I was a computer science major so doing a little deep diving and tinkering to make things work does not bug me. ! am doing the skins installs now and will pop back in when I get to the parts I still have questions on. Install Questions (in order of urgency) Visual Effects: What visuals effects do I want to not overwrite as they look better than the mods lower on the list of mods 36-38? Modules: I am using the mod a leveling fix so it takes double the xp to level up and still want to hit level 20. I am using Brotherhood of Shadow:Solomon's Revenge and Tatooine Job Office with patch, & ORD Mandell. Does Yavin IV work with these mods, and do I need it to hit level 20 with double xp to level? If I don’t need it to hit level 20 is it good enough to get anyway? Dialogue Part 2: Will [K1 Taris Sith Base Dialogue Enhancement play friendly with K1 Restoration? Also mods 60-63 give options to kill or force choke charaters in dialogue will this work with K1 Restoration without manual editing, I don’t think I want to spoil the dialogue to edit them. If I move these files to the end of the install and remove them if I encounter a bug will my save game still work when the mods are removed? VarsityPuppet 1,085 Posted January 20, 2016 Since you are a computer science major, I highly recommend using version control (I use git) to manage your installations. If something does go wrong, it's easy enough to revert the changes. Also, without looking too closely at things, do the Environment Graphics directly after the patch, Widescreen and reshade effects. Start with anything that puts major files like 2DAs in the Override folder without using TSLPatcher. If you have mods like that that use the same file, you'll need to create your own custom merges, or convert them to use TSLPatcher instead. Second: 37. Droid 3 ModDB by XediiXarwarz does this retexture HK? <retexure, requires Xnview to install> 41. K1_DP_HK_Droid Nexus Mods by XediiXarwarz after K1 NPC Overhaul <retextures HK> HK SWTOR-Style is by me (not XediiXarwarz). It completely replaces HK with a new model. Simple retextures of the vanilla model won't affect it, but it is not compatible with any mods that edit HK's entry in appearance.2da (unless my mod is installed afterwards, in which case it will overwrite whatever was there previously). DarthRevan101 104 Posted January 20, 2016 Seeing things like this makes me realise how lax I've been about using mods on my game, I used to download tons of mods all at once and don't worry about compatibility until I boot up the game. Thanks varsity puppet I am checking out Git and seeing how that plays with KMM and TSL patcher. My last game of Skyrim had 169 mods after I dialed it down from about 185 and my last Fallout 3 & New Vegas both were in the 150 neighborhood so I know to check every 20 or 5 or 40 (depending on what mods skins I have done) to make sure the game doesn't crash and burn and not even make it to the load screen. The modules part 2 and the dialogue part 2 are the parts I am worried about, after doing the textures down to Dialogue, Bug fixes, Restoration & Rebalance I will deep dive into NPC Overhaul and see what is changed to see how to proceed. Fair Strides 509 Posted January 20, 2016 I will be going down your list one at a time: PC Response Moderation works on the Endar Spire currently, not sure how far beyond that it goes, and I'm not sure if its changes would be overwritten by K1R or not. Party on the Leviathan has a slight oversight in the installer that I will be patching shortly, but there is a script in the tslpatchdata folder called "k_plev_freecs2.ncs" that will need to be manually moved to the override folder. I am not sure, but the Endar Spire dialog should be good to go for K1R. At this time, NPC Overhaul is not compatible with K1R, due to shared level files and NPC Overhaul doing all of its changes inside the actual levels themselves and then replacing the .mod files already in the modules folder if they exist. On the Vulkar Coward Redux, that's up to you. I think the pure vanilla option doesn't actually work with K1R, though. Basically, if you want the guy to look and talk like a Twi'lek instead of looking and talking like a Human (as is done in K1R), use this mod. Ord Mandell is a fun mod, and definitely will keep up with challenging you. I haven't installed it in a while, though, so I forget how it installs. Same with Yavin IV. The next four mods I've either only used once (the Korriban Crystal Caves mod) or never (the rest), so I can't really speak on them. The entire Character Models section should be fine, but pay special attention to what Darth Parametric said. Honestly not sure how the Bastila Romance Enhancement will play with K1R, since I believe ZM90 edited her dialog file. The Sunry Murder Recording is already integrated into K1R. Black Vulkar Soundfix should be safe to use. The Cutscene mod is not actually cutscenes. It's editing the audio of the videos the game plays, but that should be safe to use. I'd be careful with the Korriban Workbench, as I recall talking to the author about it once, but I forget if that was in relation to K1R or not... Never use the Xia Tarashei mod. I am not at all sure how the K1 Enhancement Pack's stuff will work out. Weapons of the Old Republic will probably overwrite a bit of the stuff from Weapon Models Overhaul and the Vibrosword mods, and you will need to delete several .utc files (I'm not sure which ones, you'd need to ask Malkior) to work on the Leviathan and some spots afterwards. I made some major trims due to your advice from the parts that were really worrying me. Your probably right that Xisko's Holster mod is not worth it as it takes an armband slot, which I believe is a gear slot, not wasting that just to put my weapons up. I think the Bastila romance is just the 5 second cutscence and nothing else not to be confused with the Romancing of Bastila which was 5 mods in 1, Restoration might have already gotten that part. The K1 Enchancement pack should not be a problem as I am only using his robes and armor textures nothing more, Someone should probably upload it as parted out mod, as he left his mod as a source for others (crediting him of course). Same with Hardcore Tachia's Style 2011 by Qui Gon Glenn, he open sourced the code for usage by his last statement linked below. He ended up figuring out the same thing as Tachia, that the Charima modifer on Jedis never correctly loads and that most enemies don't even call the k_def_buff as they are supposed to as noted in the comment left by the designers. His implementation does it as a sub script that plays much friendlier with other mods vs hard-coding in the master script. Here is both SpaceAlexs and Qui Gon Glenn's posts on Lucas Forums, not sure if the wording in the forums is enough to copy the file from GameFront over to here and I am not uploading anything though as without explicit permission that I did not write personally. The UTC files you are referring to are bastila02.UTC through bastila06.UTC Any mod that adds these files into the Override is incompatible until those specific UTCs are removed when running with K1R. peacy66 0 Posted February 11, 2016 Well you could use exarkun i always play it with yavin iv they both use a different panel to teleport u to there respective modules....works well together with i think some editing in 2das!!And i was using a similar build on my last kotor run and i got into problems with wath i think is a limit in 2da files maximum lines(not sure that was the cause but all my appearances.2da info was accurate, and i had some guys not looking what they were supposed to ex: xwing pilot was mathilda from BOSSR) and it happened that those mixed appearances were the few last entries in my appearances.2da. But im a noob i could be totally wrong!!!!;p Also the jassat kel tomb (or something like that) is a fun mod but always bugging with lashowe being unkillable, not gamebreaking but i guess a good modder woulld know how to fix this, seems a problem with the .dlg file or a script firing wrong. I wanted to ask, how do the Environment graphics, specifically XediiXarwarz's 2012 retextures interact with High Quality Skyboxes?I had a crack at modding my game again the other day and the Taris 2012 retexture at least had some backdrops of it's own. In any case, I've overwritten the world retextures with HD skyboxes and there was an issue with Taris, transparent textures cause of the shine in the 2012 pack and a bit of an odd mesh between that pack and Skyboxes.I haven't tested all of them, inlcuding Jorak Uln's complete overhauls, but if anyone has some insight or advice, I'd appreciate it Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Kexikus 995 Posted March 14, 2016 Looks like some of Xediis background textures used .txi files, where my skybox mod doesn't. Search your Override folder for them and then delete them if they are remnants of the overwritten 2012 pack.
