DESCRIPTION: This mod gives the KotOR 1 NPC Belaya a unique look, with two variants for her different appearances in the game as a Jedi and as a Sith. You meet Belaya when you visit Dantooine and are on your way to meet the Jedi Council. She is close to Juhani. If you choose to kill Juhani during your trials on Dantooine, Belaya will leave the Jedi Order, fall to the dark side and confront you again as a Sith at the entrance of the Korriban Sith Academy, where you will be forced to kill her. This unique Belaya look was created by SpaceAlex as part of the K1 Enhancement Pack, which has been released as a modder's resource. While this is not the first mod that replaces Belaya's generic NPC look, the mods I found previously made the change by reusing a female player character head, which could be awkward for players who happen to choose the same head for their character. Therefore, I decided to make SpaceAlex's redesign of Belaya into a standalone mod. NOTE: In order for this mod to take effect, you must load a save before visiting Dantooine for the first time, and a save before visiting the entrance area of the Korriban Sith Academy for the first time. 2. INSTALLATION: Extract the Belaya's Unique Look.zip you downloaded to anywhere you like, as long as it is not within the KotOR directory. Run Install.exe, point the installer to your KotOR directory, where swkotor.exe is located, and let the installer do its job. I also provide upscaled versions of the textures as an optional installation. After installing the main part of this mod, go to the "Optional - Upscaled Textures" folder, drop the files into the Override folder in your directory and overwrite files when prompted. NOTE: When you install this mod, a new folder named "backup" may be created by the installer in the same folder as the installer. Do not delete the folder or the file within the folder if you are planning on uninstalling this mod. 3. UNINSTALLATION: If no backup folder was created when you installed this mod, go to the Override folder in your KotOR directory, and delete the following files: appearance.2da heads.2da dan13_belaya.utc kor33b_belaya.utc N_BelH.mdl N_BelH.mdx N_BelH.tpc N_BelHd.tpc If a backup folder was created when you installed this mod, go to the backup folder, cut and paste any files from the folder and paste the file in the Override folder in your KotOR directory, then delete the rest of the aforementioned files that did not have a backup copy. 4. While I have always logged into Deadly Stream and Nexus Mods regularly to check if my mods receive any new comment or bug report, July-August 2022 marks my busiest period in working on KotOR mods since developing and releasing my KotOR 2 same-gender romance mods in 2016-2017. (Having lots of free time certainly helps) Throughout the past couple of weeks, the things I have done in modding KotOR include: Updating my Kreia reskin mod by converting the files from TGA to TPC. Updating my TSL Improved Party Outfits by updating the inventory icons with rendered textures of the party members' outfits, instead of using cropped images from screenshots. Developing and releasing KotOR 1 Improved Party Outfits, my first new mod since 2018, on my 30th birthday no less. Developing and releasing a new same-gender romance mod: Carth Onasi and Male PC Romance. Supplying new bug fixes to the KotOR 1 Community Patch on its GitHub repository. Those bugs were related to Carth's romance that I discovered when I was working on my Carth and male PC romance mod. My Carth romance mod also includes those bug fixes. Updating my KotOR 2 same-gender romance mods by restructuring the installation process and setting up TSLPatcher to patch relevant dialogue files instead of replacing dialogue files, in order to improve compatibility with other mods. Updating my PartySwap and Extended Enclave Compatibility Patch since at long last, I finally figured out how to make Disciple appear on the Ebon Hawk during Extended Enclave's expanded Rebuilt Jedi Enclave sequence, if both Disciple and Handmaiden are recruited as party members. This fix is also included in the compatibility patch from my Handmaiden and Female Exile - Disciple and Male Exile Romance mod. [August 13 Update] Updating my Darth Revan Texture for Star Forge Robes by upscaling the texture and convert the texture files from TGA to TPC. [August 13 Update] Making two mods that give named NPCs unique appearance by utilizing assets from SpaceAlex's K1 Enhancement Pack modder's resource: Belaya's Unique Look and Human Xor Unique Look. This has been my most eventful period when it comes to working on KotOR mods since the development and releases of my KotOR 2 same-gender romance mods, but it is worth it.

    An excellent tool for modders. Just the feature of getting coordinates alone is already an improved version of the Whereami Armband mod, on top of being compatible with The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod. Thank you for making this.
  5. Update: I have updated my compatibility patch to solve the issue of Disciple not spawning on the Ebon Hawk if you have installed PartySwap.
  6. Big news: I just updated my PartySwap and Extended Enclave Compatibility Patch, since I finally figured out how to make Disciple appear on the Ebon Hawk after the player character's "death" if both Handmaiden and Disciple are recruited as party members, so players who use PartySwap would no longer miss out Disciple's dialogue during the mind-reading scene.

    I solved the issue by editing the k_020ebo_enter scene used by Extended Enclave, by adding an extra check to spawn Disciple on a specific spot on the Ebon Hawk (with coordinates) if both Handmaiden and Disciple are recruited as party members. The source code of my edited scripts have been included in the compatibility patch.

  7. I have updated my compatibility patch to solve the issue of Disciple not spawning on the Ebon Hawk if you have installed PartySwap, and both Disciple and Handmaiden's dialogue during the mind-reading scene is also restored now.

  9. Thanks for the shout-out! You are correct about making a Carth and male PC romance mod requiring more dialogue editing than a Bastila and female PC romance mod does, because Carth has more dialogue referring to the PC's gender throughout his romance than Bastila does, since Carth calls the female PC "woman" and "sister" a lot. I handled the edited dialogue in Carth's romance the same way as I did my romance mods for KotOR 2: splicing VO files to replace the pronouns and gendered terms. Thank you again for your SithCodec tool, so I did not have to waste time in hex editing the VO files needed for my Carth romance mod.

In addition, the player can still end Carth’s romance by choosing certain dialogue options. This mod was inspired by forgetcanon’s Bi Carth mod.   17. If using KotOR 1 Restoration is really important for you, read my guide closely and follow the instructions to avoid bugs. There is no good alternative to KotOR 1 Community Patch. K1CP is a far superior mod to K1R for the fact that the former fixes more bugs than the latter does, which is why I recommend K1CP instead of K1R in my guide.
  18. If you were following r/KotOR's mod build and have already installed EE and my comp patch, do not install this Handmaiden/Disciple romance mod, since it will cause mod conflicts. That standalone EE patch was made specifically for players who use both PartySwap and EE without my Handmaiden/Disciple romance mod. That standalone patch was actually made after the release of this romance mod. If you want to install the mods from the r/KotOR mod build as well as this romance mod, I'm afraid the only option is to reinstall your game to remove all the mods, reinstall the mods from the mod build, then when you reach the PartySwap part of the mod build, follow the steps to install my Handmaiden/Disciple romance mod, Extended Enclave and the compatibility patches.
  19. You guessed it correctly. As long as you intend to use Extended Enclave with my mod, you need to install the compatibility patch included in my mod. In your case, since you don't use M4-78EP, and you're not using N-DReW25's EE Patch, the order of installation you need to follow is: 1. Install PartySwap 2. Select and install the "PartySwap Compatible Installation" option to install my main mod 3. Install Extended Enclave 4. Run the installer of my Extended Enclave compatibility patch, first select and install the "No M478-EP install" option. 5. Run the installer of my Extended Enclave comp patch again; this time select and install the "PartySwap Compatible" option.

If you use my mod with a non-English version of TSLRCM, your game will crash, because this mod adds custom dialogues that do not exist in the vanilla game in order to prevent characters from referring to the player character by the wrong gender. The only solution is to play both KotOR 2 and TSLRCM in English. I am not familiar with any of the non-English languages officially supported by KotOR 2 and TSLRCM, including German, so support for non-English localizations with my mod is not going to happen.

In addition to TSLRCM and my mod, are you using any other mods? If you play KotOR 2 on Steam, have you ever subscribed to any mod from the Steam Workshop before?
  22. The game has coded clothing items that way, so even if you mod clothing items to be upgradable, only the underlay can be upgraded. There's not much I can do about it.

To anyone who tries to tell me "I'm LGBT myself, and I'm not offended by mods that make gay characters straight", call me "over-sensitive over pixels" and even accuse me of caring more about fictional LGBT characters than real LGBT people, and that "extremists" like me (read: people who are vocal about LGBT-phobia) make LGBT people look bad: Go away with your respectability politics nonsense and stay far away from me. I am far from the only LGBT person who hates mods that turn canon gay characters straight, so do not think you know better than any other LGBT people just because you are "not as over-sensitive" as the rest of us. Also, I am active in my local LGBT community in real life, so do not even dare to assume I do not care about real life LGBT people just because I care about how fictional LGBT characters are represented in media and how they are treated by the audience. I can do both. To any other LGBT people who agree with me and are interested in supporting my mods, feel free so message me or comment on my individual mods to express your appreciation.
