I really am not sure at this point. Try installing KOTOR2 onto your C:\ drive, make sure the folder is zeroed, nothing left in there. steam uninstall will leave things in there normally. (Backup your saves)

I didn't account for that! Thank you! o_o ...However, the same issue is happening. And just for good measure when it didn't work after following what you said, I did a clean reinstall of the game and mods, and THEN tried it. Same result. I don't get it at all. I'm so sorry for the trouble. ,_, What else could affect this? I was recently forced to use Windows 11 after a PC repair. Despite everything I did to clean that up, there's probably still stuff left that could affect things for all I know.

Editing the Imperial Knight Armor Mod with GIMP
redrebelzero replied to redrebelzero's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
I attempted that. my problem was no matter how i colored the texture, whether it was paint, bucket fill, or cloning, etc. then texture still came out mismatched. I even tried adjusting the saturation, color temperature, using the foreground tool to try to isolate the symbol and remove it, free selecting the logo and deleting it outright. Im stuck. -
Thank you for reporting it. This was because there are two character templates for Telos Citadel Station's east residential module and cantina respectively, while my mod applied Harra's unique appearance to his character template in the residential module only. I have updated the mod to 1.1.2 to fix it, but if you're already in the middle of your playthrough, you need to reload an earlier save, likely before you visit the cantina for the first time, for the change to take effect, since the game registers character template data since the first time you visit a module, and the data will be persistent in your subsequent visits.

ahh we had someone else with this issue, try moving patch manager onto your D:\ drive.

Editing the Imperial Knight Armor Mod with GIMP
DarthParametric replied to redrebelzero's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
You'd need to edit the mod's texture, presumably a TGA given the age of the mod, in an image editor like Photoshop, Gimp, etc. There will presumably be two separate textures, one for females and one for males. -

Hello there, Never posted on a forum before so bear with me. Ive been trying to change the armor color of the imperial knight armor mod that models the zeison sha/jal shey style, as well as remove the imperial logo altogether. My goal was to change the armor from red to republic orange. Is there anyone that can do this for me or help walk me through this process? i have tried for the past week but i am doing something wrong. Here is the only link i could find alongside images of both the republic armor im attempting to copy and the imperial knight armor. Help me KOTOR modding community, you are my only hope. Hello! I get the following error message when trying to use the Open command from the menu: "Exception in thread AWT-EventQueue-0" My opearating system is Windows 11 and I am using the latest version of DeNCS (1.02). The error happens as soon as I select the command. I don't even get to choose what file I want to open. But funnily enough, I tried again after dropping the file instead and the problem was no longer there. Cheers!

can you take a screenshot of your game directory? and also a screenshot of what your KPM looks like after you press apply? I just tested it myself and it's working fine for me. The patch isn't applying at all on your device.

Done, but... the problem was still continuing. I don't understand why nothing's fixing it, when it feels like it should be. >_< Is it possible it's anything from my computer, or anything?

Kind of a weird head-canon/fanfic idea, but Mandalore the Ultimate is the future Darth Nihilus. I have no idea how to make that work though, haha.

I think it could have been a cool reveal/bit of random lore you could find that the True Sith had something to do with cutting off the Rakata to the force. Would be another way to show much big of a threat they are and also tie things back into KOTOR I since II pretty much ignores them altogether. Of course if the Exile was also the protagonist of this hypothetical KOTOR III is could have been a cool way to give some personal connection as well.

If you're referring to the model variation, there are 255 model variations available for each item class. It's possible to add new item types with a different one but otherwise the same properties in most cases if you really need to. I note which ones I use in my readme files and hope there isn't a conflict.

it shouldn't let you apply this to any exe other than the GOG one. something is definitely wrong Download and try with this older version of KPM: https://github.com/LaneDibello/Kotor-Patch-Manager/releases/tag/0.5.2

Done. Huh. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong with it. I did that, installed it, still the problem persists. So I tried uninstalling the patch and swapping the EXEs again, and then reinstalling the patch. Didn't fix the problem either on the original EXE, converted EXE, or the GOG EXE. But the GOG one for some reason now freezes on certain dialogue. (Found it on one specific line from Disciple when testing recruiting him.)

It occurred to me that I've never asked (and I don't see any posts about it either). There are a finite number of numeric IDs for items added to the game, like 99 in total. What steps do people take when setting the numeric ID of their modded items to avoid overlapping with other mods? Do you just match against the mods you use personally? Is there a list somewhere of which IDs are available? Do you pick whatever and assume the user can adjust the files locally if there's a conflict?

Yeah, unless I missed something in another folder. >_<

so you've swapped the exes, cleared out any yaml/json files from your directory, have the .gui in your override, and are launching with *just* fullpartyselect?

Thank you very much. I really don't understand what we're missing here, though. It's still not fixing the issue. >_<
