  1. Does anyone know the boolean for completing the fourth starmap planet? I think it's NPC_INIT_PLANET_6 but idk for sure.

      It's actually a global number. Let me see...

       

      If you define "Fourth" as "fourth since Taris", then you check the "K_STAR_MAP" numeric for a value of 40.

       

      If you define "fourth" as "fourth since leaving Dantooine", then check the "K_STAR_MAP" variable for a value of 50 (this is the value it is when yo get to go to the Unknown World.

      @FS Yes I mean the fourth since leaving Dnatooine, thank you for answering that. If I wanted to write a script that checked to see if the PC was on the 50th value, then would I use the GetGlobalNumeric function? This would be for a dialogue to be placed in the "script that determines availability."

  2. I appreciate all of the help so far from you guys! If I wanted to make create a script that would "fire" allowing other dialogue options to be "available" what function should I use? Would I try to create my own boolean, then have it fire. Therefore, I could use the boolean to check "node availability" and open up more dialogue options? Or is there a more simple way of doing this? Edit: if possible I would like to avoid using custom booleans to reduce incompatiblity issues, unless I have no other choice.

  5. Okay, I did what you suggested and it still doesn't seem to work. Here's the changed script in the attachment. ' Edit: I think I need to add a conditional like something if TRUE then conversation availabe, else FALSE no conversation available. Would that be right? It seems getting the boolean is not enough I need to assign it a command to it. Right?

  7. Could anyone answer why this script isn't working? I've tried to write a GetBoolean script that would be used to determine the availability of a dlg node, but it has not worked. Is this the wrong function or am missing something?

  9. I'm so hyped about modding! I've been learning, and smashing my head against the keyboard for three days straight. Hardly even eating... wow... Stayed up to five a.m. two of those days... Anyways, just wanted to let the community know how thankful I am. Deadlystream is an amazing place, most people are kind/helpful. The rest I haven't seem to run into yet..... there might be one out there idk. ^^ To anyone who reads this... HAVE A NICE DAY! Shanilia Grey Jedi Merchant mod still does not have a release date But an early estimate puts the release date somewhere around March 10th, most likely before that. If you would like to beta test that, please message me or leave a comment. I'll need/want someone to beta test eventually, not yet though. Note to self: put on WIP thread about beta tester.... Further note to self: Don't give up! Moving back to you, it doesn't matter how old my mods get. Please post feedback on the reviews! Save Mission was an idea Darth'a'Barbar had, though I edited it and came up with all the dialogue choices. He deserves credit for the idea! Enslave Zaalbar was inspired by my procrastination (and Save Mission) to tackle this massive dlg file that I will have to create mabye a dozen scripts for and learn how to make the VOs have lips moving. Thankfully, bead-v wrote me a tutorial. Yebb Yebbb Dddbbddd - That's all folks!

Idk how long it will take to get the VO and lips to work cohesively. Nor how long it will take to write the necessary scripts. Also, how to properly organize the dialogue so you don't have the same conversations over and over and over again, or the player doesn't get buried in dialogue without a way to leave. Really, just have to make an understandable "map" of the dialogue for players to get acquainted with. Any and all feedback is appreciated, and I mean this!
  14. Hey FS, I've been trying to create a script that "fires" on the first converstation with an NPC Then using that script to determine "Node availability." From what I read on holowan labs there's a default script for it using k_act_talktrue, k_con_talkedto , and k_contalked2, but I can't seem to get anything to work. What Function would you recommend I that use?

      Ahahhaa, yeah I haven't slept much the last three days. I've been locked up in my room working on SHanilia mod, as FS would say "pounding my head against the keyboard trying to get script to work." It's been great, I'm actually about to update my WIP thread with some images, now that i've realized how i can do that...

      I thought it was a bit unclear on some things but it does come with instructions. I'm sure there's people here that can answer any question you may have, just make a post

      The instructions coming with TSLPatcher are a good starting point though. Just make sure to read them from the beginning if you're new to it.

      Thanks for the advice guys! I was completely unaware it came with a manual. I'm not completely sure where to download it from, probably in modding tools.

  18. So this would increase incompatibility issues and idk how to do this yet, but should I add a journal update(s)? The idea is that it would remind players to go back and speak with Shanilia after specific events. Especially, the last two conversations you have with Shanilia. Spoiler Shanilia ends up on the Star Forge depending on your conversation choices.

  20. Does anyone happen to have a save game that includes the following information: PC just finished 3rd planet, and moving on to the fourth planet. Has not gone to the planet of Manaan, even the landing zone on the planet surface! I need Manaan to be the fourth planet. I'm working on Shanilia Grey Jedi Merchant Mod, and I'm testing out my dlg file. Inside the dlg file are different scripts to check for "availability of node," I want to find out which ones work. Before you ask, I have checked the files in SavedGames forums. It's the third planet for djh269, which has been very helpful, but I require it to be the fourth.
  21. Yeah, I've always assumed Jolee knew because of his connection to the force. Somehow the Force revealed that to him, he said that he recognized Revan immediately, mabye from a vision? If I make the mod any larger with a quest, I think I would lose interest or fail. But I will keep this in mind. I do, however, have a unique use for the Jedi Holocron. I plan to fully add alignment shifts and checks regarding this sort of thing. You and I seem to think alike, I will add different choices to explain your identity crisis. As mentioned above, I think Jolee was given a Force vision. He knew that Revan was going to have a great destiny; he was more certain than Revan was about Revan, even after he/she found out. Recently, I've added Mandalorian armor to the list of items and changed the look of the Mandalorian Commander on Kashyyyk to that new look. I've also learned a lot more about scripting that hopefully will allow me to finish this mod! The next major obstacle is testing out scripts, dialogue editing, and figuring out which scripts can be registered as (idk how to put this) already been fired to determine if certain dialogue trees are available. If you have an idea about something that should be added to the mod, feel free to share it!

  25. Using the kotor tool when editing the properties of a uti file, you can save/load the xml which saves the edited properties. Otherwise, I have almost no clue what XML files are. Ohh, so it's a matter of setting things in order.. I did not find that anywhere... Thank you Edit: Didn't work. I changed it to 509, no mods installed, 509 would be a new entry. Tested it out by changing the UTC appearance to 509 for several mandalorians on (kas_m25aa) Kashyyyk lower shadowlands. Must be an issue with the 2da entry? I only changed the race text and texa to N_Mandalorian09. following the advice given by someone at Holowan lab, somehow the above link doesn't work.. Though it just worked five minutes ago...
