Part of the... Author : RedHawke 08/05/04 V1.4 Updated: Deadlystream 2/25/2020 V1.4i ============================================================================ This recruit mod allows for the recruiting of a new character "RedHawke" into your KOTOR party. This recruit mod has several recruit mod innovations built in, this mod allows the user to pick which NPC they wish to replace, this function is not easy to do, but I think it is well worth it, most KOTOR recruitable NPC mods usually fix who is replaced, but this one does not, and this mod also has an exit fot the NPC at a pre-determined point. I hope you all enjoy the Mod! ------------------------------ Updated Installation Instructions (updated😞 Run Tslpatcher to install: No longer requires any installation order to work with other Redhawke mods, nor any custom "compatible" files. ------------------------------ Incompatibilities (updated) : upcrystals.2da (causes issues with other lightsaber mods) global.jrl (may cause issues with other quest mods, use JRL Merger tool to make compatible or manual edit .jrl) Any mods that edit the following files: PMBJ09.tga P_RH01.tga w_dblsbr_093.mdx/mdl w_lghtsbr_093.mdx/mdl w_shortsbr_093.mdx/mdl unk44_sparty.dlg man26_selport.dlg ------------------------ Adknowledgements: ------------------------------------------------ A boatload of thanks to Fred Tetra for creating the awesome and simple to use kotor editing tool. And A Big...Big Thanks to Svosh, The Photoshop Master, for allowing me to use the Evil Bastila clothes texture! And Another Big...Big Thanks to Darth333 for her help, without which this mod would have not been possible! And Thanks to Cchargin for the cool Kotor Mod Manager, KMM Program! Also a very appreciative nod to the many friendly and informative people at the Lucasforums Holowan Laboratories board who have shown and or helped me to learn how to do stuff like this.
  2. Hello all, This is an idea I had many years ago (I think I even made a thread here about it), but I never got very far. It crossed my mind recently so I decided to take another crack at it since it's a character's story I feel low-key passionate about. When the player is down in the Undercity of Taris, they can run into Rukil, the old proclaimer of something called the Promised Land. He has you go search for his missing apprentice, a young woman named Malya. In the game, you find a generic (old man) corpse with Malya's journal, and you tell Rukil she died. The end. Or not. The Promised Land concept is interesting enough, but the fact that Rukil has an apprentice (with a name), who seems to be an open-minded, hopeful, and brave young woman of all things seems like a huge missed opportunity to me. Maybe she's force sensitive. Maybe she has a unique perspective the other characters don't have, based on her unique upbringing. It's especially tragic for my player character, who doesn't really have the hots for Bastila and would be much more interested in someone who's not such a normie. So, Malya lives on, developing quietly in the back of my mind. So I've started work on it again. STORY: The new story is, basically, that while searching for the Promised Land, Malya left her journal on an old corpse in the Undercity when had to run and hide from Rakghouls and then Gamorrean slave hunters. She got captured by Gamorreans, and sold to the exchange. Shortly before the player character arrives at Davik's estate, Malya attempted to escape but was caught and thrown in the torture chamber. She is then rescued by the player character, and the grateful Malya joins him after learning that the other Outcasts are long gone on their journey to the Promised Land. The party then escapes Taris and goes to Dantooine, where Malya succumbs to her usual habits and explores every part of the Jedi enclave she can. While the player character is in training, Malya steals a Jedi holocron, and starts learning about the Jedi, Sith, and various Force philosophies. Once the quest for the Star Forge begins, the player character learns of Malya's Force experiments and has the option to train her as his own apprentice. Instead of becoming a traditional Jedi, however, Malya forms her own philosophy combining the teachings of Rukil and what she has learned since. One of her protests to the usual events of the game's story is on Kashyyyk, where she denounces a violent Wookiee uprising against Czerka, instead advocating for a more moderate agenda. As she harbors feelings for the player character, she dislikes Bastila, and by extension distrusts the Jedi. This is amplified after the Leviathan incident and subsequent revelation. Near the end, Malya declares her wish that the player character neither be subservient to the Jedi nor the Dark Side, and instead submit to nothing but Truth itself and become a fully realized individual, and says that this can be done by saving his old friend Malak from the Dark Side. MOD GOAL: Recruitment mod that adds Malya to the party, replacing Juhani. She serves as an alternative love interest to Bastila for male PCs. She can be trained as a Force user by the player character. She is to be fully voiced (I have directed voice actors before so I'm not worried about this - I'm more worried about lip synching because I have no idea how to do it). She is to chime in on the story like other party members do. Further down the road, if I get good enough at modding or have help, I'd like to have more story stuff like in the above summary. WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR: -In Davik's estate, Malya can be found in the torture chamber (replacing Hudrow). When you rescue her, she gives you the Ebon Hawk security codes and joins your party after you escape Taris. This is implemented and works. However, there are a few problems I have to work out. -Her appearance is subject to change, but right now I have a reskinned albino version of TSL's PFHA06. After she escapes Davik's estate and changes out of the dirty old Outcast clothes, she has a hooded outfit which was made by removing the face from the darkjedif model (I might publish that bit on this website separately as a modder's resource or small mod). I made a prototype skin for the clothing, and I'll make cooler variants in the future. CURRENT PROBLEMS AS OF POSTING THIS: -I don't have any voiced lines yet, so Malya has been speaking Twilek. Sometimes her mouth doesn't move and I don't know why. Edit: Now I know why. -Although Malya has a unique entry in appearance.2da, I don't know how to access the new entry with the UTC editor. The dropdown menu only shows vanilla appearances to choose from, so that's why the Malya in Davik's estate looks like her old friend Shaleena the Outcast girl. Edit: Fixed! Thanks, Effix. -I hardly know how to do anything! Lol. So, if any of that sounds interesting, or if you have any comments or suggestions, or want to help in any way, or just want to say hi, I welcome your words. It had been so long I had forgotten the details; I had a post about this back in 2016: However, it's super old so I guess ignore it. Here are some images:

Recruit HK-47 on Taris v2.1 ====================================== By brents742 ============ Description =========== -This mod allows for recruiting HK-47 into your party as early as possible (Taris) in a way that does not interfere with the story arc. -Yuka Laka is trapped on Taris by the Sith Quarantine! Taking refuge in either Kebla Yurt's store or the Alien Apartments of Upper City South depending on what you chose. Yuka needs credits and he needs them fast, so he offers HK-47 for purchase on Taris if the player has enough credits. How will he escape and make it back to Anchorhead??? -Some additional dialog has been added to Yuka Laka on Taris and Tatooine. -HK-47 will appear in your Taris apartment after being recruited. -Nothing has been removed from the game. If you want to wait until Tatooine for HK-47 to enter your party as normal, you can still do that. -This mod simply adds the ability to purchase HK-47 from Yuka Laka on Taris instead of waiting to do so on Tatooine. Version Notes ============= v1.0 - 8/10/2021 - Initial release v2.0 - 9/17/2021 - Reconfigured installer to give options for various installations involving K1 Restoration and K1 Community Patch. Thanks to N-Drew25 and Ebmar for their help with this! - Added options for where the player would like HK-47 to be recruited from (Kebla Yurt's store or the Alien Apartments in Taris Upper City South) - Reduced pricing structure for HK-47 to better reflect an affordable yet not inconsequential price. (2500/2000/1750/1500) v2.1 - 1/31/2022 - Updated compatibility for K1 Community Patch Requirements ============ IMPORTANT: If you plan to use the K1 Restoration or K1 Community Patch, these mods should be installed BEFORE installation of this mod. This mod can be installed to the base game without any additional mods. Installation ============ Run TSLPatcher.exe and select the option that best describes your specific installation. Choosing the wrong one will make the mod not work properly, partially, or at all depending. The patcher will make backups of any existing files you may have that are the same as files this mod uses. Keep track of this backup folder - which will be located wherever you have the TSLPatcher.exe running from. Override Warnings: -k_ptar_opengate.ncs may flag if it is already present due to my Recruit T3-M4 Early mod. This is fine. -tat17_08yuka_01.dlg will flag as being overriden in installations where K1 Restoration is involved. This is fine. There should not be any others, but should you run across any, log them and the mods you are using and please PM me so I can work further on compatibility. Getting Started =============== A new save is required for this mod to work properly. Short of that, a save before leaving the Endar Spire. IMPORTANT: Loading an existing save will have the game call up cached information for the module Yuka Laka and HK-47 appear in (tar_m02ac or tar_m02aa depending on your installation) and they will not appear. Timing ====== If you do not purchase HK-47 before going to Davik's estate, your next available opportunity will be on Tatooine as normal. Compatibility ============= IMPORTANT - This mod makes changes/adds the following modules to the game: tar_m02aa.mod tar_m02ac.mod tar_m02af.mod tat_m17ac.mod Both K1 Restoration and K1 Commmunity Patch were specifically in mind when designing this mod as they also make changes to some of the above modules. If you run across a mod that this mod seems to conflict with, please let me know and I will work to update this mod to address it. What Specifically does this mod do? =================================== -k_ptar_opengate.ncs (found in your override folder after installation of this mod, or already existing if you have my Recruit T3-M4 early mod, allows for three party members to exit the Outcast camp, as vanilla only included MoveTo instructions for the Hendar scene to two party members as that is all you were meant to have at that point in the game. -m02aa.git was modified (within tar_m02aa.mod) to spawn Yuka Laka and HK-47 to spawn in the Alien Apartments via UTC. -m02ac.git was modified (within tar_m02ac.mod) to spawn Yuka Laka and HK-47 to spawn in Kebla Yurt's shop via UTC. -m02af.git was modified (within tar_m02af.mod) to place a waypoint for HK-47 to appear in your Taris apartment like the rest of your party members. -m17ac.git was modified (within tat_m17ac.mod) to reflect the location of a trigger that will remove the HK-47 UTC from Yuka Laka's shop if and only if he has already been purchased on Taris. -tar_m02ac.mod & tar_m02aa.mod -Modified to include the necessary scripts present within tat_m17ac (Yuka Laka's Anchorhead shop) to allow for the proper recruitment of HK-47. -Modified to include dlg files (tar17_08hk57_01 and tar17_08yuka_01 respectively) that mimic the same dlg files in tat_m17ac but changed where needed to reflect the Sith Occupation of Taris. -Modified to include utc files (tar17_08hk57_01 and tar17_08yuka_01 respectively) that mimic the same utc files in tat_m17ac. -k_act_hk47bought.ncs is a script that was created to set boolean KES_HK1 to indicate HK-47 has been purchased on Taris. -Added scripts to check if the player has the needed credits for the new purchase options as well as for taking those credits off the player once purchased. Check the source folder for specifics on this if needed. -tat_m17ac.mod -Modified Yuka Laka's dlg file (tat17_08yuka_01) to give Taris specific dialog if HK-47 was purchased on Taris. Otherwise, regular dialog will trigger. -New trigger UTT file created that will fire script k_ptat_killhk47.ncs that removes the HK-47 UTC from Yuka Laka's shop if and only if he has already been purchased on Taris. -k_con_hk47join.ncs checks to see if KES_HK1 boolean is true, and ensures Taris specific dialog only fires the first time the player speaks with Yuka Laka on Tatooine. -k_act_hk47join2.ncs flags HK-47 as having been purchased locally so Yuka Laka (Tatooine version) does not mistakenly believe he still has an HK-47 unit to sell you. Also sets Yuka Laka as having been talked to for the first time to prohibit Taris conversation every time you speak to him. -Created the following Booleans: KES_HK1 boolean - flags when HK-47 has been purchased on Taris. This is reflected in globalcat.2da changes that TSLPatcher makes during install. Permissions and Disclaimers =========================== I, brents742, reserve the right as author of this mod for sole permission to upload some or all of this mod anywhere for any reason. If you would like to include any part of this mod in anything, then please contact me for permission. The user of the mod is responsible for any damage to their game that may result from using this mod. Users are encouraged to make relevant backups and do their research on existing mods they have installed to double check compatibility. All efforts have been made to ensure this mod is as unobtrusive as possible but ultimate responsibility lies with the end user to check for possible conflicts before installing. Special Thanks ============== N-Drew25 and Ebmar for their assistance in reorganizing the installer for best practice installation methods. Fred Tetra - KOTOR Tool TK102 - DLG Editor Stoffe and Fair Strides - TSLPatcher Prydeless for their pink lightsaber mod that inspired me to begin modding to begin with. The entirety of the DeadlyStream modding forums for their inexhaustible resources and information that allows anyone with a computer and an idea to sit down and learn how to make their first mod. Lucasarts, Bioware, and Obsidian for making a game I am still funneling dozens of hours into nearly two decades after its initial release. 5. HelloEveryone, I'm new here! Anyway, I'm here because there is a mod I've wanted to make for several years now. I am actually able to do quite a bit of modding myself, but I am very limited at scripting/coding and I don't have all the time in the world to figure it out. I really would like a helper or maybe even a team to help me create this mod. Okay so remember Malya...? No? Remember the Taris undercity and the outcast village and that old guy named Rukil who was searching for the Promised Land? Well he had an "apprentice" named Malya who was described as a young woman who died trying to find the Promised Land. Now I don't know about you, but that sounds like a serious missed opportunity to me: A female roughly the same age as Bastila who is adventurous and open-minded enough to be a crazy old man's apprentice! Also, I believe KOTOR would be better if you had an option as to which girl you want to end up with romantically. I don't really like Bastila, personally . Now you have a choice, Bastila or Malya. So in this story, Malya survives and joins up with the Main Character and the gang. She is an eccentric sweety-pie who has albinism and has never been outside the undercity, and has never seen the light of the sun in her life. However, she is less pessimistic than the other outcasts and believes in the symbol of hope itself, the Promised Land, even if only in spirit. As a youth, Malya finds a mysterious Holocron while exploring the undercity. She develops an understanding of the Force, and the lack of Jedi interference causes her to develop extremely unorthodox views. These views influence the Main Character and help to cause an even more tense love triangle with Bastila. Also, the Holocron's mysterious source eventually ties into the Main Character's story. What I Can Do -I can do graphics somewhat. I have already made a prototype Malya. I will also make her clothes. I made her a hoodie based on the Dark Jedi Female model, complete with a hood that actually moves with Malya's head! -I can dialogue edit. Mostly. -I can use KOTOR Tool. -I have a very intricate story already developed, I will tell you all about it if we email or Skype. It contains themes of acceptance, love and romance, spirituality and belief, and tradition vs open-mindedness. -I voice act for male characters. I also have ways to get voice actors for female characters. -I am nice and will be your friend forever if you help me . What I Need You To Do -I mainly need someone who can script the quests and cutscenes. I am lost when it comes to this stuff. I am also a full-time college student who works during breaks so I can't really dedicate a ton of time to learning this. -A couple of new areas/maps (they can be reused/reskinned) That's it really. Goals -Make a new fully voiced Party Member with an optional romance storyline. -Expand KOTOR 1's horizons with new looks at morality and spirituality (KOTOR 2 style). -Keep the look and feel of the original game and have the mod seamlessly weave into the normal storyline. -A new "Malya" ending. In addition, if things go well, I have storylines for an expansion that involves adding on the the Malya ending with a new faction that joins the Main Character's independent cause, discovering who made the mysterious Holocron that Malya found, and invading Coruscant . Alright, so if you are interested in helping in any way whatsoever, or if you just want to ask about the mod, feel free to contact me! You can reach me through PMs, or preferably Skype me, my name is justinkorycki (look for the weasel with the pipe!)

----------------------- KotOR I RECRUITMENT MOD ----------------------- By BK2-Modder ----------------------- LUO RECRUITMENT MOD ----------------------- NOTE: THIS IS A MOD THAT IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THE ORIGINAL LUO MOD BY DARTH-ME ----------------------- This recruitment mod allows you to recruit Luo, the Black Rakata who seeks to learn the ways of the force. He also has some dialogue options once you recruit him, but they aren't too expansive. Relatively simple. I made this mod because Darth-me's is no longer available, afaik. ----------------------- INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS ----------------------- 1. Extract Folder from Zip Archive 2. Double click TSLPatcher.exe 3. Read this readme again 4. Install the mod to your override folder using TSLPatcher 5. Look at included screenshots prior to playing 6. LS: 1. After speaking with The One, go to Luo and enter dialogue 2. When Luo talks about the Force, tell him that "I think you misunderstand the Force..." 3. Choose the 4th option, should be the last one that is quite lengthy 4. Select "I will train you in the ways of the force" DS: 1. After killing the Elders, go back to the Black Rakata Base and speak to Luo, who will congratulate you. 2. Going through the main dialogue options, you should get to where he asks to be trained. 3. There should be a new dialogue option that you can choose in which you say that you will train him. 4. choose for him to take either Bastila's or HK's slot. ----------------------- NOTES/BUGS, ETC. ----------------------- - Luo starts out as a Level 1 Jedi Guardian, but he has some good force powers. 8. Hey everybody. I'm relatively new to Deadly Stream, although not to KOTOR/TSL and modding the games in general, so I hope that this is in the correct forum. I recently heard somewhere that Yuthura Ban has cut dialogue that would imply that she could be recruited if Juhani was dead. Presumably, this would mean that she is still a dark jedi, although I can't say for certain. I wanted to know if anyone could fact-check this and determine A) if Yuthura was once intended to be a party member, and how much could be salvaged and restored. Are there voice overs? Lines from her as a companion or just in the process of recruiting her? A side-quest? Also, for future reference, how would I go about checking that myself? Thanks!

View File BK2's Recruitable Luo 1.0 ----------------------- KotOR I RECRUITMENT MOD ----------------------- By BK2-Modder ----------------------- LUO RECRUITMENT MOD ----------------------- NOTE: THIS IS A MOD THAT IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THE ORIGINAL LUO MOD BY DARTH-ME ----------------------- This recruitment mod allows you to recruit Luo, the Black Rakata who seeks to learn the ways of the force.
