Installation:

Please install the K1 Community Patch FIRST before this mod!

If you plan on using it, install the Unofficial K1CP Tweak Pack mod SECOND (This mod is optional and is NOT required for this mod to work)!

Once you click on the HoloPatcher.exe, you'll be given a few install options.

1) Main mod: Installs the actual mod (edits over 600 NPCs so this may take a few minutes to install).

2) Player Head Commoners: This install will add new commoner NPCs who use the player heads. This option will greatly diversify the Kotor galaxy as there are so many player head commoners it's unlikely you'll see them twice in one playthrough, and it greatly reduces the already existing generic commoner heads. If a player head commoner uses the player's head, it will be swapped for another head (So if you're playing Mullet Man then the Mullet Man who appears in-game will use a different head). You WILL have to install this option AFTER the main mod.


Description:

As with many modders, I have a vision for a comprehensive NPC Overhaul. This mod is currently in a BETA stage, whilst I don't expect bugs, I do expect player criticism/feedback alongside reports of possible mod conflicts with certain mods... updates will be released to fix any possible bugs, add popular player suggestions, possible hotfixes for incompatible mods and new content as they become possible.

What does this mod do?

This mod is comprised of several smaller mods that have been merged into one big mod, resulting in an immersive NPC Overhaul which is compatible with the K1 Community Patch.

This mod swaps the heads of hundreds of NPCs to prevent the 'clone' effect, it replaces the low poly Lite NPCs with actual NPC appearances, it diversifies the clothing, armor and weapons worn by NPCs without touching any of the NPC Loot drops, it modifies the .GIT files in some areas to remove duplicated NPCs, it swaps the soundsets of over 200 NPCs so that the enemies you fight have a truly random "death grunt" sound as they die and MORE! With this mod, over 600 NPCs will be affected (including NPCs which are commonly affected by other mods). 

It is HIGHLY advised to install this mod (AFTER the K1CP mod) BEFORE you install any new appearance mods. For example, Galaxy of Faces is a mod which adds new appearances. Installing the NPC-DP BEFORE that mod will allow you to have GoF appearances alongside the NPC-DP's NPC Overhaul.


Known Bugs:
This mod shouldn't have bugs, but if there are feel free to report it to me on Deadlystream.


Incompatibilities:
Please report any incompatibilities!

 

Player head commoners are affected by player head reskins, if you install weird player head reskins (The Mullet Man to DC Universe Joker for example) then the player head commoner with Mullet Man's head will use that skin.

That looks like a workable build to me, though maybe install Loot Overhaul before Heart of Beskar. There shouldn't be any problems between the two but if you install Loot Overhaul before then there won't be any chance of Loot Overhaul overwriting any of HOB's loot (very very unlikely, but it's a precaution I would take).

This bug has been fixed!

For everyone else, I've also fixed the Marl soundset bug. I've always avoided the bug because I was correct: Marl is set to the male Jedi Council soundset and he always was, however, the fixes done to the soundsets in RC-K1CP gave the male Jedi Council soundsets all the female sounds instead of the male sounds.

 

RC-K1CP has been updated to correct that bug.

RC-K1CP has been updated to correct that bug.

Most of the randomization has been really good but I'm not sure why you made Sharina Fizark outside the hunting lodge have the same Asian head as little miss protocol officer!

Contrary to popular belief, the Czerka Protocol Officer head is not her unique head. That head is labelled as "Tatooine Asian Female", a commoner head variant that was intended for Tatooine but are occasionally used outside of Tatooine.

Are they meant to be sisters, then? I mean, they're one loading screen apart! Kind of contradicts your aim to reduce the cloning effect, no? 

(Gurney and Igear not being the same young black man model was certainly needed though!)

The NPC Diversity Pack is intended to be a "base" mod, you install this mod first and you'd install other NPC mods on top of it to further enhance the reduction of the cloning effect.

 

I have a mod called the Unused Head Restoration Pack which is planned to be updated soon, you can install that mod to give the Protocol Officer and Tanis unique heads.

Have you seen Galaxy of Faces? Sharina Fizark will have her own unique head in that mod at some point.

Ah, yes, your version of the NPC Overhaul. I did try Kainzorus Prime's 2014 version all the way back in 2016 but had multiple missing heads from the new characters that were inserted!

Unfortunately I am playing as PFHC02 currently and didn't want to see a pallet swap for the Bek doorwoman. I suppose if PFHC01 is not used in GoF for an NPC I would definitely give these two a spin along with your patch for restoration elements that mesh with K1CP.

90% of it should work, though the problem is that one or two NPCs might have the wrong VO.

 

If you're willing to ignore that, then yes there is no harm in using the Alien VO mod.

I've also reached out to Ashton Scorpius to make a compatibility patch for the NPC Diversity Pack series of mods as well since they've done so for other mods.

Whilst my opinions have not changed in regards to the Czerka Protocol Officer's head being generic, I did go ahead and change Sharina Fizark's head so that she uses another generic head.

 

With the new direction I'm taking the mod in, there's a high chance I'll be covering Sharina again in one of the future optional installs (Right now I've added Player Head Commoners).

Been using this mod for a while and I'm a huge fan of it! I do have a small concern though in which certain enemies are replaced to where they have different weaponry altogether, which when combined with mods that tweak AI and weapon scaling can lead to some incredibly difficult fights unintentionally. I can't think of any other mods I have that would replace the weapons or types of enemies these are (an example including Davik's guards now being gamorreans), so would you ever possibly consider an optional installation to only change appearance and not weapons enemies have?
