2 pointsIf you are getting errors, you didn't change all of the instances of the Base name. Seeing as MDLEdit does actually allow you to edit the Base name, as @ebmar pointed out above (contrary to what I thought), then I would suggest you stick with using that. You're probably less likely to get yourself in trouble.

2 pointsI sent him the files. He doesn't have to change his name but patience in the future might be advised.

2 pointsI find it amusing that someone states "I don't have an issue with people messing with my mod", even though I never said such a thing.
-
1 pointYup, many mismatched names were found in the old mods and in fact Obsidian's TSL did this on their vanilla pmbnm model which its header written as pmbmn. In the earlier times I did ignore the situation and did not found any major problems beside the generated AR_ERROR.log. But in later practice I did make sure every model I get either from my end or from others end gets their naming right. And yes, to reiterate DP's quote earlier-

1 pointHello again! I have more or less managed to use MDLEdit to do what I wanted to, by converting the BIN to ASCII then use a simple text editor to rename the model to what I wanted and then reconverting from ASCII to BIN. Thanks for the extra help though, ebmar! Much appreciated. I noticed (using plenty of the material found in the excellent Space Alex's K1 Enhancement Pack that I often get names mismatches logged under AR_ERROR. I believe it is harmless enough but I would like to investigate what it may mean. Any advice? Thanks!

1 pointYou are too nice! I would never consider a request as pointless as this. I don't even understand the logic in a request like this, but I guess there isn't any!
-
1 pointI don't know. If it was one or the other then maybe, however it wasn't just the game, or just the book. He was behind both and as I recall Bioware were trotting his name about pretty heavily for a time. He may not be solely responsible, but he is responsible. It shocked me at the time, but in hindsight, was Drew ever that worthy of praise? Or did he just get lucky with the Bane trilogy. I don't know, but I do know I'd never want to take a chance on him again.
-
1 pointI agree to some extent however, Drew Karpyshyn was comissioned by EA to bridge the gap between K1 & TSL to an already prewritten SWTOR galaxy. (The book came out a couple months prior to two plus years of work on an MMO) I'm fairly certain most of his major plot points, especially the ending was written before he was given the book to write. Just from how rapid and short the book was, the most creative freedom he may have had was probably the dealing of Canderous and the helmet of Mandalore, but even that was already hardcoded due to TSL lore. Really, he shoudln't be held too* responsible for that mess, despite how lackluster it felt. In essence, he was paid to string a predetermined plot with some dialogue and little more. Still, Chris Avellone would be the best guy to write k3.
-
1 pointDrew Karpyshyn was responsible for the complete ruination of both Revan and the Exile's character and motivations in TOR and that atrocious prequel novel 'Revan'. I wouldn't even want the man sharpening pencils, let alone having anything to do with writing for a hypothetical KotOR III. Chris Avellone would be heading the project ideally, but if not him then I'd go for Mark Yohalem who worked on Planscape: Tides of Numenera and wrote Primordia. But it will never happen due to the decanonization of the EU and a whole host of other reasons. It's probably for the best anyway.

0 pointsHi everyone. I know it has been a very long time since I have been here I know most of you guys have guessed that this mod is dead. I wish I had better news but over the past year plus with dealing with my mental health issues...I have not been able to continue the work on it. I am doing better but there is still work to be done to get my life back in order. I'm sorry , I didn't make this post earlier. I know the interest in this project is not what it use to be but if anyone is interested in continue the project,... I can get all the files and info to you. I don't expect anyone to take it up, the most I can see if someone wants to turn the story and files into a story video on youtube. I will wait till next weekend to see if anyone is interested in taking it over. If someone does take it over, I will be happy to help answer any questions and be as helpful as I can for them. I know it will be their project then and will not challenge any changes they might wish to make to the game. Coming next weekend I will be releasing the major story elements of the RoR game if no one takes it over. Even though you will not be able to play the game, you can at least read and imagine what it could have been. During this week I will be releasing files as resources for other molders to use in their mods. I ask for modders to just add in a credit line showing you got the files from this mod. Looking at the mod and might be able to do a post along with the files and scripts used to make modules come alive fast with npcs placement and animations. I am sorry I wasn't able to finish the project. If you need to reach me, simply private message me. I hope everyone had a great holiday season and a Happy New years ! I will be around the forums for the next few weeks and hope to visit more often but days of large huge mods like RoR is over. Logan23

0 pointsFirst off, my apologies to Kainzorus Prime for confusing him with Prime. I was up all night and I guess I was a little tired. (That wasn't his old screen name!) So sorry about that, KP. Secondly, if you were trying to pull a fast one @PurpleClone, it kind of back fired on you.

0 pointsEA needs to lose the SW license. I don't hate SWTOR, and don't feel that any characters were ruined. But they need to lose the license. EA is a greedy company that hasn't cared for the customer for several years now. T3 was destroyed by the Emperor in the Revan novel. The love for all the old games will never die. They were good for a reason. EA's greed keeps them from funding games that turn out to be just as good with up to date engines. The new SWBF2 had great potential, but their greed has set it back so much.
-
0 pointsPersonally, I don't want any new KOTOR content to be in production until SWTOR's long gone. Gotta hold off until another canon (in this case KOTOR-canon) purge can happen. Making T3 explode was the cherry on top for me. So tacky to kill the family pet.

0 pointsI have been up all night. I have sent Kainzorus Prime the recolored version. If he thinks it's OK for you to have it, I imagine he'll forward the recolored version of his mod that I sent to him. Either way, my part in this concluded. Have an excellent day while I (finally) go to sleep.
-
0 pointsIf he gives permission in this thread, I'll send you a recolored version via PM.

0 pointsI won't for two reasons: 1) I'm not altering another person's mod and distributing it without their permission. 2) I don't wish to be responsible for walking you through how to install it.
-
0 pointsYour best bet is to grab this mod by Prime and recolor the stripes yourself.
-
0 pointsThanks. Yeah, it was really frustrating to be so close when Windows 10 decided to make the old tools stop working. I'm really glad that the modding community here is still so alive. The new tools are working great, and I should be able to actually get something done 😄. Hopefully you won't have to wait years again for the next one 😉.

0 pointsHello there folks . . . Before you make a thread looking for a missing mod, check the following steps. 1) If you're looking for a mod that used to be at KotOR FileFront, you should first check that it's actually gone. Do a search at GameFront first. If it was a missing KotOR mod, search through this link. If it was a missing TSL mod, search through this link. Couldn't find it or you were looking for a different mod never available there? Go to step (2) 2) Are you sure it's not at one of the other common modding sites? Try all of the following . . . Nexus Mods requires users to register before uploading any files or downloading files over a certain file-size limit. KotOR and TSL sections are available. Not here? try the individual modders' sites in section (3) 3) Browse the modder-owned Personal Sites: This list is subject to change. Achilles Achilles' Modding Page (Mira Makeover, High Stakes Pazaak, Calo Nord Inventory Fix) Agent Xim ModSoup (Operation Kill Bastila, Korriban Crystal Cave, Jawa Ion Rifle, Genoharadan Gear) alvin777t SW: KotOR Modding Enclave (Various mods such as Force Replication and Darth Maul head) Andargor Andargor's HQ (Home of the Holowan Emporium and Holowan Cloakworks) ChAiNz.2da JumpStationZ (Some great mods can be found here. including some quality re-skins) cjt0202 and mjpb3 cjt0202 and mjpb3's mods (Carth Romance Fix is the prominent mod here along with some other gems) Darkkender Darkkender's KOTOR & TSL Page Darth333 Darth333 KotOR mods (Miscellaneous mods for Kotor 1 and 2: Easy swoop racing, Recruitable mods, New force powers and some other stuff) Darth Parametric Darth Parametric's Random Mod Collection Includes mods for KotOR, TSL and Jade Empire!
