About This File

WARNING:
You must download all seven (7) parts of the BoS 1.0 before trying to unpack them. The unpacker should unpack them all in a row if you start unpacking the .part01.rar file!!!

A note about the 1.5 bundled release:

The 1.5 bundled release has some bugs fixed, but it is also in preparation for an eventual 2.0 release that will only have 1 installer. This 1.5 release still has both the 1.0 and the 1.1 downloads, so you will need to download both files.

Bugs fixed by this bundled release are listed below.

This pack includes several fixes for BoS:SR, done by LiliArch. Source files included.

1st of all: Great Mod !!! I absolutely enjoyed playing it. unfortunately a couple of bugs, but i was able to get around them by using 2 installations of KotOR and just copying the saves forward and back.

The biggest problem i had, was when i went through the mining tunnels over the bridge, the game constantly crashed afterwards, after the cutscene on the Orion.

The same happened after i have finished the Mod playthrough and went back over the bridge towards residential area, it crashed always as well...

Like i said i got around this by copying the save from one installation to the other...ONLY REALLY STRANGE THING: After copying the save over, Shadow looked like a Gamorra War Pig.

Absolutely bizarr, but i was able to play further.

Now i am done with the mod and i am back at the Ebon Hawk on Korriban and continue with the main Quest...

Thanks to all the Fans who made this great Mod !!!

  • When installing the 1.0, it couldn't find either msp_malachor.mp3 or music_revan.mp3, so I had to manually install them.
  • When attempting to install the 1.1 patch, I got the following error:

 • Error: Unhandled exception: Cannot create file "C:\Users\Serenity\Downloads\Brotherhood of Shadow\bossr_patch_1.1\modules\ship6_tmp\add.ncs". The system cannot find the path specified (0)

This is after the folder was set to read only and running the installer both as an administrator and not as one.

Hello everyone!. First of all, I apologize for my English. So if something will be unclear in this mail, ask again and i 'll try to explain what i mean.
To the case: i met bug when trying pass from Civilian Quarters on Korriban to Czerka Mining Facility. The game simply crashed every time i tried to come in. As i understood, in this post was a solution to the problem Which consists in the following

1. just reinstall game several times (when bugs appeared) and mod as well, and just copy previous saves from bugged game to the new recently installed?

2. Is there another solution?

3. By the way - i playing BOS:SR v1.1. - not the 1.5 bundled release which is presented here.Could this be the root of the problem?
Thanks for your attention and sorry for the time you spent on replying this commentary

i dunno and couldnt "research" if that tmp folder is needed for the installation process or it is a mistake and the folder should be only ship6 (which is the final folder in my installation)

hope that helps somehow dude

ship6_tmp is a temporary file. you need to put file add.ncs (a script) into the ship6.mod module.

For starters, have you looked inside your tslpatchdata folder if there is a changes.ini? Did you make sure that that folder and the EXE are in the same folder? Are youre sure you downloaded every archive needed? If one of those isn't the source for the error have you tried to re-download everything?

What are you talking about?

I get an error during installation using mod creator's installer:

Error: Unhandled exception: Cannot create file "C:\Users\Ung\Desktop\KOTOR1_Mod\bos_sr_1.0\backup\modules\ship.mod". The system cannot find the path specified (0)

Has anyone else gotten this, and how did you resolve it?

As many people seem to struggle with this:

-Install this as your very first mod, most importantly before K1R, it'll work with K1R if you install it before K1R

-Extract the content of the bos_sr_1.0 files. Extracting one will extract the content of each part

-Extract the patch into a seperate folder

-Go to the tslpatch data folder of the main mod and open changes.ini with your favorite editor

-Replace all / with \

-Do the same for the changes.ini in the tslpatchdata folder of the patch

-run the installer for the main mod, it should run through without throwing any exceptions

-do the same for the patch

-install k1r and all your other mods

Generally speaking your should always backup your swkotor folder before installing mods so you won't have to reinstall the game all the time.

I'm getting this exception:

Error: Unhandled exception: Cannot create file "C:\Users\Adrian\Desktop\KOTOR1_Mod\bos_sr_1.0\backup\modules\ship.mod". The system cannot find the path specified (0)

Will doing that text replacement in changes.ini fix this?

So at the top of the page it says the file has been reported broken? Does that mean it's impossible to download now or just not on this site?

I've done it with that text replacement and the patcher runs fine for me.

The Rodian pazaak player wasn't replaced with the the Rodian that you talk to to start the quest. I don't know how to fix it.

If you're having issues with the ship.mod file not installing through the patch, you simply need to place the installer and all of it's content into your main game directory and run it from there.

Can't tell you why exactly, but that's what you need to do.

Should I use my invisibility to fight crime or for evil?

Fight for evil by starting a dark side walkthrough on KOTOR.

I have this other BOS file in my archives called 'bos_1.07_patch.rar' (895kb).

Would that be redundant if i download this version instead ?

If you get

The system cannot find the path specified

Just create the folders that the patcher can't find. I created "modules" under "backup". It asked for another and created it. Now it installed correctly.

Are you installing this into K1 or TSL?

For crying out loud, it's been over a year and no answer to my question about what the squibblyness you're talking about. Did you die or something?

It's been a while since I've looked around these parts, but has anyone been able to come up with a legitimate way of installing BOS without any major errors? If not, does anyone know how to fix those errors? I ask these things because I want to try and use this on my next KOTOR play through.

Assuming that you downloaded the mod from Deadly Stream; would you mind take a look at the attachment below?

That should do the trick. But try to make sure to install BoS:SR before K1R or any other mods [it worked for me- at least].

Note: The process of the installation should do just fine. But as in my playthrough I haven't yet to the point to trigger BoS:SR quest, I can't guarantee you there would be no errors occuring after.
