Your Initial Thoughts When You Played KotOR
Revanator replied to milestails's topic in Knights of the Old Republic General
I was late to the party, didn't play until about 4 years ago. Loved every minute of it. Didn't get into the modding scene until about a year ago. At the time I just loved the story and characters and played it (and the sequel) about 5 or 6 times straight. -
DeNCS isn't working for me. I have JRE installed and DeNCS is in the KT folder. Any suggestions?

As the title suggests, I need the aid of someone who is better than I at graphic design for two separate projects with differing levels of involvement. I'll outline both of them below. 1. Icons The first is simply a request for icons. Pretty simple. I need icons for all K1 player and party starting clothes, as well as about 5 feats. If interested, let me know and I'll give you the details. You'd get full credit in the ReadMe and descriptions wherever it was uploaded. 2. Reskin The second is a much larger project. This is one I'd like to keep a secret for now, but know that it is a full reskin, one I'd like to be in 2048x2048 textures. If interested, contact me and I'll give you the details. For this one, you'd get full co-author credit.

File Name: Mission's Party Portrait File Submitter: Revanator File Submitted: 22 Nov 2016 File Category: Skins K1R Compatible: Yes Yes, this mod is literally just a single .tga file to replace Mission's party portrait. But I swear it's worth it. This fantastic piece of art is from LilyFox and is just so good I had to share (the image is blurred and distorted slightly in this view). This is probably my favorite KotOR party member art piece. A fitting portrait for one of my favorite characters. Installation is simple, just drop into override. I'm working on an update for my party portrait mod and this will be included when that happens. Click here to download this file

So it seems my attempt to create a custom feat was not quite as successful as I had originally thought. It shows up in-game where and when I want it to, the characters I want to have it have it and it's unavailable for selection as I intended, and it functions partially (to test it I created a blaster pistol that required the feat and all that works fine), but 2 things: first, it has no name or icon, and second, it has no properties. I filled out a line in feat.2da for it, but obviously there's something else I need to do. Would I need to add it to dialogue.tlk?

The texture mapping for the model will be all messed up once you resize it like that. That's probably part of the invisible problem. Additionally, with the new model size, lots of other problem will arise with model-to-model contact and animations, I believe. I could be totally wrong on this, so you'll want to check with some of the more experienced modellers.

You need to adjust the textures as well.

Giving a Party Member a Custom Feat

Didn't know about that setting, thanks. -
Giving a Party Member a Custom Feat
Revanator replied to Revanator's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Now, is there a way to have that be a required feat in a weapon or armor uti? Would it basically be the same in K-GFF? -
I've created a custom feat that I'd like to give to a party member (in this case, Carth). How do I do it? I don't see an option to type in custom feat info into Carth's utc.

Kotor Tool merchant editor custom items?
Revanator replied to Hobbes's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Type in the custom resref for your items. When you place the merchant file along with all necessary files for your items into override, it'll show up. It works for placeables and utcs, I think it's the same for merchants. -
It's just the starting class items, for now. Party items are on their way.

Is this a continuation of your original K1 Overhaul?

File Name: Custom Class Items File Submitter: Revanator File Submitted: 18 Nov 2016 File Category: Mods K1R Compatible: Yes A KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC MODIFICATION Author: Revanator Contact: ethan.wookie@gmail.com or contact me at DeadlyStream.com DESCRIPTION: This mod adds 3 custom items for each starting PC class, which can be found in the footlocker in your room on the Endar Spire (the one where you get your first equipment). Each class gets a ranged weapon, a melee weapon, and an armor set. All are upgradeable. The armor set takes the appearance of the standard class clothing. The soldier gets a custom blaster rifle and vibrosword, while the scout and scoundrel get blaster pistols and vibroblades. TAKE NOTE. The upgrade system is very unique. Upgrades are LOCKED until you reach a certain level. This balances the items through your escape from Taris. I did this by adding a required feat for every upgrade. For the scout and scoundrel, they are feats automatically gained already. For the soldier, it's the Toughness feats (which means that if you want to use the items as intended you'll have to choose the Toughness feats as soon as they become available.) You can upgrade the items whenever, but you won't be able to use them until you've leveled-up to the required feat. This ensures that the item is never OP but still is relevant through Taris. INSTALLATION: Copy all files to your override folder. UNINSTALLATION: Delete all files from your override folder. Credits: jc2 for screenshots Kexikus and Fair Strides for help with scripting Fred Tetra for KotOR Tool BioWare for KotOR THIS MODIFICATION IS PROVIDED AS-IS. I HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR GAME OR COMPUTER FROM USING THIS MOD. Click here to download this file

Wait, isn't each category counted separately? So you get one vote per category, right? Those votes wouldn't be split because the voting is separate in the different categories.

That visual enhancement category will be highly contested. Who made High Quality Masks?

Love the idea! Don't think I'll win anything but one can always hope.
