  1. HEADS UP: Part of an email I just received:
  2. In that case, I'd advise in setting compatibility to Windows 7 or XP and trying that. Short of that, send me the save via PM and I'll be sure to edit it for you.
  3. Hello, Jason. I'm the one who made KSE 3.3.5, and so am here to help you out. First off, that's an impressive amount of digging! Second, can you post the KSE_Log.txt results? Third, have you tried running KSE from a commandline and seeing if errors pop-up? Lastly, have you tried following the "Hard-coding" steps from here: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/478-dll-files-for-fair-strides-tools/
  4. Now if someone can check if KSE works okay on Android saves...

KotOR Savegame Editor is a Perl/Tk application used in the editing of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic savegame files. The following fields are currently editable: - Savegame name - Player name - NPC Name - Appearance (player and party) - Portrait (player and party) - Attributes - Skill Ranks - Equipment (player and party)*** - Feats (add/remove)** - Powers (add/remove)** - Cheats Used flag - Hit Points (current and max*) - Force Points (current and max*) - Experience Points (player and party) - Good/Evil rating - Credits - Time played - Class (see notes below)** - Levels - Current Party - NPCs - Global Booleans - Global Numerics - Gender - Min1HP - Inventory** - Influence (TSL only) - Chemicals (TSL only) - Components (TSL only) - Quests *=Note: Max Hit Points and Max Force Points, while editable appear to be calculated at the time the savegame is loaded. Therefore while these fields are editable, the game will change the values back to what it calculates as correct. It is therefore better to change your Wis/Cha and Con to affect your MFP and MHP. ** Not supported on Xbox Saves, will cause "Damaged Savegame" message. *** See special section for detailed instructions ----------------- Credits ----------------- tk102 for originally creating the KSE. Pazuzu156 for reporting the issue with the Cloud saves, as well as helping fix it and setting up a mirror for and creating the auto-updater. Chev Chelios for much discussion of how Steam worked, as well as creating the INI-Generation tool, KPF. ----------------- Before Using KSE ----------------- --------------- Intro to KSE --------------- ------------- Using KSE ------------- --------------------------------------------- Override Folder: Subdirectories NOT supported --------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- Notes About Feats and Powers ----------------------------- ------------------------- Reminder: No Safety Net! ------------------------- ----------------------------------------------- Notes regarding Class-changing/Adding/Removing ----------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Notes regarding changing levels -------------------------------- ------------------------------- Notes about changing equipment ------------------------------- =============== Known Bugs =============== No saves found (You have Steam KotOR 2 and use cloud saves) ----------------------------------------------------------- Go to your KotOR 2 folder and make a folder called "saves". Inventory Hiccup ------------------ If an item is added to your inventory and it has the same Tag as another item, KSE will generate an error. Getting Stuck During Vision Sequence (KotOR1) ---------------------------------------------- Symptom: After leaving the Endar Spire or Leaving Taris, you run into a sequence where you should be seeing a "dream" cutscene but instead you're locked up in a room with a "CutStart" object that doesn't do anything. Cause: You have NOT placed the modified .dlg files into your override directory and you have changed your character to a Jedi/Minion/Droid class or you have changed your Gender to something other than Male or Female. Fix: Download the KSE Fixed Cutscene Files (available from http://www.pcgamemods.com/8800 ) and place the .dlg files into your Override folder. ============================================== After changing appearance to look like (an NPC), the real NPC has no head! --------------------------------------------------------------- Symptom: You change appearance to look like one of your party NPCs and all is well until you attempt to enter a new area with that NPC. Then the NPC loses its head! Cause: SW:KotOR doesn't like two unique characters appearing together. Fix: From T7Nowhere's post on Holowan Labs-- =============================================================== Equipment Section ------------------ Due to an unknown bug, the Equipment branch might become unusable. The only fix is to restart KSE. ================== Please report bugs to zxcvbnm6012@yahoo.com 11/7/13 - In addition, please report bugs to tristongoucher@gmail.com Thank you. - Fair Strides.

Statement: If there's anything besides RCM or BoS:SR that I will download instantly, it's KSE. I am downloading as of this reply.

      haha ha ... I second HK-47's "statement" ... downloading of course ...

  7. No pics? Also, could be issues with shadows, VSync, or grass. Does your game run normally with these on and the SweetFX off?
  8. Actually, you have it backwards. The VirtualStore is not the normal directory. In the KotOR 2 install directory is a saves folder. This is the "normal" place to find saves. When run in compatibility mode for Windows XP, the saves part is done as it was originally intended by the devs, from the saves folder in the install location. The Virtual Store is from Windows 7 and up, and is a failsafe if anything.
  9. FG and me will be working on his files tomorrow, the 29th. If you can get McDonald's to be friendly, you might hop on Skype with us...

Question: Do you have a copy of the Rulan dialogue file, the one I edited? I seem to have tossed a vanilla one into the installer and can't access my laptop to pull that one...

  10. Hey, guys! KSE now allows you to edit the main PC's currently equipped items!!! :D And the game took out a lot of the error-checking for me; it auto unequipped the armor if I didn't have the feat... Now to do the party members...

  11. It's so lonely in the chat room... :( I leave for a week and people stop going... :]

indeed ... happy new 2015 and nice Mira profile pic btw .... one of my favourite TSL characters no doubt (for her personality mainly)

You'll have to thank Sith Holocron on the profile pic, but I agree with you on Mira's personality; kinda reminds me of Mara Jade... :D

  12. He said "re-skinning the texture", not every texture in the game. And "re-skin" does not mean "re-create", "re-do", or "create from scratch".
  13. Whoo-Hoo! Picked up a free Nvidia GS 8400 graphics card and it plays KotOR like a dream... Might have to migrate off my laptop...

Hey, my laptop has Intel Graphics in it, so my game look's like crap!

On another note, I just saw my Holo-Roster in a whole new light... :)

DISCLAIMER: I did not make ERFEdit originally. I did however receive the source code from Stoffe via PM at Lucas Forums, after telling her about a severe issue that needed to be fixed. I have fixed the issue and am now releasing the updated version of the tool. ERF/RIM Edit Version: v0.5 Released: 2006-05-18 Updated: 2007-03-11 Updated_FS: 2017-03-19 What is this? ------------- This is a simple Packer/Unpacker/Browser for the ERF/MOD/SAV/HAK/RIM format files used by the bioware engine games Neverwinter Nights and Knights of the Old Republic. The resource type list is updated to handle some types of files used by the KotOR games that were not used by Neverwinter Nights. It is capable of creating new files or modify existing ones, as well as extract any resources found within the file. A simple search feature makes it easier to locate resources in the list within large ERF format files. The Description field is currently not shown or editable since it is not used with the KotOR games. User Interface shortcuts ------------------------ You may drag and drop files into the list to add them instead of using the "Insert" button, or you may drag selected files from the list to the Desktop or a Windows Explorer window to extract them rather than use the "Extract" button. Selected files in the list can be deleted with the hotkeys Backspace and DEL in addition to using the Remove button. When dragging many or large files from the ERF/RIM file to the desktop (or a Windows Explorer window), keep the mouse button pressed until the progress bar has reached 100%, then drag the files to where you want them and let go. Hopefully I'll be able to fix this quirky behavior in the future. IMPORTANT! ---------- New files/resources added to an ERF file are not actually added until you Save the file. Do not move, rename or delete any files you have added before you save the open ERF/RIM file, or the resource will not be added upon save. Resources in the list with an asterisk (*) following the ResRef are newly added and not yet saved into the file. These files cannot be extracted until the ERF file has been saved.
  16. My new tool ModHex is almost done!!! Just an info panel, adding some status messages, and then I can make the read-me! And Darth_Sapiens made a nice icon for me to use too! :D

Sorry about not being able to test it more.

  17. Could you PM me details on your exploits into using TSLPatcher to patch the dlgs?
  18. Simple: I haven't done it yet. This is all just theory. I haven't started on any of this yet. As to the different time thing on planets, I was thinking that different planets might have different "cycles". And when you go on the Ebon Hawk, I was planning on advancing the time by two hours.
  19. I'm glad you asked, HH. I'm thinking of making 23 placeable models, each within the size of the original skybox. As time progresses, I'll spawn another hour and delete the previous hour. As far as the models themselves go, I'll be making each one a little smaller than the previous, to avoid clipping. Now to address how the time thing goes. In the module.ifo file, there are four fields of note: Mod_StartHour, Mod_StartDay, Mod_StartYear, and Mod_MinPerHour. The first three are pretty obvious. The last is simply the number of Real-World minutes equals an Hour in-game. By default, the game modules operate on a 2 minute scale, meaning two real minutes is an hour in-game. There's also a few functions of note: GetTimeHour, GetTimeMinute, and GetTimeSecond, and SetTime. These return integers, which I can then convert to strings, add together, and set as a global string for the planet in general. I'll edit the OnExit script for each planet's module to set the global string. I can then add to the OnEnter script to get the last planetary time and set the current time to that, as I think the Mod_Start time is used upon load. In this way, I should be able to do it, and I'll be adding up to 8 global strings, depending on Sleheyron's completion.
  20. Well... Believe it or not, I've kept almost all the files throughout several re-installations of XP. I can still do the mod. I have many ideas on how to do it, though the only limitation is the mdl format. I do intend to do it, so don't worry, guys. I'll first do it for Dantooine, as Malkior already has the files done.
  21. Yes, you aren't launching the game as an administrator. To find your saves, try going to Documents and Settings\\ApplicationData\VirtualStore or something like that.
  22. Eeeehhhhhh...... I don't know, something about a helmet-less Stormtrooper just gets me the wrong way, and not because he's black. They were known for the intimidation of anonymity...
  23. Now just explain how you did that. In the end, I can write all this up in a PDF for you.
