  1. I'm totally working right now...
  2. I bought tickets for opening weekend because my youtube comments will spoil me. This way I won't have to turn them off for very long. But I too would appreciate not spoiling things for everyone.
  3. Chrome extension to block you from Star Wars Spoilers (not made by me obviously) http://time.com/4150271/star-wars-chrome-spoilers/

    Particularly ironic choice of words.

  7. That would likely be your issue. The Intel HD3000 and similar cards cause a crash upon character creation. Did you have issues creating a character before following this guide? First, try disabling movies and creating your character. Movies can cause crashes for some people because of the resolution change. If this fails try this guide for intel integrated graphics fixes.
  8. I know this great channel, best one ever in fact. This guy makes these kotor videos... My favorite channels: EngineerGuy Awesome videos on how things work. Linus Tech Tips Technology reviews and other shenanigans. A good way to learn more about PC's and PC gaming. TotalBiscuit FoV sliders in a smooth British accent. (I will admit to being somewhat of a fanboy) Braincraft Philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and other behavioral science. I wanted to include some smaller channels on here but I follow a lot of niche people that are not really worth a blanket recommendation. Also I would include my favorite channel CGP Grey but you said regular so...
  9. My Youtube audience is much older than the average with over 55% older than 25. Females skew lower and are mainly 18-24 years old.

I would be over 25-year-old female, but I don't like watching Youtube videos (Youtube doesn't like me). :|

  10. I can give you some pretty good recommendations, but it really depends on what type of headphones you want. An Over ear headphone at a similar price? Sennheiser HD 429s is good. I used have one before we were robbed about a year back. The HD 471 is an open backed version with a better buttons and a more "open" sound stage (less noise blocking) I haven't used this one but heard good things. If you travel, or want noise cancellation: Bose Quiet Comfort 25 headphones is great but expensive. Something you can use to game with as well? HyperX Cloud 2 has a removable mic, and can connect to a phone/tablet and also to the PC via usb. I use these right now for recording since I obviously can't have my speakers on when making videos. Only plan to use them at home for your home theater/PC? Sennheiser RS 170 Wireless, great range, won't wake up the family. Shoelace swears by them and he is a bit of an asshat a sound snob. Above all don't buy beats unless you want "fashion" headphones.
  11. Alright, I really need to start making videos again. Suggestions?

Kind of curious about the "secret project" we are working on. Hopefully, I can see episode 1 by the 6th. (My birthday.)

  12. It the issue occuring where there should be a cutscene? or after *every* loadscreen That can't be your system specs (because 600GB of ram would be impressive) Do you have a graphics card?
  13. Just released my showcase on High Quality Skyboxes: Check it out

      @Xuul:

Actually, it might just be that you didn't load a savegame from before entering the area the first time. That's probably the reason, I was just asking in case there's a bug.

    2. Xuul

      Xuul

@Kex That would probably be the case. I don't actually have a good set of savegames for Kotor 1 (since eons ago when my LP stopped after my HDD failure.

After this fallout stuff dies down hopefully I can get abck to it

You can always use cheats to load an area up fresh, especially if just to showcase it's skybox.

  14. I guess I have bad timing. I just posted that news article to the front page... That being said. Awesome job, TSLRCM team. I was not expecting another update.
  15. Hello everybody, welcome to Deadlystream, the home of Star Wars gaming. I will (hopefully) be posting fairly regular updates here on the front page with Star Wars related news, media, interviews, mod reviews, and much more. News. With the new movies still on the horizon and battlefront 3 still around the corner right now the big story in the Star Wars community is a new fan theory. I'm sure many of you have heard of the Story of the secret Dark Lord who was really pulling the strings throughout the entirety of the prequel trilogy. Jar Jar Binks. Yes, that Jar Jar Binks the one that for many people is the symbol of everything wrong with the prequel trilogy. This theory to many is a redemption of a saga that irritated the masses in such a profound way. There is an entire subreddit and website dedicated to this theory. It's really interesting and puts a new spin on some otherwise bland films. Even if you think it is insane, give it a read before you judge it, the amount of evidence is surprising, and there are many people interested in finding the truth. Modding. In Modding news there is also a lot to report. Several new mods have been released and while I have been far too busy to create videos for all of them yet, they are worth checking out. High Quality Skyboxes 1.0 A mod that replaces nearly every skybox and backdrop in Kotor 1. They look beautiful and pair really well with a high-quality texture mod. The skies never looked more beautiful. Words really cannot describe this mod so you should download it for yourself. Party Swap While not exactly new... this mod is worth of your attention. This is a mod that allows you to recruit BOTH Handmaiden and Disciple. It also adds an armband that will allow you to replace any member of the current party with Handmaiden. I haven't really had much time with this mod, but I have heard good praise from many people. This mod requires TSLRCM so you needn't worry about incompatibility with that essential mod. Shem's Mods have been added to the website. These mods range from new armors to super enhancements to the game and much, much more. There is no way I can talk about all of them so, just go ahead and check them out for yourself. Just be careful with compatibility as some of these mods won't work with TSLRCM. Animated Galaxy Map is a small mod, but it is well worth downloading. It simply animates the galaxy map from Kotor 1. It fits into the game so well you will only notice when it is not there. There is also some good news from the Sleheyron Project. For the unfamiliar, this project aims to add/restore a cut planet from Kotor 1. With this new revelation the new planet will really feel like the real thing. If you are interested in a sneak peak at this new world you can watch this video to get a small taste of what is to come. Gaming. The battlefront beta has come and gone. The community has had several discussions on the game and the feelings are very mixed. I gave my first impressions of the game and found it to be lacking that spark... But that was only the beta, we will have more to discuss in the next update after the game has been out for a while and we can get a feel for the real thing. The new SWTOR expansion has been released. To many this expansion has redeemed some of the more... questionable... choices this game has made thus far. I have yet to play the expansion but hope, to bring you more news about it in the next update. Further Reading Every update I hope to add a few articles, videos, and other such things that I think are worth your time to look at. Hopefully, this will help you bide the 34 days until the Force Awakens, once again. New Area Knowledge Kotor fan Film (Video) Stories from our first time playing Kotor Awesome Revan & Atris cosplays Bastilla Shan cosplay I'm planning on updating these posts fairly regularly so if you have suggestions or feedback, just let me know via PM.
  16. I think Lili is in the right here. My preliminary analysis of Article 4.9 shows that a lot of it already resembles current US copyright law or some version of an agreement already passed in a TRIP agreement. While this has the potential to make modding illegal unless expressly agreed upon by the rights holders, it will likely that we remain in the same quasi-legal area that we already exist in. If you read § 1201(a)(2)(A) (American Law) you will notice a very similar existing provision. The TTP will require all signors to create laws that are similar to the current US copyright system. This means that any company who wants to shut down a modding project (they can do this already via the DMCA) will be able to do so using legal channels. The government, in general, would also not likely shut down any particular modding project unless it also contained tools that allowed for circumvention of DRM or was for financial gain based on another persons IP. While I am a bit concerned for some of the restrictions on internet freedom, I don't think this will be the end all be all. Developers will continue to "Officially" not notice us and pretend we do not exist, endorse modding officially, or shut anything down. Unless EA decides to not play nice. But they can already do that at any time.
  17. My interpretation as well. For the US I can't see much changing in regards to IP via a trade agreement. Also If anyone has the article that talks about DRM circumvention from the final draft I'd appreciate the link. Edit: Not True. You can read the whole text online here https://ustr.gov/trade-agreements/free-trade-agreements/trans-pacific-partnership/tpp-full-text
  18. Yeah I messed up the corpse pile thing too. I spent ages on Taris.
  19. Awesome. That will really add the feeling authenticity. The areas looked great but due to the design it did feel a bit off having the camera swoop through walls. It's amazing that so many years later things like this are still coming together.
  20. I think my story has all of yours topped: When I first played Kotor I got to the outside of the cantina on Taris. This particular Cantina has a door that needs to be opened; it also has the typical lock picking interface. I attempted to unlock the cantina and got the *impossible* message. I then spent an hour attempting to find how to unlock the cantina. So yeah. I spent hours on Taris trying to unlock a door that wasn't locked.
  21. There is no way to get the update for non steam as of now. But here is what Aspyr said to me (quoted from my blog entry)
  22. Disable grass in the options and see if that helps.
