Please see http://github.com/th3w1zard1/KOTORModSync for the main repo. Please report any bugs or problems you encounter. While I test this heavily, it's difficult to find any and all problems when incorporating 200+ mod's instructions across dozens of operating systems and platform combinations. If you happen to notice something odd or out of place, please report them. KOTORModSync is a multi-mod installer for KOTOR games that makes it easier to install and manage mods. I usually install the Reddit mod build every year or so. The process takes about an hour and it's repetitive moving files, running tslpatcher, deleting specific files, and occasionally renaming some files. The last time I installed the modbuild I made a mistake on a single different step, 3 times in a row. Most mistakes require a full restart from the beginning. This is tedious, so I decided to create an installer creator in C# to simplify the process. Goals Mod creators work really hard on their mods. It's the least we can do to install them and use them, right? However, who wants to reinstall to vanilla and spend several hours reinstalling mods, just to add 1 or 2 extra mods on top of it? Other mod managers I've tried were either too difficult to configure, require significant changes to a hard-to-understand configuration file, or only provided limited functionality for defining new mods. KOTOR mods definitely can have complex dependency relationships with each other in regard to compatibility, due to the nature and age of TSLPatcher. Usage If you are an end user just wanting to install some mods, simply load up the instruction files provided, choose the mods you want from the left list and any options, and press 'Start main install' Watch Xuul's tutorial video here: Effortless Modding with Kotor Mod Sync: The Ultimate Guide for Star Wars KOTOR Mods (youtube.com) If you are a mod developer, this program contains a full-blown instruction editor that'll allow you to quickly create instructions for your mod and define its compatibility with other mods. See Dependencies/Restrictions and InstallBefore/InstallAfter explanation - Pastebin.com for more information. See the video tutorial here: Creating involved instructions for KOTORModSync - YouTube Features Can install the https://kotor.neocities.org/ mod builds in about 20 minutes from a vanilla install. Supports TSLPatching on mac/linux without wine! Select the individual mods you want for an install - the dependencies and incompatibilities will automatically be chosen and sorted. This means end users don't have to worry about specific instructions regarding other mods in the list. All the compatibility steps are handled internally by KOTORModSync and the default instructions files provided here. An end user simply can select the mods they want to install in the left list, and any customizations if they like, and simply press 'Install All' to have everything installed automatically. This program has a built-in GUI editor and an installer packed into one. Modbuild creators can create instructions with little to no knowledge of the format and easily share them with end users. End users can install everything from the instruction file with a simple click of a button. Edit any instructions and verify the configuration with built-in tools. Some support to dry run an install. A flexible configuration editor and parser utilizing TOML syntax. This is very user-friendly and similar to INI which TSLPatcher already uses and most modders are used to. Create instructions files with complex dependency structures for multiple mods, and have end users install everything exactly according to the instructions created. No more manually copying/deleting files: KOTORModSync handles all of that for your end user. Platforms KOTORModSync is a cross-platform 32-bit and 64-bit .NET application. It is compatible with the following operating systems: Windows 7 and 8: Compatible if running .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher. Windows 10 and 11: Fully compatible with any Windows release. Linux and Mac: Fully compatible - choose one of the two that match your operating system. Users do not need to download any additional runtimes: everything is self-contained within the application. Linux You may need additional X11 libraries. In order to get this working on WSL, for example, I had to install the following packages: sudo apt install libsm6 libice6 libx11-dev libfontconfig1 libx11-6 libx11-xcb1 libxau6 libxcb1 libxdmcp6 libxcb-xkb1 libxcb-render0 libxcb-shm0 libxcb-xfixes0 libxcb-util1 libxcb-xinerama0 libxcb-randr0 libxcb-image0 libxcb-keysyms1 libxcb-sync1 libxcb-xtest0 Then you can simply run in a terminal like this: ./KOTORModSync If you run into problems with the Linux or Mac builds, please contact me and I'll try to get a fix ready for the next release. Credit Snigaroo This man saved me a countless amount of hours. I'd still be struggling through game glitches and mod-specific instructions I didn't understand. Actually, I'd probably still be on Dantooine trying to determine why I'm getting visual glitches and crashes which he solved with the one-word message 'grass'. Cortisol Created HoloPatcher and the PyKotor library that KOTORModSync uses to patch mods. These projects are the main reason KOTORModSync can be supported on Mac/Linux. While the PyKotor/HoloPatcher projects have had some issues, this guy was more or less available for comment if I had questions on how I could fix any remaining problems myself. JCarter426 There were so many KOTOR-specific things to learn, without his help I'd still be trying to deserialize encapsulated resource files. His time and patience were incredibly useful to the project and this project would be impossible without him. Testers: Lewok from r/KOTOR Thank you for helping test that obnoxious UAC elevation problem legacy Windows apps like TSLPatcher have. There's nothing for the Community Patch to fix. Don't change the resolution in-game. Leave it at its base setting and use the widescreen patch to edit the resolution.

Most likely, at the end of each Episode will be an "ending" of sorts that would take you back to the main menu. This *could* be an updated end credits scene though I can't confirm that at this time. But let's pretend that it would be an end credits scene, this scene would require a script to activate. Let's say this script is called "end_ep1" for example... in Episode 1's release this script activates the ending whereas when the Episode 2 update is released we'll replace the "end_ep1" script with a warp script to go to Nar Shaddaa but it this new warp script is still named "end_ep1" to make it compatible with Save Games. Though our primary goal is finishing the actual Episode off first, so take all this with a grain of salt as things can change with time.

Hello! I decided to try my hand on making a custom version of this. I added a couple of static cameras with a filter to try to improve the cinematics. The result can be seen here.

HD Holo ================================= MOD AUTHOR: Olegkuz1997 FOR WHICH GAMES: For Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Description: ---------------- What does this mod do? Nothing much. This mod is a remake of the final scene with Admiral Dodonna's transmission, and more specifically, a remake of the hologram textures of the two characters. This mod is pretty rudimentary, I enlarged the original textures with AI and then manually edited them in photoshop. Tried to give the effect of "interference" and glow. Did it for myself, but if anyone wants it, take it. Yes, I'm aware of the awesome DarthParametric mod, but there were two things I didn't like about it: too strong blue color that kills the rest, and the lack of glow from the hologram. In his mod, the work is much more comprehensive, with redesigned UVs and models, which I have no idea about. Naturally, you have to choose between my mod and DarthParametric's mod, as they are done with different approach. There might be some questions about the hue, as it's not really "blue". It's actually something between the movies and the in-game version (turquoise). In the end, this is a texture mod, so anyone can open the file in paint or photoshop and adjust the color to their liking. Installation: ---------------- Drop tga and txi files in your game’s Override folder. To uninstall: ---------------- Take them out again. Known bugs: ----------------- Holo-Vandar turned out great, but Dodonna was a bit of a letdown. The whole thing is, I think, that she has an incorrect, and frankly crappy "mirror" model, so the textures of "interference" are not quite correctly displayed. Oh yeah, and she's also a bit translucent (eyeballs and mouth). I had to make the head textures brighter to try and hide these details. But overall, it's not too bad. I recorded a little video where you can see for yourself. But in general, this is a normal texture mod, so there should be no problems. Okay, I didn't know that. So, enemies have learned how to remove buffs and put them on (specifically everything they have, and even more specifically, the final boss). However, given Malak's already extremely serious stats, I have to assume those abilities were cut for a reason. That is, they did the right thing. With this mod, the final battle turns into a game of "who can remove and apply buffs first". But you don't seriously think that the ability to do such a monstrous amount of damage is determined by your skill in the game, do you? I can see the point though.

I apologize in advance for the ton of text. I have studied the mechanics of KotOR thoroughly, as I have been involved in translating this game into another language. As a consequence, I had to spend hundreds of hours reading strategy wiki, saves, buffs, enemy skills, and so on. So now I can tell with closed eyes which enemy has how much hp, and what he is immune to. Naturally, since I am also a fan of the game with 15 years of experience, it became too easy for me. I came across this mod and thought - this is it, what I wanted! Not a mindless increase in damage, but a competent approach to the matter, enemies smarter and more useful. But I was disappointed. Having tested the final level of the viewing platform, I entered the battle with Malak. The first surprise was that he suddenly became immune to Plague, which gives only two implant and headgear, which - and I know this for a fact - Malak does not have. But the bigger surprise for me was that he cast Master Speed and Imp Energy Resistance on himself. Which, according to the game stats, he shouldn't have. Naturally, I got knocked out in one hit. Specially put the mod on vanilla, after which I can draw conclusions: this mod does NOT make enemies smarter, allowing them to use their skills more competently; it rewards them with absurd abilities, which they should not have in principle. The description does not correspond to the true work of the mod.

This is a companion to my K1 Main Menu Widescreen Fix mod. In a similar manner, it adjusts the model file for K1's main menu so that it properly fills the full screen width of widescreen aspect ratios (i.e. 16:9, 16:10). It is designed to be used in conjunction with ndix UR’s KotOR High Resolution Menus mod (as pictured). But of course the major feature is that it swaps out Darth Malak for Darth Revan. There are four versions included: Version A uses the vanilla Revan N_DarthRevan01 texture, upscaled to 2048x2048. This texture will override the original and be used by the Revan stunt model (or flowing robes mods) during the game. Alternatively, the menu model will make use of any third party texture of the same name, should you prefer those. Version B uses a uniquely named texture, so it will not override the one used in-game, and the menu model will not make use of third party textures. Additionally, the envmap mask on this texture was adjusted to tone down the shininess of the chest and arms, as I found that a bit too overpowering. Version C uses a further modified version of B's texture to also adjust the colour of the helmet/mask visor to make it a little more apparent. Version D takes this a step further and adds a slight glow (self-illumination) to the visor. Because the original vanilla background texture is very low resolution, it looks pretty terrible when scaled up to fullscreen at 1080 (or above). I created a new, higher resolution background texture that approximates the same look. Obviously this mod will not be compatible with any other mod that also alters/replaces the menu model (including my own - although the replacement KOTOR logos are compatible). As mentioned, it is intended to be used with ndix UR’s UI mod, and serves no real purpose without that mod. N.B.: This is NOT a widescreen mod! This is just an addition for when you are already using a widescreen mod like UniWS. Installation Instructions Extract the archive, navigate to the folder that contains your desired version, copy and paste the files into your Override folder, overwriting if prompted. If you are using version A and wish to use someone else's texture, don't copy N_DarthRevan01.tpc. Known Issues The crossed over belts lack a proper animation, so they are basically static. Even scaled up the Revan model lacks the shoulder width of the Malak model, so crossing the arms was a bit difficult to replicate. Acknowledgements Thanks to @bead-v for MDLEdit and KOTORMax. Thanks to @ndix UR for TGA2TPC. Thanks to @ebmar for enquiring about the feasibility of the Malak/Revan swap, leading me down the rabbit hole of actually making the mod.
