Blog #48 - Design my next computer

Undoubtedly. That being said, I still want to express my jealousy at US pricing of electronics. What are the current specs of your PC? -

Ryzen looks promising, especially if you need multi threading. For gaming it appears to be not as good as an intel chip, but only by a small margin. It wins with productivity. That being said, if you need a build now. Here is a fairly meaty PC. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor ($314.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: *Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($73.98 @ Newegg) Memory: *G.Skill Ripjaws Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($169.99 @ Newegg) Storage: *OCZ TRION 150 960GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($239.99 @ Newegg) Storage: *Toshiba X300 5TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($134.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: *Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Windforce OC Video Card ($394.98 @ Newegg) Case: Phanteks ECLIPSE P400S ATX Mid Tower Case ($79.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($95.98 @ Newegg) Total: $1504.89 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-03-02 11:44 EST-0500 If you have money to burn you could upgrade the GPU, but that is probably not that necessary especially at a 1920x1200 resolution. You can also probably change out the 3.5 inch drives to something else, whatever size/ config is your preference. Also. US prices on PC parts are amazing. Very jealous Edit: My formatting will not work on blog comments. -

Trying To Get KOTOR 1&2 original disc copies to full hd??
Xuul replied to magdahalo's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
You want the game to run at 1080p? I have made several videos on the topic. Just ask me if it isnt working K1 K2 For the second game I would highly suggest getting the steam version of the game. Honestly if you add me on steam and send me a message I can probably just gift you a copy of kotor 2, I have 5-6 copies just laying around. -

Feargus said this about TSLRCM, though: "2) Yes [i followed the restoration effort], but I'll be honest not close enough to really have an opinion about the vision. I do need to play KotOR2 again with what they have done."

A giant Rancor on the Unknown World
Xuul replied to djh269's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
There is a random Selkath on the cover so I don't think they worried too much about what was actually in the game, just making it look cool. -
I will once again advocate for some basics being shown. The more people with basic understanding the better.

Just like hackers can hack your computer over power lines and someone can steal your identity with only a voice print from you.
-
I'm sure the new stuff probably is worse, but that doesn't mean a lack of common sense in the now.

Cool episode, Xuul and SH! I wish there was something to break up that long monologue, though, as it gets a bit tiresome to listen to one voice for an extended period of time.

If you would like to continue this "discussion" please consider making a thread. I do not want the constant notifications.

Might I suggest starting with a smaller project first? That way you can develop the requisite skills in order to bring larger projects to life. Most larger modding projects end up never getting finished (or are finished in a sub optimal state). By taking the time to work on a few smaller projects (adding items, NPCs, ect...) you will have a better understanding of what is needed to successfully pursue your larger scope projects. Obviously, I do not want to dissuade you from trying, but I have seen a great deal of modding projects remain incomplete due to the lack of cohesive fundamentals.

Just in case anyone is curious 3 = Trilogy 4 = Quartet 5 = Pentalogy or Quintet Technically a series of 4 should be a "Tetralogy" but that name is seldom used as it sounds fairly bad. Whereas there are several works classified as either Pentaologies or Quintets Edit: Was a bit rude of me to forget to say hello!. Sorry about that. I saw the comments about the podcast in my Youtube comments and will be curious to see how things go for you.

I mean I could just have the videos on my channel, since they would get more views, but I always want to add something when I cover a mod. I could not find a good way to do that. I will have to take a look at it when it launches. I really like the improvements to the textures so far. Edit: Weird double quote removed

I was originally going to make a mod showcase video on them, but every attempt I made ended up not working. Hopefully this makes up for it.

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I made a post, but I finally have a bit of new to share. The Humble Bundle is having its third Star Wars Humble Sale. For a low price you can become the proud owner of many great and classic Star Wars games. This pack includes such classics as Empire at War, Battlefront 2 and Knights of the Old Republic. If you or a friend wants to get some of these wonderful games head over to THIS link and check it out. Act quick, at the time of posting this you will only have 13 days from the time this post was first made public before the sale ends! For those unfamiliar with the Humble Bundle, it features "pay what you want" that allows you to get games at good deals. There is different minimum thresholds of payment that unlocks more games and even physical rewards like shirts. The best part is YOU get to decide where your money is sent (including charity). This deal sends money to Unicef's Star Wars Force for Change that helps improve the lives of children around the world. If you like Star Wars (if not this isn't the website you are looking for) check it out. MOD News In other news, a new version of M4-78 is being tested and should be available to the public some time in the near future. This new version will have the long awaited improved voiceovers that many users have been looking for. We have also seen the release of the first area in the 2.0 version of the KOTOR ULTIMATE texture pack. You can see my video on it here MOD HIGHLIGHT There has been many great mods released since my last post but as usual I will link to a few that I think are worth checking out. This time I want to highlight the awesome set of same sex relationship mods by Leilukin These mods allow players to experience relationships in the game that were normally exclusively heterosexual (including the ability for Darth Sion and a Male exile). These mods not only enable the differing relationships but also re-dub the voiceovers and subtitles for a less disjointing experience. M4-78 Documentary Update Finally, a new episode of the M4-78: A History Documentary series will be released soon. If you haven't seen it you can catch up with it here on my Youtube channel Thanks for reading, have an excellent day.

What is your favorite Star Wars Ship from all eras?
Xuul replied to CrashBandiTeam's topic in General Discussion
I was going to suggest the Tribubble bongo.... However, since you specified that it had to be a spaceship I will have to say the classic Star Destroyer. -
It looks really good. I just checked out the Endar Spire and am quite impressed. Can't wait to see what else you come out with.

How Do *you* Play Kotor and TSL
Xuul replied to Lawkmt3's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I keep meaning to finish Dantooine in Kotor 1... That being said, I always try to "immerse myself" in the game when playing, acting not based on what I think, but what fits better in the game. Fulfilling a story can always make a game more enjoyable. -

I've never played space engineers but it looks interesting.
