd hardly notice if I hadn't read the list. The only piece of changed music I noticed was the Battle of the Heroes playing during Vader and Obi-Wan's duel, which I did find out of place at first, but I quite like now. His general philosophy is to update poor matte paintings, fix visual inconsistencies, but especially in A New Hope, he added the hologram screen during the Death Star attack. Also plenty more TIE fighters during that battle. I think the Empire Strikes Back is more grounded, I think the only major CGI change he made was changing the Emperor's appearance so it looks more like ROTJ emperor than ROTS emperor. Everything else I think was extensive matte repainting, and creating miniatures to increase the fidelity of the shots. But I digress... I am generally in favor of the CGI changes, but boy oh boy do they need another update. Unless I'm missing something, they're still using the renders from the 2004 DVDs, right? Our technology and lighting technology has gotten a lot better, could do with a redo
  3. Have you ever heard of Adywan's versions? He does a lot of these types of changes although I'm not sure on some of the specifics. He has A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back released so far. As someone who enjoys the prequels, I've softened to the inclusion of Hayden Christensen's appearance, although they should at least make him look older
  4. Oh snap, I have a 1070 as well, but haven’t run into such issues. But also, I don’t have the Steam version. Hmmmmmmm Perhaps I should investigate and see if I can reproduce
  5. Some of these are good ideas from a gameplay perspective, but would be hard to do with the available resources
  6. To be fair, the only way to get animated models was via placeables back then. Perhaps some of these mods would benefit from a revisit.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it sounds like the implication you're making here is that Hassat Hunter can only understand things if they're explained in a very simplistic way (i.e. as if he were 5 years old), and that he is entitled (i.e. People don't owe you their free time) If you ask me, sounds like that's bordering on toxic, which is not to say that you're the only contributor to that. I admit I could be fully wrong, but wanted to point it out so you have the chance to explain more clearly, lest things go south again. EDIT: I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO BE FRIENDS :'(
  8. Nicely done, my friend! LET THE TOOL RACES BEGIN
  9. Yeah I get ya. What I was trying to explain is that I don't myself or others being strawmanned as a racist/sexist bigots, but didn't realize that the vast majority of people were not accusing that in the first place (rather a vitriolic minority). There are however, still many accusations of being whiny, hypocritical fan boys being tossed around though. And lots of accusations of shilling for Disney. Still doesn't help. But I'll leave it at that. Yeah I don't understand all these claims of "first instance of cultural diversity" in Star Wars either. This is another reminder that I've always liked peripheral Star Wars stories rather than the movies. Perhaps I should stick to those.
  10. I have to apologize for backing the racist/sexist/bigot media narrative from earlier. The media certainly does do that, but in reference to Star Wars, I think I am conflating specific interviews/interactions/comments, and building up an image in my mind of TLJ champions strawmanning the reasoning of TLJ detractors as frivolous, hypocritical, nonsensical and mean-spirited. Of course I hate when racist/sexist/bigot/homophobe is thrown around lightly, and yet here I am doing it myself! "For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." (Sorry Hassat, we have to cancel our short-lived social club). I do remember reading an article very early on that specifically blamed the low fan rating of TLJ on RT as a "directed hate campaign" or "hacking the system", which attempted to erase any legitimate criticisms people have had. That may have been where this originated, but I should have known from the get go that even giving in to that would eat me up. I see Mutilator mentioned some of those above. I guess what I'm saying is, I regret and ask for forgiveness for any contributions I've made to aggravating this situation. I just want to talk Star Wars, man! I don't mind disagreements, but I guess I'd rather try to find things we have in common rather than keep stoking the Disney Star Wars flames!
  11. So, is the implication that if you don't like The Last Jedi, that you're toxic to the community? If so, you do realize language like that is contributing to the toxicity, right? (To be clear, this is a question, not an accusation. If the premise of the first is not true, then the second question is inconsequential) I think that's what bothers me more than the movie itself. I didn't hate The Last Jedi, but I didn't really enjoy it either. I think I understand the reasons on both sides, I just agree with more of the points that argue that it's not as good (at the moment at least). But the dominant (media) narrative is that The Last Jedi is objectively good, and if you don't like it, you're a racist, sexist, whiny fanboy or a bot. That's the narrative. No nuance. If it's clear there's one opinion that's being more misrepresented than the other, I wonder which one it is...? Which reminds me, Hassat, when is the next meeting of the Racist Sexist Whiny Fanboy Star Wars Bot Society? I'm not sure I'll make it to this next one. (to be clear, I should point out this a joke, since again, nuance is apparently not a thing. And no, this in itself is not a dig at people who don't seem to understand nuance)
  12. I don't think that posting that video made the point you think it did. Please let's stay on topic. Enjoy another Game of Thrones Lightsaber fight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCfhwqk9VxE
  13. I can think of many worse candidates, but if we're doing writing duos only... Phil Lord and Chris Miller - Extreme Movie - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - The Lego movies The Wachowskis - The Matrix, but also the second and third - Speed Racer - Cloud Atlas Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci - Star Trek and Star Trek into Darkness - Transformers 1 and 2 - Amazing Spider-man 2 Mileage may vary, but I'd still take Game of Thrones (the subpar seasons) over those entries. That said, you might be right it is probably outside of their wheelhouse, which is why I'm hoping whatever they're working on is based off of existing material. Could go either way though.
  14. You're right the writing has gone down in the past few seasons, but it's still pretty great. I'd still take Game of Thrones season 5, 6 and 7 over any of new Star Wars movies. Re: Prequels I will not argue that they're paragons of excellent storytelling, and I won't argue that they're "good movies" (that's a good way to start a fight). One good thing that they did give us though is some pretty solid world-building. and they propelled a lot of our favorite Star Wars games. Anyways, they have experience working on a show that has a considerable amount of world-building and I think that bodes well for their fit for Star Wars in general.
  15. Okay so this just filled me with a huge boost of confidence. https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-makers-of-game-of-thrones-are-writing-and-producing-1822774890 They must really be scrambling for nerd-cred after the reaction to The Last Jedi and their supposed lack of confidence in the Han Solo movie. If they were ever to touch Knights of the Old Republic, these are the guys I would want doing it. If you're still not excited, then at least enjoy this youtube clip Also, there are more of these, but be careful which ones you look at, because they are spoilery
  16. I don't think it's necessarily disregard for quality due to a lack of understanding, more likely due a lack of time and resources. Still, I agree lightsabers are the important part of a Star Wars game, and seems like that was a bad thing to overlook
  17. What are these other issues? I know of the black line in the middle of the face one, but not others
  18. Whoever makes a mod to replace the gizka with Ugandan Knuckles gets my nomination for mod of the year 2018

    1. Canderis

      Canderis

I'm still waiting on the porg mod!

    2. jc2
    3. L0ki194

      L0ki194

And for extra effect, change the gizka noises to the clicking sounds.

  19. I think this will really make a difference on my next playthrough. Although I will probably have to re-organize the hierarchy for my Atris tweak model, so that it will look good in holograms
  20. Just marvelous, work! The screens look phenomenal
  21. Not sure what you're seeing, but I see a parking lot in both the background and in the sunglasses reflection
