  1. With the advent of reasonable AI voice facsimiles, I have a request for a tutorial on how to add a G0-T0 type filter to voices.  One catch in the request is I'd love to tutorial to use software that is free for the public to use so no one is gated by a paywall.  I've found a HK-47 filter long ago which I've already promoted elsewhere but G0-T0's filter eludes me.

    Thank you for your attention.

People are saying the Republic did something to cripple the kolto production here on Manaan, but I don't believe it. Sounds more like something the Sith would do.

Counterpoint: The conversation takes place on Manaan so isn't saying "on Manaan" putting a fine point on it when it clearly isn't needed? Just remove the words "on Manaan" from the quote and you have it made!

Because I've added AI generated VO for several of the female Republic Soldiers on Manaan and in my biased opinion the VO is surprisingly realistic. Check out the mod and judge for yourself!

Video with the some or all of the new AI lines that were added, please?

And from what voice actress was the voice AI sampled from?

  4. That would work better if the drawers (grey rectangles) were in the middle of the red cabinet so the monitors could seen in the cutscene shown above. I am sure I could find pictures to fill the other squares, especially if they were separated out to individual textures.  (Having it way, I could use different frame lengths so they wouldn't be synchronized with each other.)

Off topic: This is a long message for me to type on a phone.

  5. I'm making a request for an alteration med-bay to the Ebon Hawk as it is in the prologue of the game.  (I figure limiting this to only the prologue version of the EH may make things easier for this actually be done.)

Anyway, if we all recall , the Exile is unconscious in the med-bay for the prologue.  I happen to have a EKG graphic which I previously used in another mod of mine.

    vlHhS55.gif

After doing some clean up in it, I figure I'd be able to use it again.  I thought it might be useful to see the graphic on the bulkhead over the med-bay bed.  (See green outline in image below for the best probable position.) And the name of the texture that you'd be attaching to the position above the Exile should be something that isn't already in the original game.

    jMPzJhV.png

Those that want to go the extra mile and ghave something that would be present through the entire game, that is also acceptable.  (It may help distract a bit from Visas awkward unconscious position after you defeat her.)

Even if you don't feel like working on this yourself: If you have any suggestions to folks that are willing, to do so, please drop a comment below.

  6. Ebon Hawk Cockpit Upgrade (LEH_Scre01) [Less Subtle Version]

    L4hmwMV.png

    MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: 22 MAR 2023

GAME: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords

    Description:

This mod replaces the LEH_scre01 textures found around the Ebon Hawk include much of the Ebon Hawk but as best remembered being seen around the Galaxy Map. The previous version will still be available for completists but I consider this version to be the definitive version. This is the “Less Subtle” version.  (The “More Subtle” version is available here.)

As before, the Galaxy Map texture is not included in this mod.

Previously on Battlestar Galactica in the description: When Xarwarz was working on a sample of a monitor texture for the Ebon Hawk back in 2016, I had suggested to him that it could use a bit of animation to liven it up. Towards that end, I asked Quanon if he could render out a frame frames of a wire-frame model of the Ebon Hawk. I added in some sine wave activity and threw in some Aurebesh for good measure. One of the monitors was now animated. (and so on . . . )

Now:  The texture has doubled in size allowing more detail. Only two of Xarwarz’s frames remain from the original texture. Both of those have been AI upscaled, had fresh text placed on them, and have had some extra animation added to them.  The animation on these two frames as in the original – is subtle.  (Well, subtle for me anyway.)

The other two frames have been remade.  One still uses Quanon’s wireframes but since the texture is now larger, I didn’t have to resize his captures nearly as much.  New text was added here as well.  And the other frame is a brand new animation made from scratch.

The texture uses the same background surrounding the monitors as my More Subtle LEH_Scre01. So, if you switch between them, it won’t be a total change up.

    Installation:

For either game – If already present in your Override folder, delete LEH_scre01.tpc, LEH_scre01.tga and LEH_scre01.txi (or move them to your Desktop)

Then after extracting the contents of the 7z file, choose from the Overlay and Non-Overlay folders which TPC file you wish to use for your Ebon Hawk and place it in your Override folder.

    To Uninstall:

Delete LEH_scre01.tpc from your Override folder.

    Known Bugs:

None known at this time. If you do encounter one, please note it on the download page and tag me in the comment.  I’ll see if I can work out out the issue.

But besides that, couldn't all the warp codes for each Kotor module be found online?

If I were simply limiting myself to the vanilla KotOR1 and TSL modules, then I'd say: Yes, you can find these all online.

But if you check out the logs below, you'll see I didn't limit myself to those vanilla modules.  It is in fact why the blogs were made in the first place.

Check out the beginning of this blog for information!

And check out this one too if the idea of the first blog interests you.

    Edit:

Looks like I've got my answer via KOTOR Reddit Discord thanks to @Leilukin and @JCarter426.. Let me quote liberally so others can know how to do this too. Leilukin answers my first question above with:

    Quote

Yes, with the easiest method being using Holocron Toolset, the modern alternative to KotOR Tool. First you need to set up Holocron Toolset to read your KotOR directories, then select a KotOR game and wait for the app to load the game files of your KotOR game.

To find out the area name of a .MOD file, go to the Modules tab, open the drop down menu of the Modules tab, and look for the .MOD file you want to find. Once you have selected the .MOD file from the drop down menu, open the Module Data toggle list below, and double-click the file with ARE as the file type. A new window will be pop up, and that's where you can find the area name of the .MOD file.

    vMPxnop.png

Then JC and Leilukin answered my follow up question:  I'm using this to find warp codes in mods that aren't vanilla areas.  Must be they be installed in the game before using Holocron Tool?

    Quote

You don't have to actually install the mod. Copy and pasting the .MOD files from the mod, usually the tslpatchdata folder, into the Modules folder of your KotOR directory works too. If you have already opened Holocron Toolset before putting the .MOD files in your game's Modules folder, you can refresh the list of modules in the Holocron Toolset.

  8. Ebon Hawk Cockpit Upgrade (LEH_Scre01) [More Subtle Version]

    MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: 25 FEB 2023

GAME: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords

    Description:

As before, the Galaxy Map texture is not included in this mod.

You may be wondering: "Why did this need to be made?  Well, it’s the companion piece to my other recent mod “Ebon Hawk Cockpit Upgrade [LEH_Scre02].”  As they’re both on the Ebon Hawk, I should that LEH_scre01 and LEH_scre02 textures should both match. With both textures, you’ll have that opportunity.

First, I started with an upscale kindly provided to me by ConansHair of the LTA_scre01.tga texture.  Then I remade the 3 of the windows over from scratch. As before, all four windows are animated but I didn’t stop there.  I also animated the LED lights and the buttons as well.

After all of these were done and looked over for issues by a top-notch beta team, I asked ebmar if he could add “glass overlays” to the monitors like he did for my recent LEH-Scre02 texture.

    Constructive criticism is welcome.

  9. Ebon Hawk Cockpit Upgrade [LEH_Scre02]

    btjnfdj.png

    MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: 04 FEB 2023

GAME: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords

    Description:

This mod collection replaces the LEH_scre02 textures found around the Ebon Hawk include much of the cockpit area, the room with the holoprojector, and other various EH locations. (The older version that was primarily made by Dark Hope will continue will still be available in my other releases in case this mod isn’t to your taste.)

You may be wondering: "Why did this need to be made?  You already animated Dark Hope’s texture so why not stop there?"  Fair questions and I’ll answer it here to save folks from having to ask later.  I do love DH’s LEH_scre02 texture as it’s very neatly designed.  However as it is so neat, it does seem to be veering away from the vanilla aesthetic.  It’s for that reason that inspired me to make my own attempt.

First, I started with an upscale kindly provided to me by ConansHair of the LTA_scre02.tga texture.  This texture - with some exceptions that will become quite apparent - are a slightly higher resolution in the vanilla texture so that’s why it was chosen. I’ve heard this unused texture as “the weird baby version” or “nightmare fuel.”  (Before you ask, they are likely the developer’s babies born during KotOR1’s development.) I recolored the green parts to match LEH_scre02’s blue.

    OgLL6et.jpg

Then there was this portion of the texture (already recolored blue):

    GyhsVAj.png

It lost a little bit of its shape during upscale, so I decided that now needed work.  I took a portion from my Peragus Medical Monitors and Computer Panel mod and added to blue bars that can be seen in the picture above. Some minor recoloring of the planet as well.

Other things done to the “nightmare fuel” texture:

    • Added a wireframe of the Ebon Hawk in the standard monitor colors. Of course, animated as usual.
    • Grabbed a top-down view of the EH from a menu and fiddled with it so both sides of the EH would be shown. I then added some subtle (for me, anyway) animations to the two places on the texture it is seen.
    • Copied some knobs from that same menu to replace the ones in the texture.
    • Added new versions of LEDs to cover the misshapen ones from the upscale. I added animations where I deemed it prudent.
    • Replaced three of the monitors with textures that seemed to more closely match the aesthetic. (One of these is animated, the other two are stationary images.)
    • Added tachometer type gauges, animating some of them.
    • Adding animation to that 5 x 4 row of buttons.

After all of these were done and looked over for issues by a top-notch beta team, I asked ebmar if he could add “glass overlays” to the monitors.  An overlay free version is also available.

Ebmar was also able to convert the 4K texture into a 2K TPC reducing the file size for everyone.

    Constructive criticism is welcome.

Here’s a video preview of the texture in action.

"Ah ha!" I hear some of you cry.  "But what about this!?!"

    TIbY7rM.png

"What are those weird overlays on that texture?" you exclaim.  Those have always been present on the model.  And as this a texture mod and not a model mod, you know what the Mod Requests section is for. (So go on now. Scoot.)

    Installation:

For either game – If already present in your Override folder, delete LEH_scre02.tpc, LEH_scre02.tga and LEH_scre02.txi (or move them to your Desktop)

Then after extracting the contents of the 7z file, choose from the Overlay and Non-Overlay folders which TPC file you wish to use for your Ebon Hawk and place it in your Override folder.

    To Uninstall:

Delete LEH_scre02.tpc from your Override folder.

    Known Bugs:

None known at this time. If you do encounter one, please note it on the download page and tag me in the comment.  I’ll see if I can suss out the issue.

  10. Citadel Station Signage [Expanded Edition]

    jYB6ipN.png

    MOD AUTHOR: Sith Holocron

    ORIGINAL RELEASE: 28 APR 2013

    UPDATED RELEASE: 13 JUL 2024

GAME: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords (Not for use in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1)

    Description:

This mod collection replaces textures around many places in the Telos Citadel Station – in this case, the various signage seen around the station. This expanded version includes more signs than the original version and should be considered the definitive edition.  The older version will still be available in case folks wish to use it with a minimum of fuss.

Back in 2013, one sign in particular seemed very rushed to me – the pink cantina sign with the animated Twi’lek. (File name: TEL_BBrds2.) I’ve redone the sign – using the original colors so everything matches aesthetically to vanilla. Once I started, I knew I had to continue. All textures were doubled in size and had the Aurebesh font reapplied. I thought the resulting appearance was crisper as a result. Feel free to draw your own conclusions. (By the way, all the text on these signs can be translated into English. Consult Google for Aurebesh translation guides.)

As before, there are two versions of this animated “departure board” in this package. One is for the boards as seen in various places around Citadel Station. I’ve noticed them in the following places: the shuttle areas in the Entertainment module, in the departure area in the Dock Module, and in the mainframe room in Czerka. (They may also be elsewhere.)

The other texture –with the same name – was originally meant to be used with M4-78. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to make it work with the M4-78 versions of these screens. However, seeing as I already made the texture anyway, why not offer the “dark side” version of my standard screen to you? I suppose it could be used for the invasion of Citadel Station portions if you wanted to take the time to put it in.

This expanded edition also includes the numerous number signs seen through the Citadel Station. Please check the pictures attached to the description page for examples.

When putting together this package, I also noticed that one of the billboard sign textures (TEL_BBrds4) is essentially the same texture seen in my Animated Cantina Sign for KotOR 1 mod.  As that texture was appreciated in Kotor1, I’ve decided to include it in this package as well. (The texture is renamed appropriately, of course.)

NEW (as of 13 JUL 2024): In the Star Wars universe, there is an alternate set for numerals that appear as dots and dashes.  They appear in some of the Star Wars RPG manuals and also in some (but not all) of the various Aurebesh fonts floating out there.  As it was pretty easy to do, I’ve created an alternate set of textures that replace the numerals that are “Arabic-adjacent.” If you wish to use these, pay close attention to the Installation instructions.

Constructive criticism/Reviews and likes (or LS points if you’re on Deadly Stream and you prefer it) are welcome.

Here's a video so you can see the mod in action in the game:

    Installation:

For standard numeral textures: Extract the TGA files and the TXI file into the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic/Override folder.

For alternate numeral textures: Create a new folder on your desktop. Extract the TGA files and the TXI file into it.  Add all of the textures in the “Dotted Numerals” to your Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic/Override folder.  Only then should you add the following textures from the package:

    TEL_BBrds.tga, TEL_BBrds2.tga, TEL_BBrds2.txi, TEL_BBrds4.tga, TEL_BBrds4.txi, TEL_HSn3.tga, and TEL_Mon1.tga

    To Uninstall:

Take all of the textures from my package out again.

    Known Bugs:

None known at this time. Seeing as this mod has been around since 2013, you should pretty safe about this one.

    Legal Disclaimer:
