  2. Trying to play with lights in Max. Not quite working out the way I'd hoped.

  3. When you open a UTC file in KotOR Tool, and you open the inventory, there are two menus. One is labeled Standard Items, the one you see in game, where you choose the gear the character is wearing. The other is labeled Natural Items, which is what Fair Strides talking about. You can't see this screen ingame. This menu shows the items that the developers put on some droids and other creatures throughout the game so that they would be immune or resistant to certain abilities. These items are not considered equipped. They're considered a natural part of that creature. They don't override anything because the game puts absolutely nothing in those four slots. So if you want to give yourself a feat in KotOR, the easy way to do it is to make a new item, using one of the aforementioned natural items (Fair Strides mentioned g_i_crhide001.uti) as a base, and adding the proper parameter. Then, following with the scripts Fair Strides has given, the end result should be the PC and Bastila dueling with lightsabers instead of swords.
  4. So, when you model placeables, model them facing East, not North. Stupid differences between Bearing and Orientation. I'll probably never remember this.

  6. 2 things to check: Make sure all objects are Editable Meshes, and double check the orientation of all objects on export (in the ASCII file). I can't tell you how many times I have faced this problem myself. Regarding lightmaps: I'm not quite sure what to tell you. When dealing with the underside of objects, I would give two or three lights for every one over top. Also, make sure Realistic mode in Max is turned on. Apart from that, unless you released the wrong Max scene in your Released Assets thread, there are others who do have the right scene file (albeit, without the walkmesh).
  7. I believe it's M4-78. However, if that's all that's different, I should just be able to make a new installer setup that merges the file with the one in the override. I'm at least hoping that it can be done. Also, H4F - D4M isn't a replacement for this mod. It still only allows you to have one or the other. PartySwap allows both at the same time. If you want a compatible version for M4-78EP, I should have one ready by (guess when) Wednesday.

  9. Save any leftover quests from Korriban. I can't tell you how many times I finished a game with 'Aiding Lashowe' still active in my quest log after I killed her and didn't turn the holocron in because I didn't have to.
  10. Before you use PartySwap, could you check in your override folder and see if there are any files there that are also found in the tslpatchdada folder in the download? I'm not sure if there would be any file conflicts between PartySwap and M4-78EP yet. If not, then go ahead. If so, let me know which files, that way I can update the mod to be compatible with M4-78. The following files are allowed to be in the override folder (and actually, should already be): 000react.dlg disciple.dlg kreia.dlg spells.2da Anything else may be a problem.

  14. Well, too bad you can't report him on a PM, but all this is telling us is that he hasn't learned his lesson. Also, what about the other mods that he uploaded? Will/Has anything bee(n) done about them? He doesn't understand that the community as a whole has the power to crush him again and again. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't in front of you, but I let a righteous anger turn into something else, and I know that's not the example we want to set.
  15. Yes. A lot of rescripting and DLG Edtitng in the game would be needed. The biggest issue would be influence.
  16. 1.) Sadly, Disciple is the one that gets loaded onto the screen because he has a higher number than Handmaiden in the npc.2da. Handmaiden is '4', while Disciple is '11'. 2.) I remember that happening a few times in KotOR, but I don't recall it happening in TSL. Essentially what will happen if you use this mod is if both of them are available to banter, the game will automatically read the one that has a higher node in the dialog, unless there is(should be) a gender check on that particular line of dialogue. 3.) I can respect that.
  17. Three things: 1.) Yes, because Disciple is available through the Party Selection Screen. 2.) That particular example - I don't remember ever having that happen in the game. Usually for something like that, the entire party spawns outside the ship (like on Nar Shaddaa). 3.) If you're going to use Steam, I'd suggest making sure you install using the TSLPatcher correctly by following the instructions here. (I haven't tried this method of installation, I don't know if it's worth it to get the game on Steam yet.)

  21. Wow, two months without posting here? I seriously have been lacking - or dedicated to the Release thread for PartySwap. Time for a serious update. PartySwap I have released 1.1 in time for it to become obsolete barely two weeks later. I am in the finishing stages of getting 1.2 ready for release, which will include bug fixes and compatibility for TSLRCM 1.8.4. It should be ready for release by Friday. Master Class Robes I have the Lord Robes finished! I put a bit more detail into these ones because I ran out of plain color ideas, so... Lord Robes I have also decided to use the TSLPatcher for this mod, because of the item names and descriptions. This should also be ready by Friday. UPDATE!!! I decided to go ahead and release both of them two days early, seeing as Wednesday has sort of become my day. You'll be able to find both of them through the links provided in the first post.

  23. Apparently, J. J. Abrams was inspecting the next expansion for SWTOR for some reason - the only one which I can think of is "Will it fit my vision?" There is a good chance of getting the KotOR Era out of its 'Legends' funk. Back to topic This only kinda sucks, because I already have the Retail version of the game, and Steam can't really support the TSLPatcher. But I've tried the FW fix and it doesn't work for the movies (why I don't know), so there's that that Steam has going...

If you have something to say or ask that doesn't have a place in this thread, shoot me a PM. Seriously, I don't mind answering your questions if they're asked the right way. Back to topic, thanks to the TSLRCM team and their decision to post the list of files changed in the newest version, and Fair Strides for sending me the files (I really didn't feel like possibly having to reinstall the game again), I'm ready to start looking for the changes.
