Thinking of removing TSLRCM from the Workshop
Fair Strides replied to Hassat Hunter's topic in TSLRCM
Well, to be fair, Menirz had uploaded KSE shortly after Filefront died, and I just didn't want to fight. So we agreed that he'd be the Steam maintainer. -
Thinking of removing TSLRCM from the Workshop

Little hard to not do the jab. As to the PS, why do you think I have Menirz and Pazuzu156 doing the Steam KSE stuff? -
Thinking of removing TSLRCM from the Workshop
Fair Strides replied to Hassat Hunter's topic in TSLRCM
Speaking from experience with KSE, no. At most, you can mark someone as a contributor, but they won't have any real access/edit privileges. I'm glad you at least listened to Aspyr and not all of your friends or comrades that are involved in the community, Hassat... This issue seems to be resolved, but I just want to try to give a little bit of advice here: When you (your name, face, and/or image) are public and publicly known, especially for something like TSLRCM or building a game, you take on a certain amount of Public Relations duties and (though you might not agree) are given some responsibilities to the public in the process. For example, if you make and upload a mod to the public, you're seen as being responsible for supporting that mod unless and until you pass that responsibility off to someone else. If you make a video game, you're responsible for releasing patches to fix issues. And the same goes for almost anything programming-related, like my modding tools. And though most seem to forget that everyone's human, when you're public, you're constantly scrutinized and observed for your behavior. People like their celebrities or popular people to be upstanding guys/girls, and when they do something bad or get angry, everyone gets to hear about it because "that's not how they're supposed to act!" From just about any perspective, it looked like you were mixing personal matters with your role as a creator/maintainer of TSLRCM, and it never ends well when you mix personal and "business" matters... But I'm glad you decided not to do this in the end, Hassat Hunter. I know you're better than that. -
UTI question from a nooby modder
Fair Strides replied to Elwood288's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
As far as the Description, you'll need to copy the Unidentified's text to the Identified's area, replacing what's already there. That's a legacy piece from Neverwinter Nights. -
UTI question from a nooby modder
Fair Strides replied to Elwood288's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
I can't make out anything in the last picture. But I will note that the changes will only take effect if you get a new copy of the item. (so saving before getting the item and then cheating it in usually works) -
Basically, the way the DLG files work is if the node has a String Reference of -1, it's a custom text in the file itself. If the String Reference is 0 or higher, then it references the dialog.tlk file. I should also note that the game will only recognize a dialog.tlk file if it's in the main game folder, not the override folder. Lastly, were there any issues with the conversion back to TLK from TXT? I ask because as the black window will tell you, I laid out a pretty strict formatting.

At the risk of being labelled a traitor, that list almost seems obscene... I've got 4CD and Steam and that's it! Don't even use the Steam sometimes.

UTI question from a nooby modder
Fair Strides replied to Elwood288's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
Also, you will need to keep the same filename, and in the case of KotOR 1, the .uti CANNOT be in a sub-folder in the Override folder. -
As always, DP, I'm amazed at how quick your turnaround is... Pardon my speaking frankly, but... how the hell do you do it so fast?!
-
Alternatively, there's my TLK->TXT and TXT->TLK utilities over in the Modding Tools section of the Downloads.

I'll bet no, since about 90% of the actual functionality of the GUI is hardcoded. We can change the appearance and shape, and in the rare case of health/FP bars, the direction of the elements, but we can't change the actual functionality.

Probably taken from there when the video was rendered.

Also, I assume all the if parts are supposed to all count towards spawning the NPCs, correct? If so, you'll need something more like this as an extra safety measure: Since all of your if statements weren't connected and dependent on each other, they weren't working together to pin down when this action occurred. That would at least explain why it was always triggering. As to whether it's repeatable, you would have to try the code above and see if it repeats. If it does, then I will advise you to look at the comment at the beginning of the spawning section. Also, if you need me to explain anything about my changes, just let me know.

No manual installation, but I would recommend trying this: http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/3156-mac-how-to-install-mods-for-kotor-1-2/

The uploader is not the original author, nor are they in contact with Silveredge 9. I can ask S9 for permission, but not sure when (or if) it'd be given. Also, is it that the NPC Overhaul replaces the character file, or is it to do with the appearance.2da file being overwritten?

Okay, I'm finally getting around to fixing this mod, but there are some really basic things that I need to know, and I can't go by assumptions at this point: 1. Where in Vanilla + TSLRCM does G0-T0 appear in ALL of his instances? 2. Where in M4-78EP does G0-T0 appear in ALL of his instances? 3. What end-game events can occur in Vanilla + TSLRCM that involve G0-T0, and what are the possibilities? 4. What end-game events can occur in M4-78EP that involve G0-T0, and what are the possibilities? 5. Where do all of G0-T0's droids (that look just like him) appear besides 351NAR and 352NAR (G0-T0's Yacht, both cutscene and actual level)?

Creating Robes At The Workbench
Fair Strides replied to GrandmasterArcturus's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
It seems they have a skill requirement around 19-21. Going by that, you could try cheating the skill up that high and then trying again. I seem to recall that the game hides the items that are out of your maximum skill range, but I'm not sure. -
Okay, but did you remove all the mods before this issue, and even more importantly, did you have a save in this area (or after having visited this area) when you removed the mods? Some data is saved in the save game, so just removing mods isn't always advised. And considering that I still don't know what mods you had/have, I don't know what might have affected Rulan...

How to make a custom skin for an alien NPC

Just... Send me the .mod and all of your edited files (NOT the files from the resources folder, just the ones you've edited).

*Raises hand* I approved it. There was no note or anything that I could find to explain why it had been unapproved, and the author didn't know why either when I asked them... It's been hidden at the request of the author while he works on a patched version.

Well, Mission, Juhani, and Jolee all have their own version of a "What happened?" line to play here. They won't all play it (I think the order is Juhani > Jolee > Mission); you'll only see one. I think someone above mentioned having Carth's line play while they were still on the Leviathan... I think I could probably throw it in during that scene where you and Carth running towards the Ebon Hawk. Hmm...
