  1. It means the default location for the install in a 64 bit system is the "(X86)" folder. That folder doesn't exist on 32 bit Operating systems since everything is X86, so the folder is just "C:\"
  2. I used the Instant Messenger a lot way back when, so I believe you. However, Sith Holocron has a point about the sheer amount of topics you've created in the course of a few weeks which is basically why this particular thread exists. We all want to create the biggest mod we can, but something of the scale you're currently undertaking would best be documented in private messages (To avoid forum bloat) or in one dedicated topic (To also avoid forum bloat)
  3. Wait... 2015?! What kind of shenanigans are these??? I haven't seen one post by them before now.. Well how about that.. Yeah, these rules were created well after they've been around. My apologies, SH..
  4. @Sith Holocron Is there a way to crop replies? I've always just hit the Quote button multiple times, and deleted the extra text, but that is sort of an esoteric thing to give a new person grief about. I get that you're trying to keep the forum clean, but going after one person for their multiple posts is only going to engender conflict and ultimately poison the well of Good Will we've cultivated on this site so far. @Nevile Honestly I was expecting your various threads to be deleted as they took up more and more space, but if merging them is an option, then I would highly recommend doing so if you can. I can't blame you for not knowing these rules (Unless they were stated explicitly in the Rules in which case, I apologize to the Admins for not knowing). However, now that you've been informed, it would be quite beneficial to yourself and the community if you do something about removing multiple threads on the same topic. Whether explicitly stated or not, those are the rules which we follow so that one person doesn't monopolize the forums. Lastly, I can see that Sith Specter was at the very least agreeable with you using those assets and potentially doing alterations on them. However, that post alone doesn't prove whether there were any other further conditions or if Sith Specter feels the same way now as was felt in the time that screencap was taken, so it'd remove any doubts if you could just send Sith Specter a PM and then we can hear from them personally whether you were allowed.
  5. We could seriously solve this whole thing if we asked Sithspecter right now. If indeed you got permission from them, it shouldn't be hard to verify if that is true. In case you never got an answer (which I doubt), I found the old archive zip Qui Gon Glenn saved https://deadlystream.com/topic/6913-lucasforums-tutorial-archive/ And the entire tutorial directory backed up here http://lucasforumsarchive.com/forum/595 It's generally my personal experience to post a WIP thread one time and then fill it with your ideas as you have them, which will allow time for people to respond to them if they can without bloating the forum. Additionally, you want any specific requests for help to be as concise as possible. A Step-By-Step solution is incredibly rare, as that requires other users to be there to respond to each and every question as you figure it out. So, if you want legitimate help it's far more advantageous to do your own research so you're able to ask specific things like "Which tools do I use to manipulate GFF files?" or "Which 2DA files do I need to change for clothing changes". This way, you're not spending other people's time more than you have to (Most modders also have full-time employment, and modding has to take a back seat) And the last point I can't stress enough, just because you get no responses, it isn't something personal. People have lives and if you're serious about modding, you have to be willing to wait weeks or even a month on rare occasions to get a constructive reply; and if you do get a reply offering to help, treat it like the amazing thing that it is and respect that other person's time. They are doing this for free and shouldn't be demanded of: no exceptions.
  6. I see. I just looked up both of those upscaling techniques, and it might be easier to vary which is used on which type. For example, ESERGAN was trained to use Manga images (Which probably explains the oil painting results) Metal is notoriously difficult if the basic texture doesn't have enough detail, since the algorithms tend to soften out contrast and metal requires high contrast to look right. For that example you showed on the second to last photo, the contrast and detail could be remade in Photoshop with a combination of layer effects and gray overlays for the metal edges. However, I understand that this would interfere with how quickly you accomplish these, so hopefully there's just an AI algorithm out there that can handle metal rather than adjusting them by hand. If not, at the very least your work on smaller things like switches and more natural decorations like the Kashyyk greenery will be able to be upscaled. Otherwise, one technique that I've learned which works pretty well for metal is in Photoshop. Filter - Diffuse (Set to Anisotropic) This is a result from the Player Armor in Kotor 2.
  7. Which upscale program are you using? I know some of them come with tweakable features, and while they generally sharpen fine details quite well, the algorithm will sometimes guess a little too much on what gradients look like and you're left with that oil painting look. You could also open the before and after in Photoshop and remove the strange patterning by using a mask layer. (Gimp also has similar features, but I'm not as familiar with it) Always good to see Republic Commando getting a fresh coat of paint, though.
  8. I'm currently learning C++ to finally learn how to use TSLPatcher to pack mods. (Without just using the buttons ;) )

Any advice that helped you get to know TSLPatcher like how to use, tokens, GFF data?

  9. If you're going to be a "Student" I'd suggest not aggravating and insulting someone who owes you nothing and was trying to help.

“The files and images that were hosted on the Hub were not backed up” says the message on the site.

The question is: Why? Loss of countless mods with PcGamesMods, FileFront, LucasForums should have been a good enough lesson.

Filefront and Lucasforums had some time to prepare for. They probably figured they'd get similar warning instead of something like the server room literally burning down.

It does hold a bit of a message though.. back up your information if you can, because it could all disappear overnight no matter how secure you think it is.

  10. I was concerned there was some sort of Phishing related reason. Strange that it brings up something like this now of all times.
  11. Yeah. I either forgot to update the tag, or my last submission happened before the tag existed. It should be compatible with literally anything other than a mod that changes his specific MDL MDX path (Or replaces those files) -Tag fixed- Please let me know if anyone has any more issues, or if they have compatibility problems.
  12. It will require a new model. I've gotten decent results, but they pale in comparison to just rebuilding it from scratch.
When I was running the game windowed at 1024x768 on my Widescreen monitor, everything was horribly stretched. This mod fixed it perfectly. Unfortunately, my Icons are massive but I don't think there's much that can be done to fix that since I'm using a small resolution. -And upon further inspection, my Character Portraits are still stretched.. Everything else works fine however, so It's not a huge deal, just something I want to note so users aren't mislead.
  13. Juhani is only in Kotor 1, so yes it has to be compatible. There are two sections in the Downloads, one for Kotor 1 and one for TSL (Kotor 2). Since this mod is in the Kotor 1 section, it is compatible.
  14. It is only compatible with Kotor 1, since you can't get Juhani in your party in Kotor 2.

    Tests

Some progress on my various projects in a visual format.
  16. From the album: Tests

As you can probably tell, I've only been able to test Taris, but I plan to try it in every level in the game to ensure everything looks right across the board.
  17. From the album: Tests

Trying to get as many different environments to see how the preset affects them. I noticed that at Zelka's, the colors seem to get a little saturated but hopefully that can be mitigated in the future.

    Reshade Tests Pazaak

    From the album: Tests

Just a nice semi-shadowed scene where the lighting adds a nice cinematic mood. (I believe some of the NPCs were the heavily improved versions from Kainzorus Prime's Overhaul mod)
  19. From the album: Tests

Showing off Sith Holocron's awesome cantina sign textures while trying to get a shot of Mission in rimlight.

    Reshade Tests Lights

    From the album: Tests

All of the light bloom effects in action. I know a lot of people hate the copious bloom effect usage in Reshade and ENBs, but I tried to keep it as reasonable as I could and only have it there to create the effect of actual light fixtures rather than blinding the player for no good reason.
  21. From the album: Tests

The visual effects on Rodian thugs while using Sith Holocron's excellent Cantina sign textures.

    Reshade Tests Scene

    From the album: Tests

Testing this alongside Kexikus' fantastic Skybox and Backdrops. (I also altered the Baremetal cubemap a bit to bring out a bit more interesting reflections)

I really liked this one for how the new shaders create this sort of rim lighting effect on Carth.
