Hello all. I am currently in the hospital and may be here up to a week. Without going into medical details, I'd just ask for any mod questions for me be held until I announce my return home. Thanks and I hope to see you all sooner rather than later.

Gauging interest: Would you want a mod where T3-M4 sounds like their K1 self in TSL? Would you want a mod where T3-M4 sounds like their TSL self in TK1? It's not an either/or situation as if I f do finish this, I'll be releasing both versions.

Weird question, but what is the syntax Kotor 1 uses for its clothing meshes? I've scoured Kotortool up and down, yet I can't seem to find them.
-
Yeah, I've only ever used Kotortool to extract textures and in rare occasions, generic models like vehicles for example, so I only know very specific places to find the assets. It's funny that just focusing on one specific thing every time creates these misconceptions such as mine where there was only one place to find a filetype.

Turns out I didn't realize there are other BIF file folders with their own models in Kotortool. For some reason I assumed "Models.bif" was the only one containing MDL files..
(For anyone following, the folder I was looking for was "Player.bif")
Additionally, there are other filetypes than just MDL files such as scripts and GUI in the other BIFs, so I believe they are actually just a generic storage format that I just happened to know contain the models. There's probably a tutorial somewhere that I missed which explains BIF file format in detail, but I guess I missed it..
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate the info and I will continue to post as I learn new things to hopefully demystify these files for laymen such as myself.

Out of curiosity, is there texture generating program (Preferably free) that you guys swear by?
I've been doing this thing manually forever and I'd like to find some tools to speed it up a bit.

If memory serves, Jorak Uln's TGAs were saved incorrectly, with what supposed to be the bottom-left origin was instead top-right. Does that result in the texture being backwards, upside down, or both? I plan to correct all of these manually to remove any need for XnView so any information would be helpful.
And in other news, I'm typing this from new computer.

Took a whole bunch of iterative fiddling with replacement UVs and edited/added meshes, but here's the end result of my first lightmapping test with KBlender:
https://darthparametric.github.io/KOTOR_Lightmap_Rebakes/stunt_55a.html
Thanks to @seedhartha for adding that feature to KBlender. Works pretty well once you have everything dialled in.
This version is for K1CP. Now I just need to make some slight revisions to the version for my Dark Side Ending Cutscene Enhancement mod (mainly just baking shadows for the different stunt crowd).

I've heard something about a 4GB memory patch for TSL, what benefits does this provide and will Steam users be able to use this or is only compatible with the 4CD EXE?

Has anyone seen this Ebon Hawk animation?
This is genuinely amazing

I've honestly never had a site force me to leave so quickly.
Nexus TOS: https://users.nexusmods.com/tos#RightsYouAre
Yeah, originally I thought this was going to blow over, but I can't keep using a site that forces me to sign those kind of terms.

Whose ready for some Star Wars ANIME?!?!
-
Well, there is a precedent for this, The Animatrix, but it's fairly old (for many people) so I don't know if many remember it. I find it ironic that everyone says Disney is "targeting the anime crowd" when anime multimedia events were somewhat common back then, and every part of this looks like the Animatrix did.
One thing I can say is, if the directors of each episode is anything close to what I saw before, we should be in for some truly unique and visually stunning takes on Star Wars as a mythos.

Does anyone know how I can fix certain textures that are supposed to shine but instead become transparent in KOTOR 1?

Unsurprising and hardly unexpected. There's a reason in some courts there is such a standard as "Innocent until proven guilty".
Whenever people say, "You support X person? Haven't you heard what they did?" I always ask, "Do you have proof?" and then change the subject.
The fact that one spiteful rumor can completely ruin someone's career and their impression by society is a troubling systemic issue especially present in the Gaming industry.

Tales of the Jedi - The Great Sith War vol 1-6 out in the wild.
Almost got em, but not about to start collecting. Omnibus is better -
I have returned, and I would like to ask everyone to stop uploading my work without asking. JDub, sorry, but no.
-
Indeed. I understand wanting to continue a mod that you perceive has been abandoned, but at the very least respect the author enough to ask their permission when you do so.
This also becomes important when you don't understand what the author's original plans were or exactly how the mod originally functioned.

Just rewatched the prequel trilogy. It was worse than I remembered. George Lucas has no talent as a writer.
Star Wars must be an accident.

I feel that this is partially substantial, but I also just found out that Alan Dean Foster was the one who wrote the Star Wars A New Hope novel (Which had surprisingly decent writing and of which I had been crediting to Lucas' ability).. That said, the entire story was still his idea that Foster was able to translate into some very interesting backstory.
Star Wars was sort of an accident, but George Lucas did have a way with finding off-the-wall stuff and combining them in entertaining ways. (Just don't use his ideas in their original form..)

Why am I just now hearing about this?...-
Filefront and Lucasforums had some time to prepare for. They probably figured they'd get similar warning instead of something like the server room literally burning down.
It does hold a bit of a message though.. back up your information if you can, because it could all disappear overnight no matter how secure you think it is.
