Personally I don't really care that they use Revan. They can't ruin him any more than they already have, so whatever. Last flashpoints ended with Revan showing up, and I was pretty annoyed that it ended just when it was starting to get interesting, so I'm kinda looking forward to that new content It'll be fun to swing a saber at Revan for another 20 minutes! Wait, you have to pay for it? Dammit. Can we at least kill Satele Shan now? : P

Looks like more Epic Bead-v's Cut-scenes. I approve

Right, I forgot about her. There's player's reply to her in dialog.tlk saying "You are Mara's Padawan, aren't you?", which is pretty interesting (who's Mara?). She was most likely supposed to be on M4-78 going by position of her lines in TLK (between IS-24's and L5-65's). Then again, she had 4 lines plus some player's answers, so there's not much to go on I would assume Tourath & Mara we some sort of early version of Vash & Kaah, or maybe there were supposed to be 5 masters at one point, but it was quickly scrapped and Vash was moved to droid's planet instead. It's really impossible to know for sure, though.

Only recorded dialogs were IS-24's, and you can find them in steamvoice/804/IS24. The rest is text-only and you'd have to dig through dialog.tlk file to find it (there were no DLGs left - just the text).

M4-78 for scrapped for time constraints. Planet itself was even shown in the game's official trailer few months before release - I believe the trailer was first shown at E3 a week before droid's planet was cut. Saying "50% different story" is very misleading, as only things left in game files were some main plot points. I'm actually gonna go into some details on what was left, as I don't know if I ever properly explained it. What was left of the story was the fact that Vash was there with her Padawan, M4-78 was offline (shut down by the Sith) and you needed Archon's permission to reactivate him and that Environmental Zone - and the control of ES-05 - was taken over by Kaah who's gone mad. Also the fact that Sith were pretending to be the colonists but were dead by the time player arrived. Actually, most of Kaah's dialog in the Environmental Zone, when he's pretending to be ES-05, were Obsidian's. I did some rewrites but nothing major. There were some voice overs for IS-24, the Industrial Archon. He only had 10 lines recorded though, compared to 60+ in M4-78EP. Obsidian left a very brief dialog with the other Archon, ES-05. There were just some basic questions - who are you, what do you do, something about Kaah, asking about re-activating M4-78. Some of left-overs lines for her were used in M4-78EP, but I had to write a lot of dialog on my own. Same situation with Kaah. I thought there were some lines left for LS-44 (Landing Arm droid) as well, but I can't find any now, so maybe I'm mis-remembering something now. I thought there were some lines for him informing us about radiation, but I can't find them. Radiation idea itself was also Obsidian's; Vash, Kaah and IS-24 all had lines about it. There's also a datapad description saying that re-activating four power stations in the Central Zone would increase L5-65's effectiveness. We ran with the idea and tweaked it, so it was required to re-activate them in order to proceed. I don't think we'd have had that puzzle without original datapad's description. Also, there were bunch of puzzles but they were all moved to Goto's Yacht right after the planet was cut (the Yacht itself was designed in less than a week, IIRC, and it's possible it would be scrapped as well if they couldn't move M4-78 puzzles). And that's pretty much all there was for the planet. There was not a single line for M4-78 himself or any proof that we were supposed to talk to him (though what are the chances we weren't?). No indication of any kind of "droid's quest" for clearing the radiation (although tlk has some lines that look like their supposedly HK-47's, asking about M4-78). No conversation with any other droid, or any indication of what each place of each area was. Industrial Zone was also most likely supposed to be more combat heavy, at least in the end, since player had an option to ask IS-24 "Why did your droid attack us?" or something along those lines. So anyway, there was maybe 10% of the planet left, but that's being pretty generous

I can imagine modelling the inside could take a while

Cool stuff... try digging up some 2009 vids for a REAL then-and-now comparison

A tease . . . of the next version of M4-78 EP
zbyl2 replied to Hassat Hunter's topic in M4-78 Enhancement Project
Yes, as there are two different force field operators. -
Basically, all the information on animated cameras in KOTOR games are stored inside .mdl file. However, game requires MDX be present for every MDL file or the game will crash. Regular models use both, animated cameras only read data from one but still require both to be present to run properly in game. We could put them in .mod files. In fact I think some of M4-78's animated cameras are stored inside 80*DRO.mods. Most of them are in override though as I'm used to putting mdls in there, and it's less likely to cause issues if you were to use the same animation in two different modules.

You can swap your dialog.tlk with English one for the duration of M4-78 (and the end of Korriban's academy) and it will work fine, without DLG Converter. Just remember to swap it back after the planet is over or you'll run into some issues later, as I assume you have German TSLRCM installed.

To be honest it does seem like he's commenting on series as in a series of videos (a whole walkthrough), not the game. And if it's the game, then... who cares? There's bunch of people who dislike KOTORs for whatever reason and I don't see why you would start a thread about this particular individual and go as hard on him. I mean, I've seen people claiming Fallout 3 is a good game and I don't start threads about them (even though with that crowd, ZM90's "screw this guy" reaction would be perfectly appropriate).

Hi! Looks like you are trying to run M4-78EP on non-english version of KOTOR II. It is not compatible with languages other than English, but there is a work around for it. You could use TLK Editor, open up your dialog.tlk and set language to English, starting in Vash's room, until the end of M4-78. Sorry for the inconvenience and a late reply.

2014? Is it the one with Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, Guardians of the Galaxy and Capaldi as the Doctor? Tell you what, it's gonna be a whopper. Happy new year!

So... "Honorable Mention" in MODDB's Mod of the Year awards, huh? Not bad, not bad at all.

Question about TSLRCM and M4-78 (French Version of game)
zbyl2 replied to Seleucos's topic in M4-78 Enhancement Project
You'd have to get English dialog.tlk - it's easy to find if you google it. If you do it, remember to backup TLK file of your language version first, and swap it back after M4-78. -
Question about TSLRCM and M4-78 (French Version of game)
zbyl2 replied to Seleucos's topic in M4-78 Enhancement Project
Bit of a late reply but yes. Empty MDX files are used for animated cameras; all the data is stored inside MDL file of the same name but MDX is required as to not crash the game; even if said MDX is empty. It doesn't really make sense but hey, that's TSL engine for you -
Question about TSLRCM and M4-78 (French Version of game)
zbyl2 replied to Seleucos's topic in M4-78 Enhancement Project
Donatino88: t3m4.dlg, which you can find in the override, should fix your issue. To be safe, you can convert all dlgs you can find in your override to your language - can't go wrong with that. Keep in mind that others have reported crash in the droid planet's modules after language conversion. I haven't investigated myself but you may consider running a game with English dialog.tlk for the duration of the planet. -

M4-78 retrospective review by zbyl, the Lead Himself
zbyl2 replied to zbyl2's topic in M4-78 Enhancement Project
Wow, nice! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it enough to stick around after finishing the main plot I guess he didn't think about that (removing an order to kill him). He was too focused on disabling/changing M4-78. Difference between Kaevee and Kaah in this case is that with Kaevee, her character is a pure restored content and so we're sticking with what Obsidian wrote, and there were designer notes saying that she runs off. With Kaah we had much more freedom, as only content left for him are few lines of dialog, and all we know about his fate is what Vash says - that he's either alive or dead. You could say that M4-78 is similar to G0T0, but on a much smaller scale. While G0-T0 goes beyond his programming to save the galaxy, M4-78 only really cares about his colony - his droids, and he saw Vash as a threat (everything on the planet started going downhill when she arrived, after all ;d), but none of it was explained very well. That is not a bad idea at all -

List of features for subs vs prefs vs full F2P http://www.swtor.com/free/features I recommend 30-days sub to get preferred status (that's what I did). It's pretty cheap nowadays (~$10 in my country) and if you play the game regularly, you'll get your money's worth out of it. And for those 30 days, you'll benefit from it much more than from $5 cartel pack (which is I believe the cheapest way to get pref). I wouldn't buy Hutt Cartel expansion until you play some more, see if you like the game enough first.
-
Yes, you can still become pref, you just have to buy something with real money (either sub or cartel coins).
