I've tested the mod and there were parts that had not been recolored even with the edited .gui files included. I think the name of the inventory items were one such thing, but I'm not sure.

HELP! with Kotor Collection & Kotor Tool
Kexikus replied to Jorak Uln's topic in General Kotor/TSL Modding
The last post of this thread should help: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=210702 But you'll obviously have to change the path you enter in the last step to the one where your kotor collection is installed.- 10 replies

View File [TSL] High Quality Starfields and Nebulas The same as my K1 mod, this one replaces the low resolution star and nebula textures with higher quality ones. Update: Thanks to GNihilus2 I added compressed versions of my star textures, reducing their size from 3 MB to around 50 KB. There is no visible difference and there's also no need to download the new version if you already downloaded 1.0 unless your harddrive is really full. Well, the smallest ones are actually 128x128. One example for that is the Yavin space texture, which is also why I only scaled it up to 512x512. But other textures where actually 512x512 and some were 256x256. And I'm glad you like the idea of this mod and hope that you'll be happy with the new textures

No no, but it seems to be impossible to recolor everything, that's what I wanted to say. And therefor there are some turquoise parts of the UI left with this mod, reminding you that it's only a mod while playing.
-
There is a mod that changes the TSL interface to a blue similar to K1s gui. http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Blue_Interface_in_TSL;103121 But creating such a mod is probably a real pain since you have to recolor a lot of textures and edit many lines in the .gui files. And there seem to be some buttons etc with hardcoded colors so that it's pretty much impossible to completely change the ui. That's also the reason why I don't use the mod linked above even if it's very well done otherwise.
-
It seems that way. I was just testing it with my (close to) vanilla installation and the Taris background was gone. Sorry about that mistake. But having a planet backdrop depending on where you're leaving from would be cool anyway, so I'll just leave that part of the request here for any modder interested although it's not really something important to add

HD Stars and Nebulae (help finding where which texture is used)
Kexikus replied to Kexikus's topic in Work In Progress
Yeah, the orange one is used as backdrop during the prologue but I couldn't find the purple on during the spacewalk :/ Oh and I could use some help with K1 too: I already found the background texture used on the Endar Spire, the Ebon Hawk, the Leviathan, the Starforge, the Yavin Station and during the turret minigame. However there are still 4 star textures that are used in none of those places. Are there any areas I've forgotten that could include those? -
Do you still have those files? And if you do, would you be willing to continue working on that project?
-
I was recently playing K1 again or at least played short parts to test stuff and I found myself in one of those random space battles that sometimes occur when leaving a planet. And the thing I noticed is that you can always see Taris and the Sith fleet in the background. That's obviously perfectly fine for the battle during the attack on Taris and I guess they simply used the exact same module for all later battles. It's no big deal either but I'd love a mod that simply removes those backdrops from later battles. I also found high resolution textures of all planets. They are mostly recolored versions of the Taris texture and therefor not really useful but I think that Bioware once intended to have different backdrops depending on the planet you are leaving. So if someone wants to take this idea for a mod even further, he/she could implement that feature

I just finished my playthrough of Brotherhood of Shadows: Solomons Revenge and it doesn't add any new planets to the galaxymap. That means that this mod is now complete until a new planet mod is released

I'm working on my first texture pack right now. As the title says, my goal is to provide high quality textures for the starfields and nebulae seen in both KotOR games. I already made some good progress, but I still need to figure out where some textures are used (especially for K1, since that game has soo many star textures...) The one I'm mainly wondering right now is from TSL however and called PER_nebula01.tga. I already know that it's seen on the large monitor in Peragus' administration level, but I'd like to know if anyone knows of another place it's used in. Also, while I was looking for places that texture is used in I found some screenshots by sELFiNDUCEDcOMA where he seems to have added textures in places they were not present in vanilla, as seen in this post for example: http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/2062-tsl-textures-remastered/?p=24681 I liked the idea of doing something like this, so I was wondering if it'd be possible i.e. not too much work for someone with almost no KotOR modding experience like me to do such a thing, even though I wouldn't use it in this mod.
-
Since this mod is currently on hold, I was wondering if you considered releasing another preview version including what you have already completed. And if you don't want to do that (which would be perfectly understandable), could you maybe release your Coruscant skybox as a seperate download?

That's a real shame, since this mod is pretty much the last one to make KotOR 2 a really great experience including a satisfiing ending.
-
Yeah, the starscape texture could certainly use an upgrade. Do you know their names? And about number 2, although I'm not sure if this is the place to discuss the development of the new textures: I found out that the dpi has no effect at all, that was a mistake on my end^^ And the game blurrs the texture differently depending on its size, even when they look exactly the same (i.e. one pixel in the small texture is the same as 4x4 pixels in the bigger one). I think I'll try some more things with that texture but a real new Ravager image would probably the best solution.
-
I found a solution for number 2. I'll upload the texture as soon as it's done. The trick was to increase the texture's dpi. That might also work for number 1. And I also found some other textures that could use higher resolution versions (although they might exist): The skybox for Taris and Anchorhead in K1. Edit: Here's a screenshot of the fighter texture I made. It still needs some finetuning work, but I think it's looking quite good. But the biggest problem is that I have no idea where I could get a useful texture for the Ravager. The best thing I could find is this one: The problem is that this picture is neither big enough nor the right perspective. Any help would be much appreciated if anyone has the skill to draw a texture, has a good 3D model to take a picture from or knows of a good source picture.
-
I was wondering the same. Is there any information about the continuation of this project? Or did no one pick it up yet?
-
That sounds great Can't wait to see those big new textures ingame, and I'm sure you'll find a solution for the control panels

View File Canon Galaxy Map for KotOR 1 ========================================================================= CANON GALAXY MAP FOR KOTOR by Kexikus ========================================================================= ABOUT This mod changes the position of all planets on the galaxy map to roughly their canonical positions. I also included a new icon for the starforge and enlarged the planets to the same size as in KotOR 2 TSL. In version 1.1 I added support for RedHawke's Ord Mantell mod. Additionally I included a new texture for Ord Mantell so that it does no longer share Korriban's texture. INSTALLATION Simply let TSL Patcher do its magic. It should find your KotOR installation automatically. If it doesn't and you have to select it manually, choose the folder that includes swkotor.exe. UNINSTALLATION Delete galaxymap.gui and lbl_strfrge.tga from your Override folder and copy galaxymap.gui from this mods backup folder into Override. Note The second step is only necessary (and possible) if you had galaxymap.gui in your Override folder when installing this mod. INCOMPABILITIES It's obviously incompatible with any mod that changes the size and position of the planets andor changes the Starforge icon, but aside from that there are none I know of. Note Since this mod only changes the placement of vanilla planets (for now), these positions might interfere with planets added by mods. This shouldn't be gamebreaking in any way but could look ugly on your galaxy map. CREDITS Mod by Kexikus TSL Patcher by stoffe THIS MOD IS NOT SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS OR BIOWARE.
