WARNING: IN ALMOST ALL CASES, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL THE K1R RESTORATION BEFORE ANY OTHER MODS!!! THE ONLY EXCEPTION SO FAR IS KAINZORUS PRIME'S NPC OVERHAUL...

 

The KotOR 1 Restoration Mod is an attempt to restore almost all the content that was cut from the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic by BioWare Corp. Of course, these restorations will be within reason and things that were cut because they did not fit with the plot, and cannot be made to fit with the plot, will most definitley NOT be restored.

There weren't too many bugs in KotOR 1, thus there is such a short list.

» INSTALLATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An installation which involves the TSL Patcher has been made ready for your use and is the simplest and easiest way to carry out installation.

 

Alternatively, a secondary installer has been made for convenience. It will not patch the files like the TSL Patcher will, but it should be less of a headache for most users. HOWEVER, IT WILL NEED TO BE INSTALLED BEFORE ANY OTHER MODS!!!

 

Note: The K1R team is not responsible for any incompatibility issues that may arise from the use of this mod in conjunction with other mods. Also, in order to provide the best feedback for us we recommend that you play K1R with NO other mods installed.

 

Note 2: If using the TSL Patcher AND your game is in English, before installing, copy the dialog.tlk file bundled with this package into the KotOR directory. This will give you the grammar and typo fixes to the vanilla text.

1) Double click K1R_1.2_Installer.exe found in the main directory of the unpacked folder.
2) Click the button labeled Install Mod.
3) Click yes to the box that'll pop up... if you wish to proceed with installation.
4) Watch as all the little file names and progress reports scroll by and wait until the installer is complete.

Just a heads up. When Juhani joins in Dantooine she still doesn't wear his jedi robes or his lightsaber.

I've downloaded it but it doesn't seem to install, cant find it in my directory, nor when I lunch the game it doesn't say its the updated content. Any help would be good

I have a problem with downloading the restoration. i get 7 errors occur everytime i download it. it downloads quite a few files but then says 7 errors occured and the rest of it just stops please help me. Me and a friend really wanna play this.

I have tried DLing this a couple times now, and i keep getting a message as the file Unzips from the application to the folder- I always get a message that several .wav files are not found. any help?

I have an annoying bug on Dantooine. When I enter Matale Grounds (doen't matter wich entrance I use) or just traveling on them, lightsaber or vibroblade in hands just disapears from char's hands (and bastila's). If I put on another weapon on them and make a few steps, bug happens again. Also the mandalorians in Matale Grounds are inactive - just standing there and not aviable to talk or fight.

I don't think it's the problem with K1R, because I have K1R installed with like 50 more mods and I haven't encountered anything similiar on my playthrough, maybe it's some other mods?

I thought about that too, and I've tried many reinstalations of the game itself and the mods one by one. So I'm sure the issue is in K1R. Well, I don't realy care about it anyway, it's just one sidequest. The mods I have installed atm is NPS Overhaul, K1R, BOS and some model/textures replacements (prequel robes, saberhilts, saberblades and etc.).

I'm not sure, but I believe NPC Overhaul isn't compatible with K1R? Maybe it's NPC Overhaul... not sure though.

There is most likely a conflict with the saberhilts mod. I just played through Dantooine and had no issues with the Mandalorians (had issues with the murder mystery side quest though) or with the Matale Grounds/Melee weapons, but I also haven't installed NPC Overhaul or any hilt replacements. I have had similar issues with melee weapons disappearing on Taris, and ended up uninstalling Rece's lightsaber mod to fix the issues (that mod uses a few files in common with K1R in the override folder, so they don't play nice together). However, when you troubleshoot, you should know that if a mod breaks your game, even if you uninstall the offending mod, the issues may persist upon loading any saves which contained any of those issues. You may need to go back a save or two in order to test mod compatibility. Have you checked the install logs on any mods which mod melee weapons? If a mod skipped over files which already existed and did not modify/append them, that mod will probably conflict with whatever mod installed those files first, and if you kept the install logs and backups, you should be able to backtrack and find which mods use the same files.

Oh, also, I've had funny things happen to my swkotor.ini file once the game was broken by a mod conflict, so I keep a clean one backed up now. You might want to look it over and make sure nothing's off.

I've actualy started a new game several times to check mod conflicts and mods issues and ran through taris to dantooine and other planets except korriban and the bug I mentioned is the one and only issue I had. No bugs on ES (i have 'jedi from the start' installed), no issues on taris (all K1R stuff works fine here), no issues no dantooine's other areas and etc. From korriban - well, BOS has it's own bugs that has nothing to do with dantooine.

I didn't know Jedi from the Start was compatible with K1R? Please do tell me if you manage to complete the game without any game breaking bugs I want to use it aswell :)

I've installed JftS after the K1R and the only bugs I had were early mentioned dantooine Matale Grounds issue, and some minor BOS part bugs, wich may or may not be BOS specific - not sure about those (companions on Orion where there should be none, abnormal character levelups inbetween BOS parts (skill grows like +10-20, levelup each time on zone reentering (actualy funny, after lvl 20 you became 0 with lvlups to 20))). Anyway the main story was running smooth and nice:)

I'm having problems on Taris: My game keeps crashing at that point when calo nord shoots down those rodians in the under city appartments and when he kills those 3 guys bothering him in the under city cantina respectively. Any idea how to solve that problem?

 

game language is german by the way and no other mods are installed...

To those of you having trouble with the installer or the 7Z file - download the free 7Z application and use it to copy the 7Z's contents into an uncompressed folder, then run the TSLPatcher executable. That was the only combination that worked for me.
